  • Hindu Scriptures List

To list Hindu Scripture is an impossible task.

For example, the Ramayana has over 1600 versions!

We have Languages , other than Sanskrit, of which we are familiar with, we  have Tamil , which has innumerable texts of Religious importance.

The other Indian Languages, at least 18 of them are quite rich and they have their texts.

I am furnishing a List which is indicative of the Ocean that is Hinduism.

This  may be considered as a starting point.

  • Collector Removes Hindu Symbols Upaveeda Sindoor

This has not happened in Abu Dhabi ,Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan or Pakistan.

This took place in Sitharkottai, Ramanathapuram district ,Tamil Nadu.

    District Collector's Office,Ramanathapuram.Iamge.jpg.
    District Collector‘s Office,Ramanathapuram

Students sporting tilak on their foreheads and amulets on their bodies were stopped by the Physical Instruction teacher of a Government-aided minority institution before they entered the school premises.

The sacred threads and rakshas (amulets) worn for protection round the necks or arms were cut off, and the sindoor, tilak on the foreheads erased.

What s most painful is that the Collector who ordered thus is one Nanadakumar, presumed to be a Hindu!

    Read this report.

None of the Newspapers, TV channels, let alone the Secular Media reported this or reported in such a way that no one notices it!

This is not the first time of such incidents happening , the media keeping mum on such incidents and the Government taking no action.

    My post of December 20,2013.

Ramanathapuram district, 527 km south of Chennai, which houses Rameswaram Temple and many holy shrines, is getting out of bound for outsiders. Local Jamaath Councils have issued ‘fatwas’ declaring Muslim-majority villages out of bound for people even from the district itself.

Entrances to Athiyuthu, Puthuvalassai, Panaikulam, Azhagankulam and Sitharkottai sport such boards, all put up by the local Jamaath Councils. “There are boards deep inside these villages which declare outsiders are not allowed,” said B Arumugam, who acted as a guide to this correspondent. Interestingly, all these villages have a strong Muslim population.

“Advertising (banners, posters and pamphlets) and honking (from vehicles) without permission is prohibited inside the Panchayath. By Order – Muslim Jamaath Thajul IslamSangh, Pottakavayal”, is the board which welcomes the visitor to the village entrance on the Attrankarai Road, hardly 10 kilometre from Ramanathapuram town. “For the last 20 years, only Muslim candidates had been elected from this constituency. Only Muslimscould be elected from this Assembly constituency,” said N Suriyaprakash, a civil engineer-turned-politician.”

    Now to the present story.

When agitated parents rushed to complain to Ms. Zarina Lotus, headmistress of the Muhammadiya Higher Secondary School, Sitharkottai, Ramanathapuram district, she reportedly claimed to be implementing thediktat of the District Collector, as per the version of Shri Ramesh (name changed), father of one of the affected children. The agitated parents accompanied by Shri Prabhakaran, district head of Hindu Makkal Katchi, met District Collector K Nandakumar and complained about the incident. But the District Collector not only justified his order, but challenged them to take the matter to the courts, as per the version reported by the Hindu Makkal Katchi leader.

Since the students come to school sporting religious symbols, quarrels ensue and hence students have been sent to Reformation Schools. Policemen in Mufti who have been keeping watch had reportedly stated that the raison d’etre behind the occurrence of these quarrels are religious symbols and listed the schools where such incidents occurred”, continued Ms. Zarina Lotus.

Intrigued, the writer and some public minded citizens contacted headmistress Zarina Lotus over the telephone on January 21, 2014, and she again claimed that she was only obeying the orders of the District Collector. Ms. Lotus claimed that during a meeting of headmasters of high schools and higher secondary schools, the Collector had stated that the teachers should advise the students not to sport sacred threads or apply tilak or sport any object that would represent their religion. We sought to know the reason why the Collector would issue such an order.

The headmistress replied that since students come to school sporting religious symbols, at times quarrels ensue, and hence some students have been sent to Reformation Schools. Policemen in mufti who have been keeping watch on the trouble had reported that the raison d’etre behind these quarrels were the religious symbols; they listed the schools where such incidents had occurred.

Accordingly, we sent an e-mail to Shri K Nandakumar on January 22, but have received no reply till the time of writing. His personal assistant, Shri Dharman, said the District Collector was busy and could be contacted later, and disconnected the telephone. Subsequent attempts to contact him failed.

Other Hindu bashing activities in Ramanathapuram reported.

    • Ban on beating of drums in Amman Temples.
    • Changing of routes traditionally adopted by Temple processions.
    • Filing of a case against Hindus, who complained about the slaying of a cow by certain Moslems near a temple at a village called Azhagan kulam.
    • No action against those who broke the memorial pillar of Swami Vivekananda.
    • Punitive action was not taken against those who hoisted the national flag tied to slippers in the village of Pudhumadam.
    • Boards announcing ban on non Moslems entering the village and those banning playing of songs by vehicles on public roads have neither been prevented nor removed.
    • No action was taken against those fundamentalist Moslems, belonging to the area and other states who underwent arms training at Periyapatnam.

I am taking this issue to PM Narendra Modi’s Office through his Socil Media Portal of which I am an invited member.

Will some one take this to Tamil Nadu CM’s Notice?

In the meanwhile, this is the contact details of the Collector ,Ramanathapuram.

Please send Emails on this issue, seeking clarification on this issue/redress/withdrawal of the order.

  • Ravana Samhita Shiva Tandava Stotra By Ravana

I have read that Ravana was a Great Scholar and a great Shiva Bhakt.

Based on this efforts were made to describe him as a good character  by the protagonists of the Aryan Invasion theory, especially by the motley group of DK and DMK.

They argued that Ravana was a Dravida, Ram, an Arya and that the North Indians were trying to dominated the South my misinterpreting the Epic.

    Ramayana.

In the process, these jokers forgot Ravana is described as a Brahmin.

If  this group hates anything more in Life, it is Brahmins.

Thus they scored a self goal!

RS Manohar,The Great Dramatist Tamil Nadu has ever seen, was conned by this misinformation and he produced Ilangeswaran, a Drama describing

    Ravana as A good Man.

The flip side is Ravana was a Brahmin!

He was reported to have invited Kanchi Periyavar to this drama as it was from an Epic and was well researched.

    Periyavar’s reply was’

“I do not know anything about Research.

    Ravana coveted other’s wife.

This one act has wiped out all His Punya and his Devotion to Shiva.

I shall not attend and he did not.

What is not known is that Ravana has written an Astrological Treatise, The Ravana Samhita.

This was narrated to him by Lord Shiva Himself and this sis considered to be an authentic Book on Astrology.

“Ravan Samhita is an astrological text or scripture narrated by lord Shiva and written by Ravana. Ravan Sanhita is the testimony to his great

astrological knowledge and is considered as the standard book of reference by astrologers even today.”

    Excerpt.

Ardra constellation is the 6th constellation located in the sign of Gemini & has the
Navamsas of Jupiter & Saturn. 1st Navamsa is that of Sagittarius, 2nd Navamsa is that of
Capricorn, 3rd Navamsa is that of Aquarius, 4th Navamsa is that of Pisces. This must be borne
in mind when reading the results of various 4 padas (quarters) as per some scholars, at times
one finds the traits of the navamsa sign and lord giving results as per padas but at times it
does not make sense. The toughest part of astrology for the non-obsessive predictors that is
the ‘Explorers’ is to understand why the Rishi has given such and such a result, to understand
the basis of the results given in classics for a particular combination but unfortunately the
sages never explained the reasoning nor have the past scholars been successful in explaining it
all. Please note that it is very difficult to find charts where planet would be in exact pada and it takes a
long time to find one. So here we have taken Sun in Ardra Nak, ignoring the pada number given by
Ravana and only trying to understand if the results in actual charts are atleast nearby. This will be
    followed in all examples.

General results of being born in Ardra Nakshatra
    1. Such natives are extremely sincere in their work and also are too sensitive. It is noticed that
even when in a slight problematic situation they go through mental torture but ironically at
times they can keep a very cool head under great stressful situations.
    2. If females have the first menses in this Nakshatra, she will have immoral life, defective
sexual organ, will give birth to dead children.
    3. Normally, a native born in this constellation earns his livelihood away from his home and
family. In other words he is settled in foreign places. The period between 32 years and 42
years of age will be the golden period for such natives. He may be employed in transport,
shipping, communication departments or industries. He may also earn as a book seller or
    finance broker.
    4. His marriage will be delayed. In case marriage takes place early he will be compelled to live
separately from the family either due to difference of opinion between the couple or due to
other circumstances beyond his control. When the marriage takes place at a later stage his
married life will be good. His spouse will exercise full control over him.

One of the popular Temples of Devi in Kerala is The Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple, near Cochin.

One of the unique featur of the Temple is that the Durga Suktha Homa is conducted daily to ward off Possession by spirits.

The list I have produced here from vaikhari.org does not seem to list this temple in this List.

Or is it included by some other name?

Will some one from Kerala clarify?

  • 108 Shiva Temples 64 Villages Built By Parashurama List

Parashurama was an Avatar of Vishnu.

It is a rare occasion when one Avatar of  Vishnu comes face to face with another.

    VadakkunathanTemple Built By Parashrama.Image.jpg.
    VadakkunathanTemple Built By Parashurama. Kerala

If my memory is correct, this is the only Avatar where one Avatar of Vishnu met another.

Parashurama met Lord Rama, who is also an Avatar of Vishnu met Ram after His marriage with Sita, while he was on His way to Ayodhya.

    Parashurama.Image.jpg.
    Parashurama.

Parashurama was a Man who vowed to wipe out Kshatriyas for 21 Generations for Karthaviryaarjuna, a Kshatriya having killed His father Jamadagni.

He was more angry at Rama for Rama had broken the Bow, Shiva Dhanus at Sita’s Swayamwar, which was given by Him to Janaka, Foster Father of Sita.

He challenged Ram and Ram strung the Bow and asked Parashuram as to what would be the Target he would assign for The Arrow.

Ram reminded Parashurama that He would not kill a Brahmin and as Parashurama had already donated the Kingdoms won by

Him to Sage Kashyapa, He could not offer any land.

Parashurma asked Ram to aim at the results of His Good actions,Punya.

    Ram did so.

Then Parashurama prays to the Lord of the Ocean,  Varuna/Samudra Raja to provide Him land for Him to Live.

Varuna asked Him to throw His Axe into the Ocean and that Varuna would make the Ocean to recede and Parashurama can live in the Land  thus

    created.

Parashurama threw His Axe and the Land between Gokarn (now in North Karnataka) and the coastal belt of land up to Kanyakumari, now called Kerala.

The original name of Kerala is Parashurama Kshetra.

Parashrama settled here and He built  64 Villages.

32 are now in Karnataka, rest in Kerala.

Parasurama had consecrated 108 Shiva temples and 108 Durga temples .

Among these 216 temples, the Lord Shiva of Gokarnam Mahabaleswara Temple in the north and Goddess Kumari of Kanyakumari temple in the south were considered as the protectors of Kerala.

The first Shivalaya created by Parasurama was the Thrissivaperoor Vadakkunnatha Temple and the last one was the Thrikkariyoor Mahadeva Temple.
