  • Tamil Sangam Rajendra Chola Epigraphs On Kaarthigai Deepam

Tamil Sangam Rajendra Chola Epigraphs On Kaarthigai Deepam

The fact that Tamil and Sanatan Dharma are inseparable has been well established and I have shared historical facts with authentic sources from Sanskrit,Tamil and references from Foreign sources.Yet there is misinformation being spread that Tamil Kings ,Chera, Chola and Pandyas were inimical to Sanatan Dharma and there was a Tamil culture which was independent of Sanatan Dharma.Nothing can be farther from truth. I had written that Sanatan Dharma was a part of Tamil Ethos. As a matter of fact the germ of Vedic thought has its origins in Tamil for Siva is recorded to have founded the Tamil language, along with his son Subramanya, aka Murugan in Tamil, and Sage Agastya . Sanskrit, in the form of Maheswara Suktha and Tamil had sprung simultaneously from the Sound of Siva’s Damaru.Siva presided over Tamil Sangam ,so also Murugan and Agastya.Valmiki who wrote Ramayana was a Siddha and he composed Poems in Tamil. The earliest Tamil Grammar work, Thokkappiyam was written by Tholkaapiyar was well versed in Sanskrit. The references to Sanatan Dharma and it’s practices in Tamil Literature are too numerous to be recounted here. I have written articles on each of these points and more.

One of the earliest Practices is Kaarthigai Deepam. On this day , which falls on Krithika Nakshatra in the Tamil month of Karthikai, corresponding to English month of November, A huge fire is lit atop of Thiruvannamalai Hills. Women light earthen lamps in front of homes daily during this month. This is followed in most Siva Temples in Tamil Nadu. However it is special in Thiruvannamalai,Tamil Nadu as Thiruvannamalai is one of the Panchabootha Sthalas,of Five basic elements of nature.Thiruvannamalai represents 🔥.

    Kaarthigai deepam Thiruvannamalai.

This practice of lighting for Karthikai deepam has been in vogue from Tamil Sangam period. This is recorded ,among others,in Akananaanuru,Kalavazhi Naarpathu, Thevaram ( reference here is Kaarthigai in Kapaleswara temple Chennai).Seevaka Chintamani , one of the five epics in Tamil, speaks of this practice.Of note is that this work Seevaka Chintamani is oriented towards Jain Philosophy.

Not only this. That this was celebrated during Rajendra Chola period is evident from the Epigraph found in Srikalahasti. Mention here is made of donation made by one Chalukya Kaalakaalan Kaalappiriyan.

    Epigraph at Sri Kalahasthi. ‘உடையார் இராஜேந்திர சோழர் காலத்தில் ஒரு கார்த்திகை விழா – திருக்காளத்தி கல்வெட்டு)

Hot Water Turns Cold as It reaches Idol’s Feet Lakshmi Venkateswara Gabbur

Temples of India never cease to astonish me. Apart from being sources of Spiritual strength, they are also architectural wonders. Many temples are astronomically aligned. Some are connected to celestial events. Some temples are aligned in the same longitude.Twelve Jyotirlinga temples form Fibanocchi Spiral. There are temples where sun’s rays fall at a specific place at a specific time. There are temples where Siva linga changes colors five times a day….the list goes on.

Now another addition to these amazing temples. At Gabbur, Raichur District, Karnataka,It is the Lakshmi Venkateswara Temple . This temple is atleast 800 years old. It was built by Kalyana Chakukyas. This temple has Hanuman , apart from Sri Venkateswara. Here, Abhishek is performed with hot water and it becomes cold when it reaches the feet of the idol. One can see water vapour rising. However, the hot water is poured at the feet ,it remains hot!

Gabburu is called the Temple town of Raichur District. There are as many as 30 temples and 28 rock edicts in the town. In ancient times, Gabbur was also known as Garbhapura and Gopuragrama.. Many of these temples were built during the reign of the Kalyani Chalukyas. Some of the prominent temples of Gabbur are the Hanuman, the Ishwara, the Venkateshwara, the Male Shankara, the Bangara Basappa, the Mahanandeeshwara, the Elu Bhaavi Basavanna and the Boodi Basaveshwara temple; there are several other temples in ruins

  • Spider’s Web Sounds Music Study

    Spider’s Web Sounds Music Study

The whole Universe is based on runs on motion and vibrations. This is the view of Hinduism. Sabda, sound is given the pride of place as one of the Attributes of Reality. While Light is given prominence in other religions, sound is taken as the basis for Universe. Arunagirinathar, Siddha and a great devotee of Sri. Subrahmanya describes Murugan as ‘Nadha Bindhu Kalaathi namo..Veda Mantra swaroopa namo’ நாத பிந்து கலாதி நமோ.. வேத மந்திர ஸ்வரூபா நமோ’ .Some spell as Vindhu, விந்து. It is incorrect. Bindhu is one of the centres of higher realisation and and it is a symbol in Tantra Sastra. ‘Bindu mandala madhyastha..Bhairava Bhagamalini’- Sri Lalitha Sahasranama.Vindhu means Semen. This misinformation is like Shiva denotes represents Phallus Nonsense.

And sound can be converted into other forms of Energy. Om, the fundamental mantra sound of Hinduism, when converted into light, shows Sri Yantra, most venerable symbol of Devi Upasna.

    Sri Yantra of Devi. Image
Sri Yantra. Also called Meru in Devi Upasna.

We have Veda as Sapda pramana, that is a source of Knowledge, Sound meaning testimony. Sapda,Nadha precedes everything in the Universe. Matter which comprises the Universe is in Perpetual Motion. And this is proved and attested by the Theory of Expanding Universe. The philosophical question whether Sound ) Vibration preceded Motion or it is the other way around ,is yet to answered.

What is indisputable is Sound forms the basis of the Universe. There are places,Space without Light but never without Vibrations, including Black Holes.Indian texts declare languages were born from the Sound of Siva’s Damaru. And Universal Motion is portrayed in Nataraja Nrithya,Cosmic Dance.More on this in site under Astrophysics.

It is also interesting to note even plant lives react to sound. And on a macabre note Indian texts say that as death stalks complete absence hearing takes place first, this is different fro Deafness. Please read my articles on Signs of death.

So in essence ,life is Sound.A step in this direction is the converting the pattern of Spider’s web into sound and listen to it in the video.Tge process is also described.Spiders live by feeling sound and arrange their dwelling accordingly.

Our ancestors were not fools to say that spoken words must be harmless, gentle and kind. If truth is hurtful ,then it must be expressed in softer gentle words and kindly. Satyam Bruyaath Hitam Bruyaath. Following is the souy for the study on Spider.

Spider web converted into Sound/ music.

‘A few years ago, scientists translated the three-dimensional structure of a spider’s web into music, working with artist Tomás Saraceno to create an interactive musical instrument, titled Spider’s Canvas. Now the team has refined and built on that previous work, and added an interactive virtual reality component to allow people to enter and interact with the web.

This research, the team says, will not only help them better understand the three-dimensional architecture of a spider’s web, but may even help us learn the vibrational language of spiders.

“The spider lives in an environment of vibrating strings,” said engineer Markus Buehler of MIT. “They don’t see very well, so they sense their world through vibrations, which have different frequencies. • Halal Jaggery For Sabarimala. Details

    Halal Jaggery For Sabarimala. Details

I received a forward that ‘Halal’ Jaggery is being used by Travancore Devaswom for the preparation of Neyappam and Aravana being offered to Sabarimala Ayyappa. This information had a newspaper cutting as supporting document. This is the cutting below.

Newspaper cutting regarding Jaggery ,cerified as ‘ Halal’

I cross checked the facts. A case has been filed in Kerala. It transpires that the Devaswom authorities had given the contract for Jaggery to Vardhan Agro Processing Ltd Maharashtra. As the company exports Jaggery to middle East , they are getting it certified as Halal to comply with the Islamic countries rules. So, people may desist from spreading misinformation that disturbs communal harmony. One must exercise caution. Having said this, either the company could have used a label that does not contain the word Halal or the TDB could have ensured that the suppliers use standard labels for supplies made to Sabarimala. The issue raised seems to remain.’ Has Halal process been followed in this case? There seems to be no answer to this critical question. That the said company followed it for export confirms that Halal has been carried out.

Adminstration of Hindu temples must remember that it is not merely money that matters in running of temples, though it is necessary, but the sentiments and practices of the Temples and Hindu Agama are followed strictly. There is a statement by an Islamic scholar that ‘Spitting on Food products is a part of Halal practice’. Halal practice must not be used for any ingredient used for Naivedya, not only for Sabarimala but for all Hindu Deities.

Spitting on Food is part of Halal.
    Spitting on Food.

We have evidences of Hindu Temple lands being leased out to non Hindus, this is quite glaring in Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple. This is against Sastras. This is to be avoided and such practices must cease. Temples are not social rooms.

‘In the petition, filed through advocate V Sajith Kumar, the petitioner has alleged that use of halal certified food materials “is not a Satwik/pure material” to be offered to Lord Ayyappa and therefore, the actions of the temple administration were “highly illegal and violative of the religious rights guaranteed under the Constitution”.The Board told the high court that the jaggery received from the contracting company is first tested at Pamba by the Food Safety department and after their clearance it is stored in the godown there.

From there, as per requirement, jaggery is transported to the main store at Sabarimala and after preparation of ‘vazhipadu’ (offerings), these too are tested before they are distributed or sold, the TDB told a bench of Justices Anil K Narendran and P G Ajithkumar……Countering the petitioner’s claims, TDB in its statement has contended that the allegations in the writ petition are “absolutely false, baseless and are made purposefully with the malicious intention to stall sale of ‘appam’ and ‘aravana’ in Sabarimala” and to “torpedo” the pilgrimage season.

The Board has claimed that stalling the sale of ‘aravana’ and ‘appam’ at Sabarimala would cause a huge financial loss to it. The Board also said that packets of the fresh supplies of jaggery contained the label ‘halal’ and on enquiring with the contracting company about this, they replied that they export jaggery to Arab countries and for that ‘halal’ certification was necessary.

The company said that ‘halal’ certification was an assurance of maintaining quality standards, as per the Board’s statement.

Giving details regarding the procurement of jaggery at the temple since 2019, the Board said a contract for supplying jaggery during 2019-20 was given to Vardhan Agro Processing Ltd from Maharashtra and the company had supplied 19.96 lakh kilograms of jaggery from Mandalam-Makaravilakku festival till Chithira Attavishesham during that period. The medicines included Go Mutra, Cow’s Urine. ChebulicMyrobalan,Haritaki,Kadukkai in Tamil was soaked in Go Mutra for curing internal piles. Cow’s Urine was also used to treat Jaundice. Hellow is the relevant information quoted by Annual Report on Epigraphy , which says the process followed is from Charaka and Susrutha Samhita. (67th verse of 9th chapter of Saraka Samhita and in the 6th chapter of Sushruta Samhita)

Thirumukkoodal Inscription by Veera Rajendra on cows Urine being used in the temple hospital

The Hospital,Adurasalai had (hospital staff) a physician, a surgeon, two male nurses, two female nurses, a potter, a washerman and a guard.

chebulic myrobalan .Haritaki (Terminalia chebula Retz., Family: Combretaceae) possesses a great therapeutic value and is widely distributed in India, up to an altitude of 1500 m. Though Terminalia chebula Retz is the only botanical source of Haritaki, the uses of its varieties along with their sources, identifying features and therapeutic uses are described in Ayurvedic classics and other medical literature. In the present study, a detailed review has been carried out on different varieties of Haritaki……Haritaki (Terminalia chebula Retz) is held in high esteem in Ayurveda for its properties to prevent and cure diseases. It has enjoyed the prime place among medicinal herbs in India since ancient times. It is called the ‘King of Medicines’ and is always listed first in Ayurveda because of its extraordinary therapeutic benifits…Data on this medicinal plant is available in all Ayurvedic classics as well as in the Nighantus and works on the materia medica of Ayurveda. The details of the plant are also mentioned in Tibetan literature and various floras of medicinal plants. It is found throughout India up to an altitude of 1500 m.[1] Fruit rind is used as medicine and is one of the ingredients in Triphala (three myrobalans). This plant is used externally in wound healing, fungal infections, inflammations of the mucous membrane of the mouth, and internally as a rejuvenative, astringent, purgative, stomachic, and laxative. It is useful in asthma, piles, and cough.[2,3]
