Sankalpa Details For UK Cities
I have been often asked how Sanatana Dharma spread throughout the world.

My answer is that in the early days , going back to about Million years Sanatana Dharma was the only way of Life throughout the known Landmass.

The earth was described as consisting of Seven Islands, Saptha Dweepas.

Seven ancient Islands of Earth.

They are,

Jambuu Dweepa,

Plaksha Dweepa,

Saalmalii Dweepa,

Kusa Dweepa,

Krouncha Dweepa,

Saaka Dweepa and

Pushkara Dweepa.

Now landmass had changed, new political Maps are in place.

And now many Indians live abroad and it is heartening to note that many still follow the karmas like Sandhyavandan,Tharpan,Sraddha and other religious practices ordained by the Sastras.

They have difficulty in reciting Sankalpam, right determination before any religious occasion.

I had written on Sankalpa in the US..

Now I am proving Sankalpa for UK.

Use appropriate Year,Season, Month, Thithi(waxing and waning of the Moon), Nakshatra(Star), the occasion for which the Sankalpa is made, y referring to Panchanga.

Horoscope Casting Child Name Letters
Predictions based on the basis of Horoscope depend on two things.

1.The accurate time of Birth.

2.The Knowledge base and the disposition of the Astrologer.

Normally we do not get the accurate time of Birth.There is a time gap between the exact time of birth and the time we note it down.

The message often varies and the Doctor may not have taken the time accurately as he is concerned more with safe delivery.

The astrologer’s knowledge content is vital as Astrology is a highly complex subject and it takes years to obtain proficiency.

Jyotisha, Astrology is a Limb of the Vedas, Vedanga.

It is accurate if the time and the knowledge and interpretation of the stronger sync.

And the disposition of the astrologer is important.

When one decides to take Astrology as a profession, the element of Money creeps in, just as it has happened in the case of Veda Teaching.

One imparts what is sweet to the Hearer and what is most beneficial to the Astrologer,monetarily.

There are still good dedicated people practicing Astrology in a spirit of Curiosity and a way to enrich their Knowledge.

They do not expect Money, they are content if you offer anything.

Those are the people who are to be consulted.

Normally the Horoscope is to be cast for the Child only on the day of the First Birth day, at the close of the Ayush Homa..

Horoscope must not be cast earlier.

The Nakshra and Rasi may be noted to name the child.

There are three names given to a child.

1.Sarman- the name of the Family Deity for the First child, paternal Grandfather/Mother’s name for the second.

This is to e used while performing poojas, archanas and Abhivadanam.

2.The second name is for daily use.This can be any thing so long as it is auspicious in sound and meaning.

3.The Nickname the child is to be called y the people.

Brahma Yagnam Mantras Procedure Video
Brahma Yagnam is to be performed daily after Madhyanhikam..

This is a Nithya Karma, to be performed daily.

Procedure and Mantras.

Achamanam

Face East ….. “Shuklam baradaram….” Followed by pranayamam “om Bhoo…”

Mamopatha samastha duritha kshya dwara sri Parameshwara preethyartham Brahma Yagnam karishye. Brahma yagnena Yakshye.

Chant and clean the hands with water

Vidhyudasi paapmanam vidhya me paapmanam amruthath Sathya mupaime

Mantras.

      Om Bhooo tatsa vithurvarenyam

       Om Bhuva Bhargo devasya Dheemahi

        Ogum suva Dhiyo yona prachodayath

        Om Bhooo Tatsa vithurvarenyam Bhargo devasya dheemahi

         Om Bhuva Dhiyo yona prachodayath

         Ogum Suva Tatsa vithurvarenyam Bhargo devasya Dheemahi Dhiyo yona         prachothayath

Chant Vedic manthras, Each from One Veda, Rig,Yajur, Sama and Atharva.

Om Agnimeele purohitham Yagnasya Dheva mruthvijam, hotharam Rathna Dhathamam

Om Ishe Twoje Thwa vayavasthapayavastha Devo vassavitha prarpayathu sreshtathamaya karmane

Om Agna Aayahi veethaye grunano havyadathaye, ni hotha sadhsi bharhishi

Om sanno devirabheeshtaya Aapo peethaye sam yorabhisravanthu na

After this recite if possible vedic manthras that you know like Rudram, Chamakam etc

Sprinkle water round the head by reciting

Sathyam Thapa sradhayam juhomi

Recite three times with folded hands

Om namo brahmane namosthwagnaye nama pruthwyai nama oshadheebhya namo vaache namo vaachaspathaye namo vishnave bruhathe karomi.

8.Clean the hands again with water by reciting “vrushtirasi vruschame paapmanamamruthath sathyamupaaga”

Do aachamanam

Chant “shuklam baradaram….”

Do Pranayamam, “om Bhoo…”

Mamopatha samastha duritha kshaya dwara sri parameshwra preethyartham deva-rishi-pithru tharpanam karishye.

Touch water and clean your hands

Do deva tharpanam through the tip of fingers

1.Bramodaya ye deva thaan devaan tharpayami

                2.Sarvaan devaan tharpayami

Sarva deva ganaan tharpayami

                4.Sarva deva pathnis tharapayami

                5.Sarva deva ganapathnis tharpayami

13, Do rishi tharpanam by wearing yagnopaveetha as garland and pouring out water from the liitle finger

1,Krishna dwaipayanaya ye rishaya thaan rishin tharpayami

Sarvaan risheen tharpayami

               3.Sarva rishi ganaan tharpayami

Sarve rishi pathnis tharpayami

                 5,Sarva rishi gana pathnistharpayami

Prajapathim kanda rishim tharpayami

Somam kanda rishim tharpayami

Agnim kanda rishim tharpayami

Put the Yagnopaveetham in normal fashion and pour water from the tips of fingers.

Viswan devan kanda rishin tharpayami

Samihithir devatha upanishada tharpayami

Yagnigir devatha upanishada tharpayami

                 12.Varuneer devatha upanishada tharpayami

Put the Yagnopaveetham and pour water by towards the left

Havyavaham tharpayami

                  14.Viswaan devaan kanda rishin tharpayaami

Pour water by the bottom of the palm towards self

15.Brahmanam swayambhuvam tharpayami

                   16.Viswan devan kandarishin tharpayami

                   17.Arunan kandarishin tharpayami

Put the Yagnopaveetham in normal fashion and pour water from the tips of fingers

    18.Sadasaspathim tharpayami

                    19.Rig vedam tharpayami

                    20.Yajur Vedam tharpayami

Sama Vedam tharpayami

Atharvana Vedam tharpayami

Ithihasa puranam tharpayami

Kalpam tharpayami

14.Only those who have lost their father (others go to step 15)do Pithru tharpanam wearing the yagnopaveetham on the right shoulder pouring water between the thumb. And index finger.

                   1.Soma pithruman yamo angiraswan agni kavyavahana ithyadaya ye pithara

                       thaan pithrun tharpayami,

Sarvaan pithrun tharpayami

Sarva pithru ganan tharpayami

Sarva pithru pathnistharpayami

Sarva pithru ganapanthnistharpayami

                    6.oorjam vahanthi amrutham grutham paya keelaalam parisruyatham

                        swadaastha tharpayatha me pithrun trupyatha, trupyatha, trupyatha

                     7.Aabrahma sthambha paryantham jagat trupyathu

15.Put the yagnopaveetha in the normal fashion

Pour water saying Om That sat Brahmarpanamasthu

And then do aachamanam.

Brahma yagnam(sacrifice to Brahma) is the oblation offered to satisfy Devas, Rishis(sages) and Pithrus(ancestors).

Mourning Death Theetu Rituals Hinduism Details
There are forty Samskaras to be performed by a Hindu.

Death is an important Samskara,

I will provide some guidelines with Links.

However, the suggestions of the Purohit is to be taken for consideration as some customs vary for each Caste and even in a Caste for a particular Family/Group.

General.

Those who become Untouchable during the period of Mourning-Theetu

Check list.

1.Inform Family priest, Sastrigal.

2.Keep the body lying head facing South.

3.Light an Oil lamp near the Head;apply Vibhuti(basmam, not as a paste)

3.Light some Agarbathis to ward off smell.

4.As one is not to cook at Home till the body is taken out,inform relatives for arrangement of food for the day.

5.Inform people who are to be informed.

6.At best the body can be kept for about 10 hours;under special circumstances, it may be kept for 24 hours in an air-conditioned casket.

7.Those who go to the burning ghat must go the next day for the collection of Ashes.

8.Ensure that a Doctor visits and give you a certificate.

9.In the case of Death in a hospital, make sure that the necessary formalities are complied with and a certificate is obtained.

10.Inform the Crematorium about the expected time of the arrival of the body after consulting the Sastrigal.

11.At the Crematorium show the certificate and get a receipt. Some times it will be issued the next day.

12.Get the Death registered .

Clarifications on some aspects.

1,One can perform the ceremonies for the first twelve days at specified places,

However it is correct to perform all the Rites at Home and it will bring prosperity.

2.The rites for the first ten days may be done from the seventh day , performing the cumulative rites for six days.

3.There is still a custom in the Hindu communities. especially among Brahmins for a Widow.

That of removing the Mangal Sutra or Thaali and breaking of Bangles in Public.

This does not have the sanction of the Sastras.

The wearing of Thaali is a later custom developed and it does not find a place in Vedic Marriage,

The removal of Mangal Sutra may be done some one who is widowed already(preferably elder to the one in question) quietly on the morning of the Eleventh Day,;have the bangles removed and have the Mangal Sutra removed and dropped in a vessel containing milk.

One can perform all functions in the Family including Marriage after the Thirteenth Day, Subasweekara,Gruha Yajnam, except in the case of Spouse. Wife and children.

The Gruha Yajna means you are permitted to do Yajna.

Subasweekaara means you invite Auspiciousness.

Garbha Dhaanam,Rite To Beget Good Children
In other Religions ‘The Wages of Sin is Death’

But in Indian philosophy, ‘The wages of Sin is Birth’ for without Birth there is no Death and one has to experience the results of the actions performed by him and this is made possible by one being born.

Hence of the Forty Samskaras, Garbha Dhaanam-The Rite to Beget Good Children is the first Samskara.

This is normally performed on the day of the marriage before consummating it.

This is possibly a few of the Homas that are performed after Sunset.

While describing the procedure for Garbha Dhaana , the Satras make some interesting observations on Fertility Days,Time to have inter course,

All these observations are being proved by Science now.

Some Observations.

1.Women conceive in the first 16 Days from the day of last Menstruation Date.

2.If the inter course is on Even days from the Date of last Menstruation.the Child will be Male.If on Odd Days, it shall be Female.

3.Of these Sixteen Days on the following Days, no intercourse is recommended.

-First Four Days

-Full Moon Day

-New Moon Day

-Eighth,Eleventh,Twelfth, Fourteenth Day from the Day of new Moon /Full Moon.(Ashtami,Ejadasi,Dwadasi,Chaturdasi)

Birth Day based on The Star in which one is born is to be avoided.(Janma Nakshatram of Husband)

Also The Sankramana Days are not recommended.

As per hindu mythology, The sun orbits twelve zodiac sign in a period of 1year. So when our sun orbits from one zodiac to other zodiac it is known as Sankramanam.
