This is not the first time that Fox is doctoring visuals.
So much for Reality Shows.
All the Channels do this.
Fox is unfortunate to be caught.
Story:
Fox’sMasterChef cooked up a hilarious blunder by doctoring a scene that shows hordes of people trying out for the show.
In the opening sequence of Gordon Ramsay’s latest cooking competition, there’s an American Idol-style shot of an excited crowd waiting to audition. The voiceover claims “thousands upon thousands lined up” to try out for the show’s second season.
Except if you look closely, producers replicated portions of the crowd to make the group appear larger than it really was. Here’s a screen shot and an exclusive response from the producers, below. Notice the circled areas show the same clusters of people used twice (including a very obvious woman in a bright orange hoodie):
In a comment to Entertainment Weekly, Fox admitted the photo was changed and says they won’t use that shot anymore. It doesn’t really affect anything (thousands probably did audition) but it’s a fun gotcha for a show that takes itself so very seriously. .
“We have reviewed the footage and it’s clear that the scene was enhanced in post-production. We sincerely apologize to our viewers and hope that they still enjoyed the show.”
Unless the source is checked .only misinformation remains.
Yesterday,I came across a news item that the Supreme Court of India had asked the CBI to find where the 2G Scam money has gone before seeking opposing the bail application of Kanimozhi!
I was about to blog on this when I came across the news that the Court had only mentioned in passing as to where the money has gone.
It is not only non-existent stories but selective, and quoting out of context that has to be checked.
If there are any incorrect information in my blog, please inform me.
Story:
On last Thursday’s visit, cops did come upon the smell of rotten meat (from a broken freezer), and blood on the door (from Bankson’s daughter’s boyfriend, who cut his wrist). They showed up after receiving a tip from a psychic (now under investigation). By that time however, even International news agencies were covering the non-existent story with growing detail including headlines such as, “Dozens of bodies’ found in mass Texas grave,” that were tweeted and retweeted hundreds of time. …
“The way the events unfolded, probably around 3:30 or 3:45 p.m., we received a call from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department (Public Information Officer) Rex Evans, so it did not start with a tweet with us,” Collura told Garfield. “So I can set the record straight.” Curiously, PIO Evans didn’t mention the cops got their tip from a psychic.
For his part, PIO Evans didn’t seem interested in placing blame … or accepting it. He pretty much just spread it around, letting us all off the hook, or hanging us on it. “I believe not only mainstream media but social media played an integral part in,” the non-news frenzy. Adding that you can’t really pin it on anyone in particular, PIO Evans offered this timely observation: “In social media, nobody stops to verify anything.” Be it Facebook, emails or Twitter, “you can disseminate any information you want. Problem is, people don’t stop and think what they are releasing or putting out there could actually be harmful for someone else.”…
“I thought ‘Medium’ was canceled,” cracked the Los Angeles Times‘ Scott Collins on Twitter Tuesday night as news outlets rushed to retract their breathless headlines about a (non-existent) stack of two dozen dismembered bodies. Just about every media outlet sent a breaking alert out on Twitter, fromThe New York Times, to Breaking News, to the Associated Press. And plenty “confirmed” the story. ABC tweeted, ” ‘Dozens of bodies’ found in mass Texas grave.” Seth Mnookintweeted the sentiment of many this morning: “Hope “breaking news! dozens of headless bodies on Texas ranch!” was fun for @nytimes, et al, while it lasted.”
The supposed story of bodies, including those of children, rotting in an unattended farmhouse on the outskirts of metropolitan Houston came from a psychic who provided a tip to police. A psychic who is now under investigation. Most outlets got their headlines updated pretty quickly, and by today they’re leading with the fake-out. But Telegraph bloggerBrendan O’Neill caught a Reuters alert, now apparently deleted from the news agency’s site, that confirmed “Texas Authorities Find up to 30 Bodies.” The headline still shows up in a Google search.
Therefore the reaction that BBC is anti-christian is unwarranted.
If it were so BBC need not have published the results of the Survey.
According to a survey of BBC viewers, conducted by the Corporation itself, the BBC is regarded as anti-Christian. The survey found that Christians are portrayed with ‘derogatory stereotypes’ and presented as ‘weak’ and ‘bigoted’.
Arrogantly, the BBC has dismissed the findings of its own report. A spokesman says it ‘has strict editorial guidelines on impartiality’ and that it ‘does not have anti-Christian bias‘. What breathtaking contempt for the findings of their own viewers. Why spend licence fee payers’ money conducting the survey if the findings are to be dismissed so quickly and high handedly?
On one level describing the BBC as anti-Christian might seem perverse. It still has various traditional slots for religious broadcasting. Songs of Praise has 2.5 million viewers each week – despite its afternoon scheduling.
Tata’s have come out with a statement(18 May 2011) ostensibly trying to clear Tata’s name in the donation of a high cost Scanner to hospital in Perambalur, home constituency of A.Raja,wh swindled Rs.1,76,000 Crores and now in jail.
The statement starts with
However, the material fact is that grant was ultimately not given since the Tamil Nadu Government was required to spend Rs. 82 cr initially, which it had not implemented…….
and ends with
A grant of Rs. 8 crores was sanctioned against this request. Of this sanctioned amount, only a sum of Rs. 3.26 crores was released by the Trust and spent by the hospital, towards the cost of a CT Scan machine and allied medical equipment to augment its facilities to treat the rural poor. Additionally, the CT scan and allied equipment are in actual use for the poor patients. As is the practice, the Trust had the progress of the project reviewed by an external expert. The expert reported slow progress on account of lack of infrastructure and trained technical personnel, and hence no further amount was released. In summary, the Trusts have given Rs. 3.26 cr against actual equipment procured and installed.
What more proof is needed that this is nothing more than a quid pro quo for favors from Raja?
Here Radia talks to Chandolia on the ways the Tatas can fund a hospital in Perambalur, A. Raja’s hometown. Later, the Tata Foundation allotted Rs 9 crore to upgrade hospitals in the district.
‘(Tatas) can provide either equipment or some wards.’
NR: I did speak to Krishna Kumar, I did speak to him, he was supposed to tell the…take the…you see, let me tell you where they are coming from…they’re going ahead, they want to do that, they (are) doing the hospital in Perambalur, no problem right? But what they want to do is, and because the charter of the trust allows them to do it only in a particular manner, what they have to do is, they have to provide equipment for the hospital.
RKC: Okay.
NR: Or they provide say, certain wards, they’ll build certain wards or something. So the letter that we have to do, it’s not a cheque-cheque that we give, we actually have to give a letter, and based on that letter, when they start working on the hospital, on certain areas that I decided, between the wards or equipment, then those disbursements start happening.
RKC: Okay, toh aap ek kaam karo na, you just talk…call him, minister…
NR: Hmm.
RKC: And tell him, because he was waiting your call…
NR: He’s waiting my call?
RKC:Haan, haan.
NR: Okay, has he left for Chennai or is he still here?
RKC: Nahin, he is in Chennai.
NR: He is in Chennai, is it?
RKC:Haan, haan.
NR: When will he come back?
RKC: He’ll come on Monday.
NR: He’ll come on Monday. Okay, I’ll have a word…
RKC:Aap baat karke mujhe bata dena aapki baat ho jab.
NR: Okay. I’m sorry maine phir uske baad phone nahin kiya, kyunki kal hi jaake baat hui hai.
RKC:Haan, haan.
NR: So I…I…that’s what he said to me, I just wanted that clarity. Toh maine kaha jo bhi hai, tum (unclear) leke jaake submit kar do na, do a nice photo-op and all that. Maine yahi usko bola tha.
Confirming that he had received a letter from the CBI, Mr. Raja told journalists that he was in Chennai for “personal work and health check-up.” He had immediately sent a reply to the agency that he would appear before the authorities at a date convenient to the CBI. It was up to the CBI to indicate the fresh date.
He maintained that he was neither evading the law nor hiding. Mr. Raja also said that he would not seek anticipatory bail as he was not an accused.
On his recent meetings with Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, he termed them the usual between the leader and a cadre.
