Kashi Vishwanath Gynavapi Mosque Aurangazeb’s Firman Command Images

It is strange to know, in India, that people say that claiming one’s heritage is sinful and you would find people branding you as extremist or a fundamentalist. Nowhere in the world find a part of the population, especially those who were not invaders but invaded leading this cry.You will not find this in Greece, Rome or the Middle East. There this cry is not heard because even the memories of earlier civilizations have been wiped out. Nor would you hear this in Africa for here also the people have been brainwashed into believing that they had no culture or history, as is often made out for Arabia before the advent of promoted Religions/ sects. When you take the instance of China you would not find references to pre-Buddist information ,or even a reference to religion under the communist dispensation. So history is what Victors tell you what it is.It is alright if the rulers continue to rule over you. But if your history and culture is denied even after you have become free of Invaders?

This is what is happening in India now, when people are trying to recover their historic monuments, places of Worship. The seculars, a special breed of self styled keepers of Nation’s Conscience and Freedom of Faiths, would jump up and cry foul cawing that architectural history and cultural pluralism is being wiped out. Wish they adopt the same attitude if their property was encroached upon and a new structure comes up when the family was not in a position to put up a fight; and when the younger generation comes of age and tries to reclaim their past.

This is what is happening in India now. To reclaim Ram Janmabhoomi , attempting to list out the temples destroyed by Mughals and recover them is considered as a sin.If the court intervenes, law enacted at the time of India getting Freedom,(in fact it was not independence at all,but only a release from being a Dominion of Britain) ,which forbids anyone including courts to review the place the places of Worship, thanks to nearly seven decades of proxy British ruling India under the garb of Indians, is quoted! That if the invader had destroyed your places of worship and you were powerless for about 100 years to rebuild or reclaim it, then your ancestry is not proven! I am talking about the Find of Shiva Linga in Gnanavapi mosque in Varanasi. This how the media in India report.

I am providing the firmans, commands, orders of Aurangazeb to destroy temples and his special instructions regarding Varanasi,Kalka,Mathura Temples.Read on ..

Aurangazeb’s Firman, Command to Destroy Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Arun Shourie confronted this claim with the information given in the official court chronicle, Maasiri Alamgiri, which records numerous orders for and reports of destructions of temples. Its entry for 2 September 1669 tells us: “News came to court that in accordance with the Emperor’s command his officers had demolished the temple of Vishvanath at Banaras.”

Moreover, till today, the old Kashi Vishvanath temple wall is visible as a part of the walls of the Gyanvapi mosque which Aurangzeb had built at the site.

In the face of such direct testimony, it is wiser not to challenge facts headon. It is better to minimise or to justify them. Thus, Percival Spear, co-author (with Romila Thapar) of the prestigious Penguin History of India, writes: “Aurangzeb’s supposed intolerance is little more than a hostile legend based on isolated acts such as the erection of a mosque on a temple site in Benares.”

But a perusal of the same Moghul chronicle thoroughly refutes this reassuring assertion: Aurangzeb had thousands of temples destroyed…

JNU historian Prof. K.N. Panikkar offers one way out: “the destruction of the temple at Banaras also had political motives. It appears that a nexus between the Sufi rebels and the pandits of the temple existed and it was primarily to smash this nexus that Aurangzeb ordered action against the temple.” The eminent historian quotes no source for this strange allegation. In those days, Pandits avoided to even talk with Mlecchas, let alone to concoct intrigues with them.

Other secularists have spread a more sophisticated variation, now regularly reproduced in the media: “Did Muslim rulers destroy temples? Some of them certainly did. Following the molestation of a local princess by some priests in a temple at Benaras, Aurangzeb ordered the total destruction of the temple and rebuilt it at a nearby site. And this is the only temple he is believed to have destroyed.”

This story is now repeated ad nauseam, not only in the extremist Muslim press and in the secularist press but also in academic platforms by “eminent historians”. It is repeated with approval by historian Gargi Chakravartty, who also reveals the source of this story. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dharmadispatch.in/amp/story/history/exploding-the-secularist-myth-of-aurangzebs-demolition-of-the-kashi-vishwanath-temple

    Gyanvapi Mosque inside wall .

Given that the picture and the associated caption portrayed Aurangzeb as a tyrant, the Congress party came to the defence of the Mughal ruler. The official handle of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Sevadal insinuated that the ancient Hindu temple was not destroyed by the Mughal emperor, by claiming how the photograph taken in 1890 can prove that Aurangzeb had destroyed the temple when the Mughal emperor had died almost two centuries ago.

“Aurangzeb died on 3 March 1707. How a photograph clicked in 1890 can show that wall which is allegedly broken by a person who died in 1707?” the tweet by Maharashtra Congress Sevadal read.

    Allegations by Congress Sevadal junked

Twitter user ‘IndiaHistorypics’ refuted the claim by responding that the same destroyed wall is also seen in a lithograph made In 1834 by British scholar James Prinsep, which had mentioned that the temple was destroyed by Aurangzeb.

“Further you may take up the matter with ASI and British Library as the source belongs to them,” the popular handle told Congress Sevadal. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.opindia.com/2022/05/congress-sevadal-whitewashes-destruction-of-kashi-vishwanath-temple/amp/

  • Difference Between Namaz And Hindu Prayers.

Difference Between Namaz And Hindu Prayers.

I was curious to know about what is being prayed in Mosques,Five times a day? Namaz is considered to be one of the five fundamental duties of Islam. So, what is recited five times a day must be the essence of Islam .It would be appropriate that we know about what is recited.I am reproducing the text of what is being recited during Namaz with the Link.

Before going into it, I would like to share with you what Hindus pray and not Pray for.

    Prays for.

    • Prosperity and welfare to All,irrespective of caste, creed ,Humans and animals.

Education that does not waver in the sense that it is helpful and not mere information and distracting.

Never Aging in the sense of keeping the physical and mental faculties in tact.

Friendship that is true and honest.

    A Body without  illness .

An unflagging mind undeterred by disappointments.

    Wife whose Love never wanes,

A child who is on the Right path.

Fame that never takes a beating.

The trait of keeping one’s word.

    Uninterrupted Philanthropy.

    Undiminished wealth.

    Just Judgments.

    A Life without pain.

Your Grace to be with your Devotees.

    • Hinduism does not talk about punishment to non believers
    • It does not make or consider individuals as slaves.
    • It explores Truth.
    • Nor does Hinduism pinpoint one as The Messiah or Prophet and only he has to be acknowledged.
    • It does not talk about Descendants who are to be blessed.
    • It does not ask the angel to record one’s good deeds and the angel on the left to record bad deeds.

What is the purpose of Prayer?

One prays whe one is faced with a problem one can not surmount.

It may be by persons or events beyond our control.

Prayer is highly individualistic and personal.

Prayers are the tools through which we connect to God/Reality.

One approaches God in the Form he is comfortable with in communicating.

One may not hear the answer.

But I have experienced that prayers are heard.

Sometimes what we pray, we may not get.

    I recall Shakespeare thus,

‘We, ignorant of ourselves, Beg often our own harms, which the wise powers Deny us for our good; so find we profit By losing of our prayers.’ Shakespeare.

    How true?

    Shanthi Mantra Hinduism

Slokas to recite in the morning.

Salah (namaz prayer) English transliteration and translation. It is extremely important to understand what you recite in Namaaz, to be able to connect with Allah, to be able to become more sincere in what you ask from Allah, to establish Namaaz, to be able to find peace in our namaaz. Did not the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) understand the meaning what he recited in his Salah? So it should it not be Sunnah to understand what we recite in Namaaz?

Read: Subhanaka Allahumma wabi hamdika wata-bara kasmuka wata’ala jad-duka wala ilaha ghyruka.
This means: Glory be to you, O Allah, and all praises are due unto you, and blessed is your name and high is your majesty and none is worthy of worship but you.

    At-taḥiyyātu

This means: All compliments, all physical prayer and all monetary worship are for Allah. Peace be upon you, Oh Prophet, and Allah’s mercy and blessings. Peace be on us and on all righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that no one is worthy of worship except Allah. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

    Allâhumme Salli

This means: Oh Allah, send grace and honour on Muhammad and On the family and true followers of Muhammad just as you sent Grace and Honour on Ibrahim and on the family and true followers of Ibrahim. Surely, you are praiseworthy, the Great.

    Allâhumme Barik

This means: Oh Allah, send your blessing on Muhammad and the true followers of Muhammad, just as you sent blessings on Ibrahim and his true followers. Surely, you are praiseworthy, the Great.

    Rabbenâ âtina

Read: Rabbana Atina Fid Dunya Hasanatan Wa Fil Akhirati Hasanatan Waqina Azabannar

This means: Our Lord, grant us the good of this world and that of the Hereafter and save us from the torture of hell.

This means: O God! We ask you for help, forgiveness, and guidance. We believe in you and turn to you in repentance for our sins, and place our trust in you. We praise you by attributing all good to you, and thank You, and never feel ingratitude to you. We reject and cut our relations with those who are in constant rebellion against you.

This means: O God, You alone do we worship, and we pray and prostrate for you alone. We endeavour in your way to obtain your good pleasure and approval. We hope and expect Your Mercy and fear your chastisement, for your chastisement is to surround the unbelievers.

  • Vedas Smritis On Saffron The Colour of Hinduism

Vedas Smritis On Saffron The Colour of Hinduism

Saffron colour is associated with Hinduism. Donning Saffron robes is the hall mark of a Sanyasi, one who has renounced everything in Life. Saffron color has now become a symbol of Hinduism.

On careful examination of Vedic texts and Smriti does not give a clue about Saffron being the colour of Hinduism, let alone Sadhus.

Hinduism is not an institutionalised one. Nor does it have any Prophet or Founder. Spiritually, in Hinduism is personal and it does not brook external symbols , excepting in instances where Tantra ,Yantra worship is practiced.

Renunciation is the embodiment of leaving everything, including the Sankalp for the Moksha or Self liberation. That is True Sanyasa.

As to Sanatana Dharma, as I have been writing in my articles, is an approach and a way of Living that is unique to one’s Nature,Swabhava. If one were to search for Temple worship in the Vedas, he would not find it. Nirguna Aradhana, that is Worship or meditating upon The Reality as a principle which is beyond Attributes is recommended.

As it is difficult to meditate upon ,for normal human beings, the concept of Worshipping individual Deities was introduced. This is Saguna Upasana, the worship of Reality in the form of a Specific God . The Saguna Aradhana is the first step towards Nirguna Aradhana. In this, there is no room for any symbols.

I have found some interpretations. I am reproducing them here.

All explanations seem to be convoluted ones, where the explanations seem to be of individual opinions. But none of them seem to have any authority sanctioned by either Sruthi (Vedas) nor Smritis.

Smritis do not prescribe any specific color for performance of Samskaras. It recommends dry white Dhoti for auspicious occasions and wet ones for Inauspicious ones. The dresses we ascribe to Gods and Goddesses including Navagraha are only the expressions of Saguna Upasana.

Any additional input with authentic texts welcome.

    Two religious reasons:
    1. Ancient Hindus worship fire. Well known reason.
    2. Ancient Hindus worshiped Lajja Gauri, the Goddess of fertility. Fertility is naturally denoted by the color red. For reasons which will become obvious if you follow the Wikipedia link, I cannot include a picture of the Goddess.

    One geographic reason:
Rubia cordifolia produces Alizarin which was used as a dye. The dye was used extensively with henna.Cultural reason:
Ascetics adopted the color to denote purity(since fertility and purity are intertwined). It came into extensive use since antiquity. The color was not as extensively used in the middle ages as many people would like to believe, it gained prominence with the Hindu Nationalist movement in the late 1800s. The rest, as they say is history.https://www.quora.com/Why-is-the-color-saffron-so-important-in-Hinduism-and-otherwise-to-Buddhists-and-the-Sikhs-as-well-I-have-noticed-that-even-Swami-Agnivesh-who-has-often-been-termed-as-anti-Hindu-by-extremists-chooses-to-always-wear-saffron

In Sanatan Dharma, the dark saffron colour indicates sacrifice, religious abstinence, the quest for light and salvation. Bhagwa is the most sacred colour for the Hindus and is often worn by sadhus who have left their home in search of the ultimate truth and serving the society before self.

It is to be said, in the earlier times Hindu saints were always fond of nature. One of the biggest components of Vedas is the “Aranyakas” – experiments with nature. Two of the most impressive things that Hindu saints found were – Sandhya (time of sunset/sunrise) and Agni (fire). A big part of Vedas is about extolling the virtues of the Sun and Fire. Thus these three predominant colours of sunset and Agni are yellow, orange/saffron and red became the holiest colours of Hinduism.

Hindu saints and spiritual stalwarts have always been saying things based on their experiences. As per legend, we experience saffron colour when we reach to Samadhi. When your energy flows from Muladhara (Root Chakra) to Sahasrara Chakra (Crown Chakra), and you awaken the entire Kundalini, the colour which you experience is Saffron.

We have seen Bhagwan Rama, Bhagwan Laxaman and Mata Seeta wore saffron during their exile and also saints they met during their journey. https://arungovil.in/importance-of-saffron-colour-bhagwa-kesari-in-hinduism.html#:~:text=In%20Sanatan%20Dharma%2C%20the%20dark,serving%20the%20society%20before%20self.https://arungovil.in/importance-of-saffron-colour-bhagwa-kesari-in-hinduism.html#:~:text=In%20Sanatan%20Dharma%2C%20the%20dark,serving%20the%20society%20before%20self.

  • Court Should HaveEmpathy ,Duplicitous act By Karnataka?

Court Should HaveEmpathy ,Duplicitous act By Karnataka?

I wrote an article yesterday rebutting Omar Abdullah’s charge that the Kashmir Files is full of lies and noted that I was expecting these type of reactions from the ‘Liberals’ ‘Secularists ‘. I expected nothing less. First deny the facts, then abuse.

The same thing I have been expecting from these Learned Liberals on the Hijab Row. But what is unique in this case is, the secularists have gone to the extent of advising the high court how they should decide a case. The court is expected to have ‘Empathy’.

The court is expected to reasonably accommodate! ‘Between ‘reasonable accommodation’ and ‘reasonable restriction’ on the hijab, the court ordered the latter. That’s a travesty, because the Constitution-makers envisaged primacy for individual liberty and rights, above the rights of the State to curb them. The court may have sufficient ground to say that wearing of the hijab is not an essential religious practice. Indeed, even if it were, it should be measured against the touchstone of constitutionality.’

What nonsense. If Courts were to have empathy, what are laws for? Where was this empathy factor when the courts said it can not order for a judicial probe into Kashmir Pandits killing and Exodus?

These students, that a group, have suddenly decided to wear hijab, all together, on one fine day! Coincidence! Why the writer has not noticed the court’s observation about ‘ Hidden Hands’?

Writer of this master piece on Empathy is Sri. Arvind Narrain.( Spelling not mine) It is not irony.More Loyal than the King.

The High Court of Karnataka has delivered a judgement in Resham vs State of Karnataka that is singularly lacking in empathy. The petitioners before the court included the young Muslim women from a government PU college in Udupi who had been arbitrarily shut out of their own college by their own teachers in a video witnessed by people around the world. However, the court delivered a judgement of cold-blooded legalism that, without a word of commiseration for their suffering, went on to snuff out the rights of the young people before it to privacy, dignity, religious expression and, most fundamentally of all, to education…….This was not a dispute that involved balancing the rights of the individual over the rights of the community, as the court would have us believe. There was no young Muslim woman before the court asserting that she wanted to attend college without the hijab but was prevented from doing so. In the absence of any factual dispute between the individual right to expression against a community norm of wearing the hijab, the Government of Karnataka, in a duplicitous act of benevolent patriarchy, claimed to represent the concerns of Muslim women who don’t want to wear the hijab. The court sanctified this claim.

Hijab row verdict: A grave constitutional wrong

The Karnataka High Court’s judgement on the petition by some Muslim girl students on the hijab issue is flawed and disappointing. Most of the issues the court deems to have settled need to be reviewed at the highest judicial level. Instead of settling the issues, the judgement has raised more questions. Between ‘reasonable accommodation’ and ‘reasonable restriction’ on the hijab, the court ordered the latter. That’s a travesty, because the Constitution-makers envisaged primacy for individual liberty and rights, above the rights of the State to curb them. The court may have sufficient ground to say that wearing of the hijab is not an essential religious practice. Indeed, even if it were, it should be measured against the touchstone of constitutionality. But the Constitution does grant all the relevant rights that are enough to accommodate a headscarf in an institutional uniform – the right to religious freedom and practices, the right to freedom of expression, the right to privacy, the right to education. It is only by a very restrictive interpretation of these rights that ‘reasonable accommodation’ could have been denied.  Hijab verdict: ‘Reasonable accommodation’ lost out to ‘reasonable restriction’

The Karnataka High Court has suggested the possibility of some ‘unseen hands’ behind the hijab row to engineer social unrest and disharmony. The court also expressed dismay over the issue being blown out of proportion.
