Why should Killers of Rajiv Gandhi be Spared?

There is a concerted attempt going on to free the killers of Rajiv Gandhi.

Those who advocate the view that the killers should be spared from the hang man’s noose conveniently forget the pain they caused to the  people around those they have killed.

It is not merely Rajiv Gandhi they have killed others too, apart from alienating the Tamils of SriLanka from the Indian polity.

Worst is the man who ordered the killers  of Rajiv Gandhi, after years of silence, merely said ‘it is a regrettable instance’.

Another argument is the evidence against Perarivalan is insufficient and the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case is not over yet.

-Supreme Court ,Evidences et al is for nothing?

It is another matter that death sentence is to be abolished.

Till such a law is passed,present Law should prevail, not withstanding pressures by a group which can not/refuse to  distinguish  Freedom Fighters from  Criminals.

As the clamour forclemencyfor the three convicts in theRajiv Gandhi assassination casegrows, the Madras High Court on Monday admitted a plea to hear the case seeking to stay their hanging on September 9.

The high court fixed Tuesday to hear the petition.

Harithra, the teenaged daughter of one of the convicts — Murugan — living in an undisclosed place in the United Kingdom, had earlier written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa appealing to them to forgive her father.

Harithra’s mother Nalini was also sentenced to life imprisonment but the Supreme Court later commuted it to life imprisonment.

Santhan and Perarivalan were the other two assassins who are scheduled to be hanged in the central prison in Vellore on September 9.

    Our TN Chief Minister has rightly replied to the demand . Our Ex- CM will always tell something when not -in power and do something else when in Power .We as Tamilians should refrain from commenting on this most sensitive issue .

    Internationally some debates are going on against total punishments or hanging . My personal opinion is that the option has to be there .Otherwise some worst human beings will resort to kill another human being and they will have open licenses to kill somebody .Are we able to prevent some suicides ?

      I agree that Death sentence need a look into.
      I shall be soon blogging on this subject.
      Mr.Ramalingam,we Tamilians have refrained from speaking out mind on issues,even on vital ones,always on the assumption that the issue is sensitive,
      Unless we speak our mind,Right or Wrongs does not matter- we shall have uncultured,double speaking ,Chauvinistic,uneducated,greed,self serving ,egoistic and morally loose thugs, shall continue to mislead the people.

      We must register our views.
      My son and daughter always tell me not to be very vocal in my blogs, at least on the subject in question.
      Some times Truth needs to be cried out aloud.
      By our silence we have made Tamil Nadu a laughing stock.
      As for as the Dravidian(?) parties go, the equation is;DMK minus Karunanidhi is AIADMK and AIADMK minus Jayalaithaa is DMK.
      ( As Kamaraj used to say’ore kutaile oorina mattaigal’).
      However the difference is Jayalalithaa,
      She is right most of the times, as she is in this case.
      And she seems to be doing a good job right now.
      Her kind of Administration is what is needed.
      ( as an aside let me tell you I have already received hate mails for this blog calling me names including’ BangaloreParpana Nai’-This is the fond epithet of most of the Tamil netizens when I write some thing on issues like this, portraying me as though I am anti SriLankan Tamils.
      In fact I am the one who first broke the Story of Channel 4 news,which was published in Independent ,as a blog and registered my anger , leading the Srilankan net community to vent their anger at killer Rajapakshe).I have documened the crimes of Rajapakkshe ‘War criminals of Srilanka’ and in many more blogs.
      The Holy cows of Tamil Nadu, about whom you are not to write, are Annadurai,EVR and MGR.
      If you say any thing about these people you had it.
      Congress has lost self respect in tail Nadu long ago.
      Hope Tamil Nadu recovers from criminals.
