Absolutely true.We should keep Russia card safe and also improve our relations with Bangladesh,Maldives,Nepal and Srilanka and not to forget the far east,which, in my opinion,has not been getting the attention it should from the mandarins of Foreign Ministry.
At the same time keep US in good humor and get what we want. -
The Americans and the British are playing a dangerous game of (1) to establish imperial reach on the resources of Central Asia, and (2) after decimating the Soviets with China on their side, to Contain China with the help of India, while making sure India is check-mated with Pakistan.
Al Qaeda and Taliban were created under their careful eyes, and now provide a perfect pretext for their military presence there.
They are desperate to retain their leverage on Pakistan, and are ready to go to any lenght, where moral cosiderations have no place.
And for Pakistan, receiving (1) billions of dollars in economic and military aid and (2) diplomatic cover against India, in return is just perfect.
The Americans have the wherewithal to stay in AfPak region for a long time, and destabilize the region at the cost of Russia, China, Iran, India and Central Asian nations.
Much the same as the 1962 disaster against China, India can not afford to forget the American hostility and sanctions for over three decades, and must not become an American pawn to contain China. It must play its cards carefully, and in the words of India baiter Stephen Cohen ” ride the American bus so long as it can get off and ride its own bus”.
For India the best bet would be to see the Americans and the Chinese contain each other.
