I am by faith an Advaitin, and apply logic wherever possible, eventhough I know logic is a duble edged sword that Destroys one’s quest for Spiritual development.Spirituality is to be Experienced and Felt. It can not be felt ,nor understood by Logic. We, in our Life ,follow many things which have no logic. First among them is Life, Why am I born and why do I die and what do I do here?Nor can logically explain emotions excepting to describe them .I can not explain many things in the Universe.Yet, l apply Logic!
You come across things, persons and events that defy logic. I have documented my experiences with paranormal in my articles.
As to esoteric sciences, I hold Tantra Sastra in high esteem. Though I have a very high opinion of Astrology in its accuracy of predicting Universal Events, I look with scepticism it’s efforts in predicting individual life’s events. My reason for the latter is that the Time of birth is never as accurate as happenings in the Universe. Hence prediction of Universal Events by Astrology defies Science.
I have some background in Siddha systems, Ancient Tamil System of Peering into future,Nadi system.
I have been stunned by Siddha system which was demonstrated by Siddha Sri. Venkatraman of Agasthya Asram ,Thiruvannamalai.( he shed his mortal coil some years ago).
But Sri. Nellai Vasanthan?
He expired yesterday.
I came into contact with him, though I never met him, through my friend of over ten years Sri. Trisakthi Sunderraman, when I needed some guidance for my close relative . He was in a physical condition that was beyond doctors’. I am not expanding on this as he is a very close relative. I was asked by Sri. Sunderraman that he knew someone to whom he shall pass on my problem and added that he could not guarantee that Nellai Vasanthan would agree to listen to me or even entertain the request.I was informed that though My friend had known him for over a decade, he could not say which calls he would respond to.
Next day ,by 9 am , I got a call from Sri.Sunderraman from Chennai, I live in Bangalore, that Nellai Vasanthan had come to his house ( Sri.Sunderraman) and would address my issue through Sri Sunderraman! He wouldn’t talk to me direct. He wanted to know some intimate family details about the person I was seeking guidance for. I conveyed to him through Sunderraman,we were talking and Sunderraman would relay information both ways, that I would ask the relative’s son to be connected in the call. Vasanthan refused and informed that he would say things only through me and I could relay information to my relative’s son and pass on the reply to Vasanthan through Sunderraman! I followed his advice. This is what happened.
Vasanthan , without any information identified the illness.
He pinpointed the patients birth place, where he lives and where he was injured and what his injuries are
He accurately indicated the number of siblings of the patient.Their Names! Even I did not know them.
He then told me my health issue which only my close family members are aware of,even Sri. Sunderraman was not aware till then.
He told my full name which my friend also did not know.
He listed out the three womens’ names I chant while performing tharpan for my mother’s side.
He told me my deceased Aunts daughter’s name.
He told me that I was talking standing under a water tank!My friend disagreed with him as he knew my apartment and I do not have a water tank near from I would speak . In fact I had moved away from my apartment and had gone nearly 200 meters away and I did not realise that I was standing near a Syntex water tank decanting drinking water !
He had also conveyed many intimate information about me,which was quite surprising!
He told me I had three subjects I wanted to write and that I would get reference to one in a couple of days and for the rest I would have to wait as i wouldn’t get relevant information. I found and write in Vaasi Yoga as he predicted, a couple of days later. The other two topics? I am yet to get information!
And I write with planning as I am guided to write. True.
On being asked why he is divulging information about me unasked for, he informed that he is directed to do so!
To top this All he predicted that my relative shall come out of coma on a particular date. Doctors had declared that he wouldn’t!
My relative came out of coma as predicted.
His case is now a Case Study and my closest friend and top neurologist of the world acknowledges this as a miracle.
The system that Sri. Vasanthan followed is, to my knowledge, isan ancient esoteric Tamil system of Nimithikam, Palm leaf reading, Astrology, Intuition and in my view plain God’s Grace .
He defied Space and Time in that he could see beyond, hear beyond and Perceive what we can not Perceive.
Vasanthan is beyond Science, an Enigma.
Tracing the genealogy of Tamil Kings of ancient times, Chera,Chola and Pandya is very difficult. I have, based on the dates of Ramayana, Mahabharata and references to these Kings, traced Chola lineage. Now, with additional inputs, I am in a position to postulate that the first Pandya King was Indra himself. This may sound weird. Unfortunately, evidences compel one to theorize thus.( In my earlier article I mentioned Vadivalambanira Pandya as the first Pandya King. That was based on available material at that point of time. Now, this article is updated with fresh information I have come by. Contributions welcome.)
Meenakshi Amman.
Based on references in Ramayana to these Kings, I arrived at four Pandyas.
First King was Kulasekara Pandya, his son Malayathdwaja Pandya.Malayathwaja Pandya’s daughter was Meenakshi and she ruled Madurai and Her Consort was Sokkanatha also called Sundara.Veerapandyan ruled after Sundara/ Meenakshi, to be followed by Ugrapperuvazhuthi. He was followed by Abhisheka Pandya.
The capital Korki was destroyed by a Tsunami during the marriage of Kulasekara Pandya. So his new capital was named as Kalyanapura. This was the capital of Pandyas before Madurai/Manalur.
Please check out information provided below with links. This would give you the whole picture that the first Pandya King was Kulasekara ( Indra) and the dates are based on Ramayana and Mahabharata Mentions.
Evidence of Korki is found in Thiruvaarur Devis name Korki.
Detailed article on Korki and Thiruvaarur follows.
Now I have come across references in the Mahabharata that Lord Krishna broke open the gates of a Pandyan King Kulasekhara and killed him in a battle.( VII.11.398) and VIII.23.1016)
‘ Kulashekharan is said to be as strong as a bull. He is apparently killed by Lord Krishna, but although his son wants to avenge his father’s death, he is dissuaded from doing so by his well wishers.
According to renowned archaeologist C Santhalingam, a Tamil inscription found in a Siva temple at Senthalai in Thanjavur district revealed that a Pallava Chieftain Perumpiduku Muthuraaya, destroyed Manalur, the present Keezhadi site during 750 CE, which is located 15 kilometers Southwest of Madurai.
I have written about the spread of Sanatan Dharma and Tamil culture ( both are intricately related) throughout the world. Every single world culture , civilization can be traced to either of these. Apart from being present through out the world,it’s influence is so great that it’s remains are noticed even today in these cultures/ countries. Thailand , Cambodia, Vietnam..these countries were founded by Kaundinya from Kanchipuram. The biggest Hindu temple complex in the world is Angkorvat Cambodia. One finds Kshatriya Clan in Cambodia. Rama kings are found in Thailand.Balamon Cham Brahmins are in Vietnam. The list is endless. Kindly Google the country name plus RamanisBlog for more information.
In Laos, we have a Siva mountain . And A Siva temple was built in Shrestapura Vat phu champask is how the area is now called. The inscriptions in the temple speak of the valour and Just reign of the Tamil King Porkaip Pandian, பொற்கைப் பாண்டியன், Pandya with Golden Arm. Tamil Literature speaks of this King. Once, he went on a regular round of the city,Madurai, as a part of his duty to check the city and also to know about the pulse of the people ,their opinions about his rule. On one such trip, on hearing people talking in a house( where on the earlier night he came to know, the husband had gone on tour) knocked the door, thinking that there was an intruder in the house. However, before the doors were opened, he understood by the conversation between the people in the house that the visitor was the husband who had returned home and was talking to his wife. The King felt that the husband might suspect his wife’s fidelity because of the knock at the doors when he was away.So he knocked the doors of every house in the street and reached his palace undetected.
The next day ,people from the street came to his Durbar and complained that there was a thief who went on knocking every door and was not to be found .The King asked what could be meted out to him, if he is found. People suggested that his one arm of the thief should be cut. The King immediately cut his arm with his sword. People were shocked and were overwhelmed by his Fairplay. He, then had an arm made of Gold and was called as Porkaip Pandian, meaning ,Pandya with Golden Arm..
The temple was built by Devaneeka and the inscription in the temple built around Fifth century AD, speaks about Devaneeka.
This Tamil King referred to and praised in the Laos inscription is Porkaip Pandya. The inscription in Sanskrit and it’s Tamil translation is provided below.

Rama);Follower of Vedic dharma as Vishnu ; Dispenser of justice as Kanakapandya; As stable as Himalayas and majestic as The Ocean.
Translation by Jetpack AI. Apart from being an architectural wonder, the Big Temple of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu conveys a lot of information about the society of chola times of Rajaraja Chola. These inscriptions talk not only about the exploits of the King Rajaraja Chola, but about how the temple was built and details the contribution made by the artisans. He honoured them and recorded it as inscriptions. He also appointed an astronomer,’Perunkani’ பெருங்காணி.. He was in-charge of watching celestial events and based on their movements was expected to advise the temple adminstration date of Temple Festivals. Not only this, over six hundred people ,mainly from Artisans Class were allowed to live in the temple precincts!
Temples were not merely places of Worship but also served as places where people could stay safely during Natural calamities and they were fed .
he mentions in an inscription that the this all-stone temple called ‘kattrali’ (‘kal’ meaning stone and ‘tali’ a temple). This magnum opus, running to 107 paragraphs, describes, among others, how Raja Raja Chola, seated in the royal bathing hall on the eastern side of his palace, instructed how his order should be inscribed on the base of the vimana, how he executed the temple’s plan, the list of gifts he, his sister Kundavai, his queens and others gave to the temple……66 beautiful bronze idols Raja Raja Chola, Kundavai, his queens and others gifted to the temple. The inscriptions elaborate on the enormous gold jewellery, inlaid with precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, corals, pearls, for decorating each of these bronzes…… more than 600 people such as dancers, flutists, drummers, Vina players, conch players, canopy holders, water sprinklers, lamp keepers, laundry women, and so forth. These people worked for the temple for half a day, and spent the remaining time on farm work, on land which was lent gratis by Rajaraja I. The contract with the temple was carved on a stone. In exchange for using the farm land, it was their duty to engage in the construction work of the temple and to pull glittering festival cars on festival days. https://tamilnadu-favtourism.blogspot.com/2016/01/brihadeeswarar-temple-inscriptions.html?m=1
The Tamil Kings were excellent adminstrstors. They had a very effective system of governance in place. They ruled through a Cabinet system. They paid special attention to Finance. They were called Dhanadhikari /Bandaradhikaari. I shall be writing a detailed post on Chola adminstration. The Dhanadhikaari was responsible for all matters relating to finance, food, crop management, raising of public loan…..The public funds/ Valuables were kept in government vaults . For such deposits as are kept with the government, the King bestowed special honors .The Avinasi temple inscription states that the Chola King Veera Rajendra Chola (1207 – 1256) bestowed special honors to Brahmins of North India for having deposited their wealth with the government.Avinasi is in Thiruppur District , Tamilnadu, and Avinasi is mentioned in Sangam Literature. Will be devoting a post for Avinasiappar temple.
