At times, I come across information that is startling and I can not not wish them away. It needs to be cross checked. Following is one such. Please share additional information.
‘Islamic traditions hold that the first Prophet of Islam and the progenitor of humanity, Hazrat Adam, descended on Sarandeep Island (now in Sri Lanka) after he was sent down from Heaven (after he ate the forbidden fruit at Eve’s urging). Since India is one of the oldest civilisations, many prophets may have been sent to guide humanity, Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin of the department of fatwas of 135-year-old Jamia Nizamia Islamic University, told this correspondent.
The Mufti told this correspondent that early Islamic personalities including Ibn Asakir and Allama Ibn Saad had mentioned in their sayings (Riwayat) that Adam had landed on Indian soil. Even the famous Arab traveller Ibn Batuta had mentioned in his travelogues of visiting Sarandeep island where the first prophet of Islam had descended from the Garden of Eden. Muslims believe that God had sent about 1.24 lakh prophets to all parts of the world.
However, the names of only 25 prophets are mentioned in the Quran. Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin pointed out that while Islamic scholars are of the view that India was the land of prophets, they were divided on whether Rama and Krishna were prophets of Islam.
They may or may not have been prophets. We want to remain silent on the issue. But it is the duty of every Muslim to respect the religious personalities of other religions, he said. According to All-India Muslim Personal Law Board general secretary Abdur Raheem Qureshi, some Indian Islamic scholars believe Dhul-Kifl, one of the holy personalities mentioned in the Quran, refers to Gautam Buddha.
There is no p sound in Arabic. Dhul Kifl means resident of Kifl or Kapil (Kapilavastu, where Buddha was born) Some scholars also hold that the Jain guru lord Mahavir was also a prophet.Islamic scholar Hafiz Shujat Hussain refers to the writings of the eminent thinker Moulana Tayyab Qasmi of Darul-Uloom Deoband, who had held that Rama and Krishna could also be prophets.
We should give utmost respect to Hindu prophets as we give respect to prophets from Hazrat Adam to Hazrat Muhammad, including Hazrat Musa (Moses) and Hazrat Isa (Jesus).City Muslim scholars also quote from Subhatul Marjan Fi Tarikhe Hindustan, written by the Islamic scholar Allama Ghulam Ali Azad Bilgrami in Arabic, which describes India as the first domicile of Adam.In Ayodhya, the birth place of Rama, there is a long grave. This is said to be the burial place Adam’s son Prophet Hazrat Shish, Hafiz Shujat told this correspondent.’
“Then the Shaytaan (Satan) made them slip therefrom (the Paradise), and got them out from that in which they were. We said: ‘Get you down, all, with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time’”
[al-Baqarah 2:36].
Despite that, the scholarly opinions concerning this matter differ.
Some of them said: Adam came down in India and Hawwa’ came down in Jeddah.
Al-Haafiz Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
Al-Saddi said: Allah said (interpretation of the meaning): “Get you down, all” [al-Baqarah 2:36]. So they came down; Adam came down in India and the Black Stone and a handful of leaves from Paradise came down with him, and he scattered them in India, and a perfume tree grew, which is the origin of what comes from India of perfume from the handful of leaves that Adam brought down. Adam only took them because of his sorrow at leaving Paradise when he was expelled from it.
‘Imraan ibn ‘Uyaynah said, (narrating) from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Saa’ib, from Sa‘eed ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbaas, who said:Adam came down from Paradise in Dahna, in the land of India.
It was narrated thatal-Hasan al-Basri said: Adam came down in India and Hawwa’ in Jeddah, and Iblees in Dastumeesaan a few miles from Basrah, and the serpent came down in Asbahaan. This was narrated by Ibn Abi Haatim.
And Allah knows best.
ADAM’S PEAK
Jutting sharply skyward from the lush jungles of southwestern Sri Lanka is the 7362 foot (2243 meter) peak of Sri Pada, the ‘Holy Footprint’. Also called Adam’s Peak, the mountain has the unique distinction of being sacred to the followers of four of the world’s major religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam. Long before the development of these religions, however, the mountain was worshipped by the aboriginal inhabitants of Sri Lanka, the Veddas. Their name for the peak was Samanala Kanda; Saman being one of the four guardian deities of the island. For Hindus, the name of the mountain is Sivan Adi Padham, because it was the world-creative dance of the god Shiva that left the giant footprint (5 feet 7 inches by 2 feet 6 inches). According to Buddhist traditions from as early as 300 BC, the real print is actually beneath this larger marking. Imprinted on a huge sapphire, it was left by the Buddha during the third and final of his legendary visits to Sri Lanka. When Portuguese Christians came to the island in the 16th century they claimed the impression to be the footprint of St. Thomas who, according to legend, first brought Christianity to Sri Lanka.

The past of Kashmiri Pandits is heartwrenching. Their plight is not highlighted as it should have been . It was not, probably because they are Hindus, especially Brahmins. In India Brahmins are the easiest and the soft target for vote mongers. The Sicular government that ran India as a family fiefdom, pretending themselves to be Kashmiri Brahmins, ensured Kashmir Pandits plight was not made public. One of my relative’s is married to a Kashmiri Pandit family. I attended the marriage and heard their story. Later, as President of Viswa Brahman Parishad, I met Kashmiri Brahmin ,Pandits nodal organization. I also spoke with the director of the Kashmiri Files,Sri. Vivek Agnihotri, about two years ago regarding the plight of the Kashmiri pandits.
I understand that Zee 5 is not inclined to promote the movie and is trying to underplay so that the movie does not get the exposure it deserves. Zee responded by saying that the movie will be on 500 screens. But it kept silent on the promotion point.# I was asked by my Kashmiri Pandit friends in Delhi to write so that the movie reaches people.

Kashmiri files is releasing on 11 March 2022 on OTT platform Zee 5.
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files releases this Friday, March 11. Last evening a special screening was held in Delhi which I had the privilege of attending. I am not a film critic, so the following is not a film review. Plus, how do you ‘review’ tragedies of people who have lived the trauma? These are a collection of my thoughts on seeing something on screen that sent a chill down my spine…
Former Indian Prime Minister Sri.Manmohan Singh with terrorist.
Review by TOI. Rendered refugees in their own country, based on testimonials of the survivors, the film makes a strong argument that this wasn’t just an exodus, but a barbaric genocide that continues to be brushed under the carpet for political reasons. Living in exile for almost 30 years, their homes and shops encroached by the locals, the Kashmiri Pandits (KP) continue to hope for justice and most importantly, to be acknowledged. It’s strange that not many films have broached this incident despite its gruelling impact on displaced families.https://m.timesofindia.com/entertainment/hindi/movie-reviews/the-kashmir-files/movie-review/90110494.cms?val=3728
Now in Pune efforts are being made to construct a test room for A muslim Graveyard over the remains of a Twin temple, Punyeswar and Narayaneswar. Pune is named after Punyeswar.
Reports say that the evidence about the existence of the temple is being destroyed to facilitate the building of rest room. And there exists Dargah which is over 700 years old. The argument is that an old landmark, the Dargah is to be preserved.
Remains of Punyeswar temple PuneChhota Shaikhsallah Dargah,Pune.
The temple is over 1000 year old. Which is an older landmark? And Dargah is not permitted in Islam. Detailed story.
The controversy over the remains of a Hindu temple on the premises of the Chhota Shaikhsallah Dargah premises erupted again after historian Pandurang Balkawde objected to the construction work on the historic dargah’s premises, reports the newspaper DNA.
The Hajrat Khwaja Shaikh Sallahuddin Algari Nizami Chisti Rahmatullah Alahi (Chhota Shaikh Sallah Dargah) is in the process of constructing a waiting room for the kin of the deceased at the graveyard on its premises. The dargah premises is situated at 1279 Kasba Peth near Kumbhar Wada, Dengale bridge.
Balkawde said that being a member of Samajik Ekata Va Sanskruti Raksha Samiti, he had made a representation to the state home department. He also submitted memoranda to the city police and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in 2008.
Mr. Pandurang Balkawade, a senior historian has demanded that the construction should be stopped and the structure should be declared as a ‘preserved vaastu’. The construction was undertaken for building rooms in the durgah. The digging has been going on for a month when ruins of the temple were found. The durgah is 700 years old. In the year 1294, Alluddin Khilji attacked Raja Ramdev Rai and took over the whole area. Some ‘Fakirs’ came to Pune at that time and they demolished the ‘Narayaneshwar and Punyeshwar’ temples to build durgahs, said Mr. Balkawade presenting various proofs for the same. The Muslims inside the durgah did not allow taking pictures of the temple and started saying that it was not a temple but a tomb. They claimed that there were tombs and it was a graveyard. The dead bodies used to be buried there by filling soil. There were stables earlier. When the Panshet dam broke and there were floods in the city, everything flowed away and only those stones are remaining now, said Ibrahim Attar, a member of Kasba Peth Muslim community. https://www.hindujagruti.org/news/9781.html
Two of the oldest structures in Pune, which have endured various regimes, are the two dargahs including the Thorla or senior, which lies opposite the Shaniwar wada and the Dhakta or Junior in Kumbharwada.
A Marathi manuscript titled Pune peth kaifiyat, found in an archive in the Government Oriental Manuscripts Library in Chennai, tells the peculiar tale of the dargahs. The manuscript begins with the story of rishi Purna, who meditated in this region. Arguably, the city was named after him. The kaifiyat describes the building of the temples of Puneshwar and Narayaneshwar on the Mutha river bank in the period of the Yadava rule from 9th to 13th centuries.
Punyeshwar Mahadev Mandir was a Shiva temple along the bank of the river Mutha in Pune. Along with Puneshwar there existed another temple named Narayaneshwar. In the late thirteenth century Puneshwar temple was pulled down[2] and converted into a dargah now called Dhakta (Younger) Sheikh Salla Dargah, which stands in its place to this day. The Narayaneshwar was also converted into the Senior Sheikh Salla dargah around the same time. In 2006, a wall along the river collapsed leading to finding of old artefacts of the Puneshwar temple under the dargah.
The temple remains one of the earliest named temples, after Pataleshwar in the city of Pune, although it does not exist in its original form now.
The city of Pune is named after Puneshwar. Wikipedia
Narayaneshwar Mahadev Mandir[1] and Puneshwar were two temples in Pune that were demolished[2] under the rule of the Delhi sultanate led by Nizamuddin and other religious preachers] The two preachers were later buried there. The dargah built over the Narayaneshwar Temple] is now the ‘Thorla (Senior) Sheikh Salla dargah’ and is located on the bank of the Mutha river, not far from the Shaniwar Wada.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narayaneshwar
There is a report that High court had observed that Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple has a Chakra called Bhugol Chakra,Circle of Geography, that describes the ozone layer in the atmosphere. The report.
The National Green Tribunal today rapped the Ministry of Environment and Forests for suggesting that ozone depletion is an international issue and asked its officials to visit Meenakshi Temple in Madurai to learn that India was aware of the ozone layer more than 700 years ago.
“Do you have any idea when did India became aware of the ozone layer and its significance? India was one of the first countries to know about the significance of ozone layer and the proof can be found in the more than 700 years old ‘Bhugol Chakra’ at the Meenakshi Temple,” a bench headed by NGT chairperson Swatanter Kumar said.
The green panel asked MoEF officials to visit the temple and check the “Bhugol Chakra” to know about the ozone layer which is a belt of naturally occurring ozone gas that sits 15 to 30 km above earth.
“You will find that even before 700 years, India was aware of the ozone layer. The ‘Bhugol Chakra’ has mentioned the significance of ozone and the ways how to protect it,” the panel said.
My ancestors are from Madurai and I have been in Madurai and visiting the temple quite often. The reference by the court is unclear. The chakra that is mentioned has nothing connected to Ozone layer. The Learned judge should clarify. There is no reference to Ozone layer as such to my knowledge of Ithihasas,Purans and in ancient Tamil literature.
