How Vedas Sanatana Dharma Tamil Quote Each Other

I received a comment for my Post Brahmin Migration 8000 years ago, DNA Proof.

    Scroll down for Video.

    This is it.(in Facebook)

“Hey, I visit this page often. The one posted here is quite confusing. There is a sentence,”Tamil quotes the Vedas and they quote Tamil.”… what does this mean exactly? Does it mean Vedas are classified in Tamil language? Does these Samhitas, Upanishads etc are in Tamil not in Sanskrit. If this is true then, Vedavyasa would be knowing Tamil, then he is a Dravidian. But he is born on the banks of river Yamuna a fisher woman and Parashara, son of Vasishta. The article talks about Rama’s ancestors, who are Dravidians migrated to North; this again implies many of north Indians are Dravidians. Then this disapproves the theory of migration of Aryans to Northern Indus region….quite confusing article. If meticulously read, it confuses still more.”

    Well, the mistake is mine,

Vedas were not written by the Brahmins
    Vedas

It was remiss of me not to have written a Post on the subject of Tamil and Vedas quote each other.

The same is the case with Ramayana and Mahabharata.

To clear the readers question ,

Tamil langauge does not have Vedas.

Vyasa was not born in the South.

The Aran Invasion is a Myth. Please read my Post on this

Now coming to Vedas and Tamil quoting each other.

The Vedas do not refer to Tamil  language directly, but it mentions the produce of Tamil Region, Sandalwood,Elephant Tusks,Pearls, special wood being used to kindle Homa Fire.

Vedic Rishi, Viswamitra banished his son to Dravida Desa and their descendant Apasthamba ,compiled the Apasthamba Sutra, combining the best of Vedic practices and Tamil Practices.

The Rig Veda Talks of Dasa and Dasyus.

‘Equating Dasyu with Manu is extremely significant. If Manu in this context were to represent the figurehead from whom all Arya descended, than this one statement, clearly seeks to differentiate origins of the Dasyu from the Arya. Since we know that Nahusa is a descendant of Manu and therefore the oft mentioned five tribes of Nahusa would also have descended from Manu, does this one statement then establish that the Dasyu, whoever else they may have been, were not people that belonged to the five tribes?

We have already seen above that the Dasa were a tribe and that they were “subdued” by the Arya. The question that remains to be answered is, were they one amongst the five tribes of Nahusa or distinct from the five tribes?

Verse RV 6.022.10 suggests that they were not one amongst the five tribes

    RV 6.022.10
Give us confirmed prosperity, O Indra, vast and exhaustless for the foe’s subduing.
Strengthen therewith the Arya’s hate and Dasa’s, and let the arms of Nahusas be mighty.

Why would the “arms” of Nahusa become “mighty” if one of its own constituents were subdued? The only plausible explanation therefore is that the Dasa tribe was not one of the five tribes.

Reaffirmation that the Dasa were a tribe (viz) may be found in Mandala II – RV 2.011.04. Indeed, the suggestion is that the Dasa were a collection of tribes.

    RV 6.011.04
We who add strength to thine own splendid vigour, laying within thine arms the splendid thunder-
With us mayst thou, O Indra, waxen splendid, with Surya overcome the Dasa races (viz).

Based on the evidence we have considered so far, it seems clear that the Dasa were a collection of tribes, distinct from the five tribes of Nahusa. While we can say for sure that the Dasyu were a people not part of the five tribes, whether they too were a distinct tribe or somehow related to the Dasa is not yet clear.’

Based on the present available evidence it may be stated that the Dasyu were not a part of the basic five tribes of the Rig Veda,

This could denote those who did not worship Agni, Fire, who were treated as Heretics.

This description fits the people of Dravida Desa, who did not worship Agni but Shiva.

This also confirms that the Shiva worship was in the South , they did not worship Fire, and were treated as outsiders by the Rig Veda.

But  other practices of the Vedas were followed by the Dravidas, Tharpana, Yagas and Yagnyas.

Sage Agasthya who composed Rig Vedic Hymns is credited, along with Lord Shiva, as the Founder of the Tamil Language.

“When we look at the Vedic Rishis, and their mantras, associations with later Siddha and Natha traditions, and their powers in the Epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata, we begin to see how they are much like the Nathas and Siddhas of later times also.

Agastya for example, teaches Rama the Solar-King in the Ramayana text in the science of Brahmastra (the weapon chant). These astras are found everywhere in Vedic texts, especially in the texts such as Mahabharata, where the mentors of the Aryan cousins, Kauravas and Yadavas are taught these by Drona, Bhishma and Karna.

These arte part of the Vedic martial arts systems, which are traced back to Parshurama, historically, Rama Jamadagni, the son of Vedic Rishi Jamadagni of the Bhargava (Brighu) Seer family. Interestingly, in southern regions such as Kerala, he and his Vedic martial arts traditions are still honoured.

The Rig Vedic Maruts appear to have had this science, as per their description as Seer-warriors, as also the Dhanurvidya (martial science) is described as a Vedic science in the early Upanishads, such as Brihadaranyaka.

The Vedic Gods, such as the Ashwins, the founders of Ayurveda or Vedic Medical Science, are also portrayed like Siddha or Nathas of later times, with their mystical, almost yogic powers.

One verse of the Rig Veda (VII.67.5) asks the Ashwins to assist us in battle with their powers (shaktis) and actually refers to them as Shachipatis or Lords of the Shakti or Power.

The Shakti is the yogi’s power in later Hinduism, and here seeing it appearing as a feminine term also shows it’s importance in relation to the Vedic Gods, and the siddhis (mystical yogic powers), since the Ashwins perform many feats through it.

They make cripples walk (I.117.19) and the blind to see (VIII.68.2), and put together the body of the Seer Shyava that was sliced in three (II.118.24)
and restore the head of Seer Dadhyak’s with that of a horse (I.117.24), in the Rig Veda.

The Queen, Vispala is given a golden left by the Ashwins, after hers is cut off in battle (RV.I.118.8). She is then able to fight again.’

The Dweeling Place of the Brahmins in the south, Agrahara is described in the  Perumpaanatupadai, a Sangam work, which is dated around 3000 years ago.

This is from Tholkaapiyam ,the earliest Tamil work, dated around 3000-5000 Years back.

    This could be older.

This poem describes the Brahmin presence in Tamil Nadu, then Dravida Desa.

Tamil Grammar assigns Gods for each of the five landmass, Kurinji, Marutham,Mullai, Neydhal and Palai.

Rama Date One Million Years Ago Gomphotheriidae Elephant Proof

Knowledge , in my opinion, is, jumping from one uncertainty to another.

The consoling factor is that the latest information is less uncertain than the earlier one.

( Hindu Texts say Knowledge is nothing but removal of ignorance, by stages)

Planetary Alignment At The Time of Rama’s Birth.

Lord Rama’s Date has been determined by various tools.

Please read my posts  on Dating Tools of Ramayana, Mahabharata.

Work in progress on the four-tusked elephant Stegotetrabelodon syrticus.jpg Image,Work in progress on the four-tusked elephant Stegotetrabelodon syrticus.

    Some of them are,

    Literary, both Indian and Foreign.

    Etymology from Sanskrit and Tamil.

    Cultural behaviour.

    Archeology.

    Astronomy.

Each one of these has its strength and weaknesses.

When we speak of archeology, it has to be borne in mind that when one digs he hits the top available layer of the site.

If the events had taken place over thousands of years, then the layers one finds may not reflect them as we would have it the first layer available, because the deposits of the earth would have covered the earlier ones.

In the case of Astronomy, by far the best tool, which none can tamper-with, has its peculiar problem.

Planetary Alignment at the Time of Rama's Birth..Image.jpg
Planetary Alignment at the Time of Rama’s Birth.

When one dates with the help of Astronomy, one must remember that astronomical events repeat themselves at regular intervals.

Which one has to be taken into account ?

The issue is very much relevant in dating the Indian Puranas and Ithihasa.

They cover vast stretches of Time.

Lord Rama Has been dated at 5114 BC.

    Please read my Post.

But the event verified by planetary  positions indicate, as I observed earlier, that there have been similar Planetary configurations.

So to determine the date, one has to seek the help of the other tools.

In this case, it is Valmiki’s Ramayana.

In the Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara-Kanda (or Book 5), Chapter 4, verse 27, [Gita Press, Gorakhpur, India] it explains that when Hanuman first approached Ravana’s palace, he saw the doorways surrounded by horses and chariots, palanquins and aerial cars, beautiful horses and elephants, nay, with four-tusked elephants decked with jewels resembling masses of white clouds.

Elsewhere in the Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara-Kanda (or Book 5), Chapter 27, verses12, an ogress named Trijata has a dream of Lord Rama, which she describes to the other demoniac ogresses upon awakening. In that dream she sees Rama, scion of Raghu, united again with Sita. Sri Rama was mounted on a huge elephant, closely resembling a hill, with four tusks.

(The question is how could there be a mention of the elephants with four tusks unless Valmiki and the people of his era were familiar with such creatures? A quick search on the Encarta Encyclopedia will let us know that these four-tusked elephants were known as Mastodontoidea, which are said to have evolved around 38 million years ago and became extinct about 15 million years ago when the shaggy and two tusked Mastodons increased in population.”)

    Valmiki does not lie.

His facts check out in Geographical descriptions and astronomical events.

Wherever he has used Hyperbole, it is easily distinguishable.

Those  who know Sanskrit know how to identify them.

    (Sundara Kanda 9th Sarga 4 – 5 Slokas)

Here, Sage Valmiki describes elephants with four tusks and also those with three tusks and those with two tusks.

    You find India missing!

Now  History of Biology proves that,

“The Gomphotheriidae were a diverse taxonomic family of extinct elephant-like animals (proboscideans). Referred to as gomphotheres, they were widespread in North America during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs, 12–1.6 million years ago. Some lived in parts of Eurasia,Beringia and, following the Great American Interchange, South America. Beginning about 5 million years ago, they were gradually replaced by modern elephants, but the last two South American species, in the genus Cuvieronius, did not finally become extinct until possibly as recently as 9,100 BP, and Stegomastodon remains have been dated as recently as 6,060 BP in the Valle del Magdalena, Colombia. Gomphotheres also survived in Mexico and Central America until the end of the Pleistocene

Ramayana took place in the Treta Yuga, according to Valmiki and other Puranas.

    Treta  Yuga was about ,

“The duration of the Tretā-yuga is 3,600 x 360, or 1,296,000 years. The duration of the Dvāpara-yuga is 2,400 x 360, or 864,000 years. And the last, the Kali-yuga, is 1,200 x 360, or 432,000 years in total.” (Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 3.11.19) . These 4 yugas follow a timeline ratio of (4:3:2:1).

That’s about a Million Years ago.

(Please read my Post Million Year Old Tamil Quotes Vedas)

Hence the astronomical calculation being cited to date Rama at 5114 BC can be revised to the same astronomical Event around one Million ago.

So Lord Rama can be dated around One Million years ago, considering this evidence and the dates of Dwaraka(Dated 32 000 years ago), the earliest dwelling Tamil Site in Chennai which is a Million Years old.( and Tamil quotes Ramayana)

Tamil Connection To Cameroon Central Africa

When  posted an article that World’s Oldest Temple built by Brahmins, in Gobekli Tepe,Turkey, there were criticisms that the site was 11000 Years old and hence my claim that it was built by Indians is wrong as the Ramayana is s on Sanatna Dharma spread dated only around 5000 BC.

Flag of Cameroon.Image.png Flag of Cameroon.

I replied through my post My Posts On Sanatana Dharma Spread Reply to Critics.

I have been trying to validate the archaeology Astronomy, Cultural and Linguistic similarities, references in the Indian Legends, Puranas, Ithihasa, Ancient  and local refernces and Sanskrit /Tamil Literature

I had posted articles on the existence of Tamils in the Paleolithic Age  and we have Gondwana ,Lemuria to contend with.

One more curious fact I have found is that while the History  of  Arabia is totally not available for the period preceding Prophet, I have a post on this, the  details of ancient African Religion and languages have been brushed aside by a statement that the ancient Africans were barbaric and there were only dialects and no civilization.

I do not subscribe to this view.

Now here is the evidence , based on Linguistics, that the present   a tribe of Cameroon, one among the 220, uses a Dialect that is a mixture of deformed as well as chaste Tamil!

They use even the current Tamil words in vogue.

    Please watch the Video.

The statements in the Video are true excepting the explanation for the word Gramam as Gramam is a Sanskrit word and does not have connotation as explained the Video.

Cameroon /ˌkæməˈrn/, officially the Republic of Cameroon (French: République du Cameroun), (German: Republik Kamerun), is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Cameroon’s coastline lies on the Bight of Bonny, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. The country is often referred to as “Africa in miniature” for its geological and cultural diversity. Natural features include beaches, deserts, mountains, rainforests, and savannas. The highest point is Mount Cameroon in the southwest, and the largest cities are Douala, Yaoundé, and Garoua. Cameroon is home to over 200 different linguistic groups. The country is well known for its native styles of music, particularly makossa andbikutsi, and for its successful national football team. French and English are the official languages. After independence, the newly united nation joined the Commonwealth of Nations, although the vast majority of its territories had previously been a German colony and, after World War I, a French mandate.(wiki)

Based on linguistic evidence, there is a tribe in Cameroon whose dialect is a mixture of deformed and chaste Tamil. They even use current Tamil words in their language. This evidence shows a potential connection between the Tamils and Cameroon. Cameroon is a culturally and linguistically diverse country located in Central Africa, and it is home to over 200 different linguistic groups.

As one of the oldest and most vibrant cultures in the world, Tamil has had a strong connection to Cameron over the centuries. This connection is seen in its people, language, history, and even its food.

Tamil is one of the most widely spoken languages in Cameron. It is estimated that around 15% of the population speaks Tamil, making it second only to English in terms of spoken languages. This is largely due to the large population of Tamil people living in Cameron who have been here for generations. Many of them trace their ancestry back to South India and Sri Lanka, though recent arrivals have also come from Malaysia and Singapore. This has created a unique Tamil-speaking community in Cameron that is distinct from those found elsewhere in the world.

The Tamil language has also had a strong influence on the culture of Cameron. For example, many Tamil words have been incorporated into Cameron’s English language, and can be heard in everyday conversations. Additionally, a number of Hindu festivals are celebrated throughout Cameron that have their roots in Tamil culture, such as Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi.

The history of Cameron is also closely linked with Tamil culture. For example, many of the early settlers in Cameron were Tamil speakers, and they brought with them their own customs and beliefs which have been passed down through generations. The ancient kingdom of Kedah was also heavily influenced by Tamil culture, with many religious symbols and statues being found throughout the region. Additionally, several Tamil kings ruled the region during its history, leaving behind an indelible mark on its culture and history.

Finally, there is the cuisine of Cameron which has been heavily influenced by Tamil culture throughout its history. Traditional dishes such as appam (rice pancakes) and vadai (fried lentils) are commonly eaten, along with curries and other dishes that are rooted in South Indian cuisine. In addition, many traditional desserts such as payasam are made from ingredients found in India, such as jaggery (cane sugar), cardamom, and coconut milk.

All of these elements come together to create an incredibly strong bond between Tamil culture and Cameron. From its people to its language, history, and food, there is no denying that this connection has had a tremendous impact on this country over the centuries.

  • Sanskrit From Shiva’s Damaru Maheswar Sutras

Tamil Classical literature and Tamil grammar Texts Agathiyam and Tholkaapiyam declare that Tamil Language was revealed by Lord Shiva as the Language of Mortals,Manusha Basha.

    Nataraja .gif
Nataraja, A Form of Lord Shiva

This, Lord Shiva, is reported to have given to Sage Agastya and Lord Shiva presided over the first Conclave of Tamil Poets.

The second conclave of Tamil Poets was presided over by  Lord Subrahmanya, who is called Muruga in Tamil, the term Murugu in Tamil meaning ‘Exquisite Beauty’, which might denote both Muruga and Tamil.

The Tamil language is so organised that the Form of Muruga is represented by the Tamil Language.

I shall be posting on this.

Now I have come across the information that Sanskrit Language, which the Puranas describe as the Language of Gods, was from the sound of Lord Shiva’s Damru, a percussion instrument which adorns Lord Shiva’s hand.

After completion of His Cosmic dance,Shiva sounded His Damaru as the Universe was being created.

These sounds create maintain regulate and destroy the Universe.

Semen and Sound are mentioned as the Creative Force  of the Universe.

Lord Subrahmanya is worshiped as the embodiment of both.

    Nada Bindu Kaladi Namo.

Bindu may be translated as Semen in the physical plane and as stages of spiritual development in Nada Yoga.

“A damaru (Skt.damaru; Tibetan ཌཱ་མ་རུ; Devanagari: डमरु) or damru is a small two-headed drum, used in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism.Damru is known as the instrument of Lord Shiva. Damru was first created by Shiva to produce spiritual sounds by which this whole universe has been created and regulated…

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the damaru is part of a collection of sacred implements and musical instrument was adopted from the tantric practices of ancient India. These reached the Land of Snows from the 8th to 12th century, persisting in Tibet as the practice of Vajrayana flourished there, even as it vanished in the subcontinent of India…

There are two types of Damaru, Skull Damaru and Chod Damaru.

The fourteen sutras contain all the letters of the Sanskrit varnamala- the svaras (vowels) a, i, u, R^i, lR^i, e, ai, o, au and all the vyanjanas (consonants). As per the Rig Veda Lord Shiva brought this Sanskrit alphabet sequence, and the Sanskrit language to earth. The sounds of the alphabet originated from Lord Shiva’s ‘damru’, probably some kind of a sound device.

  • My 28 Names For Intelligence Wisdom Lord Subrahmanya Murugan

Skanda worship is very important in the Vedas.

While organizing the innumerable Deities mentioned in the Vedas and those followed by misinterpretations of the Vedas, Adi Shankarachatya gave the pride of place in the Shanmathas, the six systems of worship, The Kaumaram.

    Lord Subrahmanya.

The Tamils speak of Lord Subrahmanya, best among Brahmins, as Murugan, embodiment of Beauty and the Tamil Language represents Lord Muruga in all his aspects.

Innumerable Hymns abound in Sanskrit,Tamil and other Regional languages of India.

Lord Subrahmanya is called as Karthikeya in India other than Tamil Nadu where he is worshiped as Murugan.
