  • Rama Used Atom Bomb Against Atlantis Mohenjo Daro

    Mohenjo-daro reveals  the exposure to Atomic Radiation, possibly caused by an Atomic blast.

    The Brahmastra mentioned in Indian Epics and Puranas is capable of this devastating effect.

    To my knowledge Valmiki does not seem to refer to the  extensive use of Brahmastra in the Valmiki Ramayana.

    The instance  was when Indrajit used it against Hanuman and as Hanuman prayed Brahma( and he had a oon from Brahma as well) it did stun him and he was not killed nor the effects to the environment were devastating..

    ‘◾Vishvamitra used it against Vasishta, but the Brahmastra was swallowed by Brahmadanda, Lord Brahma’s countermeasure against the Brahmastra.
    ◾In the Ramayana a Brahmastra is used by Shri Rama several times: once against Jayanta (Indra’s son) when he hurt Sita, against Mareecha in their last encounter, against the Ocean when he did not answer his prayer to allow his army and himself to cross over to Lanka and finally in the last battle with Ravana.
    ◾It is also mentioned in the Vedas that a Brahmastra was aimed by Shri Rama to carve a path out of the sea so that the army of apes could march towards Lanka, however at that moment, Varuna appeared and told Lord Rama about the technical flaws of using the weapon and hence it was later aimed towards Dhrumatulya by Lord Rama, which fell at the place of modern day Rajasthan causing it to become a desert. Also Indrajit aimed a Bhramastra at Lord Lakshman on the final battle between him and Lord Lakshman, however the deadly weapon returned because Lakshman himself was the avatar of Trinity.(How many times Brahmastra was used)

    Though Brahmastra  was not used other than these instances, there seems to have been evidence of Atomic blast in India, in Mohenjo Daro.

    The Brahmastra was not used in the area mentioned above in the Ramayana, though this is the place where Kara and Dushana came from.

    Moheno Daro atomic Blast. At one site, Soviet scholars found a skeleton which had a radioactive level 50 times greater than normal. Other cities have been found in northern India that show indications of explosions of great magnitude. One such city, found between the Ganges and the mountains of Rajmahal, seems to have been subjected to intense heat. Huge masses of walls and foundations of the ancient city are fused together, literally vitrified! And since there is no indication of a volcanic eruption at Mohenjo-Daro or at the other cities, the intense heat to melt clay vessels can only be explained by an atomic blast or some other unknown weapon.     They came to Dandakaranya and Rama defeated them.

    So the Mohenjo- Daro area was not a victim of Atomic Bomb.

    Nor was it used in the Mahabharata Times.

    The place in question was called Angsa Desa, of which Karna was the King(Karna was anointed as the King of Anga)

    Given the fact that there had been atomic radiation in Mohenj- Daro, how can we account for it since Rama did not seem to have used it, nor any one in the Mahabharata in the area?

    There seems to me one logical answer to this.

    Lord Rama had conquered the whole of world, I had published the Map of Rama Empire.

    If Rama had annexed these area he had to have won over them.

    If so, whom did he defeat?

    I checked world History, Legends,and Folklore.

    As explained in these articles, there seems to have been Four major civilizations then.

    Rama’s Empire,

    Atlantis Empire,

    Uighur Empire and

    Lemurian Empire.

    Of these Uighur was not very advanced and Lemuria which had been on the wane was trying to recoup.

    They were suppressed by the Atlantis people.

    In the Atlantis, Osiris’ son Horus entered into an alliance with Rama to defeat Seth who was trying to become independent in the Sumerian valley.

    ‘

    King Atlas (King Of Atlantis) and Prince Osiris (heir to the throne) desired to create secondary domains where they could re-establish the Lemurian Empire . This intention was thwarted by the actions of Osiris’ younger brother, the Emperor Seth. As present ruler of the Libyan/Egyptian Empire (that covered all of Africa), Seth decided that with the fall of Atlantis his Empire (in league with the rebel Sons of Belial) was to be its last stronghold. He made it his goal to re-establish the Atlantean Empire with himself as its all-powerful, ‘divine right’ emperor (of the world).

    ‘conflicting objectives resulted in deadly warfare between Osiris and his brother Seth. Leading Osiris’s Egyptian armies was Osiris’ eldest son Horus. After Osiris’ unfortunate ‘death’, Horus succeeded his father as king of the Libyan/Egyptian Empire. Intuitively, Horus knew what would happen when they landed in Libya. He completely distrusted his uncle. Horus persistently warned his father about Seth’s stubbornness and treachery. Osiris, believing in the goodness of the human heart, initially ignored his son’s advice. Subsequently, Osiris landed in Libya and after Seth’s abdication became Emperor’

    After the demise of Osiris, his son Horus entered into a pact with Rama Empire(Emperor Zata’ar’s eldest son, Prince Rama.) to defeat Seth, the usurper.’

    The Atlantis army met with Rama’s Army in Rishi City, now in Pakistam.

    Now read this.

    Vallmiki ends the Ramayana with Rama’s Coronation, Pattabhisheka and therfore we have no information on Ram’s conquest of the world, after his victory over Ravana.

    In this instance, there are two observations by me.

    Did Rama use Brahmastra?

    In which case the following version does not really support the Atom Bomb theory as Rama seems to have stopped the advancing army by making the army generals drop dead.

    Or was the Astra differnt?

    Or did Rama use his astra as mentioned here(Yogic Posture), after the Atlantis people had used the Brahmastra?

    The latter explanation seems to tally with the state of Mohenjo Daro Radiation.

    I am searching for more information.

    ‘Atlantis Drops A-Bomb on India

    The Lemurian Fellowship (an esoteric group formed in the 1930’s) lessons state:
    During the heyday of Atlantis and Rama, both the Ramayana and the Lemurian Fellowship agree that other advanced civilizations were also in existence. According to the Lemurian Fellowship the Osiris Civilization existed in what is today North Africa and the Mediterranean Basin, and the Uiger Empire ruled over what is today the Gobi Desert. Yet of all of the civilizations, Atlantis and Rama were supposedly the two most developed.

    These two cultures had developed advanced technology, which they shared between themselves and the rest of the world. It had been mainly developed in Atlantis and would seem like science fiction to us today, just as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata seem like science fiction. Not only did they have aircraft such as vimanas and valixi (as the Atlantean craft was called), they had weapons such as fireballs that could destroy a whole city…(etc.).

    According to the Lemurian Fellowship, as Atlantis and Rama reached the height of civilization, war broke out between them. The Atlanteans, a highly technical and war-like culture were bent on conquering the world. Subjugating the Rama Empire was an important step in their plan.

    An interesting episode in the Atlantean history as related by the Lemurian Fellowship involves the Atlanteans sending a well-equipped army to India in order to subjugate the Rama Empire, demanding surrender, tribute and acceptance of Atlantean rulership.

    The Priest-King of Rama stated they didn’t believe in war, and asked them to leave in peace.

    Arrogantly, the Atlanteans did not believe that the Indians had the power to stop them, certainly not by technical means. At dawn, the Atlantean army began their march on the city.
    Sadly, the Priest-King watched the army advance…He raised his arms heavenward and, using a yogi technique, he caused the general and each officer in descending order to drop dead in their ranks, apparently by heart attack. The Atlanteans fled. Of the seige of the Rishi City, not one man from the Rama Empire was lost. (Stranger Than Science, Frank Edwards, 1959).

    The Indian Epics, especially the Mahabharata, pick up the thread of the tale from here and go on to tell of the rest of the horrible story; a story of devasation and destruction. Apparently Atlantis, displeased at it’s humiliating defeat, decided that they were no longer interested in subjugating the Rama Empire, and decided instead to annihilate the major cities using weapons so destructive that the Sanskrit scholars could not comprehend what was being described in the Epics until the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan.

    These are authentic verses from the Indian Epics:
    “Gurkha, flying a swift and powerful vimana
    hurled a single projectile
    charged with all the power of the Universe,
    An incandescent column of smoke and flame,
    as bright as ten thousand suns,
    rose with all its splendor.

    It was an unknow weapon
    and iron thudnerbolt,
    a gigantic messenger of death,
    which reduced to ashes
    the entire race of Vrishnis and the Andhakas.

    …After a few hours
    all foodstuffs were infected…
    …to escape from this fire
    the soldiers threw themselves in the streams
    to wash themselves and their equipment.”

    “An ancient, heavily populated city in Pakistan was instantly destroyed 2,000 years before Christ by an incredible explosion that could only been caused by an atomic bomb. That’s the mind bogging conclusion of a British researcher, David Davenport, who spent 12 years studying ancient Hindu scripts and evidence at the site where the great city – Mohenjo Daro once stood. What was found at the site of Mohenjo Daro corresponds exactly to Nagasaki, declared Davenport, who published his startling findings in an amazing book, “Atomic Destruction in 2000 B.C.”, Milan, Italy, 1979.

    There was an epicenter about 50 yards wide where everything was crystallized, fused or melted, he said. Sixty yards from the center the bricks are melted on one side indicating a blast. the horrible, mysterious event of 4,000 years ago that leveled Mohenjo Daro was recorded in an old Hindu manuscript called the Mahabharata, “White hot smoke that was a thousand times brighter than the sun rose in infinite brilliance and reduced the city to ashes, the account reads. Water boiled…horses and war chariots were burned by the thousands.. . the corpses of the fallen were mutilated by the terrible heat so that they no longer looked like human beings…”. The description concludes, “it was a terrible sight to see … never before have we seen such a ghastly weapon”.

    Based on his study of many ancient manuscripts, Davenport believes that the end of Mohenjo Daro was tied to a state of war between the Aryans and the Dravidian. Aryans controlled regions where space aliens were mining minerals and exploiting other natural resources, he believes. Because it was a Dravidian city, the aliens had agreed to destroy Mohenjo Daro on behalf of the Aryans. The aliens needed the friendship of the Aryan kings so that they could continue their prospecting and research, explained Davenport. The texts tell us that 30,000 inhabitants of the city were given seven days to get out – a clear warning that everything was about to be destroyed. Obviously, some people didn’t heed the warning, because 44 human skeletons were found there in 1927, just a few years after the city was discovered.

    I incline to agree with the view that Rama used the Bomb in Ramayana.

    The issue has to be resolved.

  • Rama’s War With Atlantis Ramayanas Missing Chapter

    As the facts mentioned in the Ramayana by Valmiki, stand the test of available resources, Astronomy dating,Carbon dating, literary evidences from both internal and external,etymology of the words , cultural practices being practiced throughout the world, I take Valimiki seriously because of description of landmarks around the world, including the Nazca Lines of Peru, Vaikanasa Theertha in Russia, now called Baikal and many more references.I have written on all these.

    Now One finds the name of Lord Rama, Dasaratha and Bharatha in Sumerian Kings List.

    And there are Rama remains throughout the world.

    I have, sometime back published an article Rama’s Empire Covered the world

    One nagging doubt I had.

    If Rama had conquered the world and established his Kingdom, whom did he defeat to gain these areas?

    And how come Rama’s name is found in the Sumerian Kings list.

    There was another powerful group of Kings in India, south of the Vindhyas.

    They were treated as Dasyus since the Vedic period, rebels who though following Sanatana Dharma, were not strict follower of all Vedic thought.

    Yet cordiality existed between the Tamils and the Sanatana Dharma people of the North.

    Yet Rama does not seem to have sought the help of these powerful Kings in his fight against Ravana.

    As a matter of record Ravana concluded a peace treaty with a Pandya King(read my post here )

    Why did Rama choose the Vanaras,despite the fact that the Tamil Kings had cordial relationship with Ikshvaku Dynasty and these Kings were present in the Swayamvara and marriage of Rama with Sita?

    In fact, Rama’s ancestor Satyavrata Manu, father of Ikshvaku, the founder of Ikshvaku dynasty was from the south and migrated to North before the great flood.(read my post here)

    There seems to have been some issues between Rama Empire and the Tamils in between the time, the Tamil kings attending the Swayamvara and the defeat of Ravana.

    Contrary to misinformation Rama though hailed from Ayodhya was originally from South and a part of Lemuria.

    Why , then Rama, should be alienated from the Lemurians, other than Ravana?

    Ravana as not in good terms with the Tamil kings as he repeatedly attacked Pandya Kingdom at Madurai and was defeated..

    He sued for peace and entered into a treaty with the Pandya king.

    So, considering the later empire of Rama throughout the world, could there be some global reasons to this ?

    The answer to this has to found in the empire of Rama and the kings he had defeated to establish His empire.

    I searched.

    As Rama’s name has been found in the Sumerian King List, I checked Mesopotamia and Sumeria back ground.

    We find Sanatana Dharma remains in these areas,not restricted to Rama alone.

    There were three civilizations since 30,000 years ago.

    First Illuminatus, Gruad, rules in Atlantis.

    15,000 BC

    Tiahuanaco, the height of the Lemurian remnant, begins construction.

    12,000 BC

    Indian country of Rama existed. Remains of their large cities still exist in the deserts of India and Pakistan (Mohenjodaro). Indian texts from this period tell of anti-gravity space ships called Vimanas, or Astras, and a war with the Atlanteans on the moon. Curiously, Soviet scientists have discovered what they call “age-old instruments used in navigating cosmic vehicles” in caves in Turkestan and the Gobi Desert. The “devices” are hemispherical objects of glass or porcelain, ending in a cone with a drop of mercury inside.     This new Indus river civilization allowed Horus to establish a temporary chain of powerful fortress cities in the Sinai. Thus, Horus was able to attack Seth’s forces and later kill Seth in a mighty battle.

    And when forces attacked Rama at Rishi Valley , they were defeated by Rama.

    Thus for service rendered Rama go the territories in Sumeria.

    Valmiki  concludes the Ramayana with the coronation of Rama and nothing more is heard of him later from Indian sources (at least to my knowledge) except extolling Rama’s virtues and reading Ramayana

    Knowing Valmiki for his graphic details and narration of facts, in my opinion, he would not left this information.

    As there are many versions of Ramayana, we might have lost a chapter detailing  Rama’s empire.

    This could have been before Rama’s departure from this world

    And there followed the first( or second) Great flood after Rama’s period, as recorded in world literature.

  • Hanuman Returned From Lanka 5076 BC 11 AM Speed 660Km

    Indian Epics ,Ramayana and Mahabharata stand the test of Astronomy.

    Also on Mahabharata.

    Mr.Pushkar Bhatnagar of Indian Revenue Service, with the help of a software named ‘Planetarium Gold’ (of Fogware Publishing) has made a detailed study.

    This is used to predict the solar/lunar eclipses and distance and location of other planets from earth by the scientists and astronomers. He entered the relevant details about the planetary positions vis-a-vis zodiac constellations narrated by Maharishi Valmiki and obtained very interesting and convincing results, which almost determine the important dates starting from the birth of Shri Rama to the date of his coming back to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.

    Mr. Pushkar Bhatnagar  written a Book in his book ‘Dating the Era of Lord Rama’ published by Rupa & Co.

    He made use of this software to date the Ramayana in detail.

    I am referring here about the Flight of Hanuman from Lanka to Rameswaram.

    ‘Only six of the twelve constellations remain above the horizon at the same time. Valmiki’s Ramayan contains graphic and poetic details of eight constellations during Hanuman’s return journey from Sri Lanka to Sunaabh Hill in the middle of the sea which apparently took about four and a half hours from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. All these details of planets and nakshtras with reference to eight constellations described in Sarga 57(1,2,3) of chapter 5 tally exactly with the sky view generated by the software for the morning of 14th September 5076 BC.”

    But since Hanuman was flying across, and it must have taken him approximately four hours to get there (Lanka to Rameswaram), he could see eight constellations— in two hours one constellation would have moved out of sight and another become visible. So in a period of four hours he saw eight constellations. Following is the excerpt from Chapter 57 of Sundara Kanda:

    “ Like a winged mountain Hanuman sailed over the airy sea; Yakshas looked like the lotus flowers, Gandharvas moon,  the sun its water fowl, Tishya and Sravana Nakshatras its swans and the clouds its reeds and moss. Punarvasu was the whale and Lohitanga (Mars) the crocodile,  Airavata the spacious island, Swati, its decoration in the form of a swan; the breezes were its billows and the rays of the moon its cool and peaceful waves”.

    The above passage is a metaphor and refers to the stars Shravana (Capricorn), Tishya (Gemini), Punarvasu (Gemini/ Cancer), Lohitanga ( Mars or red star Jyeshta)(Scorpio) and Swati (Libra). Lohitanga in Sanskrit means planet Mars. But he might have meant red star Jyeshta (Kettai in Tamil). Airavata is Indra’s heavenly elephant Vahana/vehicle. But here it means a star.’

    1, 2, 3, 4. hanumaan= Hanuma; maarutagatiH= with a rush equal to that of wind; aparishraantaH= without a fatigue; pupluve= leapt across; apaaram= the boundless; gaganaarNavam= sea analogous to sky; mahaanauH iva= like a large ship; saagaram= crossing the ocean; ramyam= pleasant; sachandra kumudam= having the moon for a white water-lily; saarkakaaraN^Davam= the sun for a water-fowl; shubham= auspicious; tiSyashravaNakaadambam= having the constellations known by the names of Pushya and Shravana for swans; abhrashaiVaalashaadvalam= the clouds for its duck-weeds; punarvasumahaamiinam= the twin constellations, the Punarvasus, for its large fish; lohitaaN^ga mahaagraham= the planet Mars for its large alligator; airaavata mahaadviipam= Airavata (Indra’s elephant) for a large island; svaatihamsaviloLitam= graced with a swan in the form of the constellation Sati; vaata samghaatajaatormi= having gales for its waves; chandraamshushishiraambumat= and the moonbeams for its cool water; bhujaN^ga yakSa gandharva prabuddha kamalotpalam= with the Nagas, Yakshas and Gandharvas for its full-blown lotuses and water-lilies.

    • There is variation in the dates of Rama.some date it to 7000 BC.I have written on this as well.
    • As I have explained in a separate Post dating based on Astronomical events has this problem of the Celestial events recurring at fixed intervals.This makes it difficult to assign a date to a specific incident as the Astronomical events recur.

  • Ravana Reserve Army Atlantis Rama Atlantis War

    Valmiki provides a lot of Geographical information in the Ramayana.

    Most of them are found when he describes the Aranya vasa of Lord Rama., his search for Sita, his travel to Lanka, Rama’s return from Lanka by Pushpaka Vimana and Sugriva’s directions to his army about the possible places where Ravana could have taken Sita.

    Of interest is the description by Sugriva about the Nazca Lies of Peru ad Russia, though one can find references to other countries as well.

    ‘A grieved Ravana soon collected himself and sent word for his reserve forces all over the globe (moola bala sainya). That was a frightful army that Ravana did not think of using against these ‘puny creatures’ at all. He considered it below his dignity to use such a powerful force against humans and monkeys. It was like killing a fly with a sledgehammer, for him. In fact, Kumbakarna had advised him otherwise.     Valmiki also talks about the Moola Sainya in the Yuddha Kada

    And the location of Kara and Dushana who were killed by Rama.

    And there is this point of Hanuman flying to Lanka,

    The Adams Bridge, Rama Sethu is about 30 Kms from Rameswaram, India

    But Valmiki says it is about 800 Miles!

    And there is evidence that Hanuman traveled at a speed of 660Kms/hour!

    I recalled about Lemuria and Atlantis.

    Lemuria is the Lost continent of the Tamils.

    And the US is the Patala Loka.

    Plato’s description of Atlantis reminds me of the descriptions of the Patala Loka, inhabited by the Rakshasas.

    The presence of Hanuman ad his son Makaratwaja in Central America and the reference to Tamil Kings of the south of Vindhyas made me wonder whether there is any connection between Atlantis. Ramayana and Lemuria.

    Considering the distance covered by Hanuman in his flight to Lanka,

    The Lanka of Ravana could not have been where it is today,( Please red my Post)

    Lemuria and Atlantis being different entities and that The Tamils occupied that land,

    Atlantis had the Sanatana Dharma presence, including the Rotating city of Tripura, which was destroyed by Shiva,

    Shiva migrated towards the west of India, when a great flood struck South India(when Rama’s ancestor Sathyavrata Manu migrated to Ayodhya),

    The presence of Shiva in these countries, including the Nazca Lines of Peru and Mecca, Petro Jordan having Shiva Temples,

    Rama’s name is found, along with Dasaratha and Bharatha in the Sumerian Kings List,

    Shiva worship preceded the Sanatana dharma in the south,

    The Rakshasas having bee present in this land, where the Moola Sainya of Ravana was kept,

    Ravana having been a Shiva worshiper,

    Hanuman and Makaratdwaja is found in Honduras,

    The land mass at these times was different than what we find today,

    Thiruvannamalai in South India being 3 Billion years old,

    There is a room in Romania which is connected to Iraq,Kailsh,

    Gobekli Tepe was built by Brahmins.

    It stands to reason that The Atlantis people were a part of Sanatana Dharma .

    And there is evidence to suggest that there was a great war between Rama and the Atlanteans.

    Ravana was in Lemuria, had his Reserve army in Atlantis

    There is also a view that ET were involved in this.

    ‘Some Wedha and Jain manuscripts, among others, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata it contains evidence of historical and technological overview of Rama’s dynasty which is believed to have experienced the golden age of the seven main cities ‘Seven Rishi City’ which is one of Mohenjo Daroo (Northern Pakistan).

    – Residents of Atlantis has an aggressive nature and led by the clergy (priests Enlighten), according to Plato’s text.

    – Rama dynasty has seven major cities (Seven Rishi’s City) with the capital city of Ayodhya where one of the results found are Mohenjo-Daroo.

    – Competition of the civilization reached its peak with the use of nuclear weapons.

    – The experts found that the debris and the remains of human skeletons found at Mohenjo-Daroo containing radioactive residue that can only be produced by large-scale thermonuclear explosion.

    – In a seloka of the Mahabharata, narrated by the figure of a weapon of mass destruction is a result similar to the present nuclear weapons.

    – Some Seloka Wedha and Jain in the book is explicitly and completely describe the shape of the ‘flying vehicle’ called ‘Vimana’ that its characteristics resemble flying saucers today.

    Most of the written evidence it was in India in the form of literary texts, while the physical evidence would be in the western world the Pyramids in Egypt and South America.

    In short all the above investigations denounce mankind had advanced in the civilization of Atlantis and Rama. Even long before man ever entered the century 4000SM space and nuclear technology. But the golden age was ended by a devastating nuclear war until the aftermath, people had time to go back to primitive times to the advent of Sumerian civilization around 4000SM or 6000tahun ago.’

    In my search o find Sanatana Dharma presence throughout the world,I often stumble upon interesting information by scholars of various countries.

    They come from a background which may not have exposed them to our Ithihasas, Puranas and Vedas.

    In such cases these scholars present their facts as their culture and literature.

    Now I have come across information that Homer Plagiarised and produced his Odyssey from Valmiki Ramayana.!

    In the adaptation of Homer, Rama is Ulysses – a married king who abandons his wife Penelope, first throughout the campaign of Troy, and then for many years of wandering, from bed to bed, from heart to heart and from bad to worse. The Greek people have a good laugh, the sages blanched. For those who had kept the memory of the great Ram, ridiculing its fascinating and terrible saga was a crime, at least a serious lack of taste. The memory of the great Ram was already fading among the Greek.

    “On 16th April, 1178 BC, a solar eclipse occurred and is believed to have marked the return of Odysseus, legendary King of Ithaca, to his kingdom after the Trojan War. He discovered a number of suitors competing to marry his wife Penelope, whom they believed to be a widow, in order to succeed him. He organized their slaying and re-established himself on the throne. The date is surmised from a passage in Homer’s Odyssey, which reads, “The Sun has been obliterated from the sky, and an unlucky darkness invades the world.” This happens in the context of a new moon and at noon, both necessary preconditions for a full solar eclipse. Further clues from the text included reference to Venus being visible and high in the sky six days before, and the constellations Pleiades and Boötes both being visible at sunset 29 days before.”

    This odd text contradicts itself from the second line. How could this eclipse marked the return of Ulysses, called “legendary king of Ithaca”? If Ulysses is legendary, why look for vain traces of his existence? Ulysse has replaced Rama, and this eclipse marked the sudden return of Ram after his wars of conquest in Asia. Rama found his Western Kingdom in the hands of unworthy suitors. He resumed his throne, restores ramaic order, and returns to manage the other kingdoms that comprise his global empire, ie Egypt and Middle East, India and China, Central and South America”

    Ramayana Odyssey Similarities.

    In the course of a conspiracy hatched by jealous queen ‘Kaikei’, Prince Rama of the kingdom of Ayodhya is expelled. The queen’s initial plan is to bring her own son Bharatha to kingship. Prince Rama leaves the palace with his beloved wife Sita and Prince Lakshmana and lives in the jungle. Valmiki illustrates Rama’s exploits and heroism in the jungle and how Rama battles with ‘Rakshas’ (the jungle dwellers).

    Ultimately Ravana, the chief of the jungle dwellers tactfully removes Rama from his jungle home and abducts Sita to Sri Lanka. Rama, accompanied by Hanuman the general of apes and Lakshmana, pursue Ravana in his flight to Lanka. Hanuman builds a type of massive bridge across the sea with boulders and Ravana is killed in the fierce battle that ensures. After testing Sita’s chastity by fire, Rama takes Sita back to Ayodhya and coronation of Rama in the kingdom takes place amidst festivities.

    We see that legends of Ramayana have been woven around true events at the time when Indo-Europeans were crossing the valleys of river Ganges. Ramayana describes a period of time which was extremely similar to the period which Homer of Greece described. On the other hand, Homer composed his epic ‘Odyssey’ to illustrate the life and heroic battles by Odysseus, the hero, who ultimately wins his beloved Penelope, identically enough, Ramayana eulogises Rama’s feats in his attempt to save Sita in captivity.

    Odyssey

    In Odyssey, Homer represents battles, heroic deeds and events which bear clear resemblance to those illustrated by Valmiki in Ramayana. A hero named Odysseus who comes for the battle of Troy from the country of Ithaca, is imprisoned by a marine mermaid in an island on his return journey. All Greeks believe that Odysseus must have died on his return from the battle.

    But his beloved girl Penelope earnestly believes that he is alive and totally unaware of his imprisonment, waits for him for years.

    Gods are in favour of this imprisonment because the hero Odysseus blinded the chief of the one-eyed giants in their island. Later, the Gods entreat Calypsio the marine mermaid to release Odysseus and he returns to his country after numerous hardships and adventures.

    His beloved Penelope is being troubled by suitors (Princes) in Odysseus absence but she stays vehement in her rejection. Ultimately the hero (Odysseus) kills the Princes and recovers the kingdom. (Here Penelope has been constantly supported by Telemachus her son).

    In Odyssey, the hero is supported by his son, Coronos and gods just as Rama is strengthened by Hanuman and Lakshmana in Ramayana. Like Penelope in Homer’s work, Sita, perfect in chastity, expects Rama always beside her and regards him as her sole protector and lover. When Rama is expelled into the jungle, she passionately exclaims.

    A married woman is always by her husband’s side and regards him more important than house work… As any objects is accompanied by its shadow, so is the woman to her beloved husband… So please allow me to find him in the agreeable jungle and enjoy his warmth and love which are far more dignified than luxuries in this palace…”
