Clinton ends tough Pakistan trip-BBC

She has, at last, called a spade a spade;that Pakistan is behaving like an ostritch as for as AlQeda is concerned;Pak has received more from US than what Pak has done for US;their military and intelligence agencies are in cahoots with terrorists;that they have to plan for their country and not totally dependent on foreign aid for their economic growth by investing their own money.
Any self respecting Pakistani has to accept all these points .
Are there people out there to worry about their country?

Story:
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been meeting tribal leaders in north-west Pakistan on the last day of a testing visit to the country.

During her three-day trip Mrs Clinton hoped to strengthen ties between the US and Pakistan and tried to address a rising tide of anti-American feeling.

In an interview with the BBC she urged Pakistanis to “realise the connection” between al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

But her arrival was overshadowed by a deadly bombing in the city of Peshawar.

More than 100 people died when a car bomb exploded in a busy market on Wednesday.

The BBC’s Jill McGivering says that a great deal of anger in Pakistan is focused on the US – widely seen as interfering and destabilising Pakistan for its own ends.

Very true on all counts. The ordinary Pakistanis must know that there is no such thing as free meal and they have to pay a heay price later.
Yes,India should be wary of Both US and China and also ensure that it emerges as a power to be reckoned with both economically and militarily and choose to exercise that power at least in the diplomatic front.

The three hour closed door meeting with the Army Chief and the ISI chief was the all important part of the three day visit.

It would be naive to make out too much from the occasional straight talking that Mrs Clinton did, when cornered by the media and public.

The US-Pakistan relation goes back many decades, and there is certainly much more than meets the eyes. Inspite of all the drama of diplomatic spats, generous financial and military aid will continue to flow to Pakistan. Pakistan will always be special to the US, simple because there is no other nation on earth that would do its dirty works with such enthusiasm. This also means the US would retain their capability of playing dirty games against any nation in the region including India.

India needs to be extremely carefull in its business deals with the US, specially buying arms.

My guess is that, US will not let go the option of balancing India with Pakistan in the short to medium term. Their long term strategy will largely depend on what kind of power India turns out to be in the next couple of decades.
