SMS Limited To 100 a Day .

Considering the ease with which the youth send SMS,assuming that it takes one SMS per Minute, they might be spending an hour forty minutes under the new dispensation.

I have seen people sending 250-400 SMS a day!

However, it is illogical for TRAI to step in and limit the SMS access.

The reason quoted by them that the measure is taken to discourage Telemarketing is absurd.

Since the rule applies to a SIM,I suspect this is a ruse to help Service providers to sell more SIMS.

As youth say, it is an infringement of Right to Expression.

But it is advisable that people do not send high number of SMS as this practice leads to certain disorders.

People who spend more time in sending  SMS develop nervousness, restlessness and exhibit symptoms of Nervous Disorder when separated from the Mobile Phones.

The ‘Per Day Per Sim’ (PDPS) rule of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), announced last year, comes into effect on September 20. It would have been in force by now, had it not been for a postponement earlier this year.

Mobile phone users have started receiving SMS-es from service providers, warning them that the good time is about to end. “Dear customer, as per Trai regulations, w.e.f 20/9/11, you can send only 100 SMS-es in a day. It is also applicable on existing packs,” read the text, much to the chagrin of the student community, which thrives on SMS.

According to sources, Trai clamped down on the 100-SMS limit after a survey found that an average mobile user has about 100 contacts.
