It is really funny that Anna Hazare who started with the slogan of rooting out corruption and rattle the system/establishment through the Gandhian means of Satyagraha and Fast is now running to SC for protection.
Protection from whom?
The Government which you were intent on taking on?
If you believe that Supreme Court can exercise power over the Executive, it is a welcome sign.
Well established institutions can take on any Government,no fresh movement or agitations or the so-called fasts are necessary.
( this is precisely the point on your useless paper pushing Bills while correct application of present laws will suffice to take on any corruption. What is lacking is individual integrity)
On the other hand if you believe, I do hope you believe, that the system needs cleansing up, running for cover is ridiculous.
You should stand alone with out with/with out media and white collared Reformists, believing only in Truth.
The Gandhian tool of Satyagraha and fasting is built on the Spiritual Principle of Truth and Nonviolence.
The fortitude to face violence with Non Violence is an essential part of Satyagraha.
It is fearless.
Fasting is not about the number of days you can fast but the conviction you have of your principle and the ability to stand up to anything, come what may.
Cowards in the guise of Gandhian fast can not pull a fast one.
The reason between the success of Gandhian fast and the others lie in this fact alone. What one needs is absolute faith in one’s conviction and moral fortitude to withstand obstacles.
Gandhiji never went to Privy Council before undertaking a fast nor did he undertake Fast in installments.
Please do not insult Gandhiji by your antics.
It hurts people who revere Gandhiji.
Apprehensive about the provocative statements by Congress leaders, Gandhian Anna Hazare will seek the Supreme Court’s protection in the run-up to his fast beginning on August 16. Hazare and his team will file a petition with the apex court this week citing the “unconstitutional” statements made by Congress ministers and other leaders to suppress a democratic movement. The move gains significance following the police action against Baba Ramdev in June. …
“Government said we will suppress the agitation of Anna Hazare as had been done in the case of Ramdev. Is this democracy or autocracy? You cannot suppress… That is why we will go to theSupreme Court tomorrow,” Hazare said. He had announced that he would go on an indefinite fast from August 16 if a strong Lokpal bill was not introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament.
