Australian man turns Santa, gives away belongings.-Why don’t we give away?

When you reach the age of around fifty(though age is no barrier),you start reflecting on what you have done with your life.
When I introspect, I feel I have done nothing that is worth while.Coming from modest beginnings, I have reached ,as far as I am concerned a level which,at the start of life I have never imagined I shall reach. In fact I am surprised at what I have than what I do not have. Many a times when I yearned for something I got it.But the joy of possession was short lived and instead concern about retaining it had been upper most in my mind.Added to that is he fact the very things I yearned for and got, lost their appeal and over a period time became irritating to me.I was desperate to get rid of them This includes relationships as well.Unfortunately I have not been able to do it.
Come to think of it, whatever the achievements of Great men like like Caesar,Aleander,Plato,Socrates, the Great Rishis of India,Great politicians, reformers, thinkers, of what use?In the ultimate analysis, when compared Universe, we are not even a speck and we are not even noticed at the the local level, why talk of Universe?
What we have including our body is not of our making..Every thing we think we own is not ours. When we leave, we leave as we came.

Why have possessions?
SYDNEY (Reuters) – An Australian man has embraced the spirit of the season, taking on the role of a real-life Santa and giving away his possessions as gifts for the second Christmas in a row.

Last Christmas, Dennis Stevenson opened his home and gave away all his belongings. This year, he opened a makeshift shop in the Gold Coast in Queensland to again distribute seasonal cheer and invited others to donate as well.

“It’s a lovely thing to do to continue the spirit of Christmas” Stevenson told Reuters on Thursday.

Stevenson opened The Spirit of Christmas shop on December 22 and says that 90 percent of his goods had been taken.
