Erich Von Daniken in his Book Chariot of The Gods has advanced a theory that the Aliens have visited the treat and altered our genetic code.
In the course of his theory, he mentions about the Atomic explosion in Mahabharata and speaks of The Pushpaka Vimana of Ravana and calls it a Spaceship.
Evidence coming to light of date and advanced dating methods have proved that the Indian Epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata were not mere stories but facts.
Puranic statements have also been found to be true.

Pushpak Vimana was not a fiction.Bhardwaj Muni had written a treatise in Sanskrit Yantra Sarvasvam.It had a chapter on Aeronautics.It was “Vaimaniki”.It had mentioned eight types of aircrafts.One of them is powered by Mercury.In 1895 one Vaidik Sanskrit scholar Shivhari Talpade demonstrated an aircraft built on the principles mentioned in Vaimaniki.It went up in the sky upto a height of 1800 feet and remained flying in the air for fifteen minutes.And then landed safely.Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad of Baroda was a witness to this demonstration and its news was published inKesari of Lokmanya Tilak.But soon thereafter wife of Talpade died and he became disillusioned.After some time he too expired and his experiment remained incomplete.One Relly brothers purchased all the literature and model developed by Talpade and took it to England and then to Germany.And in 1903, eight years after Talpade’s experimental flight, Right brothers demonstrated their aeroplane.And credit for developing aeroplane was given to Right brothers and not to Talpadeji.

Along with Maharaja Sahyajirao of Baroda the then justice Mahadev Ranade was also present when Shri Talapade demonstrated the plane. Talapade actually built this plane under the sanscrit guidance of on Shastri from Nagpur. I forgot the name of this Shastri but will try and find more a about this. Shastri and Talpade new far more about advanced aerodynamics than we think today. However under British pressure no funds were made available to him and finally Talpade decided not to reveal the advanced knowledge. The Chinese have recently done a lot of research on this ancient knowledge.
Actually, I too have developed a pushpak viman. It can fly to Mars and back.
