A depressed father who trawled the internet for ways to kill babies before his daughter was found dead in her cot spoke of his ‘long ordeal’ as he walked free from court yesterday.
Architect Mark Bruton-Young posed smiling with his wife, who has stood by him throughout, after being found not guilty of murdering their baby Harriet.
During his two-week trial, the prosecution claimed he had smothered six-month-old Harriet with a pillow after struggling with male post-natal depression.
Internet has opened up new frontiers of information and knowledge.
Those with the Aptitude can now get what they seek in their quest.
At the same time it also has noticeable disadvantages ,apart from browsing porn,is total reclusivity from other activities.
Browsing Social Network, people tend to forget that this can never replace person to person contact and being empathetic with others.
Emotions can never be shared effectively unless they are shared in person.
Over dependence might lead to Internet addiction, as in Mobile Addiction.
Some signs of Internet addiction are:
Internet addiction disorder (IAD), or, more broadly, Internet overuse, problematic computer use or pathological computer use, is excessive computer use that interferes with daily life.[1] These terms avoid the distracting and divisive term addiction and are not limited to any single cause.
Online activities which, if done in person, would normally be considered troublesome, such as compulsive gambling or shopping, are sometimes called net compulsions. Others, such as reading or playing computer games, are troubling only to the extent that these activities interfere with normal life. Supporters of disorder classification often divide IAD into subtypes by activity, such as excessive, overwhelming, or inappropriate pornography use, gaming, online social networking, blogging, email, or Internet shopping,Opponents note that compulsive behaviors may not themselves be addictive.
Start by listing the things you do online. Organize them according to importance. Probably the one at the top of your list is not that important but is the major cause of your addiction.
Now list the benefits you will get if you reduce the time you are on the Internet. These could be increasing productivity, better relationship with family and friends, or becoming healthier.
Set the limits. If you have household chores, tasks at work, or anything that you need to do, do them first, then allot time to spend online each day. Don’t forget to allot enough time to sleep as well.
Strictly follow the schedule. Make a punishment if you don’t follow it. It can be as severe as having your Internet connection at home cut off or not logging on the Internet for a day.
The use of the Internet is not really evil, but it can turn that way if its use is not kept in check. It surely is difficult to quit spending a lot of time on the Internet, that is why you must have other things to do like going out with friends, or engaging in a new sport. The Internet is not life.
Ask Psychiatrists, how many of them have conflicts in their lives which they have resolved?
Nothing but what normal day to day wisdom ,handed down the ages.
How many Stress or Depression cases they have cured with out resorting to Drugs or how(Psychiatrists) many of them have cured their Depression!
To confound all this, they resort to drugs which are more harmful than the disease.
To cap it all,this!
Story.
In the UK, children are under assault, diagnosed with fraudulent mental disorders and forced onto dangerous and addictive psychotropic drugs.
With prescription sales rocketing and government screening programmes on the rise, the stimulent drug industry is big business, raking in over £33 million a year in the UK alone.
In 2013, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) will publish the fifth edition of itsDiagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a thick, well-respected publication that contains the latest diagnostic criteria, drawn from rigorous scientific studies. But only a few decades ago, the slender DSM-II reflected a very different field, with vague definitions of psychiatric illnesses based on scanty scientific data. Everywhere, psychiatry departments were dominated by psychoanalysts, who focused on Freudian theory
Back in the day, psychiatrists used to actually consult intimately with their patients and provide some type of personalized, talk-based therapy as part of their practice. The modern-day approach to psychiatry, however, has become more like a series of drug dealingsessions in which psychiatrists will briefly consult with their patients and prescribe them drugs for their problems.
A recent report at Ocala.com explains that over the past several decades, many psychiatrists have abandoned the personalized approach totherapypartly because insurance companies will often not pay for it, and thus it is not worth their time. But another likely reason for the switch todrugvending is that it simply pays better than actually having to deal withpatientsand try to help them in a non-drug way.
The Ocala.com report mentions a psychiatrist who has been practicing for nearly 40 years. In his early days, he consulted with and treated, at most, 60 patients once- or twice-weekly, which included a 45-minute talk therapy session. Today, he sees roughly 1,200 people every week for quick 15-minute sessions, and sends them on their way with drugs. This approach has become the norm, not the exception. And this particular psychiatrist is even quoted as saying that he has had to train himself out of actually caring about people’s problems, and instead focus on basically getting them out the door and on their way.
“It’s a practice that’s very reminiscent of primary care,” said Dr. Steven S. Sharfstein, former president of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the president and chief executive of Sheppard Pratt Health System, to Ocala.com. “They check up on people; they pull out the prescription pad; they order tests.”
The entire field ofpsychiatryhas been on a downward spiral for years, though, as the “Disease Mongering Engine” literally invents new diseases every year — which are really just normal, everyday human behaviors that vary based on personality, by the way — and comes up with drug interventions to treat them. It is a highly lucrative drug dealing business that profits at the expense of human health(http://www.naturalnews.com/028280_p…).
To see a psychiatrist in today’s environment is like playing Russian Roulette with yourhealth. If able to evaluate every person on the planet, the average psychiatrist would surely find a problem or two with each one. And within five-to-ten minutes, he or she would be able to prescribe a laundry list of medications to treat those alleged disorders. So in other words, if you value your health, stay far, far away from modern-daypsychiatrists.
Without Stress ,organisms will not be to bring out the best in them, react appropriately.
Inappropriate reaction may lead to the extinction of Life.
When one fights for air, water and other basic needs the urgency is felt and the organism reacts and it is basically instinctive.
Related:
Stress has both a psychological and physiological effect. Psychologically it affects our emotions causing such things as anger, frustration, fear, burnout, anxiety and depression. Physiologically, stress increases the risk of everything from warts to cancer.
People tend to mistake Stress for Anxiety, which is detrimental to health.
Anxiety is a conscious deliberation of the events, course of action one is about to perform or has already performed.
Stress is that which drives to take a course of action which you can not avoid.
These are indicated above in the order of priority to the Organism. When there is a clash of Instincts(which happens at all times during Life) among themselves ,Conflict arises.
These Conflicts are resolved by the organism on the basis of priority to ensure its survival.
For instance, if there is a choice before a Man Water and Food when he is both Thirsty and Hungry, he will choose Water.
Similarly when there is clash between Hunger and Thirst ,Thirst will score.
While resolving these Conflicts, the organism is torn between the instincts and we feel the Stress.
Normally Stress is resolved biologically by the Organism.
But the Cognitive instrument we call the Mind starts analyzing and it causes anxiety.
We completely forget that in the battle between the Heart and Mind Heart always wins.
We presume that Mind does.
Therefore the essential problem does not concern Stress per se but our cognition of it.
Mind is the instrument.
One needs to train the Mind to manage Stress.
Eradicating Stress is not possible.
Stress will cease ony when we die.
But we can manage Stress by Simple Practices.
More on this subject follows.

Stress and anxiety become serious problems when triggered too frequently, for too long or by situations that do not pose a particular threat or challenge.
The very dependence on Technology is addictive and harmful. We have addiction to mobiles, internet and studies are on the subject(pl.read my blogs on Health).
Controlling impulses is not good for the individual, suppressed impulses stay at the level of the Unconsciousness and manifest themselves in mental disorders of some kind or another.
Advisable to channelize impulses;try staying away from doing away from things you find is becoming compulsive.
Better to mange these things by mental discipline /practice.
One should try not to get shackled by fixed habits;this is detrimental to mental health.

With the new year days away, many tools are now available to help people stay in line, including a GPS-enabled app that locks down texting once a car gets rolling and a program that cuts off credit-card spending. Another device monitors your workout and offers real-time voice feedback………..
Some car owners are voluntarily using a technology developed for convicted drunk drivers – ignition locks attached to in-car breathalyzers.
Shelley Snyder, marketing coordinator for Intoxalock, said about 1.5 percent of the company’s clients are voluntary, which includes parents imposing the setup on their young drivers.
As I’ve mentioned on here several times, I have a weekly piano lesson, something I enjoy very much. On my way to my lesson, I drive by a bookstore and a game shop. On my way home from my lesson, I drive by that same bookstore and same game shop.
Every week, especially on the way home, I’m tempted to stop. I see the game shop coming up on the right and I get an impulse to stop there. I see the bookstore a little bit later on the left and I get an impulse to stop there.
