  • Kings List India By Puranas Validated

Indians believe the Timeline of India’s History as explained by William Jones and his followers, though their theory on the dates assigned to events and persons have been proved to be incorrect by many references and most importantly by archeology.

If one were to mistrust the Hindu scriptures, the Nastika System of jainism which denies the authorit of the Vedas, has provided informationwhich tallies with the timeline and events portayed by the Puranas.

Secondly the Archeological finds dispprove the dates assined by William Jones and others and show that the events and people had happened/lived much before the dates indicated by them

Our history textbooks tell us that Magadha (not Ayodhya) was one of India’s first kingdoms and that Buddha and Mahavira were contemporaries who lived in/ around Magadha around 600 BCE. However, when we visit the sites of India’s so-called earliest centres of civilization (e.g., Sarnath where the Buddha preached his first sermon), we see evidence from the Jain tradition that its earlier Tirthankaras8 were already living in that city hundreds of years ago.9 On top of this, the Jains appear to share the same hoary past as the Hindus do, with their first Tirthankara (Rishabhadeva) believed to be the king of Ayodhya more than 20 generations before Mahavira.

In addition to the Jain tradition, the history preserved in our native chronicles – the Puranas – appears to have some support from archaeology as well. Although most of the sites described in the Puranas are now populated and hence cannot be excavated, the few non-inhabited sites (e.g., Dwaraka) exhibit evidence of ancient civilizations. This begs the question as to whether we should truly discard the traditions preserved in India’s native chronicles or take the trouble to re-examine them in a new light. This essay presents the chronology of India as preserved by its native historians and tests the validity of this chronology when compared to independent accounts of ancient India.

The accepted chronology of ancient India is based on William Jones’s identification of Sandrocottus with Chandragupta Maurya, the first king of the Mauryan empire. This identification serves as the basis for determining the era of Buddha, the dates of the subsequent kings of Magadha and of other kingdoms of India. According to this chronology, Chandragupta Maurya ascended the throne of Magadha around 315 BCE. However, the Puranas as well as Megasthenes’s account of the milieu he lived in present a compelling case for debunking this identification and associating Sandrocottus with Chandragupta I, the founder of the Imperial Guptas. According to the Puranas, Chandragupta Maurya was crowned in 1538 BCE, Ashoka was crowned in 1489 BCE, and Chandragupta I ascended the throne of Pataliputra around 315 BCE in time to be the monarch referred to as Sandrocottus when Megasthenes arrived in Pataliputra in 302 BCE. This essay presents the evidence for this Puranic chronology and aims to resolve other conundrums in Indian history, such as the age of Vikramaditya and Adi Sankara, with this revised timeline.”

Then one has the astronomical data.

    This authenticates the Puranic Data.

The problem with the astronomical data is that celestial events occur repeatedly at a fixed intervals and as such the difficulty lies in matching a particular astronomical event with the events described by our Puranas.

Then one has Kalpas, a Kalpa being one day f Lord Brahma, the Creator and He creates 14 Manvantaras.

This crestes additional dificulties to identify the Manvanatara, Kalpa and a particular event.

This one can resove by referring to the Sankalpa being used by the Hindus for every religious  event.

Please read my post Geo Tagging, Sankalpa.

I became curious to check all these because i has found a refernce stating that Satyavrata Manu , the ancestor of Lord Rama migrate from the South to North because of a Tsunami.

He went to Ayodhya and founded the Dynasty called Ikshvaku.

There are five floods recoreded in Indian legends, both in Sanskrit and Tamil.

This we can resolve by matching this information with references found in other texts and by archeology.

The following verified information spurred me to search and arrive at a Kings List of India according to Puranas ans Tamil Classics.

1.Lord Rama’s Date of Birth, Marriage,Exile, Ramayana War.

    2.Mahabharata War.

3.Agasthya’s crossing over to South through the Vindhyas.

    4.Tamil Classics’s refernce to Tsunamis.

5.The ancestry of Tamil Cholas to Manu and of Pandyas antiquity.

6.The feeding of the armies of Kauravas and Pandavas by a Tamil King, Udiyan Neduncheralaathan.

7.The artifacts and archeological finds of the remnants of Sanatana Dharma throuhout the world.

And the Bhagavata reference to Satyavrata Manu leaving th south for the North because of a Tsunami.

I have posted articles on all these issues, under Hinduism.

  • Lunar Dynasty India Chandra Vamsa of Mahabharata List

Indian legends speak of two dynasties that ruled India, Surya, Solar and Chandra Vamsa, Lunar Dynasty.

Lord Rama belonged to Ikshvaku of Surya,Solar Dynasty while the Kauravas and Pandavas belonged to Lunar Dynasty or Chandra Vamsa.

However, Vivaswan, the father of Vaivaswatha Manu of Solar Dynasty has been identified as Surya Deva (The Sun).

Chandra is said to to be a son of Atri Maharshi, (a son of Brahma) or of the ocean (Ksheera Sagara Mathanam).

Chandra’s son Budha married Ila the daughter of Vaivaswata Manu and their son Pururavas inherited Pratishthanapura.

    Both these dynasties are related.

The Tamil Dynasty of Cholas descended from the Solar Dynasty of Rama while Pandyas from the Chandra Vamsa, Lunar Dynasty.

  • First Chola King From Kasyapa Gotra Manu Dynasty.

I had posted an article that the Tamil Chola Kings were the descendents of Lord Rama’s Ikshvahu Dynasty and posted the list of Kings.

I have come across information on the origin of the term ‘Chola’ and the founder of Chola Dynasty.

There seems to have been three distinct Cholas.

    King Rajaraja Chola

1.The Pre Sangam Cholas belonging to Ikshvahu Dynasty.

2.The later Cholas, of whom the Great Rajaraja Chola was one.He built the Thanjavur Brahadeswara temple  and established an Empire extending from the Godavari Basin in the north to Sri Lanka, then called Elam.( Fifth century BC to Third Century AD),

3.Rettapadi Cholas, who ruled in and from what is now called Andhra Pradesh.

The word Chola, according to Col.Gerini, is from the Sanskrit word Kaala, or Kola meaning black, indicating that the ancestors of the Cholas were pre historic Dravidians who were black. The word Kola became Chola, avers Gerini.

But Tamil Grammar does not lend to this view.

Another view is that the word Chola came from the word ,’Choozh,சூழ்’, meaning ‘surround.

The earlier group of the Cholas were possibly Nomads ,traveling widely in around Tamil Nadu and later when they formed a Kingdom, the term became Chola.

Scholars think, rightly so, that this explanation is quite labored.

    There is yet another explanation.

The name Chola is the name of the Dynasty by itself,

The first King named, according to Kanyakumari epigraph ,, founChola Varman founded the Chola Dynasty.

Chola Varman started chasing Raksasa Rajanijaran, who assumed the shape of a Deer .

He chased the Deer and killed it.

Then he took bath in the River Cauvery.

On not being able to find a Brahmin anywhere nearby, he brought Brahmins from the north, provided them with lands and cows and ensured that they performed the Yagnyas.

The land became prosperous, the Tamil word for this is ‘ செழித்தது’

    This word became Cholas .

Chola Varman’s successors stated using this term ever since.

Chola Varman is from the Surya Vamsa, Solar Dynasty( to which Lord Rama belonged).

He is the descendant of Manu.

He was from the Kashyapa Gotra.

This information is from the Kanakumari Epigraphs.

Many Tamil Scholars do not agree to this stating that one need accept information contained in the epigraph or Copperplates to be true because they are found there.

Second objection is that the narration of one turning into a deer is not possible.

The same scholars quote the same Kanyakumari epigraph to validate information on the other Cholas .

They also accept the Anbil, Uthiramerut epigraphy.

But when one finds a reference to Sanatana Dharma, they immediately find curious arguments to deny the facts.

The theory that Cholavarman founded the Chola dynasty seems to tally with my theory that Vaivastha Manu left from Dravida Desa to North because of a Tsunami to found Ikshvahu Dynasty.

I shall be writing another version from Thiruvaalkaadu Plates.

And that seems to be more credible and backed by cross reference to Purana list of Ikshvaku,Puri Dynaties.

Please read my post Rama’s ancestors Dravida.

  • Raping Rules Of Islam Female Slave Book Issued ISIS

That the ISIS is a fundamentalist state,to state it mildly.

The atrocities being committed by them are beyond one’s imagination.

What pains me most is the mute reaction of the Islamic community.

Slaves captured by ISIS, woman walking desolate.jpg
ISIS captures Women and treats them as Slaves.

I hear that the majority of Muslims are against this.

But I do not seem to have heard any thing so far.

Or are they doing this job of condemning so publicly that none hears of it?

If an obscure magazine which no one would have heard of otherwise, had published some innocuous remark or a Cartoon on Muhammad, from a country like Iceland,Norway, there would have been vociferous protests starting from Muslim Countries, down to our street Mullahs and Imams.

Probably these people consider the atrocities as not worth noting!

Now ISIS has issued a Pamphlet explaining the justification, nay a diktat, for Raping woman they have captured.

Read this atrocity of a directive.

    Scroll down for the Video.

    “Question 1: What is al-sabi?

“Al-Sabi is a woman from among ahl al-harb [the people of war] who has been captured by Muslims.

“Question 2: What makes al-sabi permissible?

“What makes al-sabi permissible [i.e., what makes it permissible to take such a woman captive] is [her] unbelief. Unbelieving [women] who were captured and brought into the abode of Islam are permissible to us, after the imam distributes them [among us].”

“Question 3: Can all unbelieving women be taken captive?

“There is no dispute among the scholars that it is permissible to capture unbelieving women [who are characterized by] original unbelief [kufr asli], such as thekitabiyat [women from among the People of the Book, i.e. Jews and Christians] and polytheists. However, [the scholars] are disputed over [the issue of] capturing apostate women. The consensus leans towards forbidding it, though some people of knowledge think it permissible. We [ISIS] lean towards accepting the consensus…”

“Question 4: Is it permissible to have intercourse with a female captive?

“It is permissible to have sexual intercourse with the female captive. Allah the almighty said: ‘[Successful are the believers] who guard their chastity, except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are free from blame [Koran 23:5-6]’…”

“Question 5: Is it permissible to have intercourse with a female captive immediately after taking possession [of her]?

“If she is a virgin, he [her master] can have intercourse with her immediately after taking possession of her. However, is she isn’t, her uterus must be purified [first]…”

“Question 6: Is it permissible to sell a female captive?

“It is permissible to buy, sell, or give as a gift female captives and slaves, for they are merely property, which can be disposed of [as long as that doesn’t cause [the Muslim ummah] any harm or damage.”

“Question 7: Is it permissible to separate a mother from her children through [the act of] buying and selling?

“It is not permissible to separate a mother from her prepubescent children through buying, selling or giving away [a captive or slave]. [But] it is permissible to separate them if the children are grown and mature.”

“Question 8: If two or more [men] buy a female captive together, does she then become [sexually] permissible to each of them?

“It is forbidden to have intercourse with a female captive if [the master] does not own her exclusively. One who owns [a captive] in partnership [with others] may not have sexual intercourse with her until the other [owners] sell or give him [their share].”

“Question 9: If the female captive was impregnated by her owner, can he then sell her?

“He can’t sell her if she becomes the mother of a child…”

“Question 10: If a man dies, what is the law regarding the female captive he owned?

“Female captives are distributed as part of his estate, just as all [other parts] of his estate [are distributed]. However, they may only provide services, not intercourse, if a father or [one of the] sons has already had intercourse with them, or if several [people] inherit them in partnership.”

“Question 11: May a man have intercourse with the female slave of his wife?

“A man may not have intercourse with the female slave of his wife, because [the slave] is owned by someone else.”

“Question 12: May a man kiss the female slave of another, with the owner’s permission?

“A man may not kiss the female slave of another, for kissing [involves] pleasure, and pleasure is prohibited unless [the man] owns [the slave] exclusively.”

“Question 13: Is it permissible to have intercourse with a female slave who has not reached puberty?

“It is permissible to have intercourse with the female slave who hasn’t reached puberty if she is fit for intercourse; however if she is not fit for intercourse, then it is enough to enjoy her without intercourse.”

“Question 14: What private parts of the female slave’s body must be concealed during prayer?

“Her private body parts [that must be concealed] during prayer are the same as those [that must be concealed] outside [prayer], and they [include] everything besides the head, neck, hands and feet.”

“Question 15: May a female slave meet foreign men without wearing a hijab?

“A female slave is allowed to expose her head, neck, hands, and feet in front of foreign men if fitna[enticement] can be avoided. However, if fitna is present, or of there is fear that it will occur, then it [i.e. exposing these body parts becomes] forbidden.”

“Question 16: Can two sisters be taken together while taking slaves?

“It is permissible to have two sisters, a female slave and her aunt [her father’s sister], or a female slave and her aunt [from her mother’s side]. But they cannot be together during intercourse, [and] whoever has intercourse with one of them cannot have intercourse with the other, due to the general [consensus] over the prohibition of this.”

    “Question 17: What is al-‘azl?

Al-‘azl is refraining from ejaculating on a woman’s pudendum [i.e. coitus interruptus].”

“Question 18: May a man use the al-‘azl [technique] with his female slave?

“A man is allowed [to use] al-‘azl during intercourse with his female slave with or without her consent.”

“Question 19: Is it permissible to beat a female slave?

“It is permissible to beat the female slave as a [form of]darb ta’deeb [disciplinary beating], [but] it is forbidden to [use] darb al-takseer [literally, breaking beating], [darb] al-tashaffi [beating for the purpose of achieving gratification], or [darb] al-ta’dheeb [torture beating]. Further, it is forbidden to hit the face.”

Question 20: What is the ruling regarding a female slave who runs away from her master?

“A male or female slave’s running away [from their master] is among the gravest of sins…”

“Question 21: What is the earthly punishment of a female slave who runs away from her master?

“She [i.e. the female slave who runs away from her master] has no punishment according to the shari’a of Allah; however, she is [to be] reprimanded [in such a way that] deters others like her from escaping.”

“Question 22: Is it permissible to marry a Muslim [slave] or a kitabiyya [i.e. Jewish or Christian] female slave?

“It is impermissible for a free [man] to marry Muslim or kitabiyat female slaves, except for those [men] who feared to [commit] a sin, that is, the sin of fornication…”

“Question 24: If a man marries a female slave who is owned by someone else, who is allowed to have intercourse with her?

“A master is prohibited from having intercourse with his female slave who is married to someone else; instead, the master receives her service, [while] the husband [gets to] enjoy her [sexually].”

“Question 25: Are the huddoud [Koranic punishments] applied to female slaves?

“If a female slave committed what necessitated the enforcement of a hadd [on her], a hadd [is then] enforced on her – however, the hadd is reduced by half within the hudud that accepts reduction by half…”

“Question 27: What is the reward for freeing a slave girl?

“Allah the exalted said [in the Koran]: ‘And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass [hell]? It is the freeing of a slave.’ And [the prophet Muhammad] said: ‘Whoever frees a believer Allah frees every organ of his body from hellfire.’

How does one react to this?

    Background of the story:

More than 2,500 Yazidi women have been captured by the hardline terrorist group, according to work carried out by a team of researchers from Bristol University’s Gender and Violence Research Centre. The team is led by Nazand Begikhani, an adviser to the Kurdistan regional government on gender issues,

“These women have been treated like cattle,” she told CNN. “They have been subjected to physical and sexual violence, including systematic rape and sex slavery. They’ve been exposed in markets in Mosul and in Raqqa, Syria, carrying price tags.”

Yazidi activists say that the number of women missing is closer to 4,600.

According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, MEMRI, who translated the pamphlet, it was likely released in response to the public uproar about the kidnapping and treatment of the Yazidi women.

In the pamphlet, titled Su’al wa-Jawab fi al-Sabi wa-Riqab (“Questions and Answers on Taking Captives and Slaves”), ISIS justifies capturing the women due to their unbelief in Islam. “Unbelieving [women] who were captured and brought into the abode of Islam are permissible to us.”

One is lead to belive that Christ taught the value of Perfection, Poverty and Preaching.

For precisely following the same, entire population was wiped out, towns destroyed and people were suffocated to death by closing the mouth of Caves where they hid from the marauding Crusaders ordered by Pope Innocent III.

As is usual, the Crusade was more about political power, as it was  when Constantine had the Old Testament compiled,

“The medieval Christian sect of the Cathars, against whom the crusade was directed, originated from a reform movement within the Bogomil churches of Dalmatia and Bulgaria calling for a return to the Christian message of perfection, poverty and preaching. Their theology was basically dualist.[1] They became known as the Albigensians, because there were many adherents in the city of Albi and the surrounding area in the 12th and 13th centuries…

    Perceived irreligious.

When one reads the Bible, one will be struck by two facts.

1.Though the Bible talks about the Father, of whose son is Jesus,, there only limited references to HIs attributes, the rest being devoted to Christ.

2.The concept Satan, who is reported to be constantly engaged in fight with the forces of evil and at times threatens to dethrone God andit takes a supreme effort from God to wrest the initiative from Satan.

Satan is portrayed as Evil, has the power of ranting every one your wishes, provided you align your soul to him.

And those who follow Satan are doomed to Hell.

One of my acquaintances asked me that if what is being granted by Satan is demanded by Man and all one has to do is to give himself to Satan, then Christ also recommends the same, by offering the Kingdom of Heaven in return for one’s adherence to Christianity as propounded by Jesus.

    Then why not follow Satan?

Seems logical, strictly from the point of Logic and common sense.

This is the dichotomy one faces when one ascribes dual realities, one limiting and interfering with another.

The Cathars had a different approach though it had the same Christian element.

“The general view of the theology of the Cathars is that they were dualistic, believing in two equal and comparable transcendental principles; God, the force of good, and Satan, or the demiurge, that of evil. They held that the physical world was evil and created by this demiurge Rex Mundi (Latin, “King of the World”), who encompassed all that was corporeal, chaotic and powerful. Their understanding of God was entirely disincarnate: a being or principle of pure spirit and completely unsullied by the taint of matter. He was the god of love, order and peace. Jesus was an angel with only a phantom body, and the accounts of him in the New Testament were to be understood allegorically. As the physical world and the human body was the creation of the evil principle, sexual abstinence (even in marriage) was encouraged. Civil authority had no claim on a Cathar, since this was the rule of the physical world. The goal of a Cathar was to become perfect. Cathar missionaries would point out examples of clerical immorality and would contrast that behaviour with the uprightness of their own actions. They took special attention to point out the grievances the people of the south received from the French kings, and exalted a local sense of nationalism and independence. Thus, the religious movement moved into the political arena. Both church and state were deeply concerned at the spread of Cathar teachings and its developments.”

The first military leader appointed by Pope Innocent III to head his Holy Army was a Cistercias abbot called Arnaud Amaury. The first significant engagement of the war was at Béziers when it was besieged on 22 July 1209. Catholic inhabitants remained in the city and when the Abbot was asked how to tell Cathars from Catholics, he replied, “Kill them all, the Lord will recognise His own.” The doors of the churches and cathedral were broken down and the refugees dragged out and slaughtered. All over the town people were massacred in their thousands. Prisoners were blinded, dragged behind horses, and used for target practice. The city was burned. At that time the population of Béziers was around 5,000, but local refugees seeking shelter within the city walls increased the number to 20,000. All were killed regardless of rank, age, sex or religious belief.
