Getting ‘botox’ injections to fill up fine lines has become common practice for women and indeed men across the world. Now, there is a new ‘botox-like’ injection that women are being offered to use to increase their breast size. A mammary augmentation can thus be done under local anaesthetic and within an hour and a half. The product injected is called “macrolane” which is based on an acid similar to one produced naturally by the body.
This in injected behind the mammary gland, so the mammary gland remains the base of the woman’s shape. If the gel is injected too close to the surface it could lead to small cysts. While the process offers advantages given that it doesn’t require a full anaesthetic, doctors still caution that it could potentially obstruct the clarity of scans for breast cancer.
The other advantage of the injection is that it leaves only the tiniest of scars. There is an increased effort to reduce the signs of surgery and a new laser has just made its world debut in Paris. Designed by Russian engineers, it claims to be able to wipe away any signs of surgery and even regenerate the damaged skin, enabling new tissue to take its place.
The laser is said to be the first one ever capable of erasing keloid scars, puckered red clusters of scar tissue.
