  • Guruji’s Vision: Building a Temple for Sri Vidya Devotees

    # Construction preparatory activities

Sri Gurubhyo Namaha, Sri Matre Namaha, Sri Jogulamba Saraswatye Namaha. I wanted to share some updates on the temple initiative:

As many of you know, Guruji Sri Jogulamba Saraswati received a **divine vision** in August 2023, followed by further revelations from Devi, calling for the construction of a Shanmatha temple with Sri Lalithambika as the presiding Deity. This persistent vision provided specific instructions, guiding us toward creating a unique temple that will serve all devotees, especially Sri Vidya upasakas. Over time, this temple will also support broader community initiatives.

    – This is a vast undertaking, and we are committed to fulfilling Devi’s Will with our utmost effort. Phase 1 of the temple includes the construction of three Parivara Sannidhis and the main Devi Sannidhi. A trust, Sri Bhuvaneshwari Matha Trust under the guidance of Guru Sri Jogulamba Saraswati has been setup.
    – A distinguished Stapathi from a family with 10 generations of temple-building experience—including two Padma Bhushan awardees—has been appointed to lead the work.
    – We have acquired a 7.2-acre plot, located 2 km from the Jogulamba temple, a Maha Ashtadasha Shaktipeetha referenced by Bhagavadpadacharya Sri Adi Sankaracharya.https://youtu.be/rZYAFEYq_2A
    – Shed for workers, Borewell, and temporary structure to support the construction done

Sree Jogulamba temple, Hemalapuram ( Alampur)
    Stones Arrive .

Foundation and structural work will follow shortly, with stone procurement and a team of 20 workers set to commence work on the parivara sannidhis, from January 12, 2025.

    Write up by my student.

  • Christian Islam in Srividya Upasna Mantra Effort at Conversion

I started Ramanis blog in 2009 with the idea of sharing my views on subjects which I enjoy and about which have a fair idea.

As time went by , somehow, I started about writing about Sanatana Dharm and the presence of Hinduism throughout the world in ancient times. Then I started Researching and wrote articles about the validity of Hindu practices and Hindu presence throughout the world.

While this unplanned journey has been progressing, I wrote a series of articles on Devi, touching upon and detailed explanation of Sri Vidya, Shodasi, and other secret details that form a part of Sri Vidya Upasna.

I have received a lot of encouragement from readers who seem to have been benefitted.

Sri. Krishna Iyer, who contacted me over phone after seeing my articles on Sri Vidya and congratulated and Blessed me for my articles on Devi.

After a couple of general articles on Devi Upasna, I started writing on secret intricate details about Sri Vidya.

Sri Krishna Iyer called me and advised me to not to disclose secret Upasna details as it is prohibited. He is an elderly knowledgeable Sri Vidya upasaka who got initiated by a Guru into Sri Vidya.

    I vividly recall telling him,

‘Sir,I am not a learned man nor a Sri Vidya Upasaka. I write as it comes and I do not know from where I got the information though I provide sources in each article. That just happens. I don’t plan the topic nor do I get the source for my articles till I start writing. So, as far as as I am concerned, I am not responsible for the output. I believe that Abhirami is doing this, not me. If divulging the secrets of Sri Vidya is wrong and would attract punishment, Be it. And at the practical level , our keeping this as Secret might even result in these treasures being lost. So may be it is Her Will I write on Srividya.’

I recalled this conversation when I found a Facebook post which stated that Srividya Mantras are distributed by one Organization, Thiruchi Eengoimalai Ladies Mandali, to people who are desirous of learning Srividya.

I am providing the image of the Mantra below.

    Mischievous Misleading mantras

For the benefit of those who do not know Tamil, no 2 ,says Devi as ‘ Christava Darsana Vidya Devi and no 5 reads as ‘Islamya Darsana Vidya Devi’

In addition to this, Bauddham is also mentioned. To provide authentication, Saiva darsana is included.

This is totally a mischievous effort and this has nothing to do with Devi Upasna.

Christians have already a Christ Suprabhat,Astotra etc. They also have Churches designed as Hindu temples.

‘I see only two solutions.Gurus should encourage and guide more freely.

Those who want to learn Sri Vidya must have patience and your Guru will reach you. There is no short cut.

On my part I shall start writing again on Sri Vidya Upasna. Curious that I did not write on Devi for over two years!

  • Devi Upasana Authoritative Texts To Follow

The highest Mantra of Hinduism speaks of Devi as Gayatri.

    Lalitha Devi.
    Devi, Lalitha Image credit: http://shanmatha.blogspot.in/2009/09/connection-of-sastha-with-srividya.html

The fact that The Devi worship was given importance may be known by  the highest place offered to the Devi in the form of the Gayatri Mantra.

Devi is worshiped in the  Surya Mandala, and is compared to the Sun and the Sun worship is the primary duty of every Hindu.

In the Sandhyavandan, the Devi is worshiped as the embodiment of the Veda.

The Srividya is the  best path for realizing the Devi or Para Brahman.

In a manner of speaking Sandhyavanadan is also Srividya as it worships the Devi.

On the eve of the Mahabharata War, Lord Krishna advised Arjuna to perform the Devi worship and Arjuna did so.

The Devi worship is mentioned in the following Puranas.

    Brahmaanda ,Devi Bhagavatham,Markandeya Puaranam.

In addition Devi worship is described in detail in Agama Rahasyam,Samhita,Yaamalam,Aarnavam, Tantram.

The Soundaryalahari of Adi Shankaracharya is a Devi Tantra Shastra as well.

Fifty two Aksharas of the Devi are embedded among the Soundaryalahari 57 slokas composed by Shankaracharya.( the first 43 are reported to have been written by Lord Ganesh.

Apart from these there are innumerable texts on Devi Upasana.

Lord Shiva, after having divulged the secrets of the Shakti through many texts including Mantra and Tantra, has given the world the Sri Tantra.

This is also called the Sri Pura Upasana, Sri Vidya,

    (Chatusshashtya Tantrayaihi.. Soundayralahari)

Dattatreya, considered to be an Avatar of Lord Vishnu, in his Datta Samhita, Thripura Upasana( 18, 000 Slokas).

Parashurama, again another Avatar of Lord Vishnu, abridged this and wrote the Parasurama Kalpa Sutram, in 6000 Slokas.

Parasurama’s disciple Sumedhas wrote another sutra, showing the Sutra as a conversation between Lord Rama and Datatareya.

This is now called The Parashurama Kalpasutra.

This is the ultimate authority on the Devi Upasana.

Bhaskararaya’s Disciple Umananda Nathar had wriiten Kithyothsava,an explanation of Parasuramkalpasutra.( Rameswara Sastry, who came after UmanandhaNathar had written “Sowbhaagyasudhodhayam.”

This is what is practiced in South India.

Bhaskararaya had written on The Vamakesara Tantra in his work ‘Sethubandham’, which explains the Niyhyashodasikavarnam.

Bhaskararaya has also written the Varivasya Rahasya, which contains the inner meaning of Devi Upasana.

LalithasahsranaamBhashya , Sethubandham and VarvasyaRahasyam are the three supreme Works of the Devi Upasana and are called the Ratnatraya

    of Devi Upasana.(The Three Gems)

Adi Shankaracharya had also written on this subject, apart from the Soundaryalahari,in Prapanchasaara.

In Tamil Devi Upasana is explained in the Thirumaniram of Thirmoolar and in the Abirami Andhaadi of Abhirami Bhattar.

Very recently Ramana Maharishis’s disciple Kavyakanda Ganapathy sastri has written  Dasa Mahavidya.

These are the sources of the Devi Upasana and no other text has the authority on this Subject.

I am writing this, as, after posting a few articles on this subject,I have come to know that unscrupulous people posing as Gurus have misled people

,initiating them of SriVidya about which they know nothing,

quoting some text,s and have landed people into serious physical and mental problems.

I have warned of this in my post earlier.

This post is to reinforce that point and remember SriVidya must not be practiced with out a competent Guru.

As I said earlier, he does not advertise nor will he accept money.

    Beware of the others.

  • Sri Vidya Mantra Tantra Vidyas Sources Details

Sri Vidya Mantra Tantra Vidyas Sources Details

Sri Vidya is unique in Hinduism as it has the rare distinction of combining Mantra and Tantra Shastras.

    It also includes Yoga.

    Sri means Prosperity and Plenitude.

    Vidya is Knowledge.

Sri Vidya is that which grants Knowledge and Prosperity or Knowledge of Prosperity.

As Knowledge that liberates  the Soul, it has no equal.

The special feature is that Sri Vidya grants both prosperity and Liberation here and in the after Life, nay, also Liberates one from the cycle of births and deaths.

In two short phrases Lalitha Sahasranama describes Goddess Lalitha as .Bhaktha Sowbhagyadhaayini’

One who grants every thing for the welfare of Her Devotees.

    She is The Universal Mother.

The Lalitha Sahasranama begins addressing the Goddess as The Mother , Mother of Prosperity,

    “Sri Matha, Maharajne’

As Knowledge of Prosperity Sri Vidya it gives scope for prosperity in this world through Saguna Upasana and for Beyond  by Nirguna Uapasana.

Sri Vidya combines Gnana, Bhakti, Karma and Raja Yoga and synthesizes them in one format.

It also provides for Dualism,Dwaita and Advaita in worship.

As a Devotee if one worshps the Devi as different from the Self, it becomes Dwaita.

When Sri Vidya is practiced as the raising of Kundalini through the Chakra in the Human Body it becomes Yoga.

In Kunḍalini yoga, one realizes divine consciousness through the activation of the hidden energy of Kunḍalini.

There are six centers (cakras) in the spinal channel. Kunḍalini is said to be initially coiled up at mulādhara.

She is the Mother. She passes through these six from mulādhara at the bottom of spine to ajna at the forehead, then to the crown of the head (sahasrāra) where individual consciousness fully unites with cosmic consciousness.

When you concentrate on the Unity of Shiva and Shakti, it Unites Shaiva and Shakta.(Aikyaanusnathaanam)

When one meditates on the Devi as an expression of the Universal Self, Brahman, it is Advaita.

As the mantras are mystically locked, it is Mantra Shastra.

Sound is produced through contact, vibration and obstruction.

This is called āhata. However cosmic hiss if one can hear is eternal and existent.

This is called Anāhata. It is not produced by us but only heard.

    A yogi can hear this.

In sādhana one makes the sound oneself (by doing mantra japa), in a rhythm, resonant with the vibrations of his nādis and his breath.

Through this one will be able to discover the deeper vibration.

This way of merging individual with cosmic is called mantra yoga.

Mantra is said to be the sound-form of Devata (god-form).

One realizes Devata through the chanting of mantra in mantra yoga.

Mantra yoga concentrates on nada (sound) to strike rhythm between individual and cosmic vibration, to activate the right nādis, to expose one into the cidākāsa or daharākāsa (causal space).

Śabda (sound) is the tanmatra (subtle attribute) of mahābhuta (primal element) ākasa (space)

It practices Geometrical Worship, Sri Chakra, it becomes a Tantra Shastra.

    As Laya Yoga.

Meditation is the means in laya yoga. One controls mind through the control of breath, so that full concentration is possible in meditation.

Through meditation, one’s consciousness merges in the object of meditation and one realizes Atman.

The state, in which the difference between the one who meditates the act of meditation and the object of meditation dissolves, is called samādhi or sāyujya.

One also observes during meditation one’s own being, the different sheaths of consciousness.

There are five kosas or sheaths of consciousness of being – annaMāya (physical), prānaMāya (vital-life), manoMāya (mental), vijnānaMāya (intellect-knowledge) and ānandaMāya (causal – blissful).

The first is gross, next three constitute subtle and the fifth causal being.

The causal being is Īśvara who resides in all beings, along with Māya His consort. She veils the unmanifest form of the divine, Brahman.

The Mother is MahāMāya, who covers the world with veil of ignorance and lifts the veil out of grace, causing the entire play of creation.

This is the cosmic sport She does for the Lord, Her līla. Her play, action can be seen in karanākāsa the causal space.

She is the moon of that space, and is called Cidākāsa candrika.
