Sakthi Anklet Peeta Naina Tivu, Manipallavam Garuda Naga

Referred to as Manipallavam, and conquered by ancient Tamil Knins of Sangam Period, has a Sakthi Peeta., the Peeta where the Devi’s Anklet fell.

 

This is a small Island in Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

 Naina Tivu is a small but notable island off the coast of Jaffna Peninsula in the Sri Lankan Tamil dominated Northern Province, Sri Lanka.

 

The name of the island alludes to the folklore inhabitants, the Naga people.

 

It is home to the Hindu shrine ofShree Nagapooshani (Bhuvaneswari) Amman; one of the prominent 64 Shakti Peethas,

How To reach Nagapooshani Amman Temple,Nainativu,Sri Lanka.

 

From Jaffna, one can reach Nainativu by boat.

 

There are small boats are operating as passenger boats while a larger one is operating with large seating capacity with lower deck and upper deck facility.

 

The price for the seat is Rs 30 or Rs 50 according to the boat size.

 

Those who want to use the smaller boats are requested to wear life jackets that are provided by the boat operator.

 

One Government Bus is operating from Nainativu.

 

Local three wheelers are available.
