    Location: Tiruchirappalli
    (Chola Naadu -South of Kaveri)
    ShivaTaayumaanavar, Matrubhuteswarar
    AmbalMattuvaarkuzhali, Sugandha Kundalambika
    Theertham: Kaveri
    Patikam : Sambandar, Appar
    Travel Base: Tiruchirappalli.

Lord Shiva is reported to have attended the Labor of His Devotee and ensured safe delivery.

Shiva was worshipped by the demon ruler Tirisiran, hence Tiruchirappalli, Tirisirapuram etc. Also, since the three peaks here on this hill are occupied by Shiva, Parvati and Vinayaka, the name Tri-Shikharam or Tirisirapuram came into being. Legend has it that Shiva in the guise of a woman (mother) attended to the call of a devotee in labor, hence Matrubhuteswarar.

Tiruchirappalli  is hailed as Dakshina Kailasam, as the hill is said to be 1 of the 3 pieces that flew off the Himalayas. in a fierce tussle between Adi Seshan the mythical snake and the Wind God Vayu. The other two are Triconamalee & Sree Kalahasti.

The Temple: This is a fascinating rock cut temple with several inscriptions from the Pallava and Imperial Chola period. This shrine houses Kangaala Moorthy, one of the 64 manifestations of Shiva. The approach to the temple is through a flight of covered stairs. Towards the end of the climb, the Tayumanavar temple is towards the West, and theUchipillayar temple – East.

There is a rock cut Pallava temple – Lalitankura Pallaveswaram in this hill temple complex. with several inscriptions here attributed to Mahendravarma Pallavan. In addition the Cholas, the Vijayanagar rulers and the Nayaks of Madurai have made extensive contributions here. The  two storeyed Taayumaanavar temple, built on (in) a hill is a masterpiece of construction. The Chittira Mandapam houses a granite chain with nine loops.

Festivals: Six worship services are offered each day here. This well endowed temple celebrates the annual Bhrammotsavam in Chittirai. Aadi Pooram and the float festival in Panguni are also of significance here.

     Special Ganesha Mantras

Ganesha mantras are siddhi mantras .

Each mantra contains certain specific powers of Lord Ganesha.

When chanted with the proper pranayama (rhythmic breathing) and sincere devotion, they will yield good results.

In general, Ganesha mantras will ward off all evil and bless the devotee with abundance, prudence and success.

Evil spirits dare not enter the home or the mind of the devotee where Ganesha mantras are recited.

Those so mystically inclined and knowledgeable of the seven chakras below the muladhara use these powerful incantantions under the direction of the guru to close off these regions of the mind one by one and free consciousness from deep depression, confusion, jealousy, rage, lingering anger and fear. Some such mantras are given below for the spiritual benefit of the readers.

One more point to remember is that one should bathe or wash the limbs before sitting for repetition of the mantra.

Also, one should do three or more pranayama before beginning the mantra. The minimum repetition of the mantra should be one full mala, or 108 times.

When this is done at a fixed hour and place regularly for 48 days, it becomes an upasana, which means intense meditation, that will yield siddhis, or spiritual powers.

These powers should not be misused.

Misuse of power may bring the curse of the asuras.

    4.Aum gam ganapataye namah

This is a mantra from Ganapati Upanishad.

One may always use it before beginning a journey, a new course in school, new career or job, or before entering into any new contract or business so that impediments are removed and your endeavor may be crowned with success.

    5.Aum shri ganeshaya namah

This mantra is usually taught to children for their good education.

It increases their memory power, and they become successful in their examinations.

    6.Aum vakratundaya hum

This is a very powerful mantra, as discussed in the Ganesha Purana.

When something is not working properly, individually or universally, nationally or internationally, or when the minds of the people turn crooked, negative, depressed or discouraged, the attention of Ganesha may be drawn by this mantra to straighten their ways.

The HUM symbolizes “Delay no more, my Lord, in straightening the paths of the crooked-minded ones.”

This mantra is used many times in the Ganesha Purana to curb the atrocities of cruel demons.

In addition, this mantra could also be used for healing any spinal deficiency, such as curvature of the spine or curved limbs. Dedicate 1,008 repetitions of this holy word to straighten and heal such deficiencies.

    7.Aum kshipra prasadaya namah

    Kshipra means instantaneous.

If some danger or negative energy is coming your way and you don’t know how to get rid of that trouble, with true devotion, practice this mantra for quick blessing and purification of one’s aura.

8Aum shrim hrim klim glaum gam
    ganapataye vara varada sarva
    janamme vashamanaya svaha

This is used in Ganapati Homa.

There are several bija (seed) mantras in this mantra .

Among other things, it signals, “Shower Your blessings, O Lord. I offer my ego as an oblation.”

    9.Aum sumukhaya namah

By meditating on this mantra, very pleasing manners and a beauty comes on you.

Along with that comes peace, which constantly dances in your eyes; and the words you speak are all filled with that power of love.

As per the mantra you create, so will you create the colors.

Another meaning is “wish cow,” the “cow of plenty.”

It means that whatever you wish, that comes true. There is a wish-cow inside you. Whatever you wish, especially for healing others, comes true immediately.

    12.Aum gajakarnikaya namah

The ears of Ganesha, the elephant, are constant fanning, which means people may talk a lot, but you are not receiving inside anything other than that which is important.

It also means that you can sit anywhere and tune this cosmic television (the body) with seven channels (chakras) and all 72,000 nadis, to any loka and be able to hear ancestors, angels, the voice of God or the voice of prophets.

That kind of inner ear you will develop through this mantra.

  • Veda Mantras For Devatas For Prosperity

I am furnishing Veda Mantras for Prosperity, Resolving problems.

I have posted some articles on this subject which includes the Bheeeja Mantras.

A word of Caution and a Warning.

    Indian Philosophy Details
    Hindu Scriptures Image credit. http://www.thebritishtoastrack.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/vedas.jpg

These mantras are very potent and have to be practiced after getting initiated a Guru.

These are not to be trifled with for these are not mere words, they are Sounds grasped by the Rishis by Intuition..

Wrong pronunciation, practicing without initiation from a Guru, in extreme case may even be fatal.

Wrong pronunciation might cause unpleasant effects.

Get a competent Guru and be initiated.

If your desire is strong enough the Guru shall find you.

You may chant Guru Brahma sloka to get a competent Guru or pray Lord Subrahmanya, you shall get your Guru.

A True Guru does not advertise, not easy to identify, nor does he accept money.

He is bound to test you before initiation.

With so many constraints why do I post these?

    There are three reasons.

I am shocked to find that many great Religions, eg. African Religion, have been  wiped off, the people themselves not sure of their roots, by a systematic effort to erase these treasures.

Despite all this our Scriptures have survived, thanks to the Oral Traditions and the unstinting devotion of selfless Brahmins, who, despite their poor economic conditions, have preserved these Jewels.

My effort is to make these Public so that some people may be benefited, and more importantly these shall be saved and preserved for posterity.

I find the present generation to be curious and follow things if explained patiently in a language they understand, that is Science.

Through my post, with my limited Knowledge and resources, I am trying to communicate to the curious younger generation and hope they shall carry our traditions into the future.

Another important factor is that these treasures are not a figment of imagination of fertile minds but a revelation arrived at after assiduous practice

    and

they stand the test of Modern Science of to-day and transcends it.
