  • Lord Krishna Stayed At Madurai Yanaimalai?

I have written a few articles on the Tamils and people of Sanatana Dharma interacting quite frequently and Tamils were a Part of Sanatana Dharma, despite efforts being made to project Tamils as Inimical to Sanatana Dharma and that the North looked down at the South.

    YanaiMalai,Elephant Mountain.jpg YanaiMalai

    History proves otherwise.

Tamil Kings attended Nala Damayanthi Swayamvara, which had taken place before the Ramayana,Rama’s wedding with Sita, Draupadi’Swayamvara in the Mahabharata, Tamil Kings fought alongside the Pandavas in the Epic Battle of Mahabharata,Tamil King Cheralaathan fed both Kaurava and Pandava army during the Mahabharata war,He performed Tharpana for those who lost their Lives in the war, Arjuna, Sahadeva went on a Pilgrimage to South,Arjuna married a Pandyan Princess and Lord Krishna was a special Invitee for the Tamil Sangam, He married a Pandyan Princess, had a daughter through her named Pandiah, had her married to a Pandyan Prince and gave away 100 Yadava Families as  Gift f to her during her marriage.

    Lord krishna with Radha,Image.jpg
    Radha Krishna.

And Balarama visited the South and worshiped Lord Murugan, ( Subrahmanya) at Valliyur, Durga at Kanya Kumari, and also worshiped Parashurama.

And he visited Sriranagam before proceeding to meet Krishna at Yanaimalai, near Madurai!

Rishaba Parvata means mountain of Bull.

This may be due to some versions which state that the mountain looks like a Bull.

The other Rishba mountain near Bangalore, is Nandi Hills, which is quite far away from Madurai.

And there is yet another one near Tumkur(Near Bangalore), which is far from Madurai

Considering that Krishna married a Pandyan Princess, the place mentioned as Rishaba Mountain in the Mahabharata is to be taken as the Yanaimalai(Elephant hill, Ana/Yanai in Tamil means Elephant, near Madurai as the other Anaimalai is in the western Ghats and lies in Kerala/Coimbatore ,Tamil Nadu.

    And Yanaimalai ,

“Two Hindu temples are present in the foothills, one being the Ladan cave temple (Ladan koil), a Shaivite temple dedicated to Muruga, and the other being Yoga Narasimha temple, a Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Vishnu. Both are rock-cut temples constructed by the Pandyas, belonging to the 8th century. The place where the Yoga Narasimha temple is situated is known as Narasingam. Tamil-Brahmi and Vattelettu inscriptions in the temples shows their history. The Ladan temple has been declared a protected monument by theArchaeological Survey of India.

There is a Vishnu Temple called Azhagar Koil and Vishnu comes to Madurai for Madurai Meenakshi’s marraige with Lord Shiva as Somasundara.

Please read my Post on this,

Thirupaaran Kundram , near Madurai is one of the Major temples of Lord Murugan( The Six Temples of Subrahmanya-Aarupadai Veedu.

““Lord Balarama bathed in the Gomati, Gandaki and Vipasa rivers, and also immersed Himself in the Sona. He went to Gaya, where He worshiped His forefathers, and to the mouth of the Ganges, where He performed purifying ablutions. At Mount Mahendra He saw Lord Parasurama and offered Him prayers, and then He bathed in the seven branches of the Godavari River, and also in the rivers Vena, Pampa and Bhimarathi. Then Lord Balarama met Lord Skanda and visited Sri Saila, the abode of Lord Girisa. In the southern provinces known as Dravida-desa the Supreme Lord saw the sacred Venkata Hill, as well as the cities of Kamakosni and Kanci, the exalted Kaveri River and the most holy Sri-ranga, where Lord Krsna has manifested Himself. From there He went to Rsabha Mountain, where Lord Krsna also lives, and to the southern Mathura. Then He came to Setubandha, where the most grievous sins are destroyed.” (Sri Balarama’s pilgrimage (Mahabharata 9 – Shalya Parva))

Yanaimalai (Elephant Hill) is a protected monument and tourist attraction in Tamil Nadu, India. It has Jain sculptures, a Shaivitetemple, and a Vaishnavite temple.

Yanaimalai is in Tamil Nadu, India. The hill stretches over 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) and is 90 metres (300 ft) high.

    It is near Madurai.

  • Garbhodaki Vishnu Balarama Lakshmana In Quantum Wormhole

To understand Hindu History one should have an eye for facts, allegories, Facts and allegories combined together and allegorical stories to instill morality.

Vishnu in Anatha Sayana.jpg Garbhodaki Vishnu.

However one can easily identify the last mentioned by the statement in the body of the story or towards the end it to be a Moral story. But the Puranas, Vedas and the Ithihasas, Ramayana and Mahabharata belong to another genre .

Adi Sesha in Patala Loka.jpg. Adi Sesha Supporting the Earth.

Puranas and Ithihasas record facts as has been proved.

    Gharbodhaka Ocean.jpg
    Gharbodhaka Ocean.

Vedas belong to a category of Knowledge that is intuitively grasped and it is not through the senses we possess.

We can verify even this if we follow the laid down rules.

The Puranas contain facts as well as Higher Physical truths.

Some of these Truths enunciated in the Puranas are called as Lower Knowledge.

One such is the much overlooked Adi Sesha on whom Lord Vishnu reclines.

People are aware that Adi Sesha is the Bed on which Lord Vishnu reclines and he was born as Lakshmana in Ramayana and Balarama in Mahabharata times.

The importance of Sesha can be understood by the fact that  Lord Vishnu was born as a Younger brother to Balarama, an Avatar of Sesha, whom Lord Vishnu served diligently.

This is the expression of gratitude to Sesha by Lord Rama to Krishna hen he said to Lakshmana,

‘You have served me diligently sacrificing everything in your Life in order to serve me.

I shall repay it by serving as diligently to you in the next Avatar.

Lord Krishna executed His Machiavellian Schemes in the Mahabharata, be it the slaying of Drona,Fixing of the Muhurat for the Mahabharata war by switching the Full Moon Day(Bodhayana Amavasya), killing of Bhishma by placing Sikandi in front of Bhishma,The taking away of the fruits of Karna’s Good deeds by taking them away from Karna in the Battlefield, hiding the Sun to enable Arjuna to kill Jayathratha,of advising Bhima by slapping his thighs to indicate that Bhima as to hit Duryodhana below Duryodhana’s Thighs, the list is endless…

in the absence of His elder brother Balarama , an Avatar of Adi Sesha.

If Lord Krishna listened to in the Mahabharata at all it as only Balarama and no body else.

Such was his devotion to Balarama.

Apart from the incidents narrated thus about the respect shown to Balarama,is there any deeper meaning behind the importance given to Balarama by Lord Krishna?

    From the scientific angle?

To me , it seems so.

Krishna represents, among other things the embodiment of the Universe, as He displayed it to Arjuna in Kurukshetra in His Viswaroopa.

Krishna, an Avatar of Vishnu is beyond Time and Space and in fact He is Time and Space.

Vishnu has three aspects, the fact many of us are unaware.

Please read my post on Three Visnus.

    They are,

In Gaudīya Vaishnavism, a school of VaishnaVaishnavism, the Sātvata-tantra describes three different forms, or aspects, of Vishnu as Mahā Vishnu, Garbhodakaśāyī Vishnu andKsirodakaśāyī Vishnu (Paramātmā), with each form having a different role in the maintenance of the Universe and its inhabitants:

“For material creation, Lord Krishna’s plenary expansion assumes three Vishnus. The first one, Mahā Viṣṇu, creates the total material energy, known as the mahat-tattva. The second, Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, enters into all the universes to create diversities in each of them. The third, Kṣīrodakaśāyī Vishnu, is diffused as the all-pervading Supersoul in all the universes in heart of every living being and is known as Paramātmā. He is present even within the atoms. Real object of meditation in Yoga is a Paramātmā. Anyone who knows them can be liberated from material entanglement.”(Satvata Tantra)

    Now to Adisesha,

Shesha is said to hold all the planets of the universe on his hoods and to constantly sing the glories of the god Vishnu from all his mouths. He is sometimes referred to as Ananta Shesha, which translates as endless-Shesha or Adishesha “first Shesha”. It is said that when Adishesa uncoils, time moves forward and creation takes place and when he coils back, the universe ceases to exist.

Please refer my posts on this.

I have also written on the Singularity in Blackholes, describes the Brahman described in the Vedas.

    Time runs backwards,

    It recoils.

Ina Blackole, all events appear to be at a Standstill, though it is not.

There is a Singularity in a Black hole which one can not perceive.

In the centre of a black hole is a gravitational singularity, a one-dimensionalpoint which contains infinite mass in an infinitely small space, where gravitybecome infinite and space-time curves infinitely, and where the laws of physics as we know them cease to operate. As the eminent American physicist Kip Thorne describes it, it is “the point where all laws of physics break down”.

There is a reference in the Ramayana that Hanuman entered into a Black hole/wormhole in the Vindhya Mountains during His search of Sita.

And Lakshmana wentdown the Sarayau River to Patala Loka.

Balarama entered Patala Loka as a white serpent,( basic Light) .

‘In Ramayana, Lakshmana went to the Sarayu river, ended life by engaging in meditation and stopping his breathing. It is said his soul went to Patala Loka’

Adishesha lies on the Garbhodaka Ocean. This universe lies inside Hiranyagarbh which also has 14 planetary systems. Beneath the 14 planetary system is the cosmic ocean known as Garbhodaka ocean.

According to SB 5.23.9, the last planetary system is Patala. Further 30,000 yojanas(ancient distance measurement unit) below, Adishesha lies on Garbhodaka ocean but doesn’t hold any planetary systems.

    According to SB 2.7.1

Only under certain conditions do the planets float as weightless balls in the air, and as soon as these conditions are disturbed, the planets may fall down in the Garbhodaka Ocean, which covers half the universe. The other half is the spherical dome within which the innumerable planetary systems exist. The floating of the planets in the weightless air is due to the inner constitution of the globes, and the modernized drilling of the earth to exploit oil from within is a sort of disturbance by the modern demons and can result in a greatly harmful reaction to the floating condition of the earth.’

Hinduism describes 14 Lokas belonging to This Universe and there are many more and these are explained in the Devi Mahatmiyam and in the Puranas that speak of Devi.

The point that there are unobservable Universes is agreed upon by Quantum and they admit to 10 such places.

    Hinduism mentions 14.

I had written on these issues .

So, in the present context, The Time Principle is enumerated in the form of Lakshmana and Balaram where they had gone into the Garbhodaka Ocean which is the outer limit of our present Universe, though unobservable and all these rest on Garbhohaka Vishnu.

Please read my posts on Quantum in order to know more on this topic.

  • Atlantis White Island, Of White Skinned?

There are scholars who maintain that Atlantis was first mentioned by Plato.

But references to the area designated as Atlantis are found in many cultures.

Atlantis was given its name by the Greeks after Atlas.

But early Greek legends indicate Sanatana Dharma, Hinduism connection.

Balarama, Krishna legends have found and there is a view that the Pillars of Hercules was made in honor of Lord Krishna.

Please check my posts by Googling the term and ramanan50.

    Be that as it may.

Saka Dweepa is deemd to be Atlantis by taking reference to Sanskrit Texts.

Atala, one of the regions, out of 14,is a part of the nether world probably indicating that it lies, below, the equator( at least a portion of it).

    Atlantis, Location.jpg Atlantis, Location

The Vishnu Purana, one of the oldest of the Hindu Puranas, speaks of “Atala, the White Island,” one of the seven dwipas (islands) belonging to Patala (Book II, chaps. i, ii, and iii). This ancient text locates Atala geographically on the seventh (heat, or climate) zone, which according to Francis Wilford (the translator) is 24 to 28 degrees north latitude, putting it in the same latitude as the Canary Islands just off the North African coast. Col. Wilford rightly calls Atala, “Atlantis, the White Island”. (Wilford, 1808)

At least one “authority” has attempted to identify Atala with Italy, but Italy is not an island. Also, Italy is 38 to 45 degrees north latitude. Finally, I fail to see any possibility that the “Western Ocean,” mentioned in the texts as its location, could be the Mediterranean Sea when the Karna Parva of the Mahabharata clearly describes Africa as comprising that ocean’s eastern shoreline—placing that body of water clearly to the west of Africa!

Another non-Sanskrit scholar implies that Atala might be one of the well-known northern lands, such as Iceland or Greenland, and that the epithet “White Island” refers to its being covered with snow the majority of the time—even the mythological Hyperborea has been suggested. This does not appear to be the case.

Atala and Sveta Dwipa (“White Island”) are not the only names for Atlantis in Sankrit lore. Another name, Saka Dwipa, is used just as often in the Puranas; and according to the Sanskrit Dictionary (1974), Saka Dwipa means “island of fair skinned people.” It is therefore quite possible that “white” refers to the skin color of its inhabitants, rather than to the dominant color of the island—although it should not be assumed that all Atlanteans were white-skinned.

The terms “Atala” and “White Island” are used also by the Bhavishya Purana (4th cent. B.C.). Here it is stated that Samba, having built a temple dedicated to Surya (the Sun), made a journey to Saka Dwipa, located “beyond the salt water” looking for the Magas (magicians), worshippers of the Sun. He is directed in his journey by Suryahimself (i.e., journeys west following the Sun), riding upon Garuda (the flying vehicle of Krishna and Vishnu) he lands at last among the Magas.

The Mahabharata (circa. 600 B.C.) also refers to “Atala, the White Island”, which is described as an “island of great splendour.” It continues: “The men that inhabit that island have complexions as white as the rays of the Moon and they are devoted to Narayana . . . Indeed, the denizens of White Island believe and worship only one God.” (Santi Parva, Section CCCXXXVII)

Although there are numerous ancient Egyptian king-lists in existence, only a few include the famous “reign of the gods”. These include the Palermo Stone (2565-2420 B.C.), the Turin Papyrus (1300 B.C.), and Manetho’s Egyptian Chronicles (250 B.C.). Of these, the Turin Papyrus is by far the most complete source.

The Turin Papyrus (Gardiner, 1987; Smith, 1872) lists ten kings who ruled during the “reign of the gods,” complimenting the fragments of Manetho which have come down to us. Most importantly, it informs us as to the correct number of actual kings, thus helping us to equate Egyptian names with the corresponding Greek names. Below is a list of god-kings from the Turin Papyrus, with Manetho’s fragmented list alongside:

    The Turin Papyrus Manetho’s King-list
    Ptah Hephaestus
    Ra Helios
    Su Agathodaemon
    Seb Cronos
    Osiris Osiris
    Set Typhon
    Horus . . .
    Thoth . . .
    Ma . . .
    Horus Horus

So we have ten Aulitean (or, Aletean) kings reigning in a “foreign land” during the precise time Plato says ten Atlantean kings reigned in Atlantis. The Turin Papyrus also records the installation of the next series of kings in 9850 B.C.! This date is so close to the date given for the end of Atlantis that coincidence is virtually out of the question. In such a case, the equation “Aletean=Atlantean” doesn’t seem out of the question. ‘

The Santi Parva also describes Atala as being inhabited by white men who never have to sleep or eat. (Ibid.) Interestingly enough, the Greek historian Herodotus (450 B.C.) describes a tribe of Atlanteans who “never dream and eat no living thing”. (History, Book IV) Can this be coincidence? And just as the god Poseidon is very much involved in the Atlantis story, likewise in the Sanskrit accounts we find Varuna (the Hindu Poseidon) very much involved in Atala.

In other words, Atala, the White Island is remarkably similar to Plato’s Atlantis, even down to its circular capital city, Tripura! Tripura is made in three concentric parts, just as Plato’s Metropolis is divided into three parts by concentric canals. During the war of the gods and Asuras, the wicked cities of the Asuras began to fall, one by one, amidst loud cries of woe: “Burning those Asuras, he [the hero] threw them down into the Western ocean” (Karna Parva, Section XXXIV).

Concerning the “concentric arrangment” of Tripura, a recent archeological discovery of a fortified palace in Bactria, India, known as Dashly-3, turned out to be a concentric 3-ringed structure of the “tripura type”. [Their words, not mine.] The archaeologists, excavating under the auspices of the Archaeological Departments of Pakistan and India (Mahadevan, 15), also state that the Dasyas, the builders of Dashly-3, were “Asura-worshippers”.

In the Surya Siddhanta, an ancient Sanskrit text on astronomy, the translator (W. D. Whitney, 1860) mentions an “island” (dwipa) called Jambu Dwipa, surrounded by rings of alternating land and water. I am tempted to equate Jambu Dwipa with the Atlantean capital, which Plato describes as surrounded by circular canals, “making alternate zones of sea and land” (Critias)…

For instance, it has been alledged that Plato called Atlantis “a continent,” whereas Atala was only an island; therefore, it is reasoned, they could not be one and the same.

In actual fact, Plato never calls Atlantis a continent: only a “large island”. That Atala is also a very large island can be deduced from the Mahabharata, which describes Atala as having a capital city (Tripura), other major cities with houses, palaces, and streets, and as being populated by numerous tribes, some of whom chose to wage war against other nations. This is not a description of a small island.

That whether it was an Island or a Continent is a non issue.

Continent may be  a large mass surrounded by water.

    Like Australia.

‘The Santi Parva also describes Atala as being inhabited by white men who never have to sleep or eat. (Ibid.) Interestingly enough, the Greek historian Herodotus (450 B.C.) describes a tribe of Atlanteans who “never dream and eat no living thing”. (History, Book IV) Can this be coincidence? I am tempted to equate Jambu Dwipa with the Atlantean capital, which Plato describes as surrounded by circular canals, “making alternate zones of sea and land” (Critias)’

    Try this one!

    The term Asura means powerful.

While Ravana from the southern part of Bharatavarsha is called a Rakashsa, the people of Atala, Atlantis were called Asuras.

This term set me to search for a landmass which had a culture similar to Sanatana Dharma.

One finds references to this in the Ramayana where Sugriva directs hs army to search for Sita in Peru, identifying it with the Nazca Lines, which he called

as  Shiva’s Trishul Mark, the Nazca Lines resemble the Trishul Mark.

The description of Tripura confirmed suspicion that Atlantis is Tripura mentioned in the Purana and destroyed by Lord Shiva.

However, secondary tradition founded by people and limited in time, and the original tradition has superhuman origin and timeless nature. Because of this myth, and even the Bible texts “Egyptian Book of the Dead” is only secondary to the polar revelation contained in the text of “Avesta”, “Rig” and “Popol Vuh.”There is direct textual overlap between the myth of Tripura and dredaniem of Atlantis. First of all, ‘of course, we are talking about uniformity describe the appearance of Tripura and Atlantis. “Matsya Purana” and “Mahabharata” reported three round town, merged into one, and the first one was made of gold, the other – from the silver, and the third – of iron [29]. In turn, Plato in the dialogue “Critias” said a central island surrounded by the “alternate water and earth rings (earth was two, and water – three) all larger diameter, conducted as if the compass of the middle of the island, at equal distance from each other” [ 30]. Central island and two earthen ring – this is a description of a triple-like Tripura. The walls of each of these cities were covered with metal. The outer city wall was covered with copper, middle – tin, and the inner city – precious orichalcum. [31] The walls of the temple of Poseidon were lined with silver and gold. [32] Such detailed description of the matches in the Indian holy city of ancient myth and prove not only the relationship of the two stories, but the stories of historical authenticity. In other Indo-European sacred myths we find the same pattern. In “Avesta” description Vary, a town built on the orders of Yima Ahuramazda, fits the description of Atlantis and polar Tripura.

Of the 22 tribes that left the region in quick succession, the tem that preceded North met with disaster and perished.

Out of the remaining 12 a few families dropped off and settled down in regions currently known as Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Egypt Greece and Russia.
That great exodus took place 5,743 years ago. The Passover year which the Jews commemorate provides a tally of the period elapsed from the time they left India. … One of their monarchs was Solomon.

Pococke observes: ” That India was the point whence came the gold and the luxurious appliances of Solomon’s court is clear; both the length of the voyage, the nature of the commercial imports and the original land of the
Phoenician’s establish this fact. It ws a coasting voyage of three years.” India in Greece, by E. Pococke )

Pococke adds: ” When Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and built them high places, and images, and goves, on every high hill, and under every tree, the object was Bal; and the pillar was his symbol. It was on this altar that they burned incense, and sacrificed the calf on the 15th day of the month, the sacred amavas of the Hindus. The calf of Israel is the bull of Balesar or Ishwar.” The Bal alias Balesar is Balkrishna alias Baleshwar, i.e., the Divine Child Krishna.

The name Solomon is a Sanskrit term. The great poet Kalidas describes King Dushyant as ‘ Shalmanav,’ i.e., a tall, hefty person with an impressive personality. The term Solomon is that Sanskrit word with the vowel ” a
rounded in pronunciation as ” O “.The Golden Calf

The image of the golden calf which one often hears of in the history of the Jews was the calf which Lord Krishna leaned against when he used to play the flute while grazing cows. …

At that age, Lord Krishna was tall enough to lean only against a calf and not a cow.’..

    Star of David.

‘The so-called Jewish Star which is the emblem of the Jews is a Tantric, Vedic symbol. It consists of two, interlocked triangles with the apex of one facing North and the other South. This symbol is drawn in front of every
orthodox Hindu home in stone-powder design every morning after the house is washed. The desing/drawing is known as Rangawali alias Rongoli. Even its name David is the Sanskrit word Devi, i.e., ” bestowed by the Mother
Goddess.” The so-called Humayun tomb building in Delhi, which was a Goddess temple, is inlaid with those emblems on the exterior, upper portions of its walls.

The Five Races (Phylum) of Noah (Nu). Of the five races, Yadu, Turvasa, Druhyus, Anu, and Puru, the only one I’ll deal with are the Yadu and their companions, the Yadavas. Yadava is a contraction of Yadu plus Deva, meaning ‘The Yadu Demi–Gods or People of Yah.’ It was through them that Lord Krishna, God Shiva, and Buddha came to earth to save mankind from time to time, as follows:

    Nephilim/Navalin > Noah (Manu) >Jyapeti (Japhet or Yayati) > Yadu > Yadava > Jews/Yahuda.

Yayati/Jyapeti/Japhet was at one and the same time Dyauspitar (Jupiter), Dyus (Zeus), Vishnu or Lord Krishna, Shiva, and Buddha.

Notice that the Nephilim/Navalin did not detach themselves from their bodies and move into those of the Yadus and Yadavas. They could enter this world only via the bloodstreams of the Yadu and Yadava (Yahudas or Jews). For that, they had to breed with the daughters of men, leaving their seed in the wombs of these daughters. The closer people were tied genetically to the Yadu and Yadava, the easier it was to get a correct genetic match for producing a fetus capable of hosting a true Son of the Unbegotten. Any of the other races could produce saints but not saviors like Jesus and Krishna. For this reason, Lord Krishna and Jesus were related by blood ties. Krishna was a Yadu Kuru. Jesus was a Yehudi Koresh”

‘The Biblical name ‘Kinneret’, which is the more ancient name and precedes the name ‘Gannesaret’. It  comes from the Hebrew word ‘kinnor’ meaning ‘harp’ – which is regarded as the ‘instrument of music in heaven’. The lake is supposed to be shaped like a ‘harp’. In Sanskrit too ‘kinnar’ (किन्नर) means ‘heavenly music’. Also, the ‘kinnars’ are a ‘heavenly race’ of men mentioned throughout the Ramayana. The female counterpart of the ‘kinnars’ were the ‘apsaras’. In the Ramayana the ‘kinnars’ are always mentioned along with the ‘apsaras’. So if there was a ‘Kinneret’, was there a lake dedicated to the ‘apsaras’ too? The Bible does mention a lake by the name ‘Asphar’ in Israel, also the Dead Sea was known as ‘Ashphalites’, though now the name is connected to ‘asphalt’ – though there is no known etymological source of ‘asphalt’ and is credited to non-Greek, non-Latin unknown source.

Then there is the Susita River, also now called the Hippos. ‘Susit’ (सुसिता) means ‘white’ in Sanskrit. There is also a town by the name ‘Susit’ in Israel. The list is endless.’

Just to give you an idea of how low mankind had fallen after the Great Flood in Altai, Siberia, read the Hindu account of Noah, taken from the Matsya Purana:

‘To Satyavarman, that sovereign of the whole earth, were born three sons: the eldest Shem; then Sham; and thirdly, Jyapeti by name.‘They were all men of good morals, excellent in virtue and virtuous deeds, skilled in the use of weapons to strike with, or to be thrown; brave men, eager for victory in battle.

‘But Satyavarman, being continually delighted with devout meditation, and seeing his sons fit for dominion, laid upon them the burdens of government.

‘Whilst he remained honouring and satisfying the gods, and priests, and kine, one day, by the act of destiny, having drunk mead,

‘Became senseless and lay asleep naked. Then, he was seen by Sham, and by him were his two brothers called:

‘To whom he said, ‘What now has befallen? In what state is this our sire?’ By these two he was hidden with clothes, and called to his senses again and again.

‘Having recovered his intellect, and perfectly knowing what had passed, he cursed Sham, saying, ‘Thou shalt be the servant of servants.’

‘And since thou wast a laugher in their presence, from laughter thou shalt acquire a name. Then he gave Sham the wide domain on the south of the snowy mountains.

‘And to Jyapeti he gave all the north of the snowy mountains; but he, by the power of religious contemplation, attained supreme bliss.’

Jehovah is an anglicized representation of Hebrew the name that, according to the Bible, God revealed to his people, also dubbed “the proper name of God”. The earliest available Latin text to use a vocalization similar to Jehovah dates from the 13th century. It was certainly not the historical vocalization of the Tetragrammaton at the time of the redaction of the Pentateuch (6th century BCE), at which time the most likely vocalization was YAHWEH. The historical vocalization was lost because in Second temple Judaism, during the 3rd to 2nd centuries BCE, the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton came to be avoided, being substituted with Adonai “my Lords”. Others say that it is the pronunciation Yahweh that is testified in both Christian and pagan texts of the early Christian era. Some argue that Jehovah is preferable to Yahweh, based on their conclusion that the Tetragrammaton was likely tri-syllabic originally, and that modern forms should therefore also have three syllables.’

  • Balarama Is Hercules, Megasthenes

All of us are aware of Megasthenes of Chandragupta period.

The Greek geographer and explorer Megasthenes arrived at the court of the Indian emperor Chandragupta Maurya at Pataliputra (modern Patna). He was sent as an ambassador by Seleucus Nicator of the Seleucid dynasty, with whom Chandragupta Maurya had entered into a treaty and matrimonial alliance. During his stay in India, Megasthenes compiled the book Indica – a commentary on the geography, social traditions, and religious customs of India.

Indica, the book by Megasthanes is not available now.

Later Greek Historians ,Arrian and Diodorus Siculus refer to his works.

Arrian (c.86 AD – 160 AD) writes on Hercules and Balarama.( Arrian’s Book is also named as Indica)

“The Hercules who penetrated so far, the Indians tell us, was a native of their country. He is particularly worshipped by the Suraseni (Shurasena), who have two great cities, Methora (Mathura) and Cleisoborus (Surapura), and the navigable river Jobares (Yamuna), passes through their territories. This Hercules, as Megasthenes asserts, and the Indians themselves assure us, uses the same habit with the Theban Hercules. Many male children, but only one daughter was born to him in India, for he married many women. The daughter’s name was Pandaea, and the land where she was born, and over which Heracles placed her as ruler, was named Pandaea after her.”

One may note that Balarama was of white complexion unlike Krishna who was black.

Diodorus Siculus (c.50 BC) on Balarama and Hercules in his Book ‘Bibliotheca Historica.’

“Hercules was born amongst the Indians, and like the Greeks, they furnish him with a club and lion’s hide. In strength he excelled all men, and cleared the sea and land of monsters and wild beasts. He had many sons, but only one daughter. He built Palibothra (Pataliputra i.e. Patna) and divided his kingdom amongst his sons. ”

There is some light needed here as regards Pandea, the daughter of Balarama whom he placed as a ruler in Madurai.

I posted an article, based on the evidence in Tamil Epic Silappadikaram and Puranas that Krishna married a Pandyan Princess, had a daughter Pandea and she was a Princess of Pandya Kingdom in Madurai.

Lord Krishna is recorded to have gifted 100 Yadava Families as Dowry for His daughter’s marriage and they were charged with the task of supplying Milk and Curds to Krishna’s Daughter nad hr heirs at Madurai.

Now this reference by Megasthanes followers refers Pandea as he daughter of Balarama.

I shall  do a little more research and update on this.

    * There are some scholas who subscribe to the view that Krishna wa Hercules.

    Other references.

Roman philosopher Cicero (106 BC-43BC) had mentioned that, “the Indian Hercules is denominated Belus”, and he used the term Hercules Belus to refer to him. Captain Francis Wilford wrote in the Asiatic Researches (1799) that this Belus was none other than Balarama, the brother of Krishna:

“The Indian Hercules, according to Cicero, was called Belus. He is the same with Bala, the brother of Crishna, and both are conjointly worshipped at Mutra; Indeed, they are considered as one Avatara or incarnation of Vishnu. Bala is represented as a stout man, with a club in his hand. He is also called Bala-Roma… As Bala sprung from Vishnu, or Heri, he is certainly Heri-cula, Heri-culus, and Hercules. Diodorus Siculus says that the posterity of Hercules reigned for many centuries in Palibothra (Patna), but that they did nothing worthy of being recorded”- Captain Francis Wilford wrote in the Asiatic Researches,1799.

““How invaluable such remnants of ancient race of Harikula! How refreshing to the mind yet to discover, amidst the ruins on the Yamuna, Hercules (Baldeva, god of strength) retaining his club and lion’s hide, standing on his pedestal at Baldeo, and yet worshipped by Suraseni! This was the name (Baldeo) given to a large tract of country round Mathura, or rather round Surpura, the ancient capital founded by Surasena, the grandfather of the Indian brother-deities, Krishna and Baldeva, Apollo and Hercules. The title would apply to either; though Baldeva has the attributes of ‘god of strength’. Both are lords (es) of the race (kula) of Hari (Hari-kula-es), of which the Greeks might have made the compound Hercules. Might not a colony after the Great War have migrated westward?” -James Tod in his Book  ‘Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan (1829)’

    Balarama’s Plough and Hercules.

    Balarama is associated with Plough.

A popular name of Hercules in Romanian legends is “Iorgovan”, a name which corresponds to the Greek form Georgos, meaning “the one who ploughs”.On an Imperial medallion issued by the Roman emperor Commodus, the emperor is shown dressed as Hercules, ploughing out the “original furrow” of Rome (in order to establish a sacred area for the foundation of the city) with two oxen. In one hand he holds the mace, and in the other he is guiding the plough.
