Sanatana Dharma is a Sanskrit term that translates to “eternal dharma” or “eternal order”. It is an alternative name for Hinduism. The term can also be translated as “eternal religion”, “eternal law”, “unshakeable, venerable order”, or “ancient and continuing guideline
The term “secular” was first used in a modern sense in 1851 by the British writer George Holyoake. Holyoake used the term to describe his worldly approach to morals, philosophy, and society and politics. The term “secular” comes from the Latin word saeculum which means “of a generation” or “belonging to an age”.
The concept of “One Nation, One Election” is not new. In fact, as experts point out, it is as old as our Constitution.The concept of simultaneous elections for both the Parliament and the states in India dates back to the adoption of the Constitution in 1950. From 1951 to 1967, elections to the Lok Sabha (Parliament) and all state assemblies were held simultaneously every five years. This practice was followed during the elections in 1952, 1957, 1962, and 1967.
