  • அந்தரங்கம் ,ஒரேகோத்திர திருமணம்

    When we look at the lineage, all of us are descendants of  one pair.

    Adam and Eve, Dakshapparajapathi/Kasyapa and Thithi.

    Hence all of us happen to be brothers and sisters.

    So none can marry!

    At the same time ,one can not ignore the genetics behind Gotra( a system of lineage in Hinduism).

    Details are provided in the Link.

    The children born of same Gothra parents have a greater possibility of being born with Genetic defects.

    So, to prevent regrets later, it is better not to marry in the  same Gothra.

    ஒரே கோத்திரத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ளுவதில் வேறுபட்ட கருத்துக்கள் நிலவுகின்றன.

    எந்த மதத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டாலும் தலைமுறைகள் ஒரு கணவன் மனைவியிலிருந்து உருவாகிஉள்ளன .
    ஆதாம், ஏவாள் ,தக்ஷப்ப்ரஜாபதி,காச்யபர், திதி உதாரணங்கள் .
    அப்படிப்பார்க்கையில் அனைவரும் சஹோதர சஹோதரிகளாகிறோம்..
    அதே சமயம் மரபணு சார்ந்த உண்மைகளை ஒதுக்கவும் முடியாது.
    விளக்கத்திற்கு
    “Now we know even in modern Genetics that marriages between cousins will increase the risk of causing genetic disorders. That is because, say suppose there is a recessive dangerous gene in one person. What this means is that say a person is carrying a dangerous abnormality causing gene in one of his chromosome, but whose effect has been hidden in that person (or is not being expressed) because the corresponding gene in the pairing Chromosome is stronger and hence is preventing this abnormality causing gene from activating.

    Now there are fair chances that his offsprings will be carriers of these genes throughout successive generations. As long as they keep marrying outside his genetic imprint, there is a fair chance that the defective gene will remain inactive since others outside this person’s lineage most probably do not have that defective gene. Now if after 5-10 generations down the line say one of his descendants marries some other descendant who may be really far away cousins. But then there is a possibility that both of them are still carrying the defective gene, and in that case their children will definitely have the defective gene express itself and cause the genetic abnormality in them as both the Chromosomes in the pair have the defective genes. Hence, the marriages between cousins always have a chance of causing an otherwise recessive, defective genes to express themselves resulting in children with genetic abnormalities.

    So if the Vedic Rishis had allowed marriages within the same Gotras, then there were chances that the resulting male can be a victim of such defective gene expression, and any such gene expressions which took place in the 5% exposed area of the Y Chromosome would be fatal for the continuity of that Y Chromosome. Even after hundreds of generations there would still be chances of any defective genes being propagated within these successive generations, and marriage within the same Gotra would provide a golden opportunity for these genes to express themselves, there by causing the genetic abnormality in the offspring.

    And hence the ancient Vedic Rishis created the Gotra system where they barred marriage between a boy and a girl belonging to the same Gotra no matter how deep the lineage tree was, in a bid to prevent inbreeding and completely eliminate all recessive defective genes from the human DNA.

  • ‘துறவாடைக்குள் மறைந்த காதல் மனம்’ Perverted Look at Tamil Literature.

    Tamil Writer Prapanchan has published a Book ‘துறவாடைக்குள் மறைந்த காதல் மனம்’.

    A review has appeared in the Junior Vikatan of 29/2/2012.

    Some excerpts were reproduced in the Magazine.

    The writer is supposed to have looked into Ancient Tamil Literature and seems to provide(the review says) a new insight into Tamil Literature, which none has  seen fit to think over a thousand years.

    Just what are these ‘insights?’

    The Tamil Literature of ‘எட்டுத்தொகை ,பத்துப்பாட்டு மற்றும் பிற பதினெட்டு நூல்களும் , மற்றும் மணிமேகலை  etc ‘ ‘are written in  Tamil but are not Tamil Literature’

    Reason?

    The Author states”

    All the Poets of these Ages were the Sycophants and were dependent on Kings and hence they represented the ‘Ruling Class’s View’ of Life”

    He is supposed to have quoted from Tamil Literature.

    I do not have the relevant quotes as it is not available with me now.

    Those who have a passing knowledge of Tamil will know of the Poem

    ‘மன்னவனும் நீயோ ,வளநாடும் உனதோ .’ where the Poet slams the King.

    Nor are people unaware of the Poem ‘கொங்குதேர் வாழ்க்கை அன் சேய்த்தும்பி ‘ where the Poet has challenged Lord Siva;

    or of Avvaiyaar who helped defuse the tension between two Kings.

    Do not forget there were lot of Tamil Kings who were Poets of repute, including Ilango Adigal,Adhiveerarama Padiyan,Raja Rajan .

    I can quote more.

    Poets of the earlier ages were more forth right in condemning Kings where they at fault unlike Vaali and Vairamuthu of this day.

    Could have been few exceptions then.

    A sweeping statement that all Poets of the earlier ages were the puppets of the rulers is idiotic.

    Another profound statement is that Manimegali was forced into Sainthood by her Mother and was not allowed to think on her own!

    People who were her contemporaries did not know her, the writer who comes later by Centuries than her knows her mind!

    Anything that does not talk about Love and Illicit affairs’களவொழுக்கம் ‘, in the opinion of the Author of the Book, is not Tamil Literature!

    Even if it were true then why should Tamil Literature have poems devoted for

    ‘களவொழுக்கம்’ separately?

    They could have included it in the general classification.

    Reason is that the poets were,unlike the present ilk, reflecting society as it was.

    The problem is you should be either a fiction writer or a Literateur or should know the difference between the two and be proficient in at least  one discipline.

    One is revealed by what one writes.

    Time people started thinking above the navel.

    Now I think I know why Tamil has not produced any worth while Literature in the past 100 years and keeps on harping on old glory.

  • “உயிரினும் மேலான உடன் பிறப்பே “-கலைஞர் மடல்.

    பத்திரிகைகளிலும்  இணைய தளங்களிலும் இன்ன பிற ஊடகங்களிலும் நம் கழக குடும்பத்தைப் பற்றி பரப்பப்படும் செய்திகளைக் கேட்டு உன் மனம்  பதைப்பதை நான் அறிவேன் .

    தம்பி ,ஆரியர்  கூட்டமும் அதற்குத்  துணை போகும் சில எட்டப்பர்களையும்  நீயும் அறிவாய் ,நானும் அறிவேன்.

    ‘நான் சொத்து சேர்த்து விட்டேனாம் ,ஊழல் புரிந்திட்டேனாம் ‘-எண்ணவே – மனம் பதைக்கிறது .

    நீ அறிவாய் ,நான் சென்னைக்கு திருவாருரில்ருந்து வருகையில் ஒரு கருப்பு நிற டிரங்குப் பெட்டியைத் தவிர ஏதும் கொணரவில்லை என்பதை, நீ மட்டுமல்ல,  இந்த  நாடே அறியும்..

    இன்று ஏதோ சிறு தொகையை கலைஞர் அறக் கட்டளைக்காக சிறிதாக ,குருவி மணி சேர்ப்பது போல் சேமித்து வைத்ததை  ஏகடியம் பேசுகின்றனர் .

    புறம் கூறற்க என்னும் தமிழ் மூதுரையையும் மறந்து ,’வாய்மை எனப்படுவது  யாவர்க்கும் தீமை இலாத சொலல் ‘ என்னும் வள்ளுவம் உரைக்கும் அற நெறியையும் புறந்தள்ளி , புழுதி   வாரித் தூற்றுவோரை , ‘மறப்போம்,,மன்னிப்போம் ‘என பேரறிஞர் கூற்றை மனதில்  இருத்தி   நான் மன்னித்தாலும் நீ மற்றக மாட்டாய் ,அடலேறு என தீப்பந்தம் ஏந்தி அன்றொரு நாள் எனது இல்லத்திற்கு,விதிகளை மீறி கட்டிடம் கட்டினேன்  என்பதற்காக மின் இணைப்புத் தராத காலையில் சென்னை வந்தவன்ரோ ,என் கண் மணி?

    கனிமொழி லஞ்சம் வாங்கினாள் என்கின்றனர் -சாட்சி உண்டா ?
    கழகக் கொள்கை பரப்ப ஊடகம் நடத்தியத் தவிர என்ன குற்றம் புரிந்தாள்?
    ஆரிய ஊடகங்களையும்  ,இங்கு உள்ள பார்ப்பனச் சதியையும் புரிந்து கொள்ள இயலாதவனா  தமிழன் ?
    பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட மற்றும் ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட இனத திற்காகவும் பாடு படும் இந்தக் கருணாநிதியை வீழ்த்தும் சதியை இனங்கொண்டு  முறியடிப்போம் ..

  • பிள்ளையார்-உலகின் மூத்த பிள்ளை.

    அனைவருக்கும் பரிச்சயமான சுக்லாம்பரதரம் எனத் தொடங்கும் விநாயக ஸ்தோத்திரத்தில் அது விநாயகரைப் பற்றியது என்பதற்கான குறிப்பு எதுவும் இல்லை .
    வெண்ணிற ஆடை அணிந்தவரும் (சுக்லாம்பரதரம் ),உலகத்தைக் காப்பவரும் (விஷ்ணும்), வெண்மை நிறத்தவரும் (சசி வர்ணம்),நான்கு கரங்களை உடையவரும் (சதுர்புஜம்) ,மலர்ந்த (பிரசன்ன வதனம் ) முகத்தை உடையவரும் , அனைத்து தடைகளையும் (சர்வ விக்ன )நீக்குபவரும் , ஆனவரை அமைதிப்படுத்தி உள்ளத்தில் இருத்துகிறேன் .
    இதில் எந்த இடத்திலும் அவர் பெயர் குறிப்படவில்லை .
    குணங்களையும் கடந்து, அனைத்து தெய்வங்களுக்கும் முதலாய் இருப்பதால் பெயர் குறிப்பிடப்படவில்லை .
    அனைத்து பூஜைகளுக்கும் தொடக்கத்தில் அவர் வழிபடப்படுகிறார் .
    மேலும் எளியருக்கு உகந்த தெய்வம் .
    ஆலயங்கள் கேட்பதில்லை .குளத்தடி,அரச மரத்தடி போதும்.
    எளிய துதிகள் போதும்.
    மஞ்சள் மற்றும் மண்ணால் அவரைப்பிடித்து வழிபடலாம்.பார்வதி அவரை கடல் நுரையாலும் ,சிவன் மஞ்சளினாலும் வழிபட்டுள்ளனர் .
    உபநிஷத்தில் உயர்ந்தது Ganopanisad.தமிழில் உயர்ந்த ஞான நூல் அவ்வை அருளிய விநாயகர் அகவல் ,அனைத்து தத்துவங்களும் யோகமும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது .
    வெள் எருக்கினால் செய்த விநாயகரை பூசித்தல் மிகவும் சிறந்தது.
    மேலும் இந்துமதம் மற்றும் இந்து தத்துவங்களைப் பற்றி அறியவேண்டுமெனில் இந்ததளத்தில் வினாக்கள் தொடுக்கலாம் .இயன்றவரை ஆதார பூர்வமான விடை அளிக்க முயல்கிறேன்

  • Foretelling Death.Symptoms.

    Agasthiyar is  an ancient seer who is believed to have formed the Tamil language.

    He is a Siddha , one who transcends time and he ,like all seers are supposed to be deathless.

    He has written a number of philosophical and medical treatises.

    I reproduce a loose translation of Sage Agasthya ( Tamil) on the Symptoms preceding death.

    Death Follows these indications in Seven Days.

    Tongue will become angry red;

    High temperature ;

    Unquenchable thirst;

    High level of perspiration;

    Severe pain all over the body;

    Astringent taste of extreme nature shall be felt.

    Death Follows in 15 Days.

    Tongue will become red and slightly swollen;

    Temperature and perspiration;

    Throat will be congested;

    Voice will change.

    Death in 2 hours.

    Hands, Chest,Nose and Ears will become cold;

    Unbearable pain in the center of the head.

    Some more signs are also given.I have omitted them for they deal with Indian system of medicine.

    But general signs are as above.

    I am reproducing the Tamil Verse.

    “நாக்குச் சிவந்து முன்பிறந்த
    நன்னீரி னிறம்போல் சிவந்திருக்கும்
    தேக்கிக் காயும் தாகமுண்டு
    தெளிந்தே வேர்வு சிகமென்னே
    ஊக்கி உடலும் நொந்திருக்கும்
    உலகோர் அறிய உரைத்தோம்
    நாம் பாக்குத் தின்னும் துவர்
    வாய் பரிந்தே நாளும் ஏலேன்னே”

    – அகத்தியர் நயன விதி –

    நாக்கு சிவத்து மூளைக் கட்டுக்கள் முள்போலத் தோன்றி இரத்தம் போலச் சிவந்திருக்கும், காய்ச்சல் குறையாமல் தகிக்கும், அளவுக்கதிகமான தாகம் இருக்கும், உடல் வியர்க்கும் , உடல் முழுதும் வலிப்பது போல் இருக்கும் , பாக்கு தின்பது போல நாக்கில் துவர்ப்புச்சுவை தெரியும், இந்த அறிகுறிகள் தெரிந்தால் ஏழு நாளில் உயிர் துறப்பார்கள் என்று உலகத்தவர்கள் தெரிந்துகொள்ள சொல்கிறேன்.

    “சிவேத சிவக்கச் சுரமுண்டாம்
    சிதற வேர்வை மறுமையுண்டு
    நீத நாக்கு பசுத்து முள்ளு
    நிறைந்தே வெடித்து ரோகமுண்டாம்
    ஓதத்தத் தொண்டை நேரிகுரலாம்
    ஒளிசெர்நாளும் பதினைந்தாம்
    நாதப் பண்சொல் மொழிமடவாய்
    நாடிக் கொள்வாய் நாள்குறியே”
    – அகத்தியர் நயன விதி –

    உடல் சிவந்து காணப்படும் சுரம் உண்டாகி , வியர்வை பெருகும், நாக்கு நிறம் மாறி முள் போல் முளைகள் நிறைந்து வெடித்து காணப்பட்டு அதிக வேதனை தரும், தொண்டை இறுகி குரல் மாறிவிடும், நாத மொழி பேசும் பெண்ணே இந்த அறிகுறிகள் கண்டால் பதினைந்து நாளில் மரணம் என்று அறிந்து கொள்.

    “எண்ணியஅவத்தை சொல்வேன்
    இனியகை மார்பும் மூக்கும்
    நண்ணிய செவியினோடு
    நலம்பெற குளிர்ந்து காட்டி
    திண்ணமா உச்சி யங்கி
    யாயிடிச் சிலேத்தும மோடி
    மண்ணினிக் கடிகை ஐந்தில்
    மரணமேன்றறிந்து சொல்லே”

    – அகத்தியர் நயன விதி –

    கை, மார்பு, மூக்கு, காது, முதலான உறுப்புக்கள் குளிர்ந்து காணப்படும், உச்சந்தலையில் இடி இடிப்பது போல வலி ஏற்படும், சிலேத்தும நாடி மிகுந்து ஓடும் இவ்வகை அறிகுறிகள் காணப்பட்டால் இந்தப் புவியில் ஐந்து நாழிகையில் மரணம் என்று அறிந்துகொள்.

    “அறிந்தபின் மமர்ந்து வாத
    சிலேத்தும மதிக மாகில்
    நிறைந்தோர் வார்த்தை தானும்
    நேர்பட வெடிப்பாய் பேசும்
    சிறந்திடு முகம்வெளுத்து
    மார்ப்பது குடில்போல் சென்றால்
    மறந்தனார்க்கடி கைதொண்ணுறா
    மளவிலே மரண மெய்யே”

    பித்த நாடி அடங்கி வாத சிலேத்தும நாடிகள் அதிகரிக்குமானால், நல்ல மொழிகளைப் பேசும் நிலையில் இருப்பவர் வார்த்தைகள் சீற்றத்தோடு அதாவது கோபமானவையாக இருக்கும், முகம் வெளுக்கும், மார்பானது குழல் போல் குறுகும், இத்தகு அறிகுறிகள் தோன்றினால் தொண்ணூறு நாழிகையில் மரணம் என்று அறிந்துகொள்.
