There is an uproar in the Media, especially the Electronic that the BJP President Gadkari had insulted Swami Vivekananda by comparing him with the Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim.
Surprising is the fact that the Media , which should be impartial have been screaming, to the extent that TimesNow News Channel devoted a Debate in Prime time.
Do these people not listen to the audio?
Gadkari.
Where exactly does Gadkari compare Swami Vivekananda and Dawood Ibrahim per se?
He states that though the IQ levels of Swami Vivekananda and Dawood may be the same ( which is of course is open to question), while Vivekananda used it in Nation Building activities, Dawood in Criminal activities.
The possession of IQ is not important but the use of it.
I do not see any thing objectionable in this statement.
When you want to high light a point it is normal to compare the Best and the Worst, in this case the use of Buddhi.(intellect).
Knowing the scams he is involved in Gadkari could have kept his mouth shut.
I am reminded of the instance when the ace Film Director K.Balachander made films like Arangetram where a Brahmin girl becomes a prostitute, there was an uproar that he was insulting the Brahmin community.
K.Balachander is a Brahmin.
Balachanders reply was ‘ I wanted to high light the travails and the degradation of values.
What better way than to show the Brahmin community which is regarded as the epitome of Cultural values?
Rahul Gandhi,Manmohan Singh,Sonia Gandhi at Congress Rally ,Delhi.
The congress party is holding a rally at the Ram Lila Grounds, New Delhi, ostensibly in support of FDI in Retail in India.
One wonders why a ruling party that can wither all scams which, in any other part of the world, would have sent the Government packing off, has to bring a purely a legislative issue onto to the streets!
Will some one remind the Congress -‘Issues of parliament are not decided in the streets’
_P.Chidambaram,on Anna Hazare,Kejriwal fast of Lokpal?
Is Congress holding the rally to demonstrate that people are behind them despite their,
I am reminded of the closing days of the Wiemar Republic,Social Democrats,Communists Struggle, the depression and the rise of Hitler, when Hitler , to seize the Republic, ostensibly democratically, made the famous(notorious) March, with his future SS march to the seat of German Power, Reich stag.!
3:35pm: Opposition rubbishes ‘show of strength’
While no one was as imaginative in their rebuttal of the Congress rally as Baba Ramdev who said that the Congress is doing a ‘Ravanlila’ at the Ramlila Maidan, BJP leader Arun Jaitley called the rally ‘anti-people’. “They rationalised hike in diesel prices, they justified hike in LPG prices. This rally was intended to rationalise anti-people policies,” he said.
The CPI(M), every TV channels go-to party, for anti-government, anti-Oppostion quotes alike said that instead of justifying its policies by themselves, the Congress should table its reforms in the Parliament and pass them as Bills after voting by the members. “That is a proper way of bringing in reforms. Let the Parliament debate the reforms as pass them if necessary,” said Prakash Karat of the CPI(M).
1.05pm: Three cheers to Jai Hind!
Don’t quite get why Shashi Tharoor is excited about this bit of the speech, but Sonia put her best foot forward in Opposition-mincing, followed closely by son Rahul. Together they made up for Manmohan Singh‘s seeming lack of oratory skills. However, Tharoor seemed more taken up by the conclusion of the speech.
that he has ample evidence against Ranjan Bhattacharya, Atal Behari Vajpayee‘s foster son-n-law and Pathibha Advani, daughter of lal Krishan Advani of BJP.
‘The information will be damaging to both Advani and Vajpayee’.
It is surprising that the Left that ruled West Bengal for a long stint was not aware that students are the first target for any Political party, especially The Communists. After all. it is their turf and they have travelled this road.

Calcutta, Sept. 13: Arrested Maoist leader Avishek Mukherjee had been assigned the task of motivating Calcutta University students to join the rebel outfit, the Special Task Force (STF) has learnt after interrogating him.
Mukherjee, the secretary of the Calcutta district committee of the CPI (Maoist), was asked to indoctrinate students in the city and send “fresh faces” to Lalgarh to take part in anti-government activities in the aftermath of the setbacks the rebels had suffered in Jungle Mahal, the STF has learnt.
An STF officer said: “The CPI (Maoist) has a number of sympathisers in Jadavpur University and is now trying to spread its support base to other institutions such as Calcutta University. Mukherjee was given the task of motivating students to join the outfit.”
Mukherjee, 31, and two other CPI (Maoist) members were arrested from the Tallah area in north Calcutta on Tuesday night.
Mukherjee, who had studied international relations at Jadavpur University and is proficient in several languages, was close to slain guerrilla leader Kishan.
STF sources said the rebel outfit needed active workers after the deaths and arrests of key members. “The Maoists are targeting educational institutions because they want to motivate students to become future leaders of the outfit,” another STF officer said.
The police said Mukherjee had told them that he left Jungle Mahal three months before Kishan was gunned down in a forest near Jhargram in November last year.
“Mukherjee had spent considerable time in Lalgarh and its adjoining areas during the Maoist movement. He knew the police were after him. He used to stay in the homes of sympathisers in north Calcutta. He visited Nonadanga several times to organise demonstrations by illegal settlers during the government’s eviction drive in March-April,” an officer said.
The police said documents, mostly letters from leaders of the outfit, seized from Mukherjee had revealed that he was in regular touch with members of the CPI (Maoist) state committee.
That ManMohan Singh is’.an Honorable Bureaucrat’ is a media creation.
Another myth is that he is the author of Indian Economic liberalisation.
The Economic liberalisation was initiated by Late.P.V.Narasimha Rao who was the then Prime Minister of India, who appointed Manmohan Singh as Minister Finance and he implemented the economic Reforms as a Bureaucrat would.
The Government wanted the credit for economic liberalisation and at the same did not want to alienate the people who were with the Congress because of its then professed socialist Policy.
The used ManMohan Singh as a front.
Later Man Moahn Singh was selected as the Prime Minister subsequent to the forced refusal of Sonia Gandhi to become the Prime Minister because he was/is perceived to be a man with no political base.
It is worth noting that Manmohan Singh has never contested a direct Election till date.
And he has no political base.
This is the Man who gave a clean chit to A.Raja, ,the master mind of the rs.1,86,000 crore scam , as’ an honest man’
He declared he did not know what was happening in the Telecom Ministry when the scam papers were forwarded to him excepting to state that he had advised the ministry to be transparent.!
On the ISRO scam, he said there was no impropriety involved.
He had conducted a ‘paperless discussion’ with the 2G scam accused Raja and the then and current Finance Minister P.Chidambaram.
On the CWG scam he studiously kept quiet.
When the then Home Ministry under P.Chidambarm tapped the telephone of the then Finance Minister Pronob Mukherjee( now President of India), Singh declared he knew nothing of the affair.!
You name any problem, Singh is eloquently silent or his refrain is ‘I Know not what’
The assessment is right and Singh is not only an acquiescing Prime Minister and a culpable one in various scams.
He shall go down as a sad ,criminally negligent and an indifferent bureaucrat who loves his post.
Story:
India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh helped set his country on the path to modernity, prosperity and power, but critics say the shy, soft-spoken 79-year-old is in danger of going down in history as a failure.
But the image of the scrupulously honorable, humble and intellectual technocrat has slowly given way to a completely different one: a dithering, ineffectual bureaucrat presiding over a deeply corrupt government.
Every day for the past two weeks, India’s Parliament has been adjourned as the opposition bays for Singh’s resignation over allegations of waste and corruption in the allocation of coal-mining concessions.
The story of Singh’s dramatic fall from grace in his second term in office and the slow but steady tarnishing of his reputation has played out in parallel with his country’s decline on his watch. As India’s economy has slowed and as its reputation for rampant corruption has reasserted itself, the idea that the country was on an inexorable road to becoming a global power has increasingly come into question.
“More and more, he has become a tragic figure in our history,” said political historian Ramachandra Guha, describing a man fatally handicapped by his “timidity, complacency and intellectual dishonesty.”
The irony is that Singh’s greatest selling points — his incorruptibility and economic experience — are the mirror image of his government’s greatest failings.
Under Singh, economic reforms have stalled, growth has slowed sharply and therupee has collapsed. But just as damaging to his reputation is the accusation that he looked the other way and remained silent as his cabinet colleagues filled their own pockets.
In the process, he transformed himself from an object of respect to one of ridicule and endured the worst period in his life, said Sanjaya Baru, Singh’s media adviser during his first term.
Attendees at meetings and conferences were jokingly urged to put their phones into “Manmohan Singh mode,” while one joke cited a dentist urging the seated prime minister, “At least in my clinic, please open your mouth.”
