We are clueless, say all 6 varsities-Nor do they have on Education.

It is an open secret that most of these institutions are run by politicians and also by people who have black money and most of them are controlled by people who are illiterate and most of them are thugs (one of them is involved in a murder rap now on bail in Tamil Nadu).
In the guise of promoting education they continue to earn crores, with out providing basic amenities to students and not employing adequate and qualified Professors;pay them meager salaries( make them sign for higher salaries);confer Doctorates on political bigwigs, cine actors;in the name of cultural events they promote obscenity;they indulge in malpractices while admissions are on( there was an instance the staff ran away on seeing the Select Committee by the Anna Varsity came for inspection in Tamil Nadu).
Let the students be taken care of by Government institutions.

Story:
Only people who will regret will be corrupt politicians.
On Monday, the Center told the Supreme Court that it had decided to withdraw the deemed status of 44 universities in the country, of

“We cannot comment on the issue as we haven’t got any official communication from the human resource development ministry,” was the common reply of the six deemed universities.

Most of these universities learnt about the development only when the media contacted them for their next course of action. “When the University Grants Commission (UGC) review committee assessed the college in September, they were quite happy with our performance. However, we are ready to reflect on the reason for recommending our university for the withdrawal of deemed university status,” Alex Joseph, associate PRO, Christ University, told TOI.

Echoing similar views, Santosh M S, joint associate registrar, Jain University, said that a review was done by the HRD ministry in August followed by a review by UGC. “We got a positive response from them. Moreover, our university came into existence in 2009. We will wait for the official communication from the ministry. We are open to review of UGC and the ministry,” he said.
