  • Kamal’s Viswaroopam Details of The Controversy

    Noted Tamil Actor kamal Hassan’s Tri-lingual film .Viswaroopam (Tamil,Telugu and Hindi) is caught in a mire of controversy.

    Produced by Mr.Kamal Hassan at a cost of 90 crores, the film is reportedly about terrorists.

    The film has been cleared by the Censors in all the languages and is running through out the world including Kerala and Andhra.

    Though the film is approved for release in Karnataka, the film has not opened up ,it is learnt at the request of Tamil Nadu Distributors.

    The funniest part is none of the people who are objecting to the Film has seen the Movie!

    Complaints.

    1.It Hurts Minorities’ ,Read Muslims,Sentiments.

    2.Leaders of the Muslim Groups who participated in a panel discussion in Tamil News Channel SUN News advanced very strange reasons.

    a) Leader of the Group who indulges in Violence who speaks Tamil,  is a Foreigner.

    So what Kamal meant is he is Tamil speaking Muslim!

    b)There is a scene( they say they have not seen the Movie!)a brutal takes place when Koran is recited and Killers call ‘Alalh Ho Akbar’

    c)  In Tamil Nadu we are living with The Hindus as brothers;by seeing this film they will look at us differently.

    d) As it is we unable to  get houses in Tamil Nadu because we are Muslims.

    e) Every producer must show us the story and film as it  is being produced and only after our concurrence the Film must be released!

    f) If the Movie is released, we will not get Brides for our Boys!

    My reply.

    Hurts Minorities.

    No body gets hurt when ever a Terrorist Bombs?

    All Terrorists are not Muslims but most of them are.

    All Muslims are not terrorists, but some are.

    In this case, do not judge even before seeing the Movie.

    Muslims who have seen the Film,from Kerala and Andhra say there is no substance in these allegations.

    2 a)The leader speaks Tamil though A foreigner.

    So there are no Tamil Speaking Muslims who bombed in Coimbatore?

    You expect a  Foreign terrorist speak in Tamil throughout the movie?

    2 b) Murder is committed when some one reads The Koran?

    What did the terrorists exhort when they sawed, maimed,shot people?

    2 c If you are living so amiably with the Hindus in Tamil Nadu, and if they are going to change by watching this Movie, well..this is  some special relationship of Religious Amity!

    2 d) We are not getting houses.

    True partly.

    This has nothing to do with Mr.Kamal Hassan or Mr.Kamal Hassan.

    This is because of the terrorists’ attacks and the apprehension that some would be tenants might belong that Minority of  Muslims  who are rabid fanatics.

    2 e ) Our concurrence is needed to produce a Film.

    What can one comment on a statement as silly as this!

    2 f) Since when Muslims have started taking Brides from the other Communities?

    If they mean within their Communities, that only means that they suspect the Bride groom might be a terrorist.

    Various Muslim organisations demanded a ban on the screening of actor-producer Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam‘, saying “it will affect social harmony” in Chennai.

    M H Jawahirullah, MLA and President, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, said representatives of various Muslim organisations met the City Police Commissioner S George demanding that the screening of the movie be banned.

    “The screening of the movie will affect social harmony in the state. We plan to meet the Home Secretary, besides moving the Censor Board,” he said.

    Jawahirullah replied in the affirmative when asked if they planned to move the court if required.

    Muslim organisations had earlier demanded that the film be screened to them prior to its release, expressing concern over the depiction of the community in the movie.

    He said Haasan had organised a special screening of the movie for them following their demand.

    The thespian had already courted controversy after taking a U-turn on his decision to release the movie on Direct-to-Home (DTH) platform with theatre owners red-flagging his decision.”

    ஆக தமிழ்நாட்டில் மட்டுமே தியேட்டர் ரிலீஸ் என்ற நிலையில், எத்தனை திரையரங்குகளில் என்பது கேள்விக்குறியாய் இருந்தது. ஆரம்பத்தில் கமல் 400 திரையரங்குகளில் வரும் என்றார்.. பின்னர் சில நாட்கள் முன்பு குறைந்தது 300 தியேட்டர்களாவது ரிலீஸ் செய்யும் என்றார். நேற்று முன்தினம் கமிஷ்னர் அலுவலகத்தில் புகார் குடுக்கவரும்போது 200 தியேட்டர்களாக இருக்கலாம் என்ற தகவல் கசிந்தது. ஆனால் உண்மையில் 30 முதல் 40 திரையரங்குகளே ரிலீஸ் செய்ய முன்வந்தாக தெரிகிறது.

    முன்னதாக சென்ற வாரத்தில் கிட்டத்தட்ட 30 லட்சம் பேர் முன்பதிவு செய்திருப்பதாக திடீரென ஒரு செய்தி வெளியானது. நாமும் அதை வெளியிட்டிருந்தோம். சினிமா ஆட்களுடன் நெருங்கிய தொடர்பில் இருக்கும், முன்பு விநியோகஸ்தராக இருந்த, ஒரு பிரபல நபர் தனது பேஸ்புக்கில் விலாவரியாய் எழுதியிருந்ததை அடிப்படையாய் வைத்து வந்த அந்த செய்தி ஆதாரமற்றதாய் போய்விட்டது. அந்த நபரிடமே அதைப்பற்றி விசாரித்தபோது அது ஆந்தையார் ரிப்போர்டரிடமிருந்து வந்த தகவல் எனவும்,இந்த DTH பற்றி தான் பல வருடமாய் கவனித்து தகவல்களை சேகரித்து வைத்துள்ளதாகவும், 10 கோடி DTH இணைப்புகள் இருப்பதால் 30 லட்சம் இணைப்புகள் நடப்பது எளிது என்றும், கமலின் பேஸ்புக் பேஜில் அதை பகிர்ந்துள்ளேன் அதை அவர் மறுக்கவில்லை எனவே.. தனது கணக்கு தப்பாது என்றார். அவர் சொன்னதைப் பார்க்கும் போது வாய்ப்பு இருக்குமோ எனத் தோன்றியது. ஆனால் உண்மை வேறுமாதிரியாய் இருந்திருக்கிறது.

    There have been claims and counter claims on who discovered America.

    This assertion is being viewed as an attempt by the Muslim group to demand immigration to US.

    In a Television interview to a Saudi TV Station on Dec 27,,Nihad Awad,the co-founder of the Council on American Islamic Relations.

    “Some documents and accounts indicate that Muslim seafarers were the first to reach the U.S., [so] the bottom line is that Islam played a part in the establishment and development of the U.S.,” Awad told the Saudi interviewer, in an interview in a New York studio.

    CAIR did not respond to The Daily Caller’s request for an explanation of Awad’s comments, which were recorded by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

    Awad’s group bills itself as a “civil rights” group, but five of its former employees have been jailed or deported for terror offenses, and FBI officials refuse to meet Awad because of his ties to jihadi groups, such as Hamas.

    ‘In the early 20th century, a pair of Smithsonian-funded archaeologists (Prof. S.A Jordonand G.E Kinkaid) claimed that they found remnants of a thriving Egyptian civilizationstowed within a series of caverns carved into the side of a remote portion of the Grand Canyon.     Ingenious logic!

    ‘Ban The Cross’ is not a slogan by Islamist or a terrorist Outfit .

    But by a  Feature Writer from The Telegraph.

    In a blog he expressed this view.

    The instance relates to two separate incidents, one involving a Muslim Girl and another a Christian.

    “So here we are again. A nine-year-old girl from south London has beenforbidden from wearing her hijab at school. As surely as night follows day, her family are suing the school for religious discrimination. Commentators on the Left, like the education journalist Susan Elkin, tie themselves in tautologies in efforts to call for toleration: “I know it’s hard for those of us who didn’t grow up in strict Muslim families to understand why it’s a sin for a child of nine to be bare headed in front of male teachers,” she concedes, “but would a uniform coloured headscarf really affect teaching and learning in the classroom?”

    Which leads us to draw the inevitable comparison with the case of Celestina Mba, the Christian Baptist who was sacked for refusing to work on Sundays. A High Court judge, Mr Justice Langstaff, upheld the decision to dismiss her. And, of course, the case of Nadia Eweida and Shirley Chaplin, the two Christian women who claim that they were discriminated against when their employers barred them from wearing crosses at work. The Government positioned itself against the pair, stating that because wearing the cross is not a “requirement” of the Christian faith, wearing one in defiance of a ban can be a sackable offence. Or, as their lawyers pithily put it, Christians must “choose between their job and their faith….

     

    Well taken point.

    If wearing scarf affects learning,so is Cross.

    Both are ridiculous.

    Again if people are dismissed for not working on Sundays,where is Civil Liberty?

    If wearing a Cross is not a requirement of the Christian faith,then it can be banned.

    So if you ban Hijab on the count that it distracts, so can the Cross be banned.

    Hijab at least has religious sanction.

    As in Female Genital Mutilation(FGM) ,these steps are wholly unwarranted and an incitement of the Muslim Community..

    To take a semantic tack: it is generally recognised that there is an important difference between tolerance and toleration. The former usually denotes an acceptance of alternative ways of life, whereas the latter tends to mean putting up with something with which one disagrees. It is often said that one of our best qualities in this country is our live-and-let-live mentality, and for this reason it is counter-intuitive to make a qualitative judgment about other people’s beliefs. But as even Susan Elkin’s commendably open-minded article demonstrates, in these cases it is necessary, however awkward, to distinguish between these two terms.

    The fact is that wearing a cross to work, or arranging one’s shifts so that one doesn’t have to work on Sundays, is wholly benign and understandable. Even from an atheist point of view, it would be deeply unreasonable to object to people expressing their faith in these ways. Nothing more than tolerance is called for.

    Amidst high drama, MIM MLAAkbaruddin Owaisi, who is facing multiple cases for his alleged ” hate speech“, was on Tuesday arrested after medical tests in a government hospital here a day after his arrival from London.(times of india)

    Akbaruddin Owaisi has returned from his Holiday jaunt and he has been taken to Government Hospital Hyderabad before his impending arrest for his ‘Hate Speech’

    Police explain this step as he is a “representative of the people”

    Has this courtesy been extended to others?

    The despicable inaction by the central Government in delaying the holding of a Special Session of the Parliament in handling of the amendments to rape Act and its defiant refusal to take action against Akbaruddin Owaisi, who has been spewing venom against Hindus by inciting the Muslims ,exhorting  them to kill Hindus, has one Common  reason, a despicable one.

    While the Delhi gang rape victim belongs to the Hindu(majority) community,Owaisi is from the Minority Muslim Community.

    I am sure that the Government would have swung into action if the gang rape victim had  been a Muslim and Owaisi had been a Hindu inciting Hindus.

    The pseudo secularism is taking the country and the Society towards destruction.

    What more the Governments expects?

    More gang rapes and Hindus and Muslims killing each other?

    In the case of Owaisi , what is the meaning of the  Constitution of India, if he is allowed to go scot-free?

    ‘The Constitution of India does not provide for a state religion. Article 25(1) states, “Subject to public order, morality and health and to the other provisions of this Part, all persons are equally entitled to freedom of conscience and the right freely to profess, practise and propagate religion”. Article 19 gives all citizens the right to freedom of speech and expression but subject to “reasonable restrictions” for preserving inter alia “public order, decency or morality”. Article 28 prohibits any religious instruction in any educational institution wholly maintained out of state funds. Article 51A(h) imposes on every citizen the duty to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform.[1]

    Laws restricting the freedom of expression

    India prohibits hate speech by several sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and by other laws which put limitations on the freedom of expression. Section 95 of the Code of Criminal Procedure gives the government the right to declare certain publications “forfeited” if the “publication … appears to the State Government to contain any matter the publication of which is punishable under Section 124A or Section 153A or Section 153B or Section 292 or Section 293 or Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code”.[2]

    Section 153A of the penal code says, inter alia:

    Whoever (a) by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise, promotes or attempts to promote, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever, disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities, or (b) commits any act which is prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities, and which disturbs or is likely to disturb the public tranquility, . . . shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.[3]

    Enacted in 1927, section 295A says:

    Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of any class of [citizens of India], [by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise], insults or attempts to insult the religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to [three years], or with fine, or with both.[4][

    “Hyderabad, Jan 1: The man who filed a case against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi in connection with the latter’s Dec 24 hate speech today urged people to approach the courts with more such petitions. Since K Karunasagar received three death threats on the night of Dec 28, he has already appealed for security. The Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission has directed the Hyderabad Police Commissioner to enquire into the matter and submit a report by Jan 17. Karunasagar isn’t the only one to be offended by Owaisi’s utterances. Yesterday, the BJP asked the Congress-led government in the state to book the MIM leader as he has made several provocative speeches of late. State BJP president Kishan Reddy pointed out that the government could ask the Election Commission to de-recognise MIM and also get the membership of Owaisi, MLA representing the Chandrayan Gutta constituency, annulled by the Assembly Speaker. Meanwhile, group of eminent citizens demanded that Owaisi be prosecuted for inciting violence. Stressing that his statements can “divide society, vitiate peace and lead to conflicts and riots”, film maker Mahesh Bhatt, social activist Swami Agnivesh, Hamid Mohammad Khan, Irfan Engineer, Mazher Hussain, Ram Punyani, M Mandal, Dr Asghar Ali Engineer and Sandeep Panday called for “exemplary action in the matter to ensure that such intolerable acts are never repeated again, anywhere by anyone and secure peace and harmony in the country.” Owaisi had been particularly belligerent while addressing MIM supporters at Nirmal town in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh on Dec 24, 2012.   • US Woman Pushes Indian before Train Thinking A Muslim

    Islamophobia  has reached such an extent in US that a woman pushed an immigrant from India, a Hindu in front of  a Train and he was killed.

    This is waiting to happen.

     

    The social divide created after 9/11 has grown such that any immigrant is suspected of being a Muslim.

     

    Until steps are taken to correct this at the social level this will escalate.

    The Leaders of the Islamic Community and the Christian Community should address this issue and take steps to ensure amity.

    TRAGEDY: Busted suspect Erika Menendez allegedly told cops yesterday that hatred of Muslims over the 9/11 attacks led her to shove Sunando Sen — a Hindu — in front of a 7 train at this Queens station. Someone who answered the phone at her home said she’s bipolar.

    THE SUSPECT: Detectives lead a ranting Erika Menendez from the 112th Precinct station house in Queens last night. A tip from someone who recognized her in Brooklyn led police to apprehend her.

     

    Erika Menendez, 31, was charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime after admitting to investigators that she pushed Sunando Sen, 46 — a Hindu — in front of a 7 train in Sunnyside on Thursday night, officials said.

    She allegedly said she singled him out because of his religion.

    “She is accused of committing a subway commuter’s worst nightmare — suddenly and senselessly pushed into the path of an oncoming train, shoved from behind with no chance to defend himself,” said Queens DA Richard Brown.

    “She told police that she pushed a Muslim off the train tracks. She said, ‘I’ve hated Hindus and Muslims since 2001, since they put down the Twin Towers. I have been beating them up since.’ ”

    There were no Hindus involved in the 9/11 attacks.

    Menendez faces 25 years to life in prison if found guilty.

    She looked wild as she was escorted from the 112th Precinct station house.

    She wailed incoherently, contorted her face into what looked like a fiendish grin, and struggled as officers forced her into an unmarked car.

    She appeared equally unhinged later during her arraignment hearing in Queens Criminal Court. Menendez was laughing so hard that she was visibly shaking as Assistant District Attorney Michelle Kaszuba read the charges against her.

    “You’re going to have to have your client stop laughing,” Judge Gia Morris said, scolding Menendez’s lawyer.
