    Islam they say preaches Peace and in fact they utter ‘Peace Be? on Allah’ very other sentence.

    What exactly does the Koran say on those who leave Islam?

    The performer of ridda is denoted murtadd (m) and murtadda (f).
    It is generally assumed that the Koran only mention severe punishments for a murtadd in theafterlife. But there are passages that may well be interpreted to impose death penalty in this life, as is the case with sura 9. These aya clearly deal first with non-Muslims, but in the sense of breaking oaths, they can be said to point at murtadds as well.

    57 Verily, the worst of beasts in God’s eyes are those who misbelieve and will not believe;

    In the hadiths, on the other hand, there are numerous refereces both to severe punishment in this life, as well as references to executions or other severe reactions to murtadds in the times of the early Muslims.
    Muhammad is said to have ordered the killing of anyone leaving Islam, Ali is reported to have burned murtadds, and A’isha is said to have commanded the slaying, crucifixion or banishment of murtadds.

    With all schools of Sharia, the regulations declare that a male murtadd must be killed, while a woman is to be imprisoned until she returns to the faith. While this regulation is rarely carried out in most modern Muslim communities, that does not mean it is an abandoned regulation. With some exceptions, it would be indicative of the reason why few Muslims risk their lives going public with their new non-Muslim conviction.
    The concept of ridda has in modern times been expanded to include disloyalty or blasphemous acts, meaning that a Muslim can both remain Muslim and still be defined as a murtadd. Depending on the seriousness of this disloyalty or blashemy, it may be punished as severely as regular ridda.
    Arabic has no specific term for Atheism, but when distinguishing between a Muslim apostate and an Atheist of non-Muslim background, the term “ilhad” is used. But “ilhad” is actually synonymous with “heresy” or “apostasy.” Not distinguishing Atheism from the rejection of an original Muslim faith, but rather defining an Atheist as one who specifically has rejected God, Sharia employs ridda regulations against Atheism. This also relates to the Koran 8:57, in which the people who refuse to believe are deemed “the worst of beasts”, who, according to the Koran 9:13-14, may suffer the hardest of punishments.
    ‘Ridda’ is also used for the wars fought in Arabia between the Muslims of Mecca and tribes around the peninsula.

    The role of Muslims in the Sri Lanka conflict is debatable.

    They were not subscribing to the Tamil Elam nor any other solution to alleviate the sufferings of the Tamils.

    They were so inimical Tamil Cause  LTTE Prabhakaran expelled them from the Alliance.

    They have been the quislings right from the period of Sirimavo Bandaranaike to Rajapakshe now.

    Muslims condoned Tamil genocide and actually celebrated it.

    For them Islam first and last.

    Sinhalese are also equally fanatical.

    They have used the Muslims against the Tamils and now are tightening the screws on the Muslims by allowing the sale of Non –Halal Meat!

    ‘A CURIOUS story in a local English daily caught my eye the other day. It seemed the Sri Lanka Muslim Council had given in to demands that meat could be sold without halal certification. This is a huge success for radical Buddhist groups who have been orchestrating an anti-Muslim campaign for the last few years.

    Mosques have been attacked, prayers disrupted, and Muslims in general accused of being anti-state. The Muslim Tamil National Alliance has written to the Secretary General of the United Nations, asking him for protection, and protesting against this nasty campaign.

    Leading the anti-Muslim charge is a group called the Bodu Bela Sena, or Buddhist Force. Headed by ultra-nationalistic monks, the group follows a xenophobic agenda of “Sri Lanka for the Buddhists”. Of late, Buddhist monks have begun playing a growing and retrogressive role in the island’s politics.

    The monks first flexed their muscles to shore up the Rajapakse government’s resolve to crush the Tamil insurgency. First, they blocked any possibility of compromise by offering the Tamil Tigers greater autonomy. To build up pressure, they formed a political party and won enough seats to take a place in the coalition government.

    Then, when President Mahinda Rajapakse’s brother, defence secretary Gotabaya, was facing difficulties in finding enough recruits for the army, a group of monks fanned out across the Buddhist areas to motivate thousands of young men. These recruits were assured that they would not lose karma by fighting and killing in a war as they would be doing so in the cause of Buddhism.

    The brutal civil war ended nearly four years ago in a bloodbath that is now the subject of intense scrutiny and criticism from abroad. The ongoing session of the UN Human Rights Commission at Geneva is about to vote on a resolution initiated by the US, demanding an international investigation into the fate of tens of thousands of Tamils said to be killed in the last days of the fighting in the north of the island.

    Against this backdrop, it is odd that the government is doing so little to clamp down on the anti-Muslim campaign. Should it gain support and traction, the results could be very bad news. Muslims are mostly concentrated in three areas: in and around Galle and Colombo, and in the coastal areas of the north-east. The latter are mostly poor fishermen, while urban Muslims are heavily represented in business and the professions.”

That is a fundamental distinction because the claim to a homeland can serve as the basis for a separatist claim. Any claim to separatism by the SL Muslims cannot therefore be taken seriously at all, and understandably they have never made that claim. Furthermore, whenever there has been controversy between the Sinhalese and the Tamils the Muslims have always taken the Sinhalese side against the Tamils, and they have done so instantly, unconditionally, and wholeheartedly. It is worth mentioning that during the July ’83 holocaust against the Tamils a top Muslim politician organized thugs in a part of Colombo to make a grand Muslim contribution to the holocaust. It is worth mentioning also that at this time last year some members of the All Ceylon Jamiath-ul Ulema were in Geneva canvassing Muslim votes for the Sri Lankan side. This year the ACJU is in the dock. It would not be an exaggeration to say that it is difficult to imagine a more loyal minority than the Muslims. They have in fact been servile to the Sinhalese power elite.

    i  received a forward from my brother’s son.

    Three has been no protest over the beheading of Indian Soldiers by Pakistani Soldiers.

     

    But there is protest over the hanging of a man who has attacked the Parliament of India and killed people!

     

    There is no ‘hurt’ over 6000 Indians jailed in maximum security jails in Saudi Arabia.

     

    ‘Over 6,000 Indians are currently languishing in foreign jails with the maximum of 1,691 being lodged in Saudi Arabia.   External affairs minister Salman Khurshid, replying to a question in Rajya Sabha, said a total of 6,293 Indians are imprisoned in various

    countries.

     

    He said 1,012 Indians are lodged in jails in United Arab Emirates followed by 441 in the US, 426 people in United Kingdom, 377 in neighbouring Nepal, 279 in Qatar and 225 in Kuwait.

    The number of Indians lodged in Pakistani prisons is 224 while 114 people are languishing in jails in Australia, 167 in Bangladesh, 187 in Malaysia, 52 in Iran and 27 in Afghan prisons”

    There is no anger at the discriminatory and insulting treatment meted out to Indian Muslims the Middle East,Indonesia and Pakistan to name a few Countries.

     

    Why?

     

    Look at these Statistics.

    Alcohol use in predominantly Muslim regions of the world increased by 25 percent between 2005 and 2010.

    Statistics provided by research group Euromonitor International reported a constant increase in the use of alcohol in several countries where the Muslim religion, which prohibits the use of any product capable of affecting behaviour (drugs included), is dominant. Quoting the survey, Le Monde reported that between 2005 and 2010 the average consumption by the French dropped from 104.2 litres of alcohol per year to 96.7, while in the same period in the Middle East and Africa area it increased by 25%, from 11.7 billion litres to 15.2 billion.[2]

    “The Gulf is an important market for us to continue growing,” said Jane Ewing, Diageo’s general manager for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The London-based maker of Johnnie Walker whisky and Smirnoff vodka posted a 16 per cent rise in regional net sales last year [2010] and expects sales to double in the next five years in the MENA region. The Gulf Arab region alone accounted for 44 per cent of Diageo’s total sales in MENA, with the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon being its two largest markets.[3]

    According to the study [cited by the Alriyadyh Arabic language daily], Arab countries spend more than $10 billion on Viagra and other anti-impotence medicines every year and that Saudi Arabia [ranked sixth largest consumer of sex drugs] alone spends over $1.5 billion [10 times more than Russia although the population in Russia is more than 10 times the Saudis]. It is followed by Egypt and the UAE, which spend about $one billion and $500 million respectively.[4]
    While alcohol consumption is supposedly forbidden, the Muslim world has seen nearly double the increase in alcohol consumption in the past decade, according to a new study.Across the Islamic world, The Economist magazine said, consumption is on the rise, with an increase of some 72 percent between 2001 and 2011.

    “I believe it 100 percent,” said Egyptian lawyer Ahmed, who regularly joins his friends at a bar after work for a beer.

    “We just like to enjoy ourselves and this whole religion thing has not been something that hinders us,” he told Bikyamasr.com.

    Surprisingly, the Islamic world’s increase in boozing has been as the rest of the world has only grown in its alcohol consumption by some 30 percent.

    The magazine, in its report on the new figures, said that the “rise [in alcohol-sales in the Middle East] is unlikely to be accounted for by non-Muslims and foreigners alone.”

    Muslims are just as likely to partake in drinking as their non-Muslim counterparts. Granted, there are some Muslims who maintain abstinence to drinking, but the magazine and others believe Muslims have had a direct role in the rise of alcohol.

    Although a taboo in many Muslim countries, more so in places like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Pakistan where it is legally banned, drinking is still commonplace.

    In other places, such as Lebanon, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia and Egypt it is legal to consume alcohol and bars are often crowded.

    While there are some countries where drinking is lower, overall drinking is becoming a common part of many lives in the Islamic world, from Morocco to Indonesia.

    Children

    • 4 out of 5 Middle-Eastern women are sexually abused between the ages of 3 and 6 by family members.
    • More than half of all Yemeni girls are married before reaching puberty.
    • About 1 in 10 pregnancies in the Arab world ends in abortion. In Pakistan every 6th pregnancy is terminated.

    • 2011 Pew study finds Muslims are more “phobic” of non-Muslims than the non-Muslims are “Islamophobic” of Muslims.
    • According to FBI 2008 statistics, anti-Muslim incidents in the US are dropping and only account for 1.3% of all hate crimes.
    • Jewish victims of hate crimes in the US outnumber Muslim victims by a 10-1 ratio.

    • Turkey has more journalists in prison than any other country in the world, almost double that of China and Iran.
    • 40% of Indonesian Muslims say they would use violence against those blaspheming Islam.
    • 78% of British Muslims support punishing people who publish cartoons mocking the Prophet Muhammad.

    • As of 1999 in Iran, more than 4000 lesbians and gays had been executed since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
    • Two thirds of all reported incidents of anti-gay violence in Amsterdam are by Muslim youths.

      • Google survey finds mostly Muslim states seek access to sex-related websites (they rank 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 & 8 in the top 10).
      • Iranians made the highest number of visits to “immoral sites” on Ashura Day.
      • Approximately 2 million online users watch pornographic films each minute in Turkey.
      • Pakistan ranked No. 1 in searches for “child sex,” “animal sex,” “rape sex,” “camel sex,” “dog sex,” “rape video.” (read more)

        • There are 164 Jihad verses in the Qur’an & nearly 500 verses (roughly 1 out of every 12) that speak of Hell.
        • Practicing Muslims recite anti-Semitic & anti-Christian rhetoric at least 17 times a day, and over 5,000 times a year.
        • Compared to Mein Kampf, the non-abrograted Medinan verses of the Qur’an contain more than 2x the amount of anti-Jewish text.

    Story:

    After the ‘Vishwaroopam‘ row, now Christian groups have filed a complaint against Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’, claiming that it is anti-Christian.

    The Indian Christian Democratic Party on Monday filed a complaint with police commissioner S George against the film. They alleged the film had objectionable scenes referring to Christianity and sought their deletion. They warned of intensified protests if police did not initiate action.

    Christudas, a representative of the organisation, told reporters that the filmmaker had hurt the sentiments of the people belonging to the Christian community. “We have demanded that the director remove scenes which hurt sentiments of the Christian community. They should take action against the director if the scenes are not immediately removed,” he said.

    Such scenes will give wrong ideas about the religion, he added. ‘Kadal’, was released on February 1. Actors Arjun and Aravind Samy are in the lead roles besides Gautham and Thulasi, children of yesteryear stars Karthik and Radha.

    Another Christian group lodged a complaint with the chief secretary demanding to ban the movie ‘Adhibhagavan’ as it hurts Hindu sentiments.

    Kamal Haasan‘s ‘Vishwaroopam’ had faced hurdles after Muslim groups objected to it claiming the film offended their sentiments. The state government had banned it, following which Kamal moved the Madras high court.
