    Hidden Pages Of Indian Independence.

History is what the Historians choose to write.

I have come across information on The History of The Independence.

This is backed up by good references and sources,

    Read On.

“British were in trouble in 1946. Indians in the Armed forces were no longer trust worthy. The mutiny, that no one in our generation has ever heard of, did to the British colonization, what no other action could have done in the long struggle of 250 years.

Said Sir Stafford Cripps, intervening in the debate on the motion to grant Indian Indepence in the British House of Commons in 1947 (‘The Freedom Struggle and the Dravidian Movement’ by P.Ramamurti, Orient Longman, 1987)

…The Indian Army in India is not obeying the British officers. We have recruited our workers for the war; they have been demobilised after the war. They are required to repair the factories damaged by Hitler’s bombers. Moreover, they want to join their kith and kin after five and a half years of separation. Their kith and kin also want to join them. In these conditions if we have to rule India for a long time, we have to keep a permanent British army for a long time in a vast country of four hundred millions. We have no such army….”

In August 1945, Subhash Bose had reportedly died, while he collaborated with the Japanese and Hitler to fight the British. After the Second World War was over, three of the top officers of the Indian National Army (INA) – General Shah Nawaz Khan (Muslim), Colonel Prem Sehgal (Hindu) and Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon (Sikh) were put on trial at the Red Fort in Delhi. Their crime: “waging war against the King Emperor”

While Nehru was busy “defending” the three; he (Nehru), Gandhi, Mohd. Ali Jinnah, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad had come to a secret pact that if Subhash Bose was to enter India (as many knew he hadn’t died in 1945), he would be handed over and charged.

Unprecedentedly, these trials were very public. Due to the sympathy toward Netaji and the INA in general, there was an instant and large outpouring of passion and patriotism in Indians. These stories were being shared via wireless sets and through media in general on the ships, where the sailors who were being given bad treatment (lack of proper service facilties), got inspired to go out and join together in a strike and rebel against the government.

The mutiny started on 18 February 1946 and by next evening a Naval Central Strike Committee was formed where Leading Signalman M.S Khan and Petty Officer Telegraphist Madan Singh were unanimously elected President and Vice-President respectively.

The spread of the Naval mutiny, which started in Bombay was complete – Karachi, Calcutta, Cochin and Vizag. 78 ships, 20 shore establishments and 20,000 sailors had been involved in the strike.

Seeing this Naval strike, the Bombay-ites did a one day general strike. Even the Royal Indian Air Force and local police forces joined in the other cities. The NCOs in the British Indian army openly ignored and defied the orders of the British superiors. In Madras and Pune, the Indian Army revolted in the British Garrisons.

Riots broke out all over the country. The mutineers were hoisting 3 flags – Indian National COngress, Muslim League and CPI. British people in cars were made to get off and shout “Jai Hind” by the mutineers. The Indian Tricolor was hoisted on many ships and establishments, by just the second day.

Such was the crisis that destroyers were gotten and stationed at the Gateway of India in Bombay to deal with the mutineers. Navies of Australia and Canada were also summoned.

The third day into this – the Royal Air Force flew an entire squadron of Bombers over Bombay Harbor to show support. Meanwhile the sailors had taken over HMIS Bahadur, Chamak and Himalaya and from the Royal Naval Anti-Aircraft School .

It was by that time that the decision to confront the Navy ratings was taken by the British and the sailors aboard the destroyer Hindustan were challenged. The sailors lost many lives and could not fight back much and in the process the ship Hindustan was destroyed.

Betrayal by Gandhi, Nehru, Jinnah and Azad

Despite the extensive public support and support from all the wings of the Armed forces – Army, Navy, Air force, and even police – apart from unanimous coming together of people across religious groups at a time when the religious situation had been made really bad due to Partition debate and passion, ALL the National Leaders not only did NOT support the Navy Mutineers and their supporters but instead condemned them.

They were leaderless, surely, but they had achieved what NO OTHER generation and group of Indians had achieved in 250 years – turn the Indian Armed forces personnel against their Masters. Subhash Bose had imagined this kind of situation. Little did he know that from the failure of his own Army, would arise a rebellion and a will to fight amongst the rank and file of Indian soldiers hitherto fighting dutifully for the British, often against their own countrymen, to strike back.

The Mainstream politicians – from Jinnah to Gandhi, to Nehru to Maulana Azad – ALL let these final Freedom fighters down. They just abandoned them and except for preaching they did nothing to help them.

In midst of one of most unprecedented religious tension in the sub-continent, this rebellion and its genesis was a Godsend to reinforce religious and class harmony, which was forged instantly WITHOUT any machination. Yet, it was squandered…. probably deliberately by all those who promised us peace and harmony.

These people – the so-called Mainstream politicians spearheaded by Gandhi were interested in only their hold of their masses.. to see themselves being upstaged by a bunch of young upstarts with romantic patriotism in their eyes was unnerving. (James L. Raj; Making and unmaking of British India. Abacus. 1997. p598) Show of fake “constitutional process” and “principles” was a good way to brush them aside despite all they had been able to do.

    Real Reason for Independence

So what were the three things which convinced the British that India could not be governed by force anymore?

Subhash BoseIndian National Army and the Royal Navy Uprising..

When Justice P.B. Chakrabarty, the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court once asked the British PM Lord Clement Atlee – responsible for conceding India’s Independence, the all important question –

“what was the extent of Gandhi’s influence upon the British decision to quit India”

His response, with a smirk: “m-i-n-i-m-a-l!“

So, then why did they have to leave if the Quit India movement of 1942 had subsided and nothing major happened in the mainstream politics – then why did the British have to leave so suddenly in 1947??

    Clement Atlee’s response:

Erosion of loyalty to the British Crown among the Indian army and navy personnel as a result of the military activities of Netaji

Such was the Congress party scared of the truth coming out that as late as 1965, a Marxist theater actor and writer Utpal Dutt was arrested for writing a passionate play on the VERY event that ensured India its Independence – the Royal Navy Uprising!

It is customary for the West‘s so called Historians to distort  History to suit their masters.

You would think that the Persian Kings were barbarians, uncouth and sexually deprived if you go by the Film ‘300’(Is the name correct?
All those who defeat them or the places they want to colonise are barbarians and the places as highly degenerate.

Remember Catherine Mayo’s Book on India, which Mahatma Gandhi called as ‘Sanitary Inspectors Report?

Not merely Alexander but all the Kings and the culture of India is portrayed as decaying, antediluvian, practices are animistic ,Religion is absolute non sense.

These thoughts are passed on in a subtle way.

For instance look at the way the Indians are made to look in the ‘Apocalypto‘.

    They look savages.

At the end there is a subtle hint that Christianity  will deliver them.

All Christian Missionaries embark on their Noble profession to emancipate the ‘heathen’

The injustice meted out to Indian History and Culture is incalculable.

Indian History has been distorted so much with the effect we doubt our sources(Indian)

Iran Has guts to hit back,.

    Do we?

(P.N.Oak used to publish a series of Articles on Indian History in  Babu Rao Patel’s Mother India. Can some body tell me whether it is available?)

“But seen through Persian eyes, Alexander is far from “Great“.

He razed Persepolis to the ground following a night of drunken excess at the goading of a Greek courtesan, ostensibly in revenge for the burning of the Acropolis by the Persian ruler Xerxes.

Persians also condemn him for the widespread destruction he is thought to have encouraged to cultural and religious sites throughout the empire.

The emblems of Zoroastrianism – the ancient religion of the Iranians – were attacked and destroyed. For the Zoroastrian priesthood in particular – the Magi – the destruction of their temples was nothing short of a calamity.

The influence of Greek language and culture has helped establish a narrative in the West that Alexander’s invasion was the first of many Western crusades to bring civilisation and culture to the barbaric East.

But in fact the Persian Empire was worth conquering not because it was in need of civilising but because it was the greatest empire the world had yet seen, extending from Central Asia to Libya.

Persia was an enormously rich prize.

Look closely and you will find ample evidence that the Greeks admired the Persian Empire and the emperors who ruled it.

Much like the barbarians who conquered Rome, Alexander came to admire what he found, so much so that he was keen to take on the Persian mantle of the King of Kings.

And Greek admiration for the Persians goes back much earlier than this.”

  • Grand Father Of Everyone is Living in Britain!

By the result obtained it can be sated, utmost, that the ancestors of Mr.Ian Kinnaird, 72,who lives in Britain, were from a West AfricanVillage.

    Descendant of Eve.
    IAN KINNAIRD

To say it is from Eve is non sense.

The earliest trace that has been established in the result is the fact the ancestor was from West Africa.

But how do you name her as Eve?

Or is n new campaign of establishing English Superiority?

If we accept Eve as the first woman, by logic all of us are her grandchildren, not merely the Britons.

“The Britons (sometimes Brythons or British) were the Celtic people culturally dominating Great Britain from the Iron Age until the Early Middle Ages.[1]They spoke the Insular Celtic language known as British or Brythonic. They lived throughout Britain south of about the Firth of Forth; after the 5th century Britons also migrated to continental Europe, where they established the settlements of Brittany in France and the obscure Britonia in what is now GaliciaSpain.[1] Their relationship to the Picts north of the Forth has been the subject of much discussion, though most scholars accept that thePictish language during this time was a Brythonic language related to, but perhaps distinct from, British.[2]

The earliest evidence for the Britons and their language in historical sources dates to the Iron Age.[1] After the Roman conquest of 43 AD, a Romano-British culture began to emerge. With the advent of the Anglo-Saxon settlement in the 5th century, however, the culture and language of the Britons began to fragment. By the 11th century their descendants had split into distinct groups, and are generally discussed separately as the WelshCornish,Bretons, and the people of the Hen Ogledd (“Old North”). The British language developed into the distinct branches of WelshCornishBreton, andCumbric.[1]

    • Ian Kinnaird, 72, discovered he is effectively the ‘grandfather of everyone in Britain’ after he paid £200 to take the test to trace his ancestry
    • Results showed that Mr Kinnaird, has a genetic marker, L1B1, that can be followed back all the way to an ancient African lineage
    • The complete test results suggest 32% of British men are descended from the original Britons, 12% from ancient Germanic lines, 11% are hunter gatherers and 7% are ancient Irish.

A DNA test on a Scottish pensioner has revealed he is a direct descendent of the first ever woman who lived on Earth 190,000 years ago.

Ian Kinnaird, 72, discovered he is effectively the ‘grandfather of everyone in Britain’ after he paid £200 to take the test to trace his ancestry.

Britain’s DNA, the research team who carried out the test, said the result means that Mr Kinnaird is ‘the grandson of Eve’ – the very first woman.

The test results showed that Mr Kinnaird, a retired lecturer who lives in Halkirk near John O’Groats, has a genetic marker, L1B1, that can be followed back all the way to an ancient African lineage that has never before been found in Western Europe.

He has mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) which is passed through the female side is 30,000 years old and only two genetic mutations removed from the first ‘black Eve’.

Most men, the researchers say, have genes that have incurred around 200 mutations from the earliest humans.

Mr Kinnaird also found that the YDNA marker on the male side of his genetic make-up is Scandinavian and he carries the same genes that is found in a quarter of all Norwegian men.

He said: ‘I have led an unremarkable life until now.

‘This is a real gobsmacker. I seem to carry a gene from West Africa that arrived through the slave trade.

‘I have been researching the links between the slave trade and Liverpool, the area where the female side of my family came from.

‘Africa was part of my geography degree at Hull University in 1959, but i couldn’t have imagined anything like this.

The same L1B1 gene is also carried his 65-year-old sister, Jean.

Alistair Moffat, St Andrews University’s rector and historian, and James Wilson, a geneticist from Edinburgh University, were responsible for setting up the national study and uncovering the startling results of Mr Kinnaird.

Mr Moffat said: ‘It is an astonishing result and means he could have been in the ‘Garden of Eden’.

‘It is further proof that even white Anglo-Saxon Protestants are descended from a black Eve.

‘This lineage appears in Africa, in Senegal, but has never been seen in north-west Europe.

‘It is likely to have reached Britain through the arrival of slaves in Liverpool.

‘A woman who might be called Eve and a man who might be called Adam really existed.

‘Eve, the mother of us all, lived around 190,000 thousand years ago just as homo sapiens were evolving. Other women lived at the same time but only Eve’s mtDNA survived.

‘Adam also lived in central Africa, perhaps only around 140,000 years ago. Only his YDNA survived to father all of the male lineages on earth.

‘Mr Kinnaird cannot pass on his mtDNA but his sister could and she had a daughter who will carry the lineage.’

The aim behind Britain’s DNA is to try and make a ‘family tree of Britain’.

The nationwide study that has examined the DNA of 2,000 people from all over the UK has found that most participants’ genetic markers date back around 3,500 years ago to the days of the earliest Britons, Vikings and even cave painters and hunter gatherers.

The complete test results suggest 32 per cent of British men are descended from the original Britons, 12 per cent from ancient Germanic lines, 11 per cent are hunter gatherers and 7 per cent are ancient Irish.

  • Travel The Roman Empire, Real Time

Who would resist reading History if it is taught this way?

    History, the Novel way
    History made interesting

In a clever bit of technological legerdemain, Stanford University has combined historical research, mapping, and Web technology to bring ancient Roman Empire travel to the Internet. A cross-disciplinary team has created and launched ORBIS: The Stanford Geospatial Network Model of the Roman World. With it, a user can determine how long it will take to travel from any point in the Roman Empire to any other, as well as calculate the cost of transporting goods and people.

This heretofore unnatural union of geographers, technologists, and historians of the ancient world is becoming more and more common under the descriptor of “digital humanities.” ORBIS looks to be one of the most effective examples of its promise.

Built by historian and classicist Walter Scheidel and Stanford Libraries’ digital humanities specialistElijah Meeks, with the assistance of geographer and Web developer Karl Grossner and GIS analyst Noemi Alvarez, the interactive online atlas is based on a host of data. This includes historical tide information and weather; size, grade, and surface of roads; main cities and ports; land, sea, and river routes; vehicle speed (including ships, ox carts, horse, and walking); and the cost of transport.

The time period the system centers on is about 200 CE, when Roman power was at its highest and the empire’s extent was greatest. The atlas is built from 751 sites, most of which are cities and towns, and covers about four million square miles. Two hundred sixty-eight of the sites are ports. The road network mapped on ORBIS includes 52,587 miles of road, including desert tracks and 17,567 miles of rivers and canals.

According to Meeks, the project started when Scheidel happened to see a dynamic distance cartogram of the London tube system. Dynamic distance cartograms distort the layout of their data based on your selection. If you choose one stop, it will show you a map of how close in time expenditure the other stops are, based on information like train connections.

“In building a geographic transportation model of the Roman Empire, you can’t just download an API for distance,” Meeks told Ars. So once the proposal was approved, the principals had to figure out how to collect that data. For land travel, they were able to use itineraria, Roman accounts of time spent traveling various routes. But for sea voyages, similar information did not really exist. It was in creating a model for the missing information that ORBIS’s builders found themselves in the role of pioneers.

They had to write a model for ancient sea travel based on scientific data regarding wind, currents, and weather. Meeks did so using Gephi, the agnostic network analysis and visualization tool. He subsequently imported it into PostGIS, a PostgreSQL open-source database.
