Veerappa Moily, Petroleum Minister went on TV stating that whenever the Government tries to effect some changes in Petroleum pricing, the Ministers are being threatened.
No minister can be sure of his berth in the Cabinet if he dares to challenge the Business Lobby.
More cozy,better for you.
No wonder there is high pressure lobbying by the Cabinet Post aspiration.
As a matter of fact, the Business lobbies decide who should be given tickets even!
These companies have Liaison officers like Nira Radia who fix things.
Listen to Radia tapes in my site, you will know how the fixing is done for Minister ship and for even Media fixing.
We have a Law on paer that each party must declare the information of Donations.
But what is reported is only a small negligible portion of what is collected.
“Between 2009-11 period, the Congress party earned almost Rs 750 crore out of which Rs 500 crore were from selling party coupons. While the party got Rs 111 .73 crore from donations, it earned Rs 44.11 crore from interest. Interestingly, the party got only 12 per cent of the donations that was above Rs 20,000 and about which the party must give the details of the donors. So the party has not declared how it got approximately Rs 600 crore…
Even the BJP has not been any different. The party earned Rs 425 crore during the 2009-11 period out of which Rs 300 crore was from voluntary donations. Approximately Rs 30 crore was as lifelong contribution fund and Rs 3 crore from interest. The party got just 22 per cent of the money from donors who gave more than Rs 20,000.
Experts say that political parties fear that they are brought under the RTI, then they will have to share details bout their earnings. Between 2010 and 2011 the Congress received only Rs 20,000 or more from only 417 donors while 502 donations made to the BJP were above the Rs 20,000 mark. AIADMK, Shiromani Akali Dal and BSP got no single donations above Rs 20,00..
They have been making noises about the inaccuracy of these Opinion Polls, their neutrality and the fact that these Polls are ‘bought; depends n who is reported to be winning.
Democracy is about communication and transparency.
Information is meant to be shared . analysed and a decision arrived at.
If Publication of information is to be banned, then Ministry of Information and broadcasting is to be dismantled and the Publication of Government’s achievements(?) in the media has to be stopped.
If we apply this yardstick, no party should even release the Election manifesto for it would influence the Voters!
3.Opinion Polls are bought.
True,
It is not as though one party can not do this.
Especially the Congress Party!,
If the party allocates even .0001% of the Money they have stolen through various scams, like The 2G,ISRO,Helicopter,CWG, Maharashtra Irrigation,Mining, Thorium, it would be more than sufficient to run Opinion Polls to their advantage!
If anything is to be banned it is the election Manifestos of the parties, for the the most unscientific, outright lies and are made with the intention of cheating.
Story:
BJP slammed Congress for demanding a ban on the mood-tracking exercises ahead of the coming round of assembly polls and in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha election, saying that Congress’s stance militated against right to freedom of expression and reflected its fear of an impending setback.
Parties split over ban demand
The Congress hastily clarified that it had merely responded to a question from the Election Commission (EC), which had sought the opinion of all parties. Political parties themselves seemed to be split over the issue.
While BSP supported a ban on surveys, CPM opposed it but demanded that the findings of surveys should not be released after the election process had started.
AAP, like BJP, said gagging the pollsters would be unconstitutional, but demanded more transparency in the way these exercises are conducted.
The varied response showed the continued misgivings of political parties about efforts to sound out the public mood despite their growing reliance on pollsters: a factor which had resulted in a unanimous demand in 2004 for ban on the publication of findings of polls until the last vote had been cast. ..
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh today slammed the opinion polls that have showed Congress losing the elections, calling it a mockery of democracy. In an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN, he said, “They (opinion polls) should be trashed. I would like to know the scientific process that is employed by the agencies conducting these polls.” He had always opposed opinion polls, he said.
He also said that these surveys, resting on a sample size of a few thousand, are not representative of public opinion. “Are you not opening the doors for criticism? Even the public is criticising opinion polls and pre-poll surveys right now. In a country of over 100 crores, you are only taking in the sample size of about a few thousand,” he added. In a country where news agencies and TV channels are supposed to be sacrosanct you should be careful about what you are showing, he said. Speaking of Yogendra Yadav, he said, “I have had great regard for psephologist Yogendra Yadav. But now he has joined the Aam Aadmi Party and he is claiming from his findings that AAP is forming the government.” However, the fact remains that these opinion polls have showed the Congress performing miserable and therefore thus could be a Congress backlash. However, Digvijaya Singh felt that these surveys could be botched by agencies for money.
PJP, the Principled Jokers Party is seemingly the alternative to the Ruling Party at the Center.
While the ruling party clings on one individuals’ tails in Ultimate surrender as Draupathi to Lord Krishna, the PJP is so Democratic, one does not know who the Leader is.
It is principled, no doubt, but is marred by it’s another Principle of not sure of its own Principles; would trumpet its Principles while in Opposition ,in Power will do exactly the opposite.
Its Economic Policy is the same as that of the ruling party.
It will follow the same economic and social reforms like its principal opposition, but when in power follow what it opposed blatantly.
It is controlled by a principled group outside it, but this group, not familiar with Power Politics will do every thing in its power to ensure that the PJP does not come to power by its ill-timed decisions and backing the Right causes at the wrong time and at the wrong place.
All with good intentions, of course.
The USP of PJP is that while the Opposition fights the election to win, this party will make sure it works over time to defeat a good leader, and in the process lose the election.
Its Party executive Meetings are hilarious and free for all , each slinging mud at another.
The Party always has ‘Think Tank‘ discussions’,never an ordinary Meetings.
The decisions arrived at will generally be attacked more by every one in the Party, than the other parties.

“The rift in BJP was on Monday wide open with L K Advani quitting from all the party posts, apparently opposing the elevation of his one-time protege Gujarat chief ministerNarendra Modi as election campaign committee chief.
85-year-old Advani, a founder member of the BJP and considered the party patriarch after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, resigned from all main fora of the party — parliamentary board, national executive and election committee.
Sachin Tendulkar.
In his resignation letter to party President Rajnath Singh, who announced the appointment of Modi as chairman of the election campaign committee yesterday at the BJP national executive, he rued that the BJP was no longer the “same idealistic party” created by Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Deendayal Upadhyaya, Nanaji Deshmukh and Vajpayee.
“For some time I have been finding it difficult to reconcile either with the current functioning of the party, or the direction in which it is going,” he said.
“Most leaders of ours are now concerned just with their personal agendas,” Advani said in his one-page resignation.
Advani had skipped the three-day deliberations of the party in Goa over the weekend citing health reasons. This was the first time Advani had stayed away from the national executive and the office bearers’ meeting prior to it.
In the letter, Advani said, “All my life I have found working for the Jana Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party a matter of great pride and endless satisfaction for myself”.”
Asked about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s demand that India scale down its diplomatic relations with Pakistan, he said: “We are incensed at this issue. In general, if we are angry with someone and consider them our enemy, we just cannot stop talking to them completely. It is enough if we make them know that we are furious… In the same way, we cannot break off dialogue with Pakistan…”
