  • Scratching, The Pleasures Of.

I am not talking metaphorically as in ‘scratchy knowledge’ or ‘scratchy information’.

I am talking of the simple ‘Scratching‘, the process of using fingernails when you feel like  various parts of your body, of not about scratching others’ literally during you know what!

The Orgiastic pleasure one gets out of it…!

I can not compare this with any thing else.

    Forget the social strictures.

    There are various types.

Scratching the head,Ears,Nose,Groin, palms, legs the list is as endless as there are individuals.

    One’s pleasure is another’s bane.

Good manners teach us not to scratch either in Public or in Private.

    Well who cares!

You suddenly get an urge to scratch your head, especially top of the head just to the right or left of the center of your head.

You have reasonable, .Nails, mind you, it should not be either too long,it would hurt, or too short,it would not do the job properly.

    Preferable the hair be dry.

    High tech Scratching.
    High tech Scratching.

You start scratching with your nails slowly at first ans ever sl……wly increase the tempo.

    Aaaa………hh…. there you have it.

Or on a winter morning, when you have forgotten to apply cream on your legs, you feel like scratching.

Repeat the process as described above.

    Heavenly!

But the marks and at times blood coming out , doesn’t matter.

The worry is for the finicky

As to other types try. you will find it exhilarating.

I do not know about groin scratching for I have not felt like it till date.

    May be some have.

I strictly exclude infection caused scratching, that’s painful.

  • February Black History Month US,Are Blacks Accepted?

February is celebrated as Black History Month in The US to recall and recount the contributions of the Blacks to the development of the nation.

    Black History Month, US
    Black History Month, US

As coincidence would have it I posted an article on ‘Slave Vaults in The Us, yesterday(or early morning to-day , for I post ,at times, at 12 or 1 am).

The US is a Nation consisting of all Races, Ethnic Groups Cultures, an amalgam of Humanity driven by the desire to succeed.

Though the US has done well in terms of integration, the  discrimination towards the Blacks,Hispanics remain, at least at the mental/emotional level.

These Communities somehow for no reason I can fathom, seem to have a high range of Crime rate vis-a-vis the other Communities.

( Is my information correct on this? I write this based on information gleaned from the US people )

Is it because they resent the success of the Caucasian in terms of Economic growth?

Or is it because these communities, specially the Blacks feel that there is still the remnants of racism and discrimination against them, despite having  Non Caucasian President.?

Or is it because they feel that they are being patronized to look good to remain ‘good’  in the eyes of the World?

Have the Blacks been accepted whole heartedly by the US< especially by  the ” White?”

    Story:

The United States is now headed by its first president of African descent. Moreover, blacks are widely represented in government, literature, film, athletics and other arenas. Given this, is it still necessary to set aside a month for the express purpose of celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans? Harvard University ProfessorHenry Louis Gates and writer Raina Kelley have both argued in Newsweek that Black History Month deserves to be celebrated, as it not only connects blacks to the struggles endured by forebears but also addresses the progress still to come in the black community.

    Black History Month, US
    Black History Month

Kelley noted that she understands why people, even African Americans, question the need for Black History Month, but stresses that the month can remain significant by highlighting the challenges facing black America at present.

“Rather than wasting time bemoaning the existence of Black History Month, why don’t we use it to proselytize for the issues that need to be more fully covered and understood the other 337 days of the year-such as failing inner-city public schools, institutionalized poverty, health-care disparities, and job discrimination?” Kelley asks. “Black History Month is a measure of how fully or accurately our story is being told and a reminder of the work yet to be done.”

When President Barack Obama proclaimed February 2010 African American History Month, he echoed some of the sentiments expressed by Kelley and Gates about why such a month should be acknowledged.

How Black History Month came to be?

“Without the efforts of a black historian named Carter G. Woodson, Black History Month may have never come to fruition. Ivy League-educated Woodson created Negro History Week to spotlight the achievements of African Americans. In the early 1900s, history books largely ignored the ways blacks had contributed to American culture. Negro History Week, which morphed into Black History Month in 1976, provided a means to tell the world about the number of accomplishments African Americans have made in the face of persistent oppression—from slavery to Jim Crow to discrimination in the workplace._About.com)

Produced by Mr.Kamal Hassan at a cost of 90 crores, the film is reportedly about terrorists.

Though the film is approved for release in Karnataka, the film has not opened up ,it is learnt at the request of Tamil Nadu Distributors.

Please read the Story line at the Link provided at the end the post.

    Kamal Hassan's Viswaroopam
    Kamal Hassan’s Viswaroopam

    Complaints.

    1.It Hurts Minorities’ ,Read Muslims,Sentiments.

2.Leaders of the Muslim Groups who participated in a panel discussion in Tamil News Channel SUN News advanced very strange reasons.

    a) Leader of the Group who indulges in Violence who speaks Tamil,  is a Foreigner.

So what Kamal meant is he is Tamil speaking Muslim!

b)There is a scene( they say they have not seen the Movie!)a brutal takes place when Koran is recited and Killers call ‘Alalh Ho Akbar’

    c)  In Tamil Nadu we are living with The Hindus as brothers;by seeing this film they will look at us differently.

    d) As it is we unable to  get houses in Tamil Nadu because we are Muslims.

    e) Every producer must show us the story and film as it  is being produced and only after our concurrence the Film must be released!

    f) If the Movie is released, we will not get Brides for our Boys!

    My reply.

    Hurts Minorities.

No body gets hurt when ever a Terrorist Bombs?

All Terrorists are not Muslims but most of them are.

All Muslims are not terrorists, but some are.

In this case, do not judge even before seeing the Movie.

Muslims who have seen the Film, from Kerala and Andhra say there is no substance in these allegations.

2 a)The leader speaks Tamil though A foreigner.

So there are no Tamil Speaking Muslims who bombed in Coimbatore?

You expect a  Foreign terrorist speak in Tamil throughout the movie?

2 b) Murder is committed when some one reads The Koran?

What did the terrorists exhort when they sawed, maimed, shot people?

    Watch YouTube real Videos.

    They did not cry Jihad?

2 c If you are living so amiably with the Hindus in Tamil Nadu, and if they are going to change by watching this Movie, well..this is  some special relationship of Religious Amity!

2 d) We are not getting houses.

    True partly.

This has nothing to do with Mr.Kamal Hassan or Mr.Kamal Hassan.

This is because of the terrorists’ attacks and the apprehension that some would be tenants might belong that Minority of  Muslims  who are rabid fanatics.

2 e ) Our concurrence is needed to produce a Film.

What can one comment on a statement as silly as this!

2 f) Since when Muslims have started taking Brides from the other Communities?

If they mean within their Communities, that only means that they suspect the Bride groom might be a terrorist.

    Some good counters.

    Director  R.K.Selva Mani.

If these groups rallied against Pakistan when it cut the heads of Indian Soldiers in the Border, as they do now, Hindus would have loved Muslims more.

    KRG,Director,Distributor.

‘ We do not call you Minority,You call yourself thus.

If as a Minority you  say you are hurt please understand we still love you l despite  what has happened throughout the world, it is because our patience’

I am no Fan of Mr.Kamal Hassan either.

I like his Histrionic abilities, not his pseudo humility , Pseudo Intellectualism and his habit of swiping at Hindus , especially Brahmins.

Various Muslim organisations demanded a ban on the screening of actor-producer Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam‘, saying “it will affect social harmony” in Chennai.

M H Jawahirullah, MLA and President, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, said representatives of various Muslim organisations met the City Police Commissioner S George demanding that the screening of the movie be banned.

“The screening of the movie will affect social harmony in the state. We plan to meet the Home Secretary, besides moving the Censor Board,” he said.

Jawahirullah replied in the affirmative when asked if they planned to move the court if required.

Muslim organisations had earlier demanded that the film be screened to them prior to its release, expressing concern over the depiction of the community in the movie.

He said Haasan had organised a special screening of the movie for them following their demand.

The thespian had already courted controversy after taking a U-turn on his decision to release the movie on Direct-to-Home (DTH) platform with theatre owners red-flagging his decision.”

  • Mother’s Love Increases Brain Size.Scan Reveals

Any activity performed or  any Stimuli received is reflected in the Brain.

    Be it feelings or thoughts.

Love , we know, has a soothing effect and one who is brought up in an Environment of Love,Care and protection grows into a Normal adult, there are exceptions though.

A recent study revealed that the left part of the Brain  of the child ,which has been exposed and brought up in an environment of Love and affection grows larger than the one which is deprived of Love.

    Age old wisdom never fails.

Brain Scan of Normal and neglected Child.
According to neurologists the sizeable difference between these two brains has one primary cause – the way were treated by their mothers These images are brain scans of a two three-year-old children Brain on the left is considerably larger, has fewer spots and less dark areas, compared to the one on the right

    Scroll down for video.

    Story:

The chilling images reveal that the left brain, which belongs to a normal 3-year-old, is significantly larger and contains fewer spots and dark “fuzzy” areas than the right brain, which belongs to that of a 3-year-old who has suffered extreme neglect.

Neurologists say that the latest images provide more evidence that the way children are treated in their early years is important not only for the child’s emotional development, but also in determining the size of their brains.

Experts say that the sizeable difference in the two brains is primarily caused by the difference in the way each child was treated by their mothers.

While at first glance, the images might indicate that the child with the right brain might have suffered a serious accident or illness, neurologists said that the truth is that the child with the shrunken brain was neglected and abused by its mother, and the child with the larger and more fully developed brain was raised in a loving, supportive home and was looked after by its mother, according to The Sunday Telegraph.

Researchers told the UK newspaper that the image of the brain scan on the right shows that the child lacks some of the most fundamental areas that are present in the image of the brain scan on the left.

They say that the child on the left with the larger brain will be more intelligent and will be more likely to develop the social ability to empathize with others compared to the child on the right.

On the other hand, the child with the smaller brain on the right will be more likely to become addicted to drugs, be involved in violent crimes, be unemployed and dependent on government benefits in the futur

  • Elder Abuse Mistreatment Statistics Story

Elder Abuse is something which is under reported around the World in general and in India in particular.

‘Ageing in the Twenty First Century:A Celebration and A challenge’ a Study by The UN reports.

    Elder Abuse Statistics
    Elder Abuse Statistics

”                                                                                 9 out of Ten in the world are over 60

43% of the people surveyed reported that they fear a personal violence,

    67% Face Age Discrimination

    What are the Abuses?

    Verbal Abuse.

    Being subjected to indifference.

    Loss of Respect.

    Made to work.

    Deprivation of possessions.

    Discrimination in serving Food.

These are apart from physical violence.

The last one , sadly, is inflicted by sons!

The same elders who taught you to speak  become people ‘ who do not now what to Talk’

The ones who taught you to behave ‘do not know how to behave’

The same parents who forced you to read/study are now ‘people who ‘know nothing’

    The Elderly have two choices.

    Stay with their children.

    Stay separately.

In the former, they are subjected to all the harassment listed above.

In the later case, they are dubbed as being selfish and not caring enough to take of the Family especially the Grand children!

In the family, Elders do not know how to take care of the Grand children-the same idiots who brought you up.

If one offers advice one is advised none too politely ‘to shut up’

If remained aloof termed as ‘being irresponsible!’

If this is the case in India, Japan , the  Country which has a Culture of respecting the Elders has decayed to such an extent that a

Minister  publicly says ‘Hurry and die quickly!’

India, the cradle of Family solidity and Values has come down very badly in its treatment of elders.

Home was not a house where people make money, sleep and procreate.

It was a place of harmony, human bonding, emotional cushioning..

Elders have limited option in India.

With all the abuses suffered, they choose to remain in children s’ Homes  for, they love their children,Grand children aand they do not want the ignominy of the famiy lbeing seen as the one which has lost its values.

What can one say to children?

The Seed will also beget seeds to beget Trees.

    Some facts from two studies.

“Indian sons, and their wives, aren’t treating their aged parents well. A study on abuse of India’s elderly, conducted across 20 cities and involving over 5,500 older people, has found that almost 1 in 3 (32%) have faced abuse. The son has been found to be the primary abuser in 56% of cases, followed by the daughter-in-law in 23% cases.

more than 50% of those abused had faced it for more than five years. More than half (55%) of those who were abused did not report it to anyone. Around 80% of them did not report the matter to uphold family honour.

Delhi actually witnessed an exponential increase in abuse of the elderly. In 2011, Delhi’s abuse of the elderly rate stood at 12%. In comparison, 29.82% elderly people in Delhi said they faced abuse in 2012.

The study, conducted by Help Age India, found that abuse was highest in Madhya Pradesh (77.12%) while people in Rajasthan (1.67%) were most well behaved with the elderly in their family. Nearly 30% or 1 in 3 elderly persons reported abuse in Maharashtra while the abuse rate was just above 1 in 4 (27.56%) in Tamil Nadu. It was 60% in Assam, 52% in UP, 43% in Gujarat, 42.86% in Andhra Pradesh and 40.93% in West Bengal.

The study also brought out some shameful figures for Delhi. While nearly 30% of Delhi’s senior citizens had faced abuse, the primary perpetrator of abuse was the son in 60% cases, followed by the daughter-in-law in 24% cases. In Delhi, 76% of those abused did not report it, while of those who felt abused, 69% had felt disrespected with 35% facing it daily.

Around 86% of elderly felt that the most effective measure to control elder abuse was through sensitizing children and strengthening inter-generation bonding and 14% felt increased economic Independence was the solution.

The study said that in India, the family has been the mainstay of social support. “Even in this age and time, 58% of older persons in India are living with the family. The findings of this report also affirm confidence in the ability of the family to care for its older members,” the report said.

    http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-09-29/india/34163184_1_elder-abuse-abuse-rate-older-persons

Discussions with male groups indicated that the middle income group listed
“economic” problems on priority. The second male group from the upper
middle class prioritised “mental health problems” focusing more on lack of
work, lack of facilities for utilisation of leisure time and a general feeling of
loneliness “talking to walls”. The problem here did not seem to be lack of
money but lack of time by the “others” for the older persons
Second to economic problem came ”lack of emotional support” from family
members and both the groups felt that they felt a need to talk to their family
who did not seem to have time for them The Words were many – ranging from
“neglect” from family, “experience of loneliness in everything”, “a sense of
insecurity” and feeling of “burden”, and “Old Age itself was a disease”
A glaring problem faced by the males group was older couple being asked to
live separately when they had more than one child i.e. the older woman to
stay with one child and the man to stay with another – according to the
convenience of their support in whatever housework /outside work they could
    contribute to
Health problems however took a back seat coming in at the third position and
linked with lack of mobility and economic problems
Lack of accommodation was also a “problem” identified by the older persons
who had houses of their own and were not staying in apartments, where there
    is only a specified area.
