In a Study, typical of Science’s arrogance and inability to accept any thing that they can not understand have come out with a statement that Time will come to a stand still one day.
This fallacy is due to the blind acceptance of the Linear Theory of Time.
The Cyclic Theory which has been propounded by Indian Philosophy and indications that it might be the correct interpretations of Time by Quantum Theory(please read my blog Time, a non-linear theory),Scientist refuse to accept this.
Scientists statement is born of the conviction that they will not be around to question them.
Ever had that feeling that there aren’t enough hours in the day?
Well one day, there won’t be any hours in the day, or minutes, or even nano-seconds – because according to scientists, time will eventually, in billions of years, come to a standstill.
The rate at which it’s slowing, though, is imperceptible to humans.
The mind-bending theory, published in the Physical Review D journal, comes courtesy of researchers from the University of the Basque Country and the University of Salamanca, led by Professor Jose Senovilla.
Their theory, according to The Daily Telegraph, is an alternative explanation for observations from astronomers that the universe is expanding at an ever-accelerating rate.
The most widely accepted theory is that an unidentified force called ‘dark energy’ is forcing galaxies apart.
But Professor Senovilla claims dark energy just doesn’t exist.
He reckons that the acceleration is an illusion caused by time slowing down and making everything appear to move apart more and more quickly.
He said: “We do not say that the expansion of the universe itself is an illusion. What we say may be an illusion is the acceleration of this expansion – that is, the possibility that the expansion is, and has been, increasing its rate.”
Eventually, time will simply stop, he argues.
He told New Scientist: “Then everything will be frozen, like a snapshot of one instant, forever. Our planet will be long gone by then.”

The theory goes above my head. But then, it’s definitely possible. What’s one second today can possibly get over in .9 seconds tomorrow or get stretched to 1.1 seconds the day after.
Read my blog Time-a Non linear Theory You will find it interesting and easy to follow.
In a definable manner, the cessation of time is not possible…for it is the desire to define that makes time possible. For the nature of definition is itself limitation. The universe, as you have mentioned in your post, is defined by time…therefore the universe is not limitless..it is in fact an entity created through limitation…and will at one point no longer exist through the cessation of the definable limits…just as one works towards cessation of limitation through the process of meditation, to ultimately reach the final goal of total liberation…the observable universe is not very different from the observable mind….Chaos based on the limitation of time…al least that is my objective observation…thanks for your postings…and reaching out to mine…have a great day
In Indian philosophy,Infinity is a positive concept.
We are unable to perceive Time as we can not perceive as we are conditioned by the limited Mind.
What We, with our limited resources can not understand by the Mind, can feel/realize with our consciousness once we realize the Universal consciousness is pervading our consciousness and that we unable to feel it by the limitations.
Patanjali observes “the cessation of the modification of Chitta and not Chitta) is Yoga” Yogah! Chitta vritti nirodhitaha!!
I subscribe to the view that these concepts, Reality,Time,Space,Perception, God… can realized and not known.
You read the post I wrote about the Theory of Limitation, mindofmatter.com would you be willing to give your thoughts on the ideas put forth in the writing?
