The Ex Minister who is now in jail in Tamil Nadu hails from a Central District in Tamil Nadu, which forms a part of the ‘Granary of Tamil Nadu’.
The name is reminiscent of a great Indian Leader.
Born in a poor family, uneducated, with four brothers of whom three are his Right and Left hands,he started life as a lorry broker on the foot path of a lodge.
Joining DMK, which normally is the refugee of flotsam and jetsam,got in touch with the local boss of the DMK,became his Man Friday,and used to sleep outside his room in the hotel whenever he stayed in Chennai.
He helped the local boss to finish off his rivals and as a token of his gratitude got a seat in the local elections.
He made sure , as he grew up in the party to become a Minister in the Cabinet,that his mentor and his children were sidelined and his lieutenants wiped out, literally and figuratively.
He placed one of his brothers in charge of “illegal settlement outside court’
-‘கட்டப் பஞ்சாயத்து ‘ and another to buy lands at the lowest price by threatening people and started building his empire.
Now he has business interests in many States of India and abroad including Singapore,Malaysia and Indonesia.
He joined hands through his brothers with the mafia in Botswana to mine Diamonds(remember ‘Blood Diamonds‘), and with the money thus earned invested Rs.500 Crores in Bombay film Industry.
When he wanted to recover his investment his brothers were chased out by Chota Ran,The Don of Bombay.
He enters into the picture when some one wants to sell a property, force him to sell it to him at a price he fixes (in fact there are instances when The Sub Registrar asked the Seller and Buyer of any important property to get a No Objection Certificate from him!)
Even now he has confiscated a property in a School area, developed(?) his business to such an extent that it is causing problems for the School.
When the Head of a Famous local Christian Institution refused admission for a candidate recommended by his brother, he is reported to have threatened the Nun of stripping her in Public!
He wanted lands belonging to the Institution for himself and when they refused,and got a Stay Order from the Court and came with officials for evict him, all those including Fathers and Nuns were attacked and wounded with sickles.!
He wanted to buy a famous Silk Saree house and they refused.
He got in touch with the Notorious family in South and they instructed our man to pay Rs.30 Crores as advance for a settlement of 300 Crores.
He paid the 30 Crores to the owner.

The Family asked him to pay the balance 270 Crores to them and have it registered!
He made sure that the lower rungs were thrown crumbs to ensure their loyalty.
He made his distant relative his assistant who is now a Central Minister and it is rumored that he is the one who is flashing information about him to party and the investigating Agencies.
Police even at highest level used to address him with deference.
The lands/properties he purchased thus is so vast it made the Leader of his party to exclaim.How is it you have left the Fort in your city”

More than 2500 complaints
With the change of government, the police are swinging into action and arresting the DMK leaders who grabbed the land. The land is being restored to the rightful owners. So far, more than 2500 complaints have been filed with the police and all these complaints have been filed by the non-political members of the public against DMK leaders.
