Now one can chat on International Calls in Local Call rates, by using a sticker.
This costs $35.
“It’s not hard to spend more on international roaming charges abroad than you did on the ticket there, but cloak your cell’s SIM card with a KnowRoaming sticker ($35) and you could be chatting andSnapchatting your heart out while only shelling out for local service. How? It recognizes when you’ve left your coverage area, and rather than switch to roaming, it seamlessly routes you through a local provider. They, in turn, get compensated for your talk and data usage via a prepaid account (which you manage via a dedicated app). And you won’t be need to use alias digits, either, since calls to your regular number are automatically forwarded.

ANY plane in the air at that exact moment, and display information about that plane, its type, speed, origin, destination, etc. Even private aircraft, and at times, even be in the cockpit observing the instrument panel, or look outside the flight window.
At any given moment, you can actually see in real time, literally every plane in the sky over any area of your choosing anywhere in the world.
Now you can see why an aircraft traffic controller is one very, very busy person.
The information will tell you who is flying the plane, and where they are going.
In the left hand column, there is a box called “planes.” The number in the box is the number of aircraft airborne. This view is what the traffic management people see for planning purposes at the various airports.
What type of plane, airbus A320,330,350, where it originated, and where is it going, what altitude, what speed, what company etc.
A few things you can do;
You can drag the map to change the area you want to view, then zoom in by tapping with your mouse.
On the map you will see all the planes in the air.
Click on an plane, and on the left screen you will get the flight information, airline, type, speed, altitude in real time, re-calculated every 10 seconds.
On some flights you can also click on the ‘view from the cockpit’…
Though I do not much use for the Mobile/Cell Phone, I do have one(in fact three!)
All of them passed on to me by my son and daughter, after they have used it for, say , a couple of months or at the most a year)
They buy high-end smart phones, with lot of Applications.
I saw a recent ad for a Mobile Applications, saying that the Mobile hand set has more than 1200 Applications!
Even if you try three applications a day, it would take you three and a half years to try all the Applications.
The recent scam by these two are quite novel.
In the case of Smart Phones,(costs anywhere between 20, 000 to 35, 000 for a middle end set), the handset develops some problem, like the screen going blank, After repeated charge, the charge goes out, the hand set hangs, you can not make calls….ad infinitum.
If you take the Mobile to the Manufacturer’s Service Center, you are informed that a small problem has occurred in a part, it takes baout 15 working days to get it rectified.
If you are dumb enough to give the set to them, you would be informed after a month that there is no stock of the required part and it was expected any day.
In the process you waste about 3 months,
Later they inform you that the model is outdated and a New Model has arrived and you may get the new Mobile at a discounted rate on an Exchange Offer!
You end up with another highly Glitzy and outrageously priced Mobile.
You can do nothing, even in a Consumer Court because of the carefully worded Warranty Causes.
Well, if you want to change the Clause, you won’t get the product.
The new marketplace currently represents more than 1,200 services and tools for mobile devices running Android and Apple iOS. There are 25 different categories including productivity suites, communications, finance and accounting, collaboration, operations management and project management.
We are aware the excessive use of Mobile/Cell Phones and iPads.
Stingy people like me go in for prepaid plans to ensure we are aware of our expenses.
But a Boy of Five years ran up a Bill of 1710 Pound Sterling in a matter of Ten minutes, using his iPad!
Pity the father!
Story:
Apple iPad Application for Kids.
Danny Kitchen had asked for the passcode for the device so that he could download a game, Zombie v Ninja, from the Apple store.
Greg and Sharon Kitchen eventually agreed and left their son alone with the tablet computer as they entertained friends at their home in Warmley, near Bristol.
But after downloading the free app Danny found his way into the game’s online store and innocently ordered dozens of costly add-ons – totalling £1,710.43.
His mother knew nothing about his spending spree until she saw a batch of emails from iTunes the following day listing what he had bought.
Her credit card company then phoned to query the payments – and Mrs Kitchen, 44, realised what had happened.
Fortunately, it’s possible to turn off in-app purchases. Here’s how to do it.
Google Android
Open the Google Play Store app and choose ‘Menu’ and then ‘Settings’. Under ‘User Controls’ you’ll find an option to ‘Set or Change PIN‘. Tap this and Android will ask you for a PIN. Type your chosen PIN, tap OK and then re-enter the PIN to confirm. Then tick the box next to ‘Use PIN for purchases’.
Once you’ve done that, anyone who wants to make an in-app purchase on your device will need to know the PIN. That should keep your bills secure from little fingers.
Apple iOS
The Restrictions menu in Apple iOS lets you control all kinds of things. You can send a password for in-app purchases or turn them off altogether. It’s possible to prevent apps being deleted or installed and control access to age-restricted content.
To prevent in-app purchases in iOS, open ‘Settings’ then choose ‘General’ and ‘Restrictions’. Then tap ‘Enable Restrictions’, choose a PIN and enter it a second time to confirm. Now you can set any restrictions from the menu below. In the ‘Allowed Content’ menu, slide ‘In app purchases’ to ‘Off’.
Amazon Kindle Fire
The Kindle Fire is an Android-powered tablet but the operating system has been modified by Amazon so the process for restricting in-app purchases is a little different. Start by opening the Amazon Appstore app. Choose ‘Menu’ and then ‘Settings’. Then tap ‘Parental Controls’, choose ‘Enable Parental Controls’ and enter your Amazon password. If you’d prefer to choose a PIN, then tick the ‘Use PIN’ box.
