  • Blackhole Singularity Describes Brahman Of Hinduism

Hinduism speaks of The Brahman, as different from Brahma the Creator,as the Ultimate Reality.

It is described as Being, Consciousness and Bliss, Sat, Chit and Ananda.

    Black hole Singularity.

    Listen to this article below.

It is beyond Space and Time,

    Is a Principle,

    It devolves into Multi Universes,

It is beyond Events and is Uncaused,

It is among the Events and ye beyond them,

It can not be seen or perceived by the senses or the Mind,

It is Hidden from Space and Time,

It is, however seen and perceived as objects of te senses and the perceiver while in its form as the Universe,

These events are Illusory and at the same time are Real, the latter when it is a part of the Reality as Brahman and in the case of the former it is seen as different from the Reality,

That is the world of Names and Forms are illusory at the Realized  Plane, that is from the view-point of Brahman , yet they are Real in the world when they ae in the Time Space bound world of ours.

The Brahman is One, Not Two(Advaita) a Singularity which one can not comprehend.

    Time is Non Linear.

    It is Cyclic.

    It recoils on itself.

There is no beginning or end for Time.

Space is another entity which can be transcended by Time and vice versa.

One can engage in interstellar Travel and on return to earth would find the Earth years different.

When Rama’s ancestor Mandhata went to meet Brahma for 20 minutes(One Nazhigai) and returned he found the Time on Eart as changed.(Visnu Purana)

Time can be stilled.( Pleased read my post)

Space and Time are the impediments to Realization of Brahman.

    Non Sense?

Now let us see what Modern Physics says of this concept.

    Time runs backwards,

    It recoils.

Ina Blackole, all events appaer to be at a Standstill, toug it is not.

There is a Singularity ina Blackhole which one can not perceive.

In the centre of a black hole is a gravitational singularity, a one-dimensional point which contains infinite mass in an infinitely small space, where gravity become infinite and space-time curves infinitely, and where the laws of physics as we know them cease to operate. As the eminent American physicist Kip Thorne describes it, it is “the point where all laws of physics break down”.

Current theory suggests that, as an object falls into a black hole and approaches the singularity at the centre, it will become stretched out or “spaghettified” due to the increasing differential in gravitational attraction on different parts of it, before presumably losing dimensionality completely and disappearing irrevocably into thesingularity. An observer watching from a safe distance outside, though, would have a different view of the event. According torelativity theory, they would see the object moving slower and slower as it approaches the black holeuntil it comes to a complete halt at the event horizon, never actually falling into the black hole.

The existence of a singularity is often taken as proof that the theory of general relativity has broken down, which is perhaps not unexpected as it occurs in conditions where quantum effects should become important. It is conceivable that some future combined theory of quantum gravity (such as current research into superstrings) may be able to describe black holeswithout the need for singularities, but such a theory is still many years away.

According to the “cosmic censorship” hypothesis, a black hole‘s singularity remains hidden behind its event horizon, in that it is always surrounded by an area which does not allowlight to escape, and therefore cannot be directly observed. The only exception the hypothesis allows (known as a “naked”singularity) is the initial Big Bang itself.

It seems likely, then, that, by its very nature, we will never be able to fully describe or even understand the singularity at the centre of a black hole. Although an observer can send signals into a black hole, nothing inside the black hole can ever communicate with anything outside it, so its secrets would seem to be safe forever’

  • Marrried Men Women Are Brahmacharis

The term Brahmacharya means, ‘going after Brahman’ ,The Reality.

This has two connotations in practice.

One is engaging oneself in the pursuit of Reality.

Lord Hanuman Sitting .Image Lord Hanuman In Sitting Posture.

The other is the virtue of practicing celibacy.

Let us study the Etymology of the word.

The word brahmacharya stems from two Sanskrit roots:

    1. Brahma (ब्रह्म, shortened from Brahman), means “the one self-existent Spirit, the Absolute Reality, Universal Self, Personal God, the sacred knowledge”.
    2. charya (चर्य), which means “occupation with, engaging, proceeding , behaviour, conduct, to follow, going after”..This is often translated as activity, mode of behaviour, a “virtuous” way of life.

So the word Brahmacharya literally means a lifestyle adopted to seek and understand Brahman – the Ultimate Reality.

In historic literature of Hinduism, it means “devoting oneself to Brahman”.

In modern literature, it is commonly translated to mean celibacy for those unmarried, and fidelity to one’s partner when married.

In ancient and medieval era Indian texts, the term brahmacharya is a concept with more complex meaning. Brahmacharya embodies in its meaning an overall lifestyle that helps the pursuit of sacred knowledge and spiritual liberation. It is a means, not an end, and usually includes cleanliness, ahimsa, simple living, studies, meditation, voluntary restraints on certain diet, intoxicants and behaviors (including sexual behavior)’

So, one interpretation, which is basic, is that Brahmacharya means making efforts to Realize Brahman, The Reality.

Brahman can be realized, according to scriptures, with the help of a Preceptor, Guru..

Though the Smritis  /Sruthi declare that Brahmacharya begins with Upanayana, at an early age with the Upanayana, which is recommended at ages between 5 , 7, and 9,people were aware that the quest for Brahman might arise in an individual at a later date, say at the age 25, 30, 40 or even 50.

In such cases  by following of the enquiry into the nature of Brahman, one becomes a Brahmachari, a Student.

He could be a married man or woman.

Being married or unmarried , man or woman is no hindrance in pursuing the Reality Brahaman.

We have many Grahasthas, married people as great Rishis, Vasishta,Krupar,Kashyapa, Agastya, Gargi , Maitreyi.

Therefore these great souls, though married are students, Brahmacharis, as they pursued Brahama Gnana.

Hence a Married man is also a Brahmachari in this sense.

Brahmacharya indicates a Stage of life,  that of study.

    The four Asramas are

    Brahmacharya,

    Gruhastha,

    Vanaprastha and Sanyasa.

These relate to the dispositions and the actions being contemplated upon by the individual, while Celibacy is a part of Sadhana marga which expedites spiritual journey.

    Coming to Celibacy,

Celibacy is essential in preserving the Semen from falling to the ground or flowing down as this hinders the spiritual growth,

    It is called Urthvarethas,

Meaning that the semen flows upwards through the Chakras in the body to reach the Sahasrara in the head,

This Celibacy is called Naishtika Brahmacharrya.(not allowing the semen to flow down)

    Bhishma is a Naishtika Brahmachari.

He is the only Naishtika Brahmachari, apart from Hanuman.

This is  the reason, why Devavrataha, was  called Bhishma, one who does the Impossible.

In the case of the Grahasthas, so long as their object of physical interaction is to produce progeny without Lust, they are also rated high in the scheme of things.

    King Janaka is one such.

Therefore a married one can also be called a Brahmachari, provided he/ she is after the enquiry into the Nature of Brahman.

  • Soul Immortal Body Dies Why Sraddha Pinda?

A reader posed an interesting question, which I am reproducing below.

‘a SMALL DOUBT sOUL IS NOT PERISHABLE. THERE IS REBIRTH AFTER DEATH. THEN WHY THESE SHARDHAMS AND PINDAS FOR THE EXISTING ONES. CURIOSITY OF VEDIC REFERENCES. WE ARE MOULD OF FLESH AND BONES AND WE HAVE NO REACH ON IMMORTALITY. CAN YOU DISCUSS. THANKS’

I remember having written on this , in the passing, while on another article.

As the issues involved are complex and many have the same doubt, I would like to clarify.

True, the Atman is Imperishable, Immortal , timeless

The Vedas and the Upanishads stress this point and the entire Indian Philosophy revolves on this concept of Atman

    The Bhagavad Gita states thus.

Bhagavad Gita Verse Chapter 2.Sloka 20. on the Nature of Atman.

Bhagavad Gita Verse on the Nature of Atman.jpg Bhagavad Gita Verse on the Nature of Atman, Self .Chap.2,Sloka20

The body is the instrument through which the fruits of actions, the Karmaphalas are worn out.

Body , being made of the five elements, earth, water, fire, air and ether returns to the respective elements after death.

All things done or being done during the course of one’s life are directed towards this body, excepting the urge to realize Brahman, the Reality.

Once the body dies a Hindu performs Sraddha , ceremonies for the dead by offering food .

This concept of offering to  the departed is present in all Religions.

    Names might differ.

If the body is perishable and the Soul is Immortal , what is the point in performing these rituals, like Tharpana, offering Pindas, and Sraddha?

Though the body ceases to exist, the remnants of actions performed, Desired do not cease even after death.

The thoughts remain as energy once created can not be destroyed and Thoughts and Thought processes are Energy.

    They have to be expended.

Till such time the Subtle body remains.

The Subtle Body is called as Sukshma Sareera.

The Sukshma sareera exists even after death and is nourished by  the essenceFood, Water.

This is applicable in both Stages, Life and afer Death

The physical frame is sustained by the essence of Food(Anna Rasa) and so is the suskshma sareera.

This is one of the reasons for some foods contributing to unidentified anxiety, despondence, fear etc.

Also Food determines one’s disposition .

For more on this Googe Food ramanan50.

Now after the Physical frame ceases ,the Sukshma Sareera needs nourishment.

And this is what we do by performing Sraddha and offering food to the departed,

    Now to the question.

    The dead are reborn.

They have taken a new body and they eat.

Would this not be enough to nourish the Physical body and the sukshma Sareera?

    No.

The remnants of the earlier birth’s needs are not wholly met in the current birth.

The bonds one had established during the earlier birth still linger and those are met only by the offerings from the people with whom we had bonded in the earlier birth.

This non compliance of the Sraddha results in Pitru Dosha.

Pitru Dosha does not merely indicate the anguish of the ancestors but also the needs of the Sukshma Sareera of the earlier birth( which forms a pat of the Sukshma Sareera of theis birth).

When such needs have not been met, one faces unaccountable problems.

These do not apply to realized souls or Brahma Gnanis.

  • Bhrigu From Greece Greek Priests in Rig Veda?

When people talk of the spread of Sanatana Dharma one is struck by the fact that the Sanatana Dharma was present throughout the world.

Please read my posts on each Country, Civilization  and its Link to Hinduism Sanatna Dharma.Sanskrit/Tamil.

Shiva and Dionysus.jpg. Shiva and Dionysus.

And when one reads the origins of the European and other counties in all the continents we have now, we find that people seem to have just come there from Asia, which incidentally coincides with the great Flood reported in India then called Bharatavarsha and mingled with the people already present there..

In that case where had these  people who had been residing there, from?

After all one should have either been in one place or have come from somewhere.

( In this sense, all of us are immigrants from somewhere!)

This is anomaly I have faced when I research into Human migration and read it along with the Sanatana Dharma.

The only plausible is explanation is that the land mass was different in ancient times and there was one huge landmass which was peopled by one group.

Please read my Post on Shiva Uma Marriage.

This group, based on the available evidence is the people from India then called Bharatavarsha.

The entire landmass was following Sanatana Dharma and there were frequent interactions and occasional  migration from one part of the landmass from another.

This is the only explanation for the presence of all notable figures of the other Cultures(other than Sanatana Dharma) being found in Hindu texts, ranging from The Vedas, Puranas, Ithihasas and Tamil.

In one form or the other, names from the history of India are found in these cultures and references and names from those cultures in India.

Not merely names, archeological sites, language. Customs and culture buttress this view.

Kindly read my posts on these.

One more connection of Sanatana  to Greece has been found in the relationship of Dionysus and Shiva.

Dionysus may be Shiva Himself because He migrated to the West during the great flood while Vaivaswataha Manu, ancestor of Lord Rama moved to Ayodhya.

Dionysus is found in the Atharva Veda.

Bhrigu and others are also found in Greece.

by the pre-historic times the devotees Dionysus’s  used to travel to India since it was a pilgrimage for them. The  priesthood genes got developed into various tribes. So there are the Bhrigu (Bhryges), the Avanti (Avantes), the Kurus (Kuris), the Panchas(Panchaioi) theKoshas (Koes), the Sindhu (Sindu). They originate from different parts of Greece’

The Kurus and the Panchas originate from Crete and might be the oldest ones. The Avanti from Evoia. A part of them joined with A part of Kuris and created the priesthood Korivantes, who ruled Asia Minor. Bhriges, Koshas and Sindu were from Thrace, an area that covered this time all North Greece. A part of Bhriges moved to Anatolia and a part of Sindu to south cost of black sea. Bhrigu in ancient Greek means “to burn” and it is referred to the sacrificial ritual. Sindu in Thracian dialect means river. So is it possible the oldest name of Indus river deriving from them? Even nowadays in North Greece there is the municipality of Sindos. Most of the western researchers either don’t understand or they don’t want to accept the common roots of those cultures. But as I heard in Harvard they teach that the Sanskrit Soma has common etymological root with Greek saima that means originally the holly blood of the sacrificed God. Saimon was a holy mountain of Dionysus in Thrace, meaning blood..

Vassiliki States that  the Greek priests moved to Indus valley in prehistoric times (Before Rig Veda). Their names are found in Vedic texts and in ancient Greek Mythology

There is another possibility. In Rig Veda 7,18,16, it is written that half of humanity ignores Indra, that means that half of humanity the time of Rig Veda was worshiping Indra. Indra means the “Archetypal man“, existing in Ancient Greek as Andra or Andreus with the same meaning. It was epithet of Dionysus and ofDias. Andrineia was a Dionysus’s festival. Some ancient Greek text (been in Batican) says that there were eight Dionysi in ancient times. One of them was the God (non incarnated) and the others were sages. In between them there was an Indian one, who was supposed to be the oldest. In this case, we can make the hypothesis that this cult was given as a revelation to many parts of the earth, carrying a common theological language. But even if the Indian Dionysus originates from Greece, obviously he selected Indus valley as his pilgrimage because it had already a spiritual background.

Soma means blood and it was the red sweet wine, they were drinking in his sacraments. A traditional kind of wine in Eastern islands of Greece is called Souma and derives from the ancient sacraments. In prehistoric Greek blood is called saima. In ancient Sanskrit Soma is existing also as sauma and souma. It symbolizes the blood of the sacrificed Dionysus or Purusha (Grk: Proseios= rising sun).

My observation is that the was no Greece as we know it to-day but it was ( as all the other countries)a part of Sanatana Dharma.

  • Why Many Gods In Hinduism

I often encounter questions on Sanatana Dharma, called Hinduism, as to why there are many Gods in it and one is confused by this.

Also  while the other Religions talk of Only One God, why is it that Hinduism talks of many Gods?

I have been receiving a lot of queries on this and I am quoting one.

    Vishnu as kaala Purusha.jpg
    Lord Vishnu as Kaala Purusha

“Usually, we all say God is one but in Hindu Dharma we have Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva for Creation, Preservation and Destroy. Why it is so? Why other religion is praying and naming one God. Can you please explain”

As to other Religions , Christianity, Islam, they talk of God in an Impersonal way.

Christianity talks of God as The Father and there are no descriptions or attributes except the generalities like All merciful and one who would condone your sins if you repent your sins through His Agent, Jesus Christ.

Hinduism does not believe in Agents nor does it absolve you from the results of your actions, simply because you repent.

One has to face the consequences of his actions, this includes the Avatars of Gods as well.

Godhood is a Principle, Impersonal and Laws doe not distinguish between people.

    In Islam the same generalities.

God is One who lays down the Rules,he punishes you if you do not follow Islam!.

    Hinduism is different.

It knows Religion is an experience and it can not be dictated by Logic alone, even if the Logic is impeccable.

The Truth, according to Hinduism, is One.

It is called Brahman, The Reality.( This is different from Brahma , the Creator).

This Brahman is without Attributes, it is a Principle , just as Gravity is.

But it is difficult to know it through the Mind.

Just as we can not know Gravity, we think we know Gravity, but what we really know is because of the feeling of Gravity.

The scientific explanation is only an expression born out  of the feelings of Gravity.

Imagine that we do not feel Gravity.

Would we have tried to form  a Theory on Gravity?

So even if the Reality is an abstract principle,it has to be made understandable to be of use to us.

Hence even though the Reality Brahman is the Truth,Hinduism devised ways to reach/realize it.

The Truth, The Brahman, the Reality is Knowable, to Be Known.

    That is the Truth.

This knowledge about Brahman is called ‘Apara Vidya'( beyond this world of names and forms)

The knowledge about Brahman and its attributes are called Apara Vidya.

The general descriptions of Brahman  are Sat, the State of Being, Chit(Consciousness) and Ananda(Bliss)

Apart from this, the Upanishads,a part of The Vedas, the scriptures of Hindus, try to explain the qualities of Brahman by excluding the attributes normally known to us stating that the Brahman is Beyond all this and also this.

For example the Upanishads, describe Brahman as,

‘Neither Tall nor Short, nor of medium height,

    Neither Male, Female,nor transgender ,

Neither the Knower nor the Known,

Yet It is All of These’

You would find this is difficult to comprehend even at the intellectual level.

Knowledge, if it can not be understood or used is useless.

    Therefore Hinduism devised a way.

If we have to Know, it must be easy for us to follow.

The instrument to know is the Mind.

The instrument to feel is the Heart.

For those who want to have a glimpse , Hinduism provides  Gnana Yoga and Raja Yoga.

Raja Yoga is the path of Yoga being practiced by many.

Here one prepares the mind to understand Reality.

Gnana Yoga prepares one to discern the Reality by developing Vairaagya, the discerning capacity to distinguish between practical knowledge,Para Vidya and the Apara Vidya.

    There are two more methods.

Bhakti yoga, the path of Loving God.

The other one is karma Yoga, the Path of Action.

For loving God, one needs an object to concentrate for the Mind , to enable the Heart to feel it.

So Gods have been named In Hinduism.

It is difficult for the Humans to empathize with qualities which are not known to them.

The emotional connect is strong in the case relationships.

Father, Mother, Children, Wife, Children and relatives.

And if one attributes Reality/God with the qualities of Humans , it is easy for the Humans to understand.

So the Gods of Hinduism are attributed with Human qualities.

    Then why many Gods?

Some love Mother, some Father, some Lover, some friends, some a master.

God, in Hinduism, is portrayed with all these qualities.

This makes it easy for Humans to relate to God than being asked to relate to an Impersonal God.

Once people start this step, over a period time, they will be able to feel the Impersonal God and the concept of god with Attributes withers away.

This first step is like LKG, while understanding, feeling Reality is like Phd..

After reaching Phd, the LKG would seem to be of no use.

But without that one could not have reached Phd.

At another level, there are principles that represent the Physical world.

Thus we have Brahma who represents the Potential energy, Vishnu, the Kinetic energy, and Shiva, the Potentio-Kinetic Energy.

Similarly all the Gods present the Principles of Nature as well.

Yet the fact that the Gods Rama ,Krishna, Shiva , Subrahmanya existed, as proved by Historical and astronomical Data, there is an unexplored area.

In short, Hinduism talks of not only Monotheism but Monism as The Truth but devised a way to understand them by Gods with attributes..

Kindly read my post Gods Hinduism, with name and form, Yes and No.

Another point is that even thought Gods with Names and Forms are only a tool to understand Brahman, these Gods, when prayed deliver results, as Lord Krishna explains in the Bhagavad Gita.

‘What ever Form you worship, I deliver you the results in the form you worship”

( This is not a literal translation)
