Contrary to what is believed, it is Women who chase Men, as A Study, based on nearly two-billion cellphone calls and close to 500-million Texts, reveals.
Stands true to Biology.
While the Male‘s job is to donate(?) Sperm and to ensure the well-being of the Offspring, it is th Female who carries the sperm in the womb and ensures the growth and spread of the Species.
Even this ‘ensuring the well-being of the Offspring’ seems to be limited to Mankind, for in the Animal Kingdom it is the Female who does this job, look a the Lions,Elephants,Chimps.
Another interesting fact is that in the Animal Kingdom it is the Male which spruces itself and appeals to female while in Man, the Female goes to Beauty Parlour.
Time more Men went to Beauty Parlours?

After examining nearly two-billion cellphone calls and close to 500-million texts, researchers said they determined that women are more focused on relationships with the opposite sex than men are during their reproductive years, indicating that women are more invested in creating romantic ties.
As women age, however, their grown-up daughters become the people they most frequently contact, replacing their spouses as their “best friends.”
“What seems to happen is that women push the ‘old man’ out to become their second best friend, and he gets called much less often and all her attention is focused on her daughters just at the point at which you are likely to see grandchildren arriving,” Prof. Dunbar said.
BBC reports that men’s phone contact with their spouses also declined over time. Men called and texted their spouse most frequently during the first seven years of their relationship, then shifted their attention to other friends. (Of course, one could arguably interpret this another way: If you’re spending a lot of time with your spouse, you’re probably not contacting them via mobile phone.)
The researchers, who had access to the age and sex of the mobile phone users, said they based their findings on the assumption that mobile-phone communication reflects the most important relationships in people’s lives and the level of closeness of those relationships.
For your action , every one else is responsible, not you!
Now recent Research has found that your behaviour of ‘being nice’ is determined by Hormones like Oxytocin.
Why do they affect the individual this way?
None knows for sure.
However it is proved that you behave the way you do, because you can not help it.
Srrimad Bhagavad Gita, a Sacred text of the Hindus explains it thus.
During the Discourse of The Bhagavad Gita ,Lord Krishna is interrupted by Arjuna thus.
‘You say all problems arising out of Birth and Death are due to actions performed, for actions yield results, Good /Bad.
Some actions produce agreeable results and some not so agreeable.
Good actions lead to Realization of God/Reality .
Bad actions lead to Birth.
Based on this a man is born and goes through the Cycle of Births and Deaths.
This Cycle is because I act.
Were I not to Act/perform actions , I will not attract Sin.
When I perform No Action, no results-period.
No Birth, No pain, No Death.
Lord Krishna advises him with a smile.
‘Do you think that there is any thing I need any thing in this world or in the other worlds,
Or is there anything that I do not have?
Yet I Perform my Duties.
A man can never remain doing nothing.
Even attempting to shut down every thing, you breathe, you think.
All these are actions.
None can be totally relieved of Actions, voluntary or other wise.
Once born , he is controlled by Three dispositions-Gunas.
They force you to act.
Sathva,Wise and Contented.
Rajas, Active and aggressive.
Tamas , inert and ignorant.
These three interact constantly at all times in one’s Life.
Therefore to think of ‘doing nothing’ is an Illusion and definitely not possible.
One behaves the way one does, because he can not help it.
But this can be channelized and regulated.
*This is The Message of Lord Krishna.
All our actions are predetermined.
Now to the Story on hand.

The study found human kindness is not just evoked by good examples set by parents. In fact, some people are born with generous genes that incline them towards niceness. Previous studies have linked the hormones oxytocin and vasopressin to the way people treat each other, especially in close relationships. Scientists already know oxytocin promotes maternal behaviour, with people exposed to the hormone in lab experiments demonstrating greater sociability.. Researchers at the University of Buffalo and the University of California in the United States wanted to apply these previous findings to a larger scale to see if these chemicals promote other forms of nice behaviour, such as giving money to charity.
The “nice” hormones work by binding people’s cells through receptors. Certain genes determine how receptive people are to these hormones. As part of the study, participants were asked questions about their attitudes toward civic duty, such as whether people have a moral duty to report a crime, other people and whether the world is generally a good or bad place, and about their charitable activities, like giving blood or going to PTA meetings. Of those surveyed, 711 people provided a sample of saliva for DNA analysis, that showed what form they had of the oxytocin and vasopressin receptors. Results, published in the journal Psychological Science, showed people have “nice” versions of the genes, which when combined with the subjects’ views on the world, make them more likely to help others. Professor Michel Poulin, of the University of Buffalo, said: “The study found that these genes combined with people’s perceptions of the world as a more or less threatening place to predict generosity. “Specifically, study participants who found the world threatening were less likely to help others – unless they had versions of the receptor genes that are generally associated with niceness. “These ‘nicer’ versions of the genes allow you to overcome feelings of the world being threatening and help other people in spite of those fears. “The fact that the genes predicted behaviour only in combination with people’s experiences and feelings about the world isn’t surprising because most connections between DNA and social behavior are complex. “So if one of your neighbours seems really generous, caring, civic-minded kind of person, while another seems more selfish, tight-fisted and not as interested in pitching in, their DNA may help explain why one of them is nicer than the other. “We aren’t saying we’ve found the niceness gene, but we have found a gene that makes a contribution. What I find so interesting is the fact that it only makes a contribution in the presence of certain feelings people have about the world around them.”
If Darwin’s theory is correct why is it that Gorillas/Apes have not ceased to exist, as only the fittest survive and they have evolved into Human Beings?
Gorillas/Apes are closer to Man-who is to be more ashamed-Man or the Animals?seeing the behaviour of man, one tends to ask.
“The complete sequence of 20,962 genes — extracted from the skin cells of Kamilah, a 34-year-old gorilla who lives at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park — was compiled by an international team of more than 60 researchers who worked on the project for about five years.
Gorilla sitting like a man.
“The gorilla genome is important because gorillas are our second-closest living relatives,” said Richard Durbin, senior author of a paper about the discovery published Wednesday in the journal Nature.
By comparing the new gorilla DNA sequence with reference genomes of humans, chimpanzees, orangutans and macaques, scientists have already made a few surprising insights into the crucial periods when we diverged into separate species.
For instance, the new genetic data bolster fossil evidence that gorillas split off as a separate species about 10 million years ago and that humans and chimps parted ways about 6 million years ago. Previous genetic evidence had seemed to point to a more recent split, prompting a contentious debate betweengenetics experts and fossil scholars, said Durbin, who leads the genome informatics group at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Hinxton, England.
” In decoding the DNA of a western lowland gorilla, scientists made a discovery that may surprise you: Humans and gorillas differ in just 1.75% of their DNA, making our genomes more similar than previously thought. That percentage actually drops to 1.37% when compared to chimpanzees, our closest living relatives—but 15% of the time, gorilla DNA is actually more like human DNA than chimp DNA is, the Los Angeles Times reports. That “tells us that there are individual genes for which, if you want to find the closest sequence to humans, you won’t necessarily look at chimpanzees. In a few cases, you’ll look at gorillas,” says a geneticist.”
This is not the first time the Pachiyappa College students engaged in vandalism.
What I narrate here happened in 1967/8-68/69, when I was a student of Vivekananda CollegeChennai and happened to be the College Union Secretary.
Economic Department of the Madras University conducted an event at the Madras University premises and students of all colleges were attending the function.( I did not attend the function)
We, at our college received information that a student of our College(Vivekananda ) was stabbed by a student of the Pachiyappa College and we decided to take action on the following day by convening the Student Council.
The next day the The Indian Express published a news item under the heading ‘Rowdyism mar University function’.
On reading the headline , the students of Pachayappa College went on a procession through Mount Road and late Annadurai(who was a student of Pachiyappa College), who was at the Murasoli office at the time of the Day, came out and openly declared that the ‘Pachayappa College’ students should not behave like the rowdies of other colleges’, -calling the best behaved students of Vivekananda College as rowdies-one should note that the CM did not have any information as to what has happened and the fact Annadurai and Co were against the Vivekananda College as it was run(in his view) by Aryan Brahmins!
Enthused by his stupid and provocative remarks, the Pachayappa Students went on a rampage against our college and the Indian Express for a couple of Days.
We had to call in the Madras Students College Union and enlisted the support of all colleges, except Thyagaraya College, which aligned with Pachayappa’s, and it took another couple of days for Annadurai to depute his Minister Late.V.R Neduncheziyan to our college and he complicated the issues by stating in Vivekananda College Assembly by declaring that he will never step into our College as the college was not worthy of him and the enraged Students booed him and he had to be escorted out.
Later Annadurai, through the Pachayappa College ,Shanmugasundaram ,I recall, and Ra.Janarthanan who was student leader of the Pachiyappa College(he was a DMK stooge and he is no more), expressed his regrets and that was that.
If one were to check the History of Student violence in Chennai ,one would invariably find Pachayappa Students involved in one way or another.
After all, this college is the home ground of disciplined DMK Leaders.
I envisage a stream of hate mail and a list of the luminaries from Pachayappa College, but they shall fail to note that the luminaries were prior to DMK junk.
A great Institution is being sullied by the goons of DMK.
Will Pachayappa’s authorities restore their old glory by throwing out these flotsams and jetsams?
“At least 30 police personnel, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police, and ten others were injured when a ‘Bus Day’ celebration turned violent in front of the Pachaiyappa’s College here on Wednesday, police said.
According to police sources, about 100 students took a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus from Broadway to their college as part of their ‘Bus Day’ celebration around noon on Wednesday. A large posse of police personnel escorted them. On reaching the college premises, the students allegedly threw stones. Traffic was disrupted on EVR Salai following the incident.
“We exercised restraint and persuaded the students to disperse. They continued to throw stones indiscriminately…Six members of the public were also injured. Police used mild force to chase the unruly students into the campus,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kilpauk) S. Lakshmi said.
Four students were also hospitalised. “Police entered the campus without obtaining the permission of the management,” a professor of Pachaiyappa’s College said.
The incident took place a couple of days after the Madras High Court wanted to know why police were not taking action against unruly celebrations in the name of ‘Bus Day’. Explaining why police used force, Commissioner of Police T. Rajendran said the students kept on throwing stones on the police and public. “Public life and property was endangered. The Inspector of Police (Kilpauk) E. Rajeswari suffered a head injury…we had no other option but to chase the students. One MTC bus and two motorcycles were damaged in stone throwing,” he told The Hindu.”
“The police crackdown on the so-called ‘bus day’ celebrations will continue, and all police personnel have been instructed to strictly implement the court-imposed ban on the menace in letter and spirit, the city police have told the Madras high court.
A counter-affidavit, filed by Chennai police commissioner J K Tripathy in response to a batch of public interest petitions against the recent ‘bus day’ violence in the city, said chargesheet against 14 persons, including 12 Pachaiyappa’s College students, will be filed shortly.
“The investigation is mostly complete. The final report will be filed in due course. The police risked their lives, rescued the general public, especially women and children, and made all efforts to bring the situation under control,” Tripathy said, referring to the February 9 rampage by Pachaiyappa’s College students. ”
* the information can be verified by checking the archives of Indian Express.
It is worth noting that in the very nest year of this incident Pachiyappa College students were involved in the attack on the Madras City Transport buses and the Conductors and drivers retaliated in kind and this issue became a serious law and Order issue.
