There have been quite a few murderous attacks on People and magazines that publish the image/cartoon of Prophet Muhammad of Islam.
Is thee any injunction in Islam to this effect?
There seems tobe no mention of this subject in the Koran.
It seems that the Sunnis are responsible for this.
*Corrections welcome.

“Most Sunni Muslims believe that visual depictions of all the prophets of Islam should be prohibited[3] and are particularly averse to visual representations of Muhammad.[4] The key concern is that the use of images can encourage idolatry.[5] In Shia Islam, however, images of Muhammad are quite common nowadays, even though Shia scholars historically were against such depictions.[4][6] Still, many Muslims who take a stricter view of the supplemental traditions will sometimes challenge any depiction of Muhammad, including those created and published by non-Muslims
Thre are some Hadiths to this effect.

The terrorist group that is wreaking havoc in Iraq has claimed the second largest Oil Refinery of Iraq, near Baji.
The Group is more deadly than Al-Qaeda.

“The recently seized city of Mosul lies in northern Iraq, and there are reports that ISIS is also moving south towards Kirkuk.
After the intial break with al-Qaeda’s central authority, which was eventuallyformalized in January of this year, ISIS quickly accumulated power. As Liz Slyreports in her excellent profile of the group for the Washington Post, the group’s rapid rise was in no small part due to their ability to recruit thousands of militant volunteers who had flocked to Syria in recent months.
Sly also notes that the ascendant ISIS began to hold a unique position within Syria, establishing itself not only as a group that fought against government forces but one that established control over its seized territory. In the areas under its control, ISIS carried out a number of atrocities, imposing radical Islamic laws and sometimessharing the evidence of their brutalizing on social media.
Reportedly commanding thousands of fighters and freed of al-Qaeda’s bureaucracy, ISIS has seemingly set its sights on controlling cities in Iraq. In January of this year the group’s militants assaulted the city of Fallujah and seized its government buildings. Despite a government offensive to retake that city, ISIS remains essentially in control.
Now the fighters have seized Mosul in a massive assault that has already caused over hundreds of thousands to flee their homes, and will likely result in more insecurity for a country that saw over 800 killed in May alone.”

General Najim al-Jabouri, a former mayor of Tel Afar, which is a little more than 31 miles from Mosul, told The Daily Beast the bases seized by ISIS this week would provide the group with even more heavy weapons than they currently control. “The Iraqi army left helicopters, humvees, cargo planes and other heavy machine guns, along with body armor and uniforms,” the general, who is now a scholar at the National Defense University, said. He said he was able to learn about the equipment from soldiers and other politicians in and around Mosul with whom he keeps in touch.
General Najim is not alone in this assessment. Jack Keane, a retired four-star Army general who was a key adviser to General David Petraeus during the counter-insurgency campaign in Iraq in 2007 and 2008 known as the surge, said ISIS has now established itself as a formidable military force.
“This organization has grown into a military organization that is no longer conducting terrorist activities exclusively but is conducting conventional military operations,” he said. “They are attacking Iraqi military positions with company- and battalion-size formations. And in the face of that the Iraqi security forces have not been able to stand up to it.”
ISIS Robs 500 Million Dinars from Central Bank.
The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shams (Isis) has become the richest terror group ever after looting 500 billion Iraqi dinars – the equivalent of $429m (£256m) – from Mosul’s central bank, according to the regional governor.
Nineveh governor Atheel al-Nujaifi confirmed Kurdish televison reports that Isis militants had stolen millions from numerous banks across Mosul. A large quantity of gold bullion is also believed to have been stolen.
Following the siege of the country’s second city, the bounty collected by the group has left it richer than al-Qaeda itself and as wealthy as small nations such as Tonga, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands and the Falkland Islands.
“Al-Libi, who had been wanted by the U.S. for more than a decade for his alleged role in the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, was spirited from his Delta Force captors eventually to a Navy ship in the Mediterranean where he was believed to be questioned by the U.S. government’s High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group.
Al-Libi was then brought to New York to face terrorism-related charges. He has pleaded not guilty. Al-Libi’s attorney, Bernard Kleinman, told The Washington Post his client never swore allegiance to al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and was not involved in the embassy attacks.
The former special operations soldier who spoke to ABC News, who has been on similar “snatch” missions, said that the October operation was likely carried out by an eight- to ten-man team. Another source with knowledge of the operation said the men were disguised to appear like locals.
Al Qaeda has long been a monolith, though operating as a Multinational Corporate.
It had a Central Command and the structures though cut off directly from the directly, had a strict Unitary structure.
No longer.
Al Qaeda Cells
The Syrian Branch or the Franchisee of the Al Qaeda brushed aside the instruction from to stay away by Ayman al-Zawahri, the leader of Al Qaeda
”
It was the first time in the history of the world’s most notorious terrorist organization that one of the affiliates had publicly broken with the international leadership, and the news sent shock waves through the online forums where jihadists meet. In no uncertain terms, ISIS had gone rogue.
That split, in June, was a watershed moment in the vast decentralization of Al Qaeda and its ideology since 9/11. As the power of the central leadership created by Osama bin Laden has declined, the vanguard of violent jihad has been taken up by an array of groups in a dozen countries across Africa and the Middle East, attacking Western interests in Algeria and Libya, training bombers in Yemen, seizing territory in Syria and Iraq, and gunning down shoppers in Kenya.
What links these groups, experts say, is no longer a centralized organization but a loose ideology that any group can appropriate and apply as it sees fit while gaining the mystique of a recognized brand name. In short, Al Qaeda today is less a corporation than a vision driving a diverse spread of militant groups.
“Al Qaeda is kind of a ready-made kit now,” said William McCants, a scholar of militant Islam at the Brookings Institution. “It is a portable ideology that is entirely fleshed out, with its own symbols and ways of mobilizing people and money to the cause. In many ways, you don’t have to join the actual organization anymore to get those benefits.”
For policy makers and terrorism analysts, this has made it harder to define what it means to be “Al Qaeda” and to gauge and combat threats. In addition, disagreements over definitions of Al Qaeda have animated debates in Washington about the perpetrators of the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, especially over the Benghazi militant group Ansar al-Shariah. Although intelligence agencies and the State Department do not consider the group an affiliate of Al Qaeda, some Republican critics of President Obama argue that its puritanical, anti-Western vision makes it one.”
The US has made it tough for Al Qaeda Central command to function effectively after Osama Bin Laden’s Death.
Armed with Data from Osama’s hardD rive, the Al Qaeda Cells have been immobilized.
To operate effectively, a minimum autonomy was needed.
When that was granted, the Franchisees began to assert themselves.
This causes even more serious concern as it would be difficult to identify the Groups which operate under Al Qaeda and becomes very tough in handling Terrorist threats.
Now this is being witnessed in the world, with Al Qaeda targeting the Christians.
Christian nations are reacting.
Unfortunately , others who are not concerned with this affair.
Islam seems determined to overtake Christianity in Population.
With their Religion asking them to increase population, Islam will overtake Christianity.
Whether it is going to be fundamental Islam or moderate Islam(which I doubt), one has to wait.
Here is a report.
“The number of Muslims in Europe has grown from 29.6 million in 1990 to 44.1 million in 2010.34 Europe’s Muslim population is projected to exceed 58 million by 2030. Muslims today account for about 6% of Europe’s total population, up from 4.1% in 1990. By 2030, Muslims are expected to make up 8% of Europe’s population. Although Europe’s Muslim population is growing, Europe’s share of the global Muslim population will remain quite small. Less than 3% of the world’s Muslims are expected to be living in Europe in 2030, about the same portion as in 2010 (2.7%).”
“Islam religion and hence Muslim population began around 640 AD and now there are 1,300,000,000 Muslims in this world. This is a historical growth rate of 1.51% per year. The world population now is 6,137,000,000 and the current growth rate of the world population is 1.30% per year (Source: PRB 2001 World Population Data Sheet). At these growth rates, mathematically, it will take 410 years for Muslim population to be 50% of the world population.
