Officials were quick to insist there would be no link to the town’s most famous former resident but the project will be seen as an effort to rebuild the region’s image.

Pakistan has tried to forget how bin Laden was found in Abbottabad, where he had been hiding in plain sight inside a high-walled villa for five years.
While security experts assumed he was roaming the remote, lawless tribal belt along the border with Afghanistan, he was actually living with three wives barely 30 miles from the capital Islamabad.
The hunt for the world’s most wanted man came to an end on May 2, 2011, when a team of Navy Seals killed the al-Qaeda leader.
His presence was deeply embarrassing for security agencies who were accused of either incompetence or of helping hide him.
His three-storey hideout has since been torn down to prevent it becoming a shrine for extremists. Its bricks were sold or given away for new homes.
Plans for the new park were unveiled on Monday by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which said the site would take eight years to develop.

The Navy SEAL who claims he shot and killed Osama bin Laden in the famous raid which captured America’s most wanted terrorist has spoken for the first time about the moment he shot the al Qaeda three times in the head and watched him take his last breath.
The Team Six member – who is referred to as ‘The Shooter’ for the safety of his family – described in unforgettable detail the days leading up to the kill, the moment he shot bin Laden three times and the fallout from the raid.
Once they were given their mission, the woman at the CIA – made famous by Jessica Chastain‘s portrayal in Zero Dark Thirty – told the team bin Laden was ‘100 per cent on the third floor’ of his compound in Abbottabad in Pakistan.
‘We got him,’ she told us. ‘This is him. This is my life’s work. I’m positive.’
In an interview to appear in the March edition of Esquire magazine, The Shooter describes for the first time in unforgettable detail the tense and life-changing two minutes that changed the course of history.

Once he locked eyes on his target, he remembers being surprised at his appearance. Bin Laden was much taller than he expected him to be – taller than any of their guys, and skinny with a short beard and shaved head.
He was holding his wife Amal in front of him as a shield and though The Shooter could see exactly what was going on through night vision goggles, bin Laden was in total darkness and could hear but not see.
‘And he’s moving forward. I don’t know if she’s got a vest and she’s being pushed to martyr them both,’ he recalls. ‘He’s got a gun within reach. He’s a threat. I need to get a head shot so he won’t have a chance to clack himself off [blow himself up].
‘He was dead. Not moving. His tongue was out. I watched him take his last breaths, just a reflex breath.
‘And I remember as I watched him breathe out the last part of air, I thought: Is this the best thing I’ve ever done, or the worst thing I’ve ever done?’
‘In that second, I shot him, two times in the forehead. Bap! Bap! The second time as he’s going down. He crumpled onto the floor in front of his bed and I hit him again, Bap! Same place.
‘That time I used my EOTech red-dot holo sight. He was dead. Not moving. His tongue was out. I watched him take his last breaths, just a reflex breath.
‘And I remember as I watched him breathe out the last part of air, I thought: Is this the best thing I’ve ever done, or the worst thing I’ve ever done? This is real and that’s him. Holy sh**.

‘His forehead was gruesome. It was split open in the shape of a V. I could see his brains spilling out over his face. The American public doesn’t want to know what that looks like.’
The Shooter, a father-of-two, then describes the moments after the shooting and how the al Qaeda leader’s wife Amal launched herself at him screaming.
After zip tying her to the bed, he then realized bin Laden’s youngest son, who was about two or three years old at the time, had also witnessed his father being shot.
‘He was standing there on the other side of the bed. I didn’t want to hurt him, because I’m not a savage. There was a lot of screaming, he was crying, just in shock.
‘I didn’t like that he was scared. I picked him up and put him next to his mother.’
He said the third-floor action lasted for about 15 seconds. Afterwards, he remembered that he had a bottle of urine in his pocket the whole time, after having to relieve himself on the helicopter ride on the way in.

There is a report that some intolerant Hindu Out fits filed a case against Viswaroopam for offending Hindus , especially the Brahmin Community.
Mr.Kamal Hassan, please, please do not ever remove the offending scenes to assuage the feelings of the Hindus nor ‘restore’ Hinduism as you have done for your Islamic brothers’.
Spare us and Hinduism the ignominy of being restored by YOU.

“I would like to thank the chief minister and the home secretary for facilitating the talks,” said Kamal Haasan, who arrived from Mumbai this morning after his film’s Friday release in theatres in the north. “We discussed many scenes with our Muslim brothers and finally both parties agreed to delete some sound clips from the film,” said Kamal, adding, “We will withdraw our writ petition (in the Madras high court) and hope that the court will lift the ban soon. The release date of the movie will be announced very shortly.” He said the altered film would be sent to the Censor Board of Film Certification for approval.
With state home secretary R Rajagopal playing mediator, the actor and 15 representatives of the Tamil Nadu Federation of Muslim Organizations sat around the negotiating table at the state secretariat and talked for nearly four hours before thrashing out a compromise. The talks began at 3pm and went on until 7pm, when the group emerged to announce a happy ending to the controversy. Reacting strongly to Kamal agreeing to the demands of Muslim leaders, filmmaker K Hariharan said, “It is absurd according to me. Kamal did this under pressure. He can’t do anything about it.”

Viswanath(Kamal) is dance instructor in NewYork city and he is married to Nirupama(Pooja Kumar), she is nuclear oncologist by proffession. Their marriage doesn’t run fruitfull, so she hires a private detective to spy on Kamal, to find out any flaws about him which might help her to get divorse. This private detective finds out that Kamal is muslim, which shocks Nirupama. Is Kamal muslim or hindu? what happens to the marriage of Kamal there after? has to be seen on silverscreen.
Kamal has done multishade character in this flick with ease and simplicity. Different getups used on him for characters looked apt . His classical dance steps with natural expressions and action sequence performed by him are good. (apherald.com)

The movie starts in America. Viswanath (Kamal Hassan), who will be seen as Kathak trainer, is surrounded by girls and one among them is Andrea Jeremiah. This makes Dr Nirupama (Pooja Kumar) to doubt on her hubby’s character and hires a detective, who gets killed by Al-Qaeda group. The Al-Qaeda is planning to plant a Nuclear Bomb in New York and Kamal Hassan is well-aware of it. How? He has a past where he has a connection with the terrorist group, which is headed by Omar (Rahul Bose). Will the terrorist organisation succeed in their mission? What role does Kamal play? Is he a terrorist or an undercover agent? To know all these, you should watch the film. The story of the film begins on a slow note but it is gripping. The first half is entirely shot in the US, and keeps you engaged and generate a lot of curiosity. When it comes to second half, the narration is dragging at parts but gets interesting with Kamal Hassan’s past getting revealed
has a wonderful story. It is well-backed by technical aspects like action and cinematography. It has to be noted that only one song will be part of the film even though the album of the film has a couple of tracks. Kamal ends on the note that Viswaroopam will continue until Omar or he is killed.
Of all technical aspects, Sanu Varghese’s cinematography stands tall, as he has done a brilliant job. He has wonderfully captured some of the rarest locales of Afghanistan. Shankar Ehsaan Loy’s two songs are good and background score is excellent. Especially, it is a treat to watch the Jet Fighter scenes on Auro 3D sound format. However, Mahesh Narayanan’s editing would have been better had he reduced the length of the film.
