Qutub Minar Built on Hindu Temple, Archeological Survey of India 1871 Report

I had published articles on Mughals contribution to India .

    • List of temples destroyed by Islam in India.
    • Vishnu’s Feet in Humayun’s Tomb.
    • How , in Malabar, Brahmins were massacred by Tipu Sultan and how they were forced to eat meat and converted to Islam.
    • Massacre of Brahmins of Mandya, Karnataka,India on Depavali and they do not celebrate Depavali,an important festival of Hindus.
    • How Somnath was ransacked 18 Times by Ghazni Mohammad to recover Mannath.
    • How Taj Mahal was built on a Siva temple.
    • List of temples converted into mosques.
    • Darga Ajmeer Sharief was Hindu temple.
    • How 12 ,000 Brahmins were killed in Srirangam,Tamil Nadu, India and the Idol of Vishnu had to be carted away secretly to Madurai.
    • Tipu Sultan’ s order to his troops to kill Hindus.
    • Aurangazeb’ s vow to kill Hindus.

I had written earlier about the Qutub Minar being a Hindu temple and Emperor Vikramaditya erected his Vijaya Sthamba there. I am providing more evidence to support my view.

1871-72 report prepared by the ASI states that the mosque on the Qutub Minar campus was constructed over Hindu temples

Report was prepared by JD Beglar and ACL Carlleyle in 1871-72 under the supervision of Sir Alexander Cunningham, the founding head of the Archaeological Survey of India. The report states that a mosque was built on the site of a temple. This is because the foundation of the mosque is very old and it shows that previously there was a temple here.

ASI’s ex-regional director Dharamveer Sharma claimed that the Qutub Minar was constructed by Hindu emperor Raja Vikramaditya and not by Qutb al-Din Aibak, to study the direction of the sun. He also said the ancient iron pillar at the complex used to be known as ‘Garuda pillar’ and appears to be from the 5th century. Idols of Hindu deities like Vishnu and Lakshmi made of black stone were found in Mehrauli and are now kept in the National Museum, the former ASI director said, adding that they seem to date back to the 1st century.

The following are some important takeaways from the 1871-72 report:

    1. The pillars are reinstalled in their original locations in the colonnade of a single Hindu temple. Their current height is the same as the original Hindu colonnade.
    2. The terrace on which the mosque currently sits was formerly an untouched Hindu temple platform.
    3. The mosque’s exterior and inner walls are reminiscent of Hindu design; the corner dome is similarly reminiscent of Hindu architecture.
    4. Even if Muslims built the Qutub Minar, its foundations were laid long after the walls of the temple (the current mosque).
    5. The pillar is known as the ‘Arm of Vishnu’. Beglar claims that Hindus own the pillar and that it was built by Prithviraj to allow his daughter to see the Ganges.
    6. The surrounding walls are sculpted with several Vaishnav sculptures, including avatars of deities and Lord Narayan lying in the folds of the serpent, Anantha.
    7. The outer south gate, foundations, and craftsmanship of those superstructures are consistent with the remainder of the Hindu walls.
    8. The inner south gate and the blocks of the sunken pillars are likewise Hindu.
    9. Muslims purposefully covered the Hindu-styled double-cornice with benches of their own design and adjusted the outer enclosure’s floor level.
    10. The masjid’s cloister floor and iron pillar were preserved, but the courtyard’s original Hindu-styled floor was covered up to conceal remains of Hindu temples and inscriptions that may have been there.
    11. Excavation of the inner south gate revealed solely Muslim additions and changes.
    12. Two black slate images of Lakshmi, as well as several archaic clay lamps, were discovered in the trenches.

  • Santana Dharma and Russia Part 1

Santana Dharma and Russia Part 1

Santana Dharma, also known as Hinduism, is one of the oldest and most widely practiced religions in the world. It has spread to various parts of the globe, and Russia is no exception. In this post, we will be discussing the influence of Santana Dharma in Russia and the history of its evolution.

The roots of Santana Dharma in Russia can be traced back to the 18th century when the Russian Empire expanded towards the south and started to interact with Indian traders and travelers. During this time, the Russian elite showed a keen interest in Indian Vedas, religious texts written in Sanskrit, and started to learn about the religion.

One of the earliest known Russian scholars of Hinduism was Nikolay Ivanovich Ilminsky, who published several works on Hindu mythology and philosophy in the mid-19th century. He was also one of the first to introduce Indian philosophy to Russian intellectuals, laying the foundation for the spread of Santana Dharma in Russia.

Later, in the early 20th century, the Theosophical Society, a religious and philosophical organization founded in the United States, gained popularity in Russia. It promoted the study of Indian spiritual practices and beliefs, and helped to spread knowledge of Santana Dharma throughout the country. The Society played an important role in the development of Hinduism in Russia and influenced many Russian intellectuals and writers.

Today, Hinduism is a rapidly growing religion in Russia, with over 140 official Hindu organizations and more than 150 temples across the country. Many Russians have adopted Hindu practices, and it has become an important part of their daily lives.

In conclusion, the influence of Santana Dharma in Russia can be traced back over two centuries, and its growth continues to be visible in society today. It has a rich history of evolution in Russia and is becoming an increasingly significant religious and cultural force. Stay tuned for part two of this series for a deeper exploration into the influence of Santana Dharma on Russia.

I have written quite a few articles about the presence of Sanatana Dharma,in ancient times,in Russia.

I discussed about the precision of Vedic science, specifically the identification of the land of Staraya Maina and the exact latitude and longitude where the sun-god descends. The discovery of an idol confirms this site in Russia, which is connected to the ancient and holy land of the 722 flying vehicles mentioned in the Rig Veda ; the connection between Russian orthodox Christianity and Vishnu worship, and noted that the Russian language has roots in Sanskrit dating back 50,000 years to the Smritzyi archaeological site along the now-dried Vernstokhlin river system.

    Kali in Russia?

“The report says that the area in which the idol was found is called Staraya Maina. In the Rig Veda, there is a passage that goes, Itham ascati pasyat syantham, ekam starayath mainaa-kaalam. This translates into Staraya Maina is the name of the land of the 45 rivers (on whose banks the noble Rishis conducted the famous Horse Sacrifices), where the sun-god descends into one fifty-two forty-seven. While the first line identifies a site, the second line talks about the exact latitude and longitude at which the solar spectrum produces interference lines at one, fifty-two, and forty-seven. The extreme precision of the calculations show the advanced science of the Vedic period, and a thorough knowledge of SI units (it has been conclusively proven that French scientists stole the system from the Indians. The discovery of the idol confirms the site in Russia, identified in the Rig Veda as rus soviath sapthamahanagaratham (the ancient and holy land of the 722 flying vehicles). The ancient connections between the Russians and the Indians has been unequivocally confirmed. In Russian orthodox Christianity, worship is conducted very much like in Vishnu temples. The Russians refer to the feast of Vizhnyir Ekoratsya Vikhunh, directly corresponding with Vaikhunda Ekhadasi. The Russian language also owes a lot to Sanskrit, whose origins 50,000 years ago roughly correspond with the language of the people of the Smritzyi archaeological site, along the banks of the now-dried up Vernstokhlin (Varnasatyakhalini) river system.# Link for the source provided towards the end of the article.

‘You are probably referring to Slavic-Aryan Vedas. East Slavs were the main ancestors of the Russians.

Slavic-Aryan Vedas (Славяно-Арийские Веды) – purportedly ancient texts that allegedly were passed down generation to generation in Siberia. There were nine books, dictated by the Slavic god Perun to our forefathers in 38,004 BC (or about 40,009 years ago). To date, only the first book of the Vedas is translated into Russian and published – “Santii Vedas of Perun” (Book of Knowledge and Wisdom of Perun).

Sanskrit and Russian are two most strikingly similar languages of Indo-European language family. We know that during some period of history, the speakers of the two languages lived close together and many parallels can be drawn in culture and religion aspects. Resemblances are endless and historian opinions on who influenced whom are split.

  • Why Mantras Are Not Effective, Breathe Mantras

Why Mantras Are Not Effective, Breathe Mantras

I receive queries from readers that Mantras are not providing the results as expected. There are also people who say that even though they believe that mantras, Japa would deliver results, they are yet to see people Realizing Brahman,Reality or Seeing God, as Saint Thiagaraja had seen Sri Rama after doing Rama Nama Japa for one crore times,(Ten Million).

True.If only the number of times a mantra is chanted is the criterion, then those who have completed the stipulated numbers ,should have obtained the results they sought. But it is not so.

If you chant Gayatri mantra, which is the highest mantra, about a crore times, then you should become a Gnani or at least one with Siddhis.Chanting Ten million times is possible in a short time,as 1008 Gayatris can be chanted in about two to three hours, depending on the individual.

So, why mantras do not produce results?

It is not merely chanting the Mantras in the mind as Japa, without lips moving, that is Mantra Chanting.

Mantras are sounds. We make sounds with our Mouth and Nose, propelled by our Energy, which Rises from Mooladhara. The Sounds are common to all being from Akasa; Air we use to make sounds is also common to All.

What is different is your Energy and the way the sound is raised and the Sound is to be ‘ Breathed’ .When you do this, you shall feel your body vibrating.

When you chant or even speak, you will find your Breath changes because we use our nose too in speaking and the raising of sound from mouth also affects the flow of Breath.

If you observe the flow of breath while you chant the Beeja, it will be exhalation .If you chant Kleem, it will be Inhalation.

Beeja mantras are not mantras per se. They are the Seeds for the Vruksha called Mantra. One sound is Called Pinda, two sounds Karthri, three to Nine Beejaksharas.

More to follow on Mantra chanting,Beejaksharas.

  • Female Beeja Mantra Beejaksharas Part 1

Female Beeja Mantra Beejaksharas Part 1

I have written a couple of articles on Mantras ,Mantra an Overview,Mantra side effects,Why many Mantras for the same problem in addition to Mantras for specific problems.

Mantra is sound which can not be transcribed.

The sounds are to be heard.

However Sanskrit Language has them in written form.

As these sounds are mystically locked, they are to be intoned correctly.

    Mantras are of three genders.

    Male, Female and Neuter.

    Beeja Mantras

Devi represents the feminine force. There are two beejas that represent Stri sakti – “ee” and “aa”. But more so, “ee”. Some of the names of Devi like Vamakshi refer directly to “ee” beeja. That is why Sri Suktam praises the mother as “eem”, apart from “sreem”. Sri Sukta is a part of RigVeda Khila, and not the core samhita. And unlike Samhita we can see the Mantra sastra and beejas being directly mentioned.

As Saktas take pride in saying, “i” in “Siva” is said to be Devi, without who the Lord is a corpse. This follows directly from the beeja for Sakti being “ee”. This is also why Vaishnavas take pride in saying that worshiping Vishnu is equal to worshiping Devi and Siva together: Hara + “i” = Hari. However, both Hara, Hari seem to be derived from the Bhuvaneswari beeja “Hreem”.

Bhuvaneswari is the primal model of Sakta, with Vedic origin. She is the Aditi of Veda, the Mother of Aditya loka. This is also how She is a sibling of Vishnu/Aditya. Bhuvaneswari is the Mother and ruler of all the worlds. But by Bhuvaneswari beeja one means the one that corresponds to Aditya loka.

“Hreem” beeja can be found in the earliest of Vedic literature. Purusha Sukta of Rig Veda says “Hreesca te Lakshmeesca patnyau” – “hreem” and Lakshmi (sreem) are the wives of Purusha. Hreem is also called lajja beeja.

    Shall write in detail.

Though there are general Mantra for prosperity, welfare, issue specific Mantras are to be decided based on the individual’s disposition, Swabhava analysed critically.

And this can be done by a Guru who would initiate and sets down procedures for chanting.

And  Guru shall reach out to you if you are a passionate Seeker.

He shall not demand anything from you and will accept what you offer.

You need to offer to the Guru what you can for nothing should be accepted free  it binds you in Karma.

Here I list some Beeja Mantras for academic information.

I shall be writing on the Beeja Mantras hidden in Mantras and Slokas including the Soundrylahari and Lalitha ahranma

Some beeja Mantras, however, may be chanted without  guru but taking Subrahmanya/Shiva/Krishna as Guru.

devata (divinity) in different forms. An uttered Mantra is the manifestation of a more subtle sound while Mantras themselves are forms of Kundalini. Mantras may be male, female or neutral. Female Mantras are called Vidyas.

By Mantra the sought-for (Sadhya) Devata appears, and by Siddhi therein has vision of the three worlds. As the Mantra is in fact Devata, by practice thereof this is known. Not merely do the rhythmical vibrations of its sound regulate the unsteady vibrations of the sheaths of the worshipper, but therefrom the image of the Devata appears.” (op cit) Mantras are masculine (solar), feminine (lunar) or neuter. A female Mantra is called a vidya, which means knowledge, while solar and neuter forms are called Mantras. Mantras are only such if they were first revealed by a rishi or seer. Only then do they have life, according to the tradition. A Mantra can only work if it is received from a guru who has, herself or himself, received it in an unbroken line from its first rishi. There are, however, exceptions to this, according to some tantras which prescribe methods of purification for Mantras received in dream. And, according to Mahachinachara, the Kali Mantra does not rely on the very elaborate rules usually found in the Tantras…

    Some Beeja Mantras and Devathas.
    Some Beeja Mantras.

In describing Mantras, the different tantrik texts always give their origin or rishi as well as the metre to pronounce them. While a Mantra is divinity in sound form, a yantra is the same in geometrical form and an image the devata in gross form’
