“காபா என்ற சொல் தமிழிலிருந்தும், கபாலீஸ்வரன் என்ற சொல்லிலிருந்தும் தோன்றியிருக்கலாம். தமிழ் உலகின் பழமையான மொழிகளில் ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. சிந்து சமவெளி நாகரிகத்திலிருந்து – திராவிடர்கள் சிவபெருமானை தங்கள் முதன்மை தெய்வமாக வழிபட்டனர். தென்னிந்தியாவில் உள்ள சிவன் கோயில்கள் கபாலீஸ்வரர் கோயில் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன. எனவே, கபாலி – சிவபெருமானைக் குறிக்கும்.
இஸ்லாத்தில் இந்து மதத்துடன் தொடர்புடையதாகத் தோன்றும் வேறு பல சொற்கள் உள்ளன. எடுத்துக்காட்டாக, சமஸ்கிருதத்தில் அல்லாஹ், அக்கா மற்றும் அம்பா ஆகியவை இணைச்சொற்கள். அவை ஒரு தெய்வம் அல்லது தாயைக் குறிக்கின்றன. பக்ரி ஈத் (ஈத்) என்ற இஸ்லாமிய நடைமுறை கோ-(எம்)ஏத் மற்றும் அஸ்வ-(எம்)ஏத் யாகங்கள் அல்லது வேத காலத்தின் யாகங்களில் இருந்து பெறப்பட்டது. சமஸ்கிருதத்தில் ஈத் என்றால் வழிபாடு என்று பொருள். வழிபாட்டு நாட்களைக் குறிக்கும் பண்டிகை நாட்களுக்கான ஈத் என்ற இஸ்லாமிய வார்த்தை, எனவே ஒரு தூய சமஸ்கிருத வார்த்தையாகும். [குறிப்பு: பக்ரி என்ற சொல் ஒரு ஆட்டைக் குறிக்கும் இந்திய மொழிச் சொல். பக்ரீத் பண்டிகையின் போது ஆடுகளை பலியிடுவர் முஸ்லிம்கள்]
ஈத் என்றால் வழிபாடு என்றும், க்ரஹா என்றால் ‘வீடு’ என்றும் பொருள்படுவதால், இத்கா என்ற இஸ்லாமிய வார்த்தை ‘வழிபாட்டு இல்லம்’ என்பதைக் குறிக்கிறது, இது இந்த வார்த்தையின் சரியான சமஸ்கிருத அர்த்தமாகும். இதேபோல் ‘நமஸ்’ என்ற சொல் இரண்டு சமஸ்கிருத வேர்களான ‘நாமா’ மற்றும் ‘யக்ஞா’ (நமா ,யாக்ஞா) ஆகியவற்றிலிருந்து பெறப்பட்டது.
ஒரு நாளைக்கு ஐந்து முறை நமஸ்காரம் (இந்தியில் நாமஸ்மரணம்) பாராயணம் செய்வது, தினசரி வேத நெறியின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருப்பது பஞ்சமஹாயக்ஞம் (ஐந்து தினசரி வழிபாடு- பஞ்ச-மகா-யக்ஞம்) . நமாஸ் வழிபாடு இந்த வேத நெறியை ஒத்திருக்கிறது.
ஆண்டின் நான்கு மாதங்கள் இஸ்லாமிய வழக்கத்தில் மிகவும் புனிதமானதாகக் கருதப்படுகின்றன. பக்தியுள்ளவர்கள் அக்காலகட்டத்தில் கொள்ளையடிப்பதிலிருந்தும் பிற தீய செயல்களிலிருந்தும் விலகி இருக்குமாறு கட்டளையிடப்படுகிறார்கள். இது சாதுர் மாதத்தில் ,அதாவது இந்து பாரம்பரியத்தில் சிறப்பு விரதங்கள் மற்றும் தவங்கள் இந்நான்கு மாத காலத்தில் கடைப்பிடிக்கப்படுகின்றன.. ஷபிபாரத் என்பது சிவ விரதம் மற்றும் சிவ ரத்ரத்தின் சிதைந்த வடிவமாகும்.
‘ஈத்-உல்-ஃபித்ர்’ என்ற இஸ்லாமிய சொல் சமஸ்கிருத பாரம்பரியத்தில் முன்னோர்களின் வழிபாட்டுத் திட்டமான ‘ஈத் ஆஃப் பிதர்ஸ்’ என்பதிலிருந்து பெறப்பட்டது. இந்தியாவில், இந்துக்கள் தங்கள் மூதாதையர்களை பித்ரு-பக்ஷாவின் போது நினைவு கூருகிறார்கள், இது அவர்களின் நினைவிற்காக ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட பதினைந்து வாரமாகும். ‘ஈத்-உல்-ஃபித்ர்’ (முன்னோர்களின் வழிபாடு) என்பதன் முக்கியத்துவமும் இதுவே.
