  • Veda Verses On Electricity Power Generation

    I am searching the Vedic Texts for Modern Concepts of Physics and sharing them.

     

    I have posted articles on Atomic Theory,Quantum Physics, The Velocity of Light,Gravity, Architecture, Microbiological,Advanced Surgery including

     

     

    Plastic Surgery,Atomic Weapons,Advanced Concepts concerning Multi verses, Theory that goes beyond Quantum Mechanics,Aviation,Spaceships,

    Here I am sharing the verses from the Vedas on Electricity with out my comments, for the verses are self-explanatory.

     

    I shall be posting an article on the generation of Electricity based on The Purusha Sukta, with the Photo of the prototype.

     

     

    (Rig. 1.32.13). To begin with, there is the description electricity which forms in the clouds in the form of lightning.

    Though it has tremendous power, it does not interfere with the solar power.

    However, Lord Indra can vanquish Vritra with the help of lightning.

    �(Rig. 1.23.12). We get electricity which emits blinding light, which we use for all kinds of tasks.

    �(Rig. 1.6.5). This Mantra describes generation of electricity with the help of machines run on wind power.

    Electricity can be easily produced where winds are strong. (Rig. 1.64.9)

    This Mantra instructs about use of electricity in aeroplanes.

    It also describes land vehicles driven with electrical power.

    �(Rig. 8.64.29).

    Many kinds of jobs are performed with the help of electricity, using attraction, retraction, vaporization, freezing, air circulation, as well as generation of new substances

    �(Rig. 1.168.8).

    When rains pour down on the earth from clouds, water in rivers gets agitated. Generation of electricity with the help of this agitated water brings smiles all around, meaning that the earth gets lighted up with lights run on electricity. God, you are great! What extraordinary knowledge you have provided in the Veds!.

    �(Rig. 3.1.14). Intelligent people combine life and soul.

    Similarly, electricity and fire are combined on the earth, and this knowledge is worth attaining for getting our wishes fulfilled. (Rig. 5.52.6).

    Wise and learned persons should attain enlightenment of knowledge about electricity etc, just as the armed forces bring lights into the life of people by protecting the nation.

    �(Rig. 5.54.11). This Mantra describes the equipment soldiers should carry.

    They must have sufficient arms, food, high quality airplanes, glinting armors to guard their bodies, helmets to protect their heads, powerful electrical rays that can destroy the enemy planes

    . This clearly means that there is a description of power electrical beams of waves or rays to be used by armed forces in the Veds.

    �(Rig. 5.86.3). This Mantra advices kings and emperors that just as the sun uses its powerful rays to destroy clouds and causes rains on the earth which brings happiness to the people, the kings and emperors too should use the power of electricity to destroy enemies and bring happiness to their subjects.

    �(Rig. 5.87.10). This Mantra describes that we can clearly listen to our speech elsewhere, with the help of vibration of electrical waves.

    Verse 2: Nav Yo Navati Puro bibhed bahvotjasaa
    Ahi Cha vritrahaavadheet

    Electricity , which breaks, by the energy of its arms the 99 cities, destroys the cloud, which covers the rays of the sun, the source of all energy and power.

    This initial description describes the inherent properties of of electrical energy. Here the “arms of electricity” refers to positive and negative currents. The 99 cities refers to the 99 elements, as known to modern day scientists. In Vedic terminology, these essential elements were known as “Bhogas”.

    Verse 3: Sa na Indrah Shivah sakhashwavad gomadvavama
    Urudhaarev dohate

    That very electric power may be our peaceful friend, providing us with the horse-power to drive our machines, light to light up our houses, and power to produce grains in the fields. Let it bring on prosperity and well-being for us by flowing into numerous currents.

     

    Verse 4: Indra Kratuvidang sutang somang harya purushtut
    Piba vrishaswa taatripim

    Let electricity, so highly spoken of by many learned people, help extract the essence of medicines, thus produced by those, who are well-versed in manufacturing things. Let it keep safe and shower, on us the rain, satisfying all.

     

    Chapter 3 :Hymn XXXI

    Verse 1: Taa Vajrinam Mandinam Stomyam mad indram rathe vahato haryataa haree
    Purunyasmay savanaani haryata indraaya somaa harayo dadhanwire

    Those two speedily moving forces of attraction and repulsion propel the electric current, powerful like the thunderbolt, pleasant and praiseworthy, in this pleasant plane or car. Manifold are the generating powers for the refulgent electricity borne by speedy moving Somas – various kinds of liquid fuels.

    Verse 2: Arang Kaamaay Haryo dadhanwire sthiraay hinvanharayo Haree tura
    Arvadbhiyor Haribhijorshameeyate so asya kaamam harivantamaanashe

    The above mentioned speedy forces of two kinds set in motion strong currents, capable of maintaining steady progress in the attainment of one’s objective in plenty. Whatever complex is attained by these fast moving horsepowers, is enough to achieve the beautiful objective of his, the manufacturer.

    Chapter 2: Hymn XV

    Verse 6: Twam tamindra parvatam mahaamurum vajrena vajrinparvshashchakartitha
    Avaasrijo nivritaah satarvaa apah satraa vishwam dadhishe kevalam sahah

    Just as the thundering electricity reduces the vast cloud to nothing by its thunderbolt, so do you, O King, equipped with piercing weapons like the thunderbolt, smash into pieces the vast armies of the enemy, consisting of various units, by your striking power like the thunderbolt. Just as the waters of the cloud released by the electricity, fall down and flow over the earth, similarly the well-equipped armies of the enemy; being subdued by the might of the king are duly regulated by him. Truly do you alone, O King, hold all the power to subdue the foes.

    The inference is quite obviously to weapons utilizing electricity. “Piercing weapons like the thunderbolt” is a clear pointer to surges of exceedingly high voltage. The lethal electric weapons are used to counter various units of the army. This is another clue, for as discussed above, the EMP effect can be used to advantage for a number of targets ranging from computers, to communication systems. Apparently electricity was employed as one of the primary weapons in military combat during the Vedic era.

    Chapter 4: Hymn XXXVIII

    Verse 5: Indra Idhyorah sacha sangmishal aa vachoyuja
    Indro vajri Hiranyah

    Electricity is well mixed up with Prana and Apana, the 2 horsepowers, yoked to power of speech. Electric power has the striking power of a deadly weapon and is full of brilliance.

  • Mantra For Setting Aright Errant Family Member

    We, at one time or another, have a Family Member, in errant ways.

     

    They are not outright bad or malicious.

     

    Just that they behave, in a manner of speaking, irresponsibly,become highly irritable, refuse to go work,do not get involved with other Family members.

     

    At times they may go missing for a couple of Days.

     

    Many ascribe it to Graha Peeta or due to some black magic.

     

    As for as I am concerned it just happens.

     

    People visit Psychiatrist who counsels or prescribes some anti-depressant.

     

    I have seen that none of them are too effective.

     

    What is most effective is the Sloka of Adi Shankaracharya in Subramanya Bhujangam

     

    This sloka has to be recited by the relatives, either the Father, or Son or Mother , Husband or wife, depending on who is affected.

    Recite the sloka for 108 times a day, after bath for a period of 45 days.

     

    As with Mantras do not reveal that you are reciting this Mantra or purpose.

     

    Naivedya may be Pal Paayasam or Sakkari Pongal.

     

    Start this sloka on the sixth day of the waxing Moon(Shukla Shasti)

  • Shasti Vrata For Children How To Follow

    I have posted some Mantras on Santhana Gopala Mantras for being Blessed with Children.

     

    I included in the post Mantras to prevent abortion.

     

    A little earlier I posted an article on Karbha Rakshmbigai for easy , natural delivery.

     

    Many readers wanted  to know more on this subject.

    To begin with I am providing information on how to follow the Shasti Vrata for Lord Subrahmnya for begetting children.

     

    I have observed, personally,that this Vrata has blessed the couple with children, in one case after 12 years and in another after six years.

    As on 25th October, 2017, Seventeen have been blessed with  CHILD after following the procedure. 

    This speaks of their faith and meticulous following of the procedure. 

     

     

    Have a Subrahmanya Idol/Photo at Home.

     

    Choose the sixth day of the Waxing moon, Shukla Shasti.

     

    Take  two one rupee or five rupees coins , have them tied up in a new white cloth tinged with turmeric powder.

     

    Pray your Family Deity for child.

     

    Keep these coins in the pooja room or in front of the Deity at Home.

     

    ( all these are to be performed after taking bath and with out taking food).

     

    Preferable if the husband wears Pancha kachcha and ladies Madisar,

     

    Perform the Astotra of Lord Subramanya.

     

    As Naivedya, offer Milk Payasam ot Sakkarai pongal.

    Or A teaspoon of honey or dry fruits.

     

    On this day the couple are not to eat anything.

     

    They should take fruits in the night.

     

    The couple should be together in the night.

     

    This Vrata has to be performed for 45 days( on every Shasti, both Shukla and Krishna Shasti)

     

    Ensure that you do not disclose to others that you are following this Vrata.

     

    I have noticed that woman conceive after the second observance, that is after the first shukla shasi when they have started the Vrata.

     

    If it possible, one may visit the Family Deity and Lord Subramanya in any of His Arupadai veedu, His Six Abodes , before the starting the Vrata.

     

    Or one may visit after the child is born and offer the Coins they have kept at Home before the Vrata.

  • Temple Buliding 11 Steps 13 Procedures

    Vedas, the Hindu Scriptures do not speak of either Collective worship or of building temples.

    This is a later development as prescribed by The Agamas.

     

    The Hindu temple typically involves a multiple set of ideas.

     

     The temple is  generally oriented to face East, the auspicious direction where the sun rises to dispel darkness.

    The temple design includes the archetypal image of a Cosmic Person spread out yogi-like, symmetrically filling the gridded space of the floor plan, his

    navel in the center, and it includes the archetype of the cosmic mountain, between earth and heaven, of fertility, planets, city of the gods, deities, etc.).

    One encounters these simultaneous archetypal themes and meanings conveyed (and hidden) in the semi-abstract forms in many Hindu temples.

    There are rules of shape and proportion in the authoritative texts of Hindu tradition, the Agamas.

     

    Vaasthu Purusha,Cosmic Man. The Vastupurusa pinned down on the ground by the gods12  The body of the Vastupurusa is supposed to be sensitive at a number of points called  marmas. The well-being of the Vastupurusa assures the well-being of the building and, by  implication, its owner. An important criterion for any building, therefore, is to avoid injury  to the marmas located on the body of the Vastupurusa. To ensure that this is achieved,  texts prohibit any direct construction upon the marmas themselves. The marmas are  specifically said to lie at the intersection of major diagonals, seen as the veins (siras or  nadis) of the purusa

    Basics.

     

    Selection of site.

    Soil and location are examined by acarya and shilpi., The Bhupariksha.

    Then  the planning off Nagara/Grama nirmana. the layout of town, its size, breadth of different levels of streets, locations and sizes of facilities like water tanks are determined based on the size of town. There are different names for different sizes of towns, like grama, kheta, kharvata, durga, nagara.

    Location of Brahma Sthana, the Location of the Temple  in the town is decided.

    Temple is usually in the center of village so that every one has easy access.

    Grama Vinyasa is the name of the Process.

    Then the size of temple is determined.

    For this, size of the image of main deity is to be known, since the size of a temple is always a fixed multiple of the size of image of main Deity.

    Then wood/metal/stone is selected for the image.

    The icon has three parts, main icon (vigraha), pedestal (peetha) and platform (adhisthana or upa peetha).

    The tests to determine quality of stone are prescribed by the Agamas.

    There are three kinds of stone, male female and neuter.

    When hit with an iron rod if the stone produces good sound and spark, it is male and should be used for the main icon.

    If it produces sound but not spark it is female and should be used for pedestal.

    If it produces neither, it is neuter and should be used for platform.

    There are various standards for the relative proportions of image, gopura, prakara .

    The Eleven Steps.

     

    1. Bhu pariksha: Examining and choosing location and soil for temple and town. The land should be fertile and soil suitable.
    2. Sila pariksha: Examining and choosing material for image
    3. Karshana: Corn or some other crop is grown in the place first and is fed to cows. Then the location is fit for town/temple construction.
    4. Vastu puja: Ritual to propitiate vastu devata.
    5. Salyodhara: Undesired things like bones are dug out.
    6. Adyestaka: Laying down the first stone
    7. Nirmana: Then foundation is laid and land is purified by sprinkling water. A pit is dug, water mixed with navaratnas, navadhanyas, navakhanijas is then put in and pit is filled. Then the temple is constructed.
    8. Murdhestaka sthapana: Placing the top stone over the prakara, gopura etc. This again involves creating cavities filled with gems minerals seeds etc. and then the pinnacles are placed.
    9. Garbhanyasa: A pot made of five metals (pancaloha kalasa sthapana) is installed at the place of main deity.
    10. Sthapana: Then the main deity is installed.
    11. Pratistha: The main deity is then charged with life/god-ness.

     

    The Thirteen Procedures  before Daily Worship.

     

    • Anujna: the priest takes permission from devotees and lord Ganesha to begin rituals
    • Mrit samgrahana: Collecting mud
    • Ankurarpana: Sowing seeds in pots of mud collected and waiting till they germinate
    • Rakshabandhana: The priest binds a holy thread on his hand to take up the assignment.
    • Punyahavacana: Purifying ritual for the place and invoking good omens
    • Grama santi: Worship for the good of village and to remove subtle undesired elements
    • Pravesa bali: Propitiation of various gods at different places in the temple, rakshoghna puja (to destroy asuric elements) and of specific gods like Kshetra palaka (devata ruling the town)
    • Vastu Santi: Pacifying puja for vastu (this happens twice and this is the second time)
    • Yagasala: Building the stage for homas, along with vedika.
    • Kalasasthapana: Installing kalasam
    • Samskara: Purifying the yaga sala
    • Kalasa puja, yagarambha: Woshipping the kalasa as god and propitiating deities through fire
    • Nayanonmeelana, Pratimadhivasa: Opening eyes of the god-image, installing it and giving it life.

     

    Then specific worship is done to deity, as prescribed. For instance in the case of Siva, this is followed by Astabandhana and Kumbhabhisheka.
