Fluoride in Toothpastes-Dangerous.

We are bombarded with Advertisements from the Toothpaste Manufacturers  as to how Fluoride prevents tooth cavities.

Facts are different.

Take your decision.

While fluoride is promoted as cavity fighter, there is little science to support it- and there is no evidence that the lack of fluoride could lead to high risk of cavities.

fluoride (that is added to municipal water) is a hazardous waste product…for which there is substantial evidence of adverse health effects and, contrary to public perception, virtually no evidence of significant benefits,” says Dr. William Hirzy, Vice President, Chapter 280 of the National Treasury Employees Union, EPA headquarters in Washington, D.C.

In high concentration, fluoride is toxic. Although it is regarded as beneficial for dental health in low dosage, there really is no margin of safety for fluoride exposure. Long term exposure interferes with bone formation and even a dose of 1 milligram/day produces dental fluorosis on 10 percent of the population taking it.

Symptoms of fluoride poisoning from ingesting large amounts includes abdominal pains, diarrhea, hypersalivation, mucosal injury, nausea, vomiting, electrolyte abnormalities (hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia, hypoglycemia, and hypomagnesemia), neurological symptoms (headache, muscle weakness, hyperactive reflexes, muscular spasms, titanic contractions, and tremors. Multi-organ-failure is reported in severe cases and death resulting from cardiac arrest or shock.

The only transparent and accepted adverse effect of fluoridated water is dental fluorosis (discoloration and/or pitting of teeth)

But long term fluoride consumption is linked to several harmful health effects, including dental and skeletal fluorosis, bone pathology, arthritis, and osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, memory loss and other neurological impairment, kidney damage, cancer, and genetic damage.
