Ex-President Pervez Musharrraff closed the operationwhich was in place to hunt Osama Bin Laden.
Musharraf has many voices.
Deal with Mulla Omar and at the same time with US.
In a recent interview to NDTV he protested US operation Osama,at the same time said it was warranted.
He called it was colossal Intelligence failure which has brought shame to Pakistan,; in the same breath would not demand the resignation of those in charge of Pakistan Security,ISI included.
Pakistan had some clues, but could not locate Osama bin laden.
Intelligence Agencies were incompetent and they might have had a hand in the US opearation.
Icing on the cake is that the ISI might have failed because A Junior Officer was handling Sector controlling Abbottabad.
Former ISI DG Lt Gen Ziauddin Khwaja claims it was former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf who stopped the ISI from hunting Osama bin Laden.
Lt Gen Ziauddin claims that during his tenure as ISI chief, he had set up a special force with the specific aim – to hunt down Osama. He insists his unit was doing well, but was shut down on direct instructions issued by Gen Musharraf.
In an interview to a Pakistani daily, Khwaja has said that the special unit was set up after Taliban supreme leader Mullah Omer showed his helplessness in getting to Osama, during Gen Ziauddin’s visit to Kandahar.
Immediately on his return, a directive was issued to raise a special force of 60 trained commandos headed by a brigadier of the Special Services Group.

– Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf denied Tuesday that his administration struck an agreement with the United States years ago to let American special forces kill or capture Osama bin Laden inside Pakistan.
The denial follows a report in a British newspaper that Washington and Islamabad reached a secret deal nearly a decade ago allowing the U.S. to conduct operations against bin Laden and two other top al-Qaida leaders on Pakistani soil.
“Pervez Musharraf has seen a media report, and let me make it clear that no such agreement had been signed during his tenure,” said Musharraf’s spokesman, Fawad Chaudhry. He said there was no oral agreement either.
