What I fail to understand is that when private institutions fail why there is a hue and cry being raised to bail them out.Businness is a question of profit and loss.Profits come in, you rake it.Loss comes, you become a cry baby.Would the Govt. offer financial support to individuals to meet economic down turn? The whole idea is ridiculous.Communism is much better in that at least the Govt has also been making profits when the Govt. enterprises have been profitable. Here, we are attempting to share only the loss.
Corporate Bail out.

Nothing personal is envisaged. It is only my thoughts as it comes along I write. Not necessary that I am right.
By the way I have seen some of your writings. To say the least they are honest and down to earth.Keep up your views as it presents me an opportunity to have better perspective.Thank you.

I understand what you are saying, but communism is definately not the answer. Not at all!

Agreed. That remark was made in exasperation and anger.I shall be writing on Communism shortly, which,in my opinion, treats human beings as animals and a number and their ideals are Utopian and impractical and stops at the cerebral level with no heart. As I have said in one of my Blogs, Keynesian Economics also seems to be failing and an alternate system, sans Communism has to be put in place, if we are to be successful on the economic front, for measures taken to contain Inflation brings in Deflation and that brings in again Inflation and this cycle must end.India is facing this confusion, with nobody knowing what to do;inflation is under control, yet prices are picking up,demand is ok.Non essential prices are rocketing ,yet those industries are doing reasonably well; demand for essentials is good, product is there but no transaction(Inventory level and distribution is reasonably good)Any thoughts?

Exactly what hue and cry are you talking about?
American citizens overwhelmingly were against bailing failing companies out.
The failing companies used the prospective loss of jobs as a negotiating tool to obtain public funds and The State was eager to fund them with our money in exchange for a power grab.
By the way, since when hasn’t the government offered public support to individuals who meet an economic downturn? This the overwhelming majority of American citizens support as long it is targeted, temporary, without fraud, and is not squandered by the recipients.
Do you know anything about the United States of America?

I have expressed what you have said.Despite people’s anger against bail out,due to lobbying by corporates( that is the hue and cry about), have forced the Govt. to initiate action to bail them out, which the Government has acceded to, though not quite openly. What is meant in my comment is ,in a sarcastic way ,whether the government will support individuals, if they face financial difficulty, as they are doing for the corporates. Has the government helped people who are in a state of penury/without jobs? The answer is NO.Government is by the rich, of the rich and for the rich, period.Let us not score goals on the same side, as what I have said is essentially the same as you have said.I know very little about US to make Bill Clinton to forward him questions/suggestion on Action Plan by Clinton Foundation and BBC has aired my views on World News on Obama,s UN speech.Thank you for your compliment.
As for as my knowledge of America is concerned , NYT , Washington Post and WSJ regularly publish my comments.(NYT is moderated, no automatic posting) apart from Guardian,Times London,( moderated)Courier mail,Australia( moderated),Times of India( moderated),Indian Express,( moderated )Scientist( moderated),Psychology to day ( moderated)to cite a few..I am sorry I am such an ignoramus.-
Oh, those who share your world-view published your comments. Aaww, isn’t that cute. The Old Red Lady posted your comments? I’m sure your mommy thinks you’re quite a catch and how could any disagree as you show us your scrapbook of clippings?
The State was in no way was forced to bail out failing corporations. It eagerly did so against the wishes of the voters to seize more centralized power. Do you recall how they attempted to strong-arm Ford into taking money? Do you recall how they tried to strong-arm some banks into taking money? Do you recall how they tried to strong-arm some states into taking money? The eventual revelations of the string attached made The State’s motives clear.
Despite your ignorance, government certainly helped people in financial straights. Unemployment checks, the extension of same, Medicare, Food Stamps, WIC, subsidized housing, loan modification, retraining programs, and stimulus checks are just a sample. Who with any pride could ask for much more?
One thing you were accurate – even a stopped clock – about. Government is largely “by the rich”…
They pay for almost all of it.
