Then they came to Kampilya (Kampil, Uttar Pradesh), the capital of Drupada. The historian Thakur Deshraj has mentioned that the people of Kampilya were later known as Koil. The Koīl people came from Kampilya and founded the city known asKampilgarh, situated south east of Ganges. The town of Kampilgarh later became popular as Koil which is now Aligarh. Shri Nagendranath Basu has mentioned in ‘Bangla vishva kosha’ that Jats seized Ramgarh in 1757 AD and named it Koil. This was later took by Marathas and appointed a French named Piran as administrator of this place. Koil is also mentioned in an old folk-song ‘Rag dhola’ which tells about Fool Singh Punjabi Jat as its ruler. This place was also ruled by Maharaja Suraj Mal of Bharatpur for some time. 4.Varaha Tirtha.
The most prominent temples of Varaha is the Sri Varahaswami Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. It is located on the shores of a temple pond, called the Swami Pushkarini, in Tirumala, near Tirupati; to the north of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple (another temple of Vishnu in the form ofVenkateswara). The region is called Adi-Varaha Kshestra, the abode of Varaha. The legend of the place is as follows: at the end of Satya Yuga (the first in the cycle of four aeons; the present one is the fourth aeon), devotees of Varaha requested him to stay on earth, so Varaha ordered his mount Garudato bring his divine garden Kridachala from his abode Vaikuntha to Venkata hills, Tirumala. Venkateswara is described as having taken the permission of Varaha to reside in these hills, where his chief temple, Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, stands. Hence, pilgrims are prescribed to worship Varaha first and then Venkateswara. In the Atri Samhita (Samurtarchanadhikara), Varaha is described to be worshipped in three forms here: Adi Varaha, Pralaya Varaha and Yajna Varaha. The image in the sanctum is of Adi Varaha..

The Sudarshana Chakra then fell into a place, which later came to be known as Chakra Theertham. This pond is known for cleanse bathers of sins that would lead them to the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu.

Cutting across party lines MPs of India have agreed to lobby for a non-existent Australian firm for bribes.
This was revealed in a sting operation by CobraPost.

Investigative website Cobrapost has exposed 11 MPs who were willing to write letters of recommendation for a fictitious foreign oil major for money.
The investigation, panning over a year, exposes MPs from Congress, BJP, BSP, JD(U) and AIADMK willing to issue letters of recommendation to promote a fictitious Australian oil exploration company in exchange for fees ranging between Rs 50,000 to Rs 50 lakh. Six of these MPs even wrote the letters for a fee.
Code-named ‘Operation Falcon Claw’, Cobrapost expose claims that the MPs were willing to not only write recommendation letters but also lobby with the Union ministry of petroleum to help the company secure oil exploration and rigging rights in the northeast.
However, none of these 11 MPs bothered to check the antecedents of the company or check if the company was real, Cobrapost claimed. What they hankered after was money, quoting as low as Rs 50,000 to a mind-boggling Rs 50 lakh as the price for a letter of recommendation, delivered all in cash. One MP even demanded that his fee be delivered through a hawala operator. Six MPs issued letters of recommendation to Cobrapost.
The parliamentarians who were exposed are K Sugumar and C Rajendran from AIADMK; Lalu Bhai Patel, Ravindra Kumar Pandey and Hari Manjhi from BJP; Vishwa Mohan Kumar, Maheshwar Hazari and Bhudeo Chaudhary from JD(U); Khiladi Lal Bairwa and Vikrambhai Arjanbhai from Congress; and Kaiser Jahan from BSP.

While it is surprising that the ASI, which even queries Ram Janma Bhoomi goes by the dream of a Seer, with the Government’s blessings, it is not surprising that the Government is quiet on bringing the Black Money in the Swiss Banks.
A spokesman of the Government said,
“”There is no harm if the country benefits from it,” Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhurytold reporters. ‘
True, there is harm to all the politicians if the Swiss Bank issue is followed up.
Story:
The Congress on Friday supported the Archaeological Survey of India’s (ASI) treasure hunt in an old fort in Uttar Pradesh‘s Unnao district, and said the move benefits the country, no harm going for it.
“There is no harm if the country benefits from it,” Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhurytold reporters.
She defended the ASI move to excavate for around 1,000 tonnes of gold, which a seer said he dreamt to have been buried near a temple at the old fort.
“The Geological Survey of India said there is some metal underneath the temple. What actually is there will be known only after digging,” said Chowdhary.
The old fort at Dondia Khera village belongs to Unnao’s mid-19th century ruler Raja Rao Ram Bux Singh. Unnao is 50 km from the state capital Lucknow.
Shobhan Sarkar, a famous seer of the region, wrote to the Prime Minister that the late king came in his dreams and asked him to get the treasure dug up and hand it over to the government of India to tide over the economic crisis.
Taking a dig at the Centre for its “gold hunt”, BJP‘s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today urged the Government to bring back the black money allegedly stashed in Swiss banks.
“The government has started to dig for some 1,000 tonnes gold, after someone dreamt of it. You bring back the money that the looters have stashed in Swiss banks. That would be more than the value of 1,000 tonnes of gold,” Modi said while addressing BJP workers on his arrival here on a day’s visit to the city.
According to the baba, as many as 1000 tons of gold was buried by Raja Ram Baksh Singh, an erstwhile taluqdar of Avadh under his palace in Daundiya village. The raja was hanged by the British for participating in the first war of independence in 1857. His two daughters, who were his only successors, ended their lives by jumping into the Ganga river after which the palace remained abandoned before it eventually crumbled.
Even as there is no scientific evidence with the ASI to corroborate the baba’s claim, the village has been drawing people from far and wide. Locals have begun to nurture hopes that the gold haul would also accrue some bounty for the otherwise highly undeveloped area.
“We want the government to build a medical college, hospital and engineering college and perhaps even an aerodrome with all the money they would earn,” says Ajay Pal Singh, the localgram pradhan (village head).’
In yet another proof of law being an ass ,Gods have been summoned to Court.
“”You failed to appear in court despite notices sent by a peon and later through registered post. You are herby directed to appear before the court personally”, Judge Singh’s notice said.’
Instances.
A judge in India has summoned two Hindu gods, Ram and Hanuman, to help resolve a property dispute.
Judge Sunil Kumar Singh in the eastern state of Jharkhand has issued adverts in newspapers asking the gods to “appear before the court personally”.
The gods have been asked to appear before the court on Tuesday, after the judge said that letters addressed to them had gone unanswered.
Ram and Hanuman are among the most popular Indian Hindu gods.
Judge Singh presides in a “fast track” court – designed to resolve disputes quickly – in the city of Dhanbad.
The dispute is now 20 years old and revolves around the ownership of a 1.4 acre plot of land housing two temples.

Judge Sunil Kumar Singh in letter to Lord Ram and Hanuman
The deities of Ram and Hanuman, the monkey god, are worshipped at the two temples on the land.
Temple priest Manmohan Pathak claims the land belongs to him. Locals say it belongs to the two deities.
The two sides first went to court in 1987.
“A court notice has been officially sent to Lord Indra, the Hindu god of rains, asking Him to explain within three days as to why adequate rains did not occur in the Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh (UP), during this monsoon season. Is this a mischief or mockery played at the government procedures or against human beliefs? The government officials are still unable to trace the whereabouts.
The court serves notice to Lord Indra, God of rain
Lord Indra.
Times of india dated 7th August, 2012, has reported about this mischief played in the north Indian state Uttar Pradesh. The notice has been typed in the official format and terminology, normally used by the government when it issues a summon. It is also duly stamped and signed by the concerned judicial authority, the Sub-District Magistrate of Savayajpur tehsil, in the Hardoi district.
The envelope containing the summon notice is addressed as, “To, Lord Indra, the God of rains, Heaven”. It was sent to a revenue clerk, named Swatantra Kumar, directing him to find out the addressee and serve the summon personally to Lord Indra. The clerk returned the notice with the remark that it could not be delivered due to “technical reasons”. In fact, the concerned magistrate was on leave. Reports say that the notice was really a mischief, with fake stamp and forging signature…

2. Please provide the years for which these MPs have not filed their returns
Lalu Prasad Yadav

Apart from the RTI application, Bairwal also separately requested all Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs to disclose their I-T returns in larger public interest. Says Bairwal, “Some of these MPs sent us their I-T Returns and insisted that we make them public on our website whereas others uploaded them on their own website. We also came across some MPs and MLAs who have already submitted their I-T returns along with the respective chief minister’s office and the prime minister’s office.’’ In all, 28 of them including Anu Aga and Ambika Soni have revealed their I-T returns – (see box below).

At the CIC hearing, representatives of 10 out of 20 MPs were present. The public information officers who denied the information stating lack of larger public interest and the representatives of MPs/ MLAs were invited for the hearing. The bench comprised Information Commissoners (IC) Mr ML Sharma, Ms Annapurna Dixit and Mr Rajiv Mathur.
The three CICs repeatedly questioned the representatives of the MPs as to how disclosing of their I-T returns was not in larger public interest. They repeatedly referred to the Supreme Court judgment which made declarations of assets and other details mandatory at thetime of contesting elections.. However, no arguments were put forth by the Public information Officers of the I-T department who had initially denied providing the information stating lack of public interest, states the press statement of ADR.
It is worth noting that Sonia Gandhi refused to divulge her IT returns quoting her ‘Privacy’
‘
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has declined to disclose details of her income tax returns under the RTI Act, citing personal freedom and security risk. In her reply to the I-T department, she also said there was no public interest involved in disclosing such information.
Chennai-based RTI activist V Gopalakrishnan had sought details of her I-T returns from the year 2000-2001 to 2010-2011. The assistant commissioner of income tax, New Delhi, who is also the chief public information officer (CPIO), wrote to the UPA chairperson on January 23 as per Section 11 of the RTI Act, 2005, seeking her response to the application. In her reply, Sonia said disclosure of such private information to third parties in guise of transparency in public life would amount to unwarranted invasion of the individual’s privacy. The information submitted to the I-T department by an individual was confidential and private in nature and cannot be disclosed as per Section 138 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, she said.’
