  • Denial Of ‘Climate Change’ Will Not Be Published

I have often blogged on the controversy surrounding Environment change, Green House Effect and Global Warming.

    Deny Climate Change.
ON Climate Change, LA Times. And those scientists have provided ample evidence that human activity is indeed linked to climate change. Just last month, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change — a body made up of the world’s top climate scientists — said it was 95% certain that we fossil-fuel-burning humans are driving global warming. The debate right now isn’t whether this evidence exists (clearly, it does) but what this evidence means for us.
Simply put, I do my best to keep errors of fact off the letters page; when one does run, a correction is published. Saying “there’s no sign humans have caused climate change” is not stating an opinion, it’s asserting a factual inaccuracy.

There have been Scientific papers denying the Climate Change.’

A Scientist,Nobel Laureate, resigned from a Premier Institution  because the Paper denying Climate change was refused to be Published.

I have written the fact many NGOs exist by the people’s fear of Climate Change and it is a Huge Industry, raking in enormous profits for the NGOs.

Now the Media, Los Angeles Times‘ has joined the fray by refusing to publish letters that deny Climate Change.

A piece this weekend debunking the claim that Congress and the president are exempted from Obamacare has drawn a harsh reaction from some readers and conservative bloggers. But their umbrage wasn’t with the piece’s explanation of why letters making this claim do not get published.

Rather, they were upset by the statement that letters “[saying] there’s no sign humans have caused climate change” do not get printed. Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters blogged about it over the weekend:

“It’s one thing for a news outlet to advance the as yet unproven theory of anthropogenic global warming; it’s quite another to admit that you won’t publish views that oppose it.

“As amazing as it may seem, that’s exactly what the Los Angeles Times did Saturday in an article by editorial writerJon Healey….

“So letters to the editor ‘that say there’s no sign humans have caused climate change … do not get printed.’

“That’s quite a statement coming from an editorial writer not named Al Gore.”

The protagonists of Climate Change picked this up and started,

The Los Angeles Times recently announced that they are refusing to publish letters that deny climate change. Their reasoning is simple: climate denial contradicts basic science, and journalists should not print factually inaccurate information. This is a huge opportunity to demand that other mainstream newspapers follow the L.A. Times‘ lead and refuse to publish climate misinformation, too.

Sign the petition below to tell the editors of The New York TimesThe Washington PostUSA Today, and The Wall Street Journal: our country’s most respected newspapers should refuse to print letters that deny basic science. ‘

The fallacy here is there for every one to see.

It is not the ordinary mortals like you and me who deny Climate Change, but Scientists!

And one has to remember that Science is not Fallible, in fact it is more Fallible than anything else(read my posts on this under ‘Science’)

    Read the following:

The Climate change and Green House Gases evoke a lot of controversy.

On the one hand a  group claims the world is becoming warmer and we are rushing into disaster because of green house Effects  the other Group claims that the data on Climate change is debatable , neutral scientific papers are not allowed to do the rounds and that Scientists advocating greenhouse Effects  do not allow external verification of their Data.

I belong to the minority who believes  that climate change is a fraud perpetrated on the gullible, solely with the intention of funding the NGO Industry.”

“Dangerous manmade global warming” has become the most systematic, massive, costly fraud ever perpetrated. This is a harsh judgment, but the mounting evidence is undeniable.

As climate analyst Anthony Watts points out, after a very modest rise over 20 years, Earth’s average temperature hasn’t increased in 17 years, even as plant-fertilizing carbon-dioxide levels climbed to nearly 400 parts per million, still a minuscule 0.04 percent of the atmosphere.

The eight years since a Category 3 hurricane hit the United States marks the longest such period since 1900, he notes. Tornado frequency is the lowest on record. Droughts are shorter and less extreme than during the Dust Bowl and 1950s.

Arctic sea ice is back to normal, following the coldest summer in decades. Antarctic ice is at a record high. Sea levels continue to rise at a meager rate of 4 to 8 inches per century. Four of the five snowiest Northern Hemisphere winters in the last half-century have occurred since 2008. This year has brought the fewest U.S. forest fires in a decade and ranks second-lowest in acres burned.

Ignoring these facts, President Obama continues to claim “dangerous” carbon-dioxide emissions are causing “unprecedented” global warming, “more extreme” hurricanes, more wildfires, and rising seas that “threaten” coastal communities. His Environmental Protection Agency just proposed stringent job-killing carbon-dioxide regulations for coal-fired power plants and has more rules in the hopper — at a time when the economy is already turning full-time positions into part-time jobs and welfare.

As they prepared their latest scary report, U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change scientists, bureaucrats and eco-activists devised ways to cover up the “bad” news. Among other things, they deleted all references to the 17-year temperature standstill from the “summary for policymakers.” They are editing the science to reflect the politics.

Chairman Rajendra Pachauri insists that there is “definitely an increase in our belief” that humans are “responsible for climate change” and there is “no slowdown” in planetary temperature increases. The IPCC says it still has “very high confidence” that its faulty models correctly represent carbon-dioxide effects on planetary temperatures. Student papers, environmentalist press releases and baseless claims about disappearing Himalayan glaciers remain in IPCC reports, falsely presented as “peer-reviewed” studies by credentialed experts.”

  • A Word With My Readers

I have been receiving emails that I Publish some of my thoughts on some of the Subjects I have been writing about,

I have been receiving requests from ,I presume to be students, that I publish a book on English Grammar, as they have read my posts on  English Grammar,

The post on Degrees of Comparison is quite popular.

And there have been emails asking me publish my posts on Hinduism and Indian Philosophy.

On looking at the profiles of my regular readers , I find them to be well-informed and very knowledgeable.

I like to receive your views on the Subjects I may publish, eBooks and printed version.

I have completed my manuscript for English Grammar.

The Book is different in two aspects.

It is aimed at all people, not making English Grammar only a Text book, for after all Grammar is useful for every one.

And I have tried to use simple language , devoid of jargon, as the purpose is to make people understand Grammar, not to prepare them for examinations.

Secondly I have found, in most of the English Grammar Books, the examples quoted are from the West and this, to me sounds irrelevant.

For example for a country starved of rains most of the time, what sense does it make  to say ‘rain, Rain, Go Away’?

or what exactly is the purpose of saying jack and Jill  tumbling after?

Would it not be better if we can provide examples from the Indian context, especially from the Ithihasas and Puranas so that children , and in my opinion most of the Adults in India, learn more of values than nonsense sentences?

I have attempted to provide examples from the Ithihasas , Puarans and from Indian Current affairs,

I would be grateful if my readers could spare some of their time and energy and let me know what topics would be of use in Hinduism/Indian Philosophy.

I welcome suggestions on other topics as well.

As I have mentioned in many of my posts I started writing for the pleasure of it.

Now as I find that is useful to some one, I am extremely happy.

Not that what I say is correct but it has made people  think and read some of the Indian Original Texts,

This, I could find from their comments at the site and in personal communications.

    Await your feedback.

    Regards,

    Ramanan.S.V.

  • Now You can view The Mistakes of Scientists

We normally accept the the statements 0f Scientists as  Gospel.

We never get to know the othe side of the story.

The Data is interpreted to suit the Scientist’s (not all scientists indulge in this) view or worse still the view of the Sponsor, say a Pharma Company.

Peer reviewed Journals are also guilty of this crime.

    Logo of ResearchGate
    ResearchGate Logo

A Medical Student has come out with a web service, where Scientists papers are Published straight , with out moderation .

    Negative comments are published.

    Story:

It’s a way of bringing academics together online, but it’s also a means of instantly publishing research. Yes, there are other sites that let you self-publish academic work — most notably Cornell University’sarXiv and the Public Library of Science — but ResearchGate goes further. Part of the aim is to share research even before it’s packaged into a formal paper — including “negative data” that may show that a particular thesis isn’t worth following.

“There has to be a way for scientists to share negative data, so that we’re not just making the same mistakes again and again,” Madisch says. “We spend so much time and money on experiments that we already know don’t work.”

Today, the service claims nearly 2 million registered users, and though it continues to battle the skepticism of researchers who still see traditional journals as the best way to share and validate research — not to mention build a career — it’s slowly winning over many of its most ardent critics.

It’s a great thing — and I was surprised it’s a great thing,” says Rafael Luque, a professor of organic chemistry at the University of Córdoba, who shares completed research papers as well as raw experiments and ideas. “At first, it looked like just another version of Facebook. I have nothing against Facebook. I just don’t have time for it. But ResearchGate is different. It stimulates thought.”

Madisch grew up in Germany, where he studied medicine before coming to the States for an M.D.-Ph.D. program at Harvard. It was there he dreamed up the idea of ResearchGate. “I wanted to form teams of scientists all over the world,” he says. “And I wanted to go across disciplines.” The idea was so attractive to him, he eventually decided to curtail his medical studies so he could spend more time developing it — a decision that raised the ire of his longtime adviser back in Germany.

  • What is Wikileaks ,how it works-Full Story.

Wiki leaks may, nay, has embarrassed the Governments the world over, yet the fact remains that it has exposed the hypocrisy and double-dealing diplomatic non-sense.

The muted reactions from the Governments speaks for itself for the skullduggery being practiced by all.

Internet and Wiki leaks have proved one thing ,that the world is really one and people need to be told how they are being manipulated by their own.

Wiki leaks is really the Fourth Estate in its real sense

    Story:

WikiLeaks is a not-for-profit media organisation. Our goal is to bring important news and information to the public. We provide an innovative, secure and anonymous way for sources to leak information to our journalists (our electronic drop box). One of our most important activities is to publish original source material alongside our news stories so readers and historians alike can see evidence of the truth. We are a young organisation that has grown very quickly, relying on a network of dedicated volunteers around the globe. Since 2007, when the organisation was officially launched, WikiLeaks has worked to report on and publish important information. We also develop and adapt technologies to support these activities.

WikiLeaks has sustained and triumphed against legal and political attacks designed to silence our publishing organisation, our journalists and our anonymous sources. The broader principles on which our work is based are the defence of freedom of speech and media publishing, the improvement of our common historical record and the support of the rights of all people to create new history. We derive these principles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In particular, Article 19 inspires the work of our journalists and other volunteers. It states that everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. We agree, and we seek to uphold this and the other Articles of the Declaration.

    1.2 How WikiLeaks works

WikiLeaks has combined high-end security technologies with journalism and ethical principles. Like other media outlets conducting investigative journalism, we accept (but do not solicit) anonymous sources of information. Unlike other outlets, we provide a high security anonymous drop box fortified by cutting-edge cryptographic information technologies. This provides maximum protection to our sources. We are fearless in our efforts to get the unvarnished truth out to the public. When information comes in, our journalists analyse the material, verify it and write a news piece about it describing its significance to society. We then publish both the news story and the original material in order to enable readers to analyse the story in the context of the original source material themselves. Our news stories are in the comfortable presentation style of Wikipedia, although the two organisations are not otherwise related. Unlike Wikipedia, random readers can not edit our source documents.

As the media organisation has grown and developed, WikiLeaks been developing and improving a harm minimisation procedure. We do not censor our news, but from time to time we may remove or significantly delay the publication of some identifying details from original documents to protect life and limb of innocent people.

We accept leaked material in person and via postal drops as alternative methods, although we recommend the anonymous electronic drop box as the preferred method of submitting any material. We do not ask for material, but we make sure that if material is going to be submitted it is done securely and that the source is well protected. Because we receive so much information, and we have limited resources, it may take time to review a source’s submission.

We also have a network of talented lawyers around the globe who are personally committed to the principles that WikiLeaks is based on, and who defend our media organisation.

1.3 Why the media (and particularly Wiki leaks) is important

Publishing improves transparency, and this transparency creates a better society for all people. Better scrutiny leads to reduced corruption and stronger democracies in all society’s institutions, including government, corporations and other organisations. A healthy, vibrant and inquisitive journalistic media plays a vital role in achieving these goals. We are part of that media.

Scrutiny requires information. Historically, information has been costly in terms of human life, human rights and economics. As a result of technical advances particularly the internet and cryptography – the risks of conveying important information can be lowered. In its landmark ruling on the Pentagon Papers, the US Supreme Court ruled that “only a free and unrestrained press can effectively expose deception in government.” We agree.

We believe that it is not only the people of one country that keep their own government honest, but also the people of other countries who are watching that government through the media.

In the years leading up to the founding of WikiLeaks, we observed the world’s publishing media becoming less independent and far less willing to ask the hard questions of government, corporations and other institutions. We believed this needed to change.

WikiLeaks has provided a new model of journalism. Because we are not motivated by making a profit, we work cooperatively with other publishing and media organisations around the globe, instead of following the traditional model of competing with other media. We don’t hoard our information; we make the original documents available with our news stories. Readers can verify the truth of what we have reported themselves. Like a wire service, WikiLeaks reports stories that are often picked up by other media outlets. We encourage this. We believe the world’s media should work together as much as possible to bring stories to a broad international readership.

1.4 How WikiLeaks verifies its news stories

We assess all news stories and test their veracity. We send a submitted document through a very detailed examination a procedure. Is it real? What elements prove it is real? Who would have the motive to fake such a document and why? We use traditional investigative journalism techniques as well as more modern rtechnology-based methods. Typically we will do a forensic analysis of the document, determine the cost of forgery, means, motive, opportunity, the claims of the apparent authoring organisation, and answer a set of other detailed questions about the document. We may also seek external verification of the document For example, for our release of the Collateral Murder video, we sent a team of journalists to Iraq to interview the victims and observers of the helicopter attack. The team obtained copies of hospital records, death certificates, eye witness statements and other corroborating evidence supporting the truth of the story. Our verification process does not mean we will never make a mistake, but so far our method has meant that WikiLeaks has correctly identified the veracity of every document it has published.

Publishing the original source material behind each of our stories is the way in which we show the public that our story is authentic. Readers don’t have to take our word for it; they can see for themselves. In this way, we also support the work of other journalism organisations, for they can view and use the original documents freely as well. Other journalists may well see an angle or detail in the document that we were not aware of in the first instance. By making the documents freely available, we hope to expand analysis and comment by all the media. Most of all, we want readers know the truth so they can make up their own minds.

    1.5 The people behind WikiLeaks

WikiLeaks is a project of the Sunshine Press. It’s probably pretty clear by now that WikiLeaks is not a front for any intelligence agency or government despite a rumour to that effect. This rumour was started early in WikiLeaks’ existence, possibly by the intelligence agencies themselves. WikiLeaks is an independent global group of people with a long standing dedication to the idea of a free press and the improved transparency in society that comes from this. The group includes accredited journalists, software programmers, network engineers, mathematicians and others.

To determine the truth of our statements on this, simply look at the evidence. By definition, intelligence agencies want to hoard information. By contrast, WikiLeaks has shown that it wants to do just the opposite. Our track record shows we go to great lengths to bring the truth to the world without fear or favour.

The great American president Thomas Jefferson once observed that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. We believe the journalistic media plays a key role in this vigilance.
