  • Spent 1880 Crore on Sonia,Modi -RTI Activist Denies

Narendra Modi who normally has figures to back him up seems to have slipped up this time.

He alleges the Government had spent Rs.1880 Crore on Sonia Gandhi’s Foreign jaunts and medical expenses by The Government of India.

He is right in demanding that the Government reply.

He quoted an RTI application filed by one Mr.Ramesh Verma from Hisar.

Mr.Ramesh denied that he received the information from the Government.

The status, according to him is that he is yet to receive a reply though he filed the application in February 2010 and

“I did not get any information following which I moved the Chief Information Commissioner. The CIC directed the Prime Minister’s Office to furnish this information, but my file only moved around places but the information was never furnished. I have now filed another complaint stating that the information has not yet been furnished,” added Verma.

On how he managed to get information that a sum of Rs 85 lakh was spent on her foreign trips, Verma informed that this was based on his contacts. He said that he had got this information from some of his contacts abroad. “However, at no point did I mention the sum of Rs 1,880 crore as mentioned by the Gujarat chief minister,” Verma pointed out.”

He says the news about the the amount 85 lakhs spent on Sonia Gandhi’s trips abroad was from his ‘contact’.

As of now,his statements seem to be speculative and it does not suit the person of Narendra Modi’s stature to make allegations on the basis of an unverified information, if this is the source he is speaking about.

If Modi’s present out bursts prove to be founded on inaccurate information his future statements are easy for the Congress to rebut.

Modi is  a man one respects for his governance, honesty, integrity and Culture.

He need not ape Digvijay Singh

“Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi criticised theUPA government for questioning his government for spending money on festivities and celebrations, saying that central government has itself spent Rs 1,880 crore for UPA chairpersonSonia Gandhi’s foreign trips and treatment abroad over three years.

Modi said the state should not be questioned when the central government has itself spent Rs 1,880 crore for Sonia Gandhi‘s foreign trips.

Modi alleged that the Congress president was getting all facilities like special flight, which were meant only for the prime minister and president of India.

  • Modi on Middle Class Women-He is Right.

That women of young age, under the deluge of misinformation by multi nationals marketing their useless products, choose beauty and fashion over health,is true.

They would be prepared to spend money on clearasil ( did I get the name right),Garnier‘s take care of the manufacturer), a face cream and be reluctant to spend on healthy, yet less expensive food.

They shun Milk stating that Milk fattens them.

They go to slimming parlours which never makes them slim.

My cousin brother’s daughter died  immediately after liposuction at one of the reputed Beauty parlours in Chennai.

The corporate ads mislead people aided by unscrupulous Doctors.

There seems to be  a Certification by IMA which is often quoted by the Corporates.

    Who are these jokers?

The instances that the youngsters waste money on things that are harmful is numerous and it would become a statistical blog if one were to list them.

Narendra Modi ,in his interview has referred to this habit of  the middle class women preferring beauty over health and he is right.

The Congress which has no credible answer to Coalgate is reacting stridently.

Though a bachelor, Modi seems to know more about family than the married Central Ministers.

Where does the question of freedom of women butt in here”

    Clowns all.

‘Dubbing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on women as “childish”, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni on Thursday said he is not “sensitive” towards women. “The Gujarat Chief Minister, who claims himself to be one of the best administrators in the world, is giving this kind of childish statement specially against women,” Soni told reporters outside Parliament.

Explaining why malnutrition level in the state was persistently high, Modi had said in an interview to Wall Street Journal that “Gujarat is …a middle class state. The middle class is more beauty conscious that health conscious – that is a challenge. If a mother tells her daughter to have milk they have a fight. She will tell her mother ‘I wont drink milk, I will get fat.” Taking on Modi for the comment, Soni said, “There are serious charges against his ministers in his state. He is keeping himself busy in these kind of light matters.”

“He is not even sensitive towards women who support their families by sacrificing their food for the sake of their families in Gujarat and now he is saying that women are not eating because they are health conscious. What can be more light statement than this?” she asked and added “I think he is not fit to contest again in Gujarat.”

Slamming the statement, Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath said Modi “lacks wisdom”.

“This is very wrong to say so. Every girl has a right to be health conscious. If anyone thinks it otherwise he lacks wisdom,” Tirath said.

    Narendra Modi WSJ Interview Excerpts.

Narendra Modi: “We are the first state in the country to raise the issue of malnutrition. It came to our mind that Gujarat is by and large a vegetarian state. And secondly, Gujarat is also a middle-class state. The middle class is more beauty conscious than health conscious – that is a challenge. If a mother tells her daughter to have milk, they’ll have a fight. She’ll tell her mother, ‘I won’t drink milk. I’ll get fat.’ They have money but she’s beauty conscious, she’s not health conscious. So being a middle-class state is also a problem for me. A large segment of the population in my state is middle-class. Second is vegetarianism.

“So a lot needs to be explained to both the beauty conscious and the health conscious. We have to request to them that there should be a good nutritional situation. We gave a budget of 700 crore rupees ($126 million). But these things are such that you see a sudden change in a child after the age of 13-14 years. They grow up so fast – from zero to 13 you don’t come to know how they got so big. So we are going through that stage….

Even after a lot of improvement – we still have to measure (malnutrition), conduct surveys. Until that is done, this perception will remain. But I’m quite confident. We will try to get a drastic change in this. Just as we’ve become a model in the electricity sector, Gujarat is going to come up as a model in this also. I can’t make any big claims, because I don’t have a survey in front of me yet.”
