  • Ban on Viswaroopam Kamal Hassan Agrees!

    This is nothing but Minority Terrorism aided by greed for Votes.
    The Government should not have acted this way, that too very cleverly by bringing in
    Law and order ‘issues instead of bringing in ‘hurting religious sentiments’.
    When a Government quotes Law and Order issues in the arguments, and that the Collectors have taken precautionary measures to enforce section 144 , there is little that a Court can do.
    Very clever indeed.
    Karunanidhi ,as usual was undecided as to what stand he should take-initially he called for a dialogue between Kamal Hassan and the Muslim Outfits without commenting on Freedom of Expression.
    Now he has come out saying that he suspects that the film was banned because Kamal Hassan refused to sell the Film to Jaya TV , run by Jayalalithaa at a very lower price and that he had sold it to SUN TV;and that the ban was mooted as a revenge for this and for a recent speece of Kamal Hassan that attacked the Jay Government !
    Jayalalitha probably thought banning the film would bring in Muslims to her side and given Karunanidhi’s penchant for Muslim support would keep quiet as he could not openly support them without alienating the people who care for Freedom of Speech.
    The wily Fox is taking another tack.
    This sort of politicking is the bane of Tamil Nadu.
    Every issue is either Karunanidhi-centric or Jaya-centric.As to Kamal Hassan agreeing to remove the portions these Muslim out fit wanted to be removed he seems to justify the Government!After it is all Money?

    Why don’t you accept it, and not put an a cry show talking about ‘being an ‘Artiste’ and blah..blah.

    Would you recall that you showed a scene in your Dasavatharam , the Idol of Vishnu being chained, dragged along the ground and thrown out into the sea by A Vaishvaite, though it hurt both the Saivite and Vaisnavites alike?

    That was History?

    But Muslim terrorists slitting the throats with a  cry of ‘Allah O Akbar’ in Live Videos is a fiction and Muslims will object to it and you will remove them!

    My Muslim family has reached out to me. They came and told me which portions they want removed, they told me the scenes they wanted cut and the words of Quran they wanted removed. They told me which are the scenes that would offend and could be removed,” said the actor, who was flanked by Congress leader J M Haroon, lyricist Vairamuthu, and several film personalities.

    “We are thankful that he has agreed to remove the Quran words from the film. He immediately came forward to delete the portions,” said Haroon.

    The actor added that the issue has been settled amicably. “There are no differences between me and my Muslim brothers. I am hearing some alarming news both from my fans and Muslim friends so far. Now it is up to the law enforcement and the justice department to ensure nothing happens to my Muslim brethren and others,” he said, adding that the film is in praise of Muslims.

    An emotional Kamal Haasan said that he is thinking of leaving Tamil Nadu for some other secular state in India as the problems over his movie Vishwaroopam‘s release continued.

    “I will look at all the states from Kashmir to Kerala excluding Tamil Nadu. If I don’t find one which is secular, I will leave for another country. M F Hussain had to leave, now Haasan will have to,” said the actor, whose movie’s release was stopped by TN state government authorities last week after a few Muslim groups protested.
    I recall the instance when MGR was in power Lord Rama‘s Photos were beaten with chappals and garlanded with it;instead of taking action against the DK Group, Thuglak Cho(Or is it Ananada Vikatan?) was chargesheeted for a write up condemning the incident.

  • Kamal Press Conference Viswaroopam Ban Video

    At a Press conference conducted  this morning Actor Kamal Hassan alleged Political conspiracy to ban his Film Viswaroopam.

    Though an Interim stay was ordered by the High Court of madras, ,he said, the Chennai Police chased people away, refused permission to screen the Film  asking for the order in Physical Form.

    He felt that he was being chased out of Tamil Nadu and hoped to settle anywhere else, be it Kerala or some other sate.

    If no other State was prepared to accept he planned to settle abroad.

    He also stated that he had hocked his house and was likely to lose it if did not meet his lender’s time line.

    ‘A visibly emotional Kamal Haasan held a press conference on Wednesday in Chennai. The actor and filmmaker alleged the ban onVishwaroopam was a sheer political game and he would be compelled to leave the country if the harassment persists.

    Vishwaroopam was originally scheduled to release in Tamil Nadu on January 25 but the TN government imposed a 2 week ban on the film after a few Muslim outfits complained that the film contains a few objectionable scenes. Reacting to this Kamal Haasan said that the ban on Vishwaroopam was a ‘cultural terrorism’.

  • Kamal’s Viswaroopam Details of The Controversy

    Noted Tamil Actor kamal Hassan’s Tri-lingual film .Viswaroopam (Tamil,Telugu and Hindi) is caught in a mire of controversy.

    Produced by Mr.Kamal Hassan at a cost of 90 crores, the film is reportedly about terrorists.

    The film has been cleared by the Censors in all the languages and is running through out the world including Kerala and Andhra.

    Though the film is approved for release in Karnataka, the film has not opened up ,it is learnt at the request of Tamil Nadu Distributors.

    The funniest part is none of the people who are objecting to the Film has seen the Movie!

    Complaints.

    1.It Hurts Minorities’ ,Read Muslims,Sentiments.

    2.Leaders of the Muslim Groups who participated in a panel discussion in Tamil News Channel SUN News advanced very strange reasons.

    a) Leader of the Group who indulges in Violence who speaks Tamil,  is a Foreigner.

    So what Kamal meant is he is Tamil speaking Muslim!

    b)There is a scene( they say they have not seen the Movie!)a brutal takes place when Koran is recited and Killers call ‘Alalh Ho Akbar’

    c)  In Tamil Nadu we are living with The Hindus as brothers;by seeing this film they will look at us differently.

    d) As it is we unable to  get houses in Tamil Nadu because we are Muslims.

    e) Every producer must show us the story and film as it  is being produced and only after our concurrence the Film must be released!

    f) If the Movie is released, we will not get Brides for our Boys!

    If they mean within their Communities, that only means that they suspect the Bride groom might be a terrorist.

    Various Muslim organisations demanded a ban on the screening of actor-producer Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam‘, saying “it will affect social harmony” in Chennai.

    M H Jawahirullah, MLA and President, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, said representatives of various Muslim organisations met the City Police Commissioner S George demanding that the screening of the movie be banned.

    “The screening of the movie will affect social harmony in the state. We plan to meet the Home Secretary, besides moving the Censor Board,” he said.

    Jawahirullah replied in the affirmative when asked if they planned to move the court if required.

    Muslim organisations had earlier demanded that the film be screened to them prior to its release, expressing concern over the depiction of the community in the movie.

    He said Haasan had organised a special screening of the movie for them following their demand.

    The thespian had already courted controversy after taking a U-turn on his decision to release the movie on Direct-to-Home (DTH) platform with theatre owners red-flagging his decision.”

    முன்னதாக சென்ற வாரத்தில் கிட்டத்தட்ட 30 லட்சம் பேர் முன்பதிவு செய்திருப்பதாக திடீரென ஒரு செய்தி வெளியானது. நாமும் அதை வெளியிட்டிருந்தோம். சினிமா ஆட்களுடன் நெருங்கிய தொடர்பில் இருக்கும், முன்பு விநியோகஸ்தராக இருந்த, ஒரு பிரபல நபர் தனது பேஸ்புக்கில் விலாவரியாய் எழுதியிருந்ததை அடிப்படையாய் வைத்து வந்த அந்த செய்தி ஆதாரமற்றதாய் போய்விட்டது. அந்த நபரிடமே அதைப்பற்றி விசாரித்தபோது அது ஆந்தையார் ரிப்போர்டரிடமிருந்து வந்த தகவல் எனவும்,இந்த DTH பற்றி தான் பல வருடமாய் கவனித்து தகவல்களை சேகரித்து வைத்துள்ளதாகவும், 10 கோடி DTH இணைப்புகள் இருப்பதால் 30 லட்சம் இணைப்புகள் நடப்பது எளிது என்றும், கமலின் பேஸ்புக் பேஜில் அதை பகிர்ந்துள்ளேன் அதை அவர் மறுக்கவில்லை எனவே.. தனது கணக்கு தப்பாது என்றார். அவர் சொன்னதைப் பார்க்கும் போது வாய்ப்பு இருக்குமோ எனத் தோன்றியது. ஆனால் உண்மை வேறுமாதிரியாய் இருந்திருக்கிறது.

  • Kamal Hassan Viswaroopam Telugu Tamil Review

    I have received emails from readers for my review on Kamal Hassan‘s Viswaroopam.

    Some feel that my Review of Vijay’s Thuppaki to be good.

    I am yet to see the film in Bangalore where it is not screened in The Multiplexes as of writing on 25 January.

    In the mean while I am reproducing part of Review of th film Viswaroopam in Tamil and Telugu.

    I shall post my review on seeing the Film and I assure that my Review will not influenced by the Reviews that have been made already.

    Watch It Or Not ?: It’s a complete multiplex film with rich production values, watch it if you are fan of Kamal Hassan

    Viswaroopam Review : Story

    Viswanath(Kamal) is dance instructor in NewYork city and he is married to Nirupama(Pooja Kumar), she is nuclear oncologist by proffession. Their marriage doesn’t run fruitfull, so she hires a private detective to spy on Kamal, to find out any flaws about him which might help her to get divorse. This private detective finds out that Kamal is muslim, which shocks Nirupama. Is Kamal muslim or hindu? what happens to the marriage of Kamal there after? has to be seen on silverscreen.

    Viswaroopam Review : Star Performances

    Kamal has done multishade character in this flick with ease and simplicity. Different getups used on him for characters looked apt . His classical dance steps with natural expressions and action sequence performed by him are good.  (apherald.com)

    The movie starts in America. Viswanath (Kamal Hassan), who will be seen as Kathak trainer, is surrounded by girls and one among them is Andrea Jeremiah. This makes Dr Nirupama (Pooja Kumar) to doubt on her hubby’s character and hires a detective, who gets killed by Al-Qaeda group. The Al-Qaeda is planning to plant a Nuclear Bomb in New York and Kamal Hassan is well-aware of it. How? He has a past where he has a connection with the terrorist group, which is headed by Omar (Rahul Bose). Will the terrorist organisation succeed in their mission? What role does Kamal play? Is he a terrorist or an undercover agent? To know all these, you should watch the film. The story of the film begins on a slow note but it is gripping. The first half is entirely shot in the US, and keeps you engaged and generate a lot of curiosity. When it comes to second half, the narration is dragging at parts but gets interesting with Kamal Hassan’s past getting revealed

    has a wonderful story. It is well-backed by technical aspects like action and cinematography. It has to be noted that only one song will be part of the film even though the album of the film has a couple of tracks. Kamal ends on the note that Viswaroopam will continue until Omar or he is killed.

    Of all technical aspects, Sanu Varghese’s cinematography stands tall, as he has done a brilliant job. He has wonderfully captured some of the rarest locales of Afghanistan. Shankar Ehsaan Loy’s two songs are good and background score is excellent. Especially, it is a treat to watch the Jet Fighter scenes on Auro 3D sound format. However, Mahesh Narayanan’s editing would have been better had he reduced the length of the film.

    There have been many Stars and Superstars.

    Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan,Icons of Kollywood.

    Yet the craze and adulation for this humble Conductor from Karnataka is unparalleled.

    He may not be good Actor ,not even good-looking with very dark complexion and small eyes.

    yet the Man looms large over the others.

    An actor who has fan following in Jan,which none else has to the extent of what Rajini has, is a marvel.

    But what makes the Man tick?

    Is it his love of acting,humility or his clever choice of subjects for his Films or his very uncommon trait of understanding his weakness?

    I believe it is a combination of all these.

    Yet his humility and the trait of not forgetting his roots and the path he traveled makes him connect to people.

    Kamal Hassan whom I happened to know in his younger days(moot point whether he will remember people) is an actor of some substance and has mass following.

    Yet it can not match Rajni.

    Kamal pontificates, Rajni connects.

    Rajni lives with us in the Real world while Kamal Hassan orbits in the tinsel world.

    Rajni cloaks his Wisdom under the hood of an Ignoramus, Kamal does the opposite.

    Kamal speaks what the audience what the audience wants to hear while Rajni communicates with himself in Public.
