Novel apartments have been designed in Japan, with unusual access ,utility, space saving and functionality.
Kazuyo Sejima designed this nine-unit apartment in Yokohama with an undulating inner court. Each unit has access to either its own garden or roof terrace. The glimpses into this maze-like open space adds a unique character to the surrounding neighborhood. This timber framed apartment accommodates four artists. The small bedrooms are lifted five meters (16.4 feet) above the ground on the triangular corners of the building. The open-air covered courtyard is shared by the residents as their communal studio and gallery. The exterior stairs to bedrooms are sometimes used as seating when there are performances in the gallery.Sou Fujimoto devised multi-unit housing by literally stacking house-shaped units one atop the other. The topmost units are accessed by exterior staircases, like vertical renditions the narrow alleyways one finds in Tokyo. This five-story apartment building heightens the contrast between perceived mass and void. Each of the upper level units of accommodation is separated by an outdoor corridor. This colorful apartment in Tokyo is intended to awaken human senses. The inside is as colorful as the exterior and finished by different materials (tatami, pebbles, wood, etc.) are used. The living / dining even has bumpy floor to challenge it’s tenants.NE apartments in Tokyo are a novel take on the home residence: a block of eight apartments in Japan designed exclusively for the motorcyclistPhotography of the apartment interiors reveal incredibly efficient if compact living spaces for one, and the interior layout of the block as a whole is a veritable rabbit warren of a design
A survey conducted on International Women’s day is revealing as it blows away some myths and explains that satisfaction with Life is not related to material comforts.
Where the West feels its Statistics are not comfortable for them especially against their illusion of grandeur ,they go to lengths to justify their record by calling the Countries names!
Some findings are really Weird and confusing.
Women seem to have the Best of Life in New Zealand.
But Women in the Middle East are most satisfied with their Health.
The West can not accept this,
The explanation is ‘ but that could be because health care access in those countries is lower across the board, so sickness is equal-opportunity:”
According to Gallup , the countries where women feel safest walking around alone at night aren’t the ones you’d think: Georgia, Rwanda and Singapore top that list, but only because their more rigid governments keep a close watch on things:
Many of the countries on this list — including Rwanda, Tajikistan, and Laos — are authoritarian regimes in which security forces exercise a high degree of control over the population, suggesting that in some cases personal security may come at the expense of personal freedoms.’
West Comment:
”
Women feel safest in the tiny, former-Soviet country of Georgia:
Women Physical and Emotional Health.
Women Feel Safe.

Women feel safe in Poor Countries.
”
Think it’s safer to live in a richer country? Not really. Women in poorer countries are actually likelier to feel safe, but then again, definitions of “feeling safe” aren’t exactly universal:
Standards for personal security may also be much lower in developing than in developed countries, which helps explain why many low-income countries appear high on the list.”
The conception of the West is that Japan Women are being subjected to Domestic violence is also blown.
Analyzing data from 10 countries, the World Health Organization found that cities in Japan and rural areas in Peru represent the extremes of domestic violence (though to be fair, the survey didn’t measure very many Central Asian, European or North American countries):
The proportion of women who had ever suffered physical violence by a male partner ranged from 13 percent in Japan to 61 percent in provincial Peru. The most common act of violence experienced by women was being slapped by their partner, from 9 percent in Japan to 52 percent in provincial Peru. This was followed by being struck with a fist, for which these two settings again represented the extremes (2 percent and 42 percent, respectively).”
Surprise;
Rwanda has the most women in public office
Out of 190 countries , Rwanda, Cuba, Andorra and Sweden have the most female representatives in their congress or parliament. More than half of Rwanda’s lower house is female. Palau, Qatar and Vanuatu are near the bottom of the list, while the U.S. is near the middle, at 77th place.”
The first National Women’s Day was celebrated on March 8, 1909, a day designated by the Socialist Party of America to honor of the 1908 garment workers’ strike in New York. From there, the day expanded internationally to include women’s movements agitating for the right to vote, work, and hold public office. It joined with other movements working to topple the Czarist regime in Russia and protest World War I. In some places, it’s even a public holiday. (In 1965, the Soviet Union declared March 8 a non-working day “in commemoration of outstanding merits of the Soviet women in communistic construction.”)
In honor of International Women’s Day somewhat left-leaning origins, here’s a look at the countries where work, life and health conditions for women are the best. There’s no clear stand-out country or region, but in general, it seems like you’d be better off somewhere in either Scandinavia or Southern Europe. Peru (and the U.S.) don’t come off that well, but New Zealand and even Rwanda might not be a bad option:
Women in New Zealand have the best working lives:
The Economist created an index showing the countries where women are most likely to be treated equally at work, based on the labor-force participation rate, the wage gap, the proportion of women in senior jobs and child care cost compared to wages, among other factors. New Zealand comes out on top, and other notorious lady-paradises such as Finland and Sweden also score high. The countries where working women have it worst are South Korea and Japan, largely because so few women there are in top jobs. The U.S. is roughly in the middle of the pack:”..
China is facing the pressure of shortage of bride grooms and Boy friends are available on Hire.
The attempt of man to control population has unforeseen side effects.
Compare this with Kerala , India where is a dearth of females!
By aping the West, even the most cultured , old and Conservative Societies like china and japan have descended to this level beating the West .
Boy Friends For Hire, China.
Story:
Twenty-somethings in China – young women especially – face a strict societal deadline to find a husband before they turn 30.
In the basement of an office tower in downtown Beijing, a cloud of gloom hovers over the canteen at lunch time. Groups of young women huddled over large bowls of noodles look depressed when asked about the February’s impending Chinese New Year holiday.
“I’m pretty old – I’m almost 30 – but I’m still single,” explains Ding Na, a woman hailing from China’s northeast.
According to Zhou Xiaopeng, a consultant with Baihe.com, one of China’s biggest dating agencies, the pressure for singles to settle down crescendos around Chinese New Year.
“I might find someone who shares my interests and it would make both of us happy”
“Picture a scene where people sit around a table,” Ms Zhou says.
“Chinese people love to get together for dinner. On New Year’s Eve, everybody is sitting in pairs, your brother with your sister-in-law, your sister with your brother-in-law, and so on. If you’re the only one left behind, you can imagine the pressure and frustration.
…Kiss for $8
Luckily for some, China’s most popular online marketplace, Taobao, offers a band-aid solution: the rental of fake boyfriends.
For as little as $50 (£32) a day, dozens of classified adverts promise to provide a male companion for the holidays, pretending to be a single woman’s plus-one.
Some postings list a full menu of possibilities – charging $5 an hour to accompany a girl to dinner and $8 for a kiss on the cheek. If the fake boyfriend stays overnight with his client’s family for Chinese New Year, he charges $80 a night to sleep in his own bed, and $95 to sleep on the couch.
A site in Japan is offering Boy Friends on Rent at $ 364 .
Girl friends?
Japan provides its lonely men with plenty of way to find sweet respite from the emptiness and isolation of everyday life-provided you have the cash. And we’re not just talking about prostitution: you can rent a girlfriend at Moé Date for day of “simulate romance” or find a cuddle partner at Soine-ya to help you rest easy at night.
But what about the ladies? Women get lonely too, so it seems unfair that such services would only be available to men.
Believe it or not, even before either of the above establishments were in business, there was Soine-ya Prime, a dispatch service where women can hire a handsome young man to lay with her in bed for a night.
The firm, Taobao.com, China’s largest online marketplace, is hoping to cash in on plight of millions of single women during the next month’s Chinese New Year, which is traditionally a family reunion period.
The online service is offering single women a ‘Rent a Boyfriend service to accompany them during their visit friends and families, go shopping, having meals and even getting a kiss out of courtesy.
The glasses are equipped with a near-infrared light source, which confuses the software without affecting vision.
Law enforcers, shops and social networks are increasingly using facial-recognition software.
Prof Isao Echizen said: “As a result of developments in facial recognition technology in Google images, Facebook et cetera and the popularisation of portable terminals that append photos with photographic information [geotags]… essential measures for preventing the invasion of privacy caused by photographs taken in secret and unintentional capture in camera images is now required.”
The near-infrared light “appends noise to photographed images without affecting human visibility,” he said.
Shop mannequins
Prof Echizen said the glasses, which connect to a pocket power supply, would be reasonably priced, but there are some simpler alternatives.
Heavy make-up or a mask will also work, as will tilting your head at a 15-degree angle, which fools the software into thinking you do not have a face, according to an online guide produced by hacktivist group Anonymous.
In September, following a review by Ireland’s data protection commissioner, Facebook suspended its facial-recognition tool that suggested when users in Europe could be tagged in photographs.
In November, it emerged some shop mannequins were collecting data on shoppers using facial-recognition software.
